I think police officers get a bad rap these days and the general public has 0 clue how stressful their jobs really are. Plus I think places like Facebook, especially Facebook, have made seeing humanity in a good light almost impossible.
@randishane011804 amen! DH's BFF is NYPD and I can't fathom a) doing what he does or b) being his wife and worried for his welfare every time he goes to work. Their dream is to move to New England and open a B&B after he retires. Totally not what you'd think of a Brooklyn cop, right? They're just people!
yep agree 100% my brother father uncle two cousins and brother in law are all officers. It's scary to think about the jobs they do on a daily basis and how frequently they put themselves in danger. There are police officers that aren't good people, and when things happen that get media attention their situations need to be handled appropriately... However, it sucks for all of the good men and women out there in blue to be lumped into one stereotype.
My UO: I think it's a crap move not to like every HDBD picture. AWing, noobs or not, if you have the courage to put your growing belly on the internet you deserve a love tit vote of confidence from me.
I will preface this in that I want everyone's baby to cook as long as possible and without any complications. Period. But I am going to be annoyed if the first birth announcement we get is from a lurker who only posts on HDBD or the ring thread. I want to be excited for someone I "know" damnit.
@quartz02 I feel the same way about Channing Tatum. I'm sure he's a very nice person, just not my cup of tea. To be fair, I'm sure he wouldn't think I was hot either.
@randishane011804 I just wanted to brighten your day with this gem social media brought to my attention last week. Lost pitbull jumps into a cop's car during his first day on the force. Here's what the dogs owner sees when they come to get her.
No, UO's this morning, just had to swing by with a dog picture.
@nerdchild yup, not a fan of Channing Tatum either. (I do like his moves, though) and yes, I'm sure I'm not at all what Ryan or Channing are interested in. Bwahahaha!
@quartz02 Probably an early FFFC but Dwayne Johnson is the closest thing to a 'celebrity I am hot for'. Couldn't tell you why him over any other celebrity, though.
Neil DeGrasse Tyson is my real celebrity crush. I would probably cry if I met him in person. I just want to live inside of his brain.
I guess I was spoiled with my daughter, I never had any issues with her nails. I probably just jinxed myself, this kid is going to come out with daggers. @ButterMyBiscuit

Preach it girl. As a cop wife I couldn't have said it better myself. Cops literally get 0 respect from many asshats, yet are the first ones called by the same asshats when they are in need. I worry about my husband 24/7 when he is at work. He is a great person and does his job well. There are obviously a few who give the entire profession a bad rep, but that goes with every profession and shouldn't lead to rash generalizations.

For the sake of your sweet baby's face, I hope he/she is born without daggers.
I think fingernails longer than 1/4" or so are gross. Just feels unsanitary. If you keep them longer than that, you better be scrubbing them out with a toothbrush everyday.
I only ever eat dry cereal. I just can't with the milk and the sogginess.
Hah! DH is the same way. In the morning he literally stands there with the cereal box in the kitchen and takes handfuls of cereal out and just eats it like that. Ya'll are crazy.
My UO is that medical assistance should have to be required to stay in a certain network too. Its not fair someone who pays can only go certain places even if they are dying and someone who doesn't pay can just go to the ER without a second thought for a cold or harmless bug bite.

@born2run911 I am also a cop wife and I am so worried about him all the time. I couldn't have said it any better, I just wish our society realized cops rarely are called to a good situation and are everyday people that just want to go home to their families at night.

I'm not sure how realistic this is. If you're talking about low income families with limited access to care at baseline you're then assuming that it's difficult for travel etc and you continue to limit care that way. You can't say to someone without a vehicle that they can only use 1 hospital in the city. I pay reduced fees to stay in network so it's a trade off convenience for cost, I will drive a little longer to a network physician because it saves me in monthly premiums and copays. Someone on medical assistance doesn't have that choice. There's also federal laws that say ERs cannot deny you care, so even if you are out of network you can use any ER but you may just be billed higher. Why should that be any different for someone using federal or state aid? I mean I get it, abuse of the healthcare system is damn infuriating and is a huge reason why healthcare expenses are so high, but you certainly cant say that the solution is to deny access to care.
UO: I roll my eyes when people write how tall they are on HDBD. We are growing babies and have bumps of different size and shape. No need to "justify" your bump

I'm totally guilty! I always saw them posted and thought it was the "thing" to do (along with how far along, FTM/STM/etc) when I started participating.
@jolydan I've never understood WHY we post heights... Is it suppose to be a vanity thing??? I don't get it, I have just done it because everyone who posted ahead of me did!

I do know that some people wanted to know heights so they could see if they were measuring up along with others. I know I like comparing my belly to make sure it is big enough. However, That is mostly due to my past. It helps my anxiety to see that I am "keeping up" with others. I don't want to be smaller.

In my personal experience, the people getting this aid have better means to get around than I do. It gets frustrating, regardless I don't mean to say they should get denied care. Maybe they just get some of a bill if they go out of network like anyone else. See an increase for where they go. I realize its probably unpopular. Hence why I posted. Lol. I am limited one hospital in my network in my area with the worst care because of where I work. Its ridiculous.
UO: I don't like when someone assumes I want to hold their baby or any baby that is present. Because in most cases, I don't want to. But I don't want to be the asshole who turns down holding a baby. And I don't need to be told I "need practice." I cannot, however, wait to hold my own baby. And I'm probably going to cringe when people want to play pass the baby with my child.
I posted on HDBD yesterday for the first time. I probably won't again. It gave me tons of anxiety that my bump seemed smaller than others. Rationally I know that I'm an end of July EDD, so most people have a week+ growth on me, but it didn't matter. I dislike HDBD and I have bump jealousy.
@ninji15 as someone on Medicaid I cam tell you that while yes, I can go to whatever hospital I want, I cannot go to whatever doctor I want. There are different CCOs within Medicaid and places that take it only have to accept one CCO. So no, it's never a problem for me to go to the hospital, but it took me almost a month to find a primary care doctor that accepted my insurance and could see me EVER. When someone is really sick this can mean going to the emergency room. I had a dislocated finger and I had to wait over a week to be seen. There's a lot more at play than I think people realize here. Insurance reform needs to happen across the board and it sucks that you have crappy insurance through your job, but people who aren't offered insurance through a job don't deserve to be given worse coverage.
@megstervt aw thats too bad, I thought you looked really cute! I think its safe to say we all have some anxiety around our bodies/bumps/whatever. I hope you keep posting.

The first sentence is an extremely elitist opinion. The whole point of medical assistance is so that they don't get bills because they cannot afford to pay for them. Also, the idea of an in network Medicaid system would never work. In example: hospital A you take all of these low income folks and eat the costs for their care while hospital B gets to bill them for care. It doesn't make any sense. You and I on the other hand are limited to network providers because we in exchange for our healthcare do work for a healthcare system. We get essentially an employee discount. It's different on SO many levels.

You are right in that I did not realize this and I apologize for my ignorance on that matter or if I offended you. Its just really frustrating in my personal experience at least to see how the healthcare works. Its caused me to form this opinion. I think it needs to be more evened out basically. Either no restrictions for anyone or restrictions for everyone. I also see where that is never going to happen and how unrealistic it is. I have at least 3,000 dollars in bills right now (so far) with all my appointments and such and my roommate had $0 because she gets paid 3 dollars less than I do. So any money I make more than her is kinda voided in a way. Our husbands make the same. She has a new car, I have a junker. She will have no debt with her baby, and has an amazing doctor. I am having no luck with doctors in my network. I get some people use it honestly, I do. Its just hard to watch when people don't. Again, sorry if I offended you.

Edited for grammar.
