@DeePaddy24I went to mine for my first AS, I wasn't too impressed, but it wasn't dirty or gross. My BF had her baby there too and she had a pretty good experience.
is a hospital tour really necessary? I know where I'm having my baby, it's the only hospital my OB office delivers at, I wouldn't mind a tour, but I don't know if I'm going to have one.
The most helpful thing about the hospital tour for me was seeing where we had to go when I get there when I'm in labor since its a bigger hospital with lots of entrances that also happens to have part of it under construction. Seeing the labor and postpartum rooms was nice but it wasn't necessary to me.

I'm hoping not, lol. Our hospital no longer offers them...instead, they put a virtual one on their website. Not very helpful, haha. I have to go to the labour & delivery floor tomorrow morning for my Rhogam shot so I'm planning to scope things out a bit.
Where we live (Texas), it's not necessary, and it wasn't super informative either. The L&D ward loops like pretty much other hospital rooms, but bigger. I was interested in finding out about the security, but was not impressed. Guess I was hoping for a James Bond kind of security in regards to folks coming to visit. Oh well, we weren't going to tell anyone when I went into labor anyway.

I never had one with my first. The hospital has exactly 2 delivery rooms and one recovery room because it is so small.
With my second it was a much larger hospital. Like @Sgoldberg247 the most helpful thing was finding out what entrance to use. Other than that it wasn't necessary at all.

The best information I got was that they have areas with free soda, cookies and crackers! That was the favorite part of my hospital! Oh, and knowing how to get in if we were there after hours, which we were! It also eased my anxiety of the unknown a little bit!
My MIL got to see baby doing ninja kicks and flips this morning. She was beyond excited, since the last time she was out here, baby was still too small to really even feel from the outside.
Okay I miss everyone and feel lonely. My days are not as entertaining without all you funnies. Please add me to the FB group. I didn't want give in because I sorta dislike FB more than the bump app, but for the sake of company, I'm in!

Just had our first birthing and childcare class (it's a weekend one, the rest is all day tomorrow) and I'm already feeling so much more prepared to do this! My husband even feels better about being my support person and more included in the pregnancy. Just saying, even if I forget all of this information when the time comes, the relief of having the knowledge and being able to sleep better because of it is so worth taking a few classes!

Most of my sandals/flats/flip flops are all so thin soled that they hurt my feet these days

Teva man. They are the only flip flops I wear. They are a little spendy but totally worth it.
So I'm not trying to be a special snowflake or anything but now I'm experiencing foot swelling the last few days. Does anyone have any tried and true remedies besides elevation and rest? The Internet has all kinds of suggestions, grapefruit oil (?) etc and I'm wondering what works best if anything!
I found that compression socks helped me a ton, especially if they're painful. But you're right about elevation and rest. Cut back on sodium, drink more water and take it easy.

Compression socks are great, except actually putting them on! That's a serious workout! If you work in an office that requires professional attire I found compression stockings for maternity at buy buy baby that are actually comfortable. I bought one size up, and they're awesome.
I've for sure reached "I'm so uncomfortable how the F am I going to do this for 8 more weeks" stage. Getting off the couch seriously takes a little motivational speech to myself now-and a LOT of grunting.
Thanks for the compression sock idea ladies! I forgot about them because I did but a pair for traveling a few months ago and haven't used them since. The problem today is that I stood on my feet for two days at a work conference and today I woke up with my feet still swollen.

I've started the act of rolling out of bed because who the hell can do a sit up anymore
Uhhh. I am wide awake. Where is the world is that elusive sleep cat from tv. I need some doggone sleep. I guess I will go back to surfing BMBs. Godd Morning to anyone up too.
I'm with you @cjackrunfast78..... Although my issue is that since both guest rooms in my house are occupied, my REAL cat doesnt have the extra rooms to wander through, so he sits next to my side of the bed and whines at me all night. It sucks because my shower is today....
With the talk of ice cream and nice weather I think that I am going to have a BAR B Q!!!.I am going to run to the store and get some turkey dogs and turkey burgers plus a nice steak for me. Corn on the cob and Lord!!! SOME ICE CREAM!!! I think I will get everyone a pint so that I do not have to share. I love nice weather!!!
For those of you interested in my MIL's Grandma Shower update!! IT IS STILL HAPPENING! May 14th, and I was actually invited. I'm not going.. but I didn't even think I'd get the invite. I didn't get any other details like what the heck theses people will be getting her for a gift, but I'm VERY interested to find out.

So I just found out my unit at work is throwing me a baby shower on May 16th. Yay! I hope there will be some stuff left over on my registry for them to pick from, I'm supposed to have a shower at my church coming up not this weekend but next. Does anyone have anything they just couldn't live without for a first time mom? I'm trying to wrack my brain as to what else I could add to my Walmart, target, or babiesrus registries.

Is there a registry or gift info with the invite?
