I'm on both too, but work blocks facebook, so I have to turn off my wi-fi to check it. Which means I check it less frequently, but burn up the same amount of time doing non-work. I should tell the IT people that I would waste less time if they just unblocked it...
So I'm getting these questions from people at work asking me when my baby shower is and all I can really tell them is I don't know. I mean there are 2 baby showers coming up for 2 other girls at my work who are due like 2-3 weeks before me and they're one day apart. Both of them are expecting their 2nd or 3rd child so it's not like it's completely new to them or anything. This is my first. According to my coworkers our employer used to throw pretty good baby showers In the past. My supervisor did ask me where I was registered and I told her and then she asked me if I'd like to go out to lunch as a unit(we're all in different units depending on what our jobs are) and probably get me a gift or something. I mean I did find this odd as the other 2 girls are actually getting baby showers and I'm offered lunch but I just told her whatever they decide is fine with me. I mean it's still a nice thought/gesture cause I really wasn't sure if anything was going to happen for me but has anyone had this happen at their work? I mean there is another girl in my unit who had a baby shower thrown for her 2 years ago so I just assumed that they would probably do the same for me but maybe some people stopped?
Good Job DeNiro...and Jenny McCarty too right? I think both have done more harm in the incorrect education of vaccines and the risks.
And a whole bunch more too. The one that irks me the most is Mayim Bialek (Amy Farrah Fowler from the big bang theory). She has a PhD in neuroscience and has been all over the place on vaccines. As of 2009 she used the same ped as Jenny McCarthy and was openly not vaccinating but more recently, she said her kids are vaccinated but their medical decisions are none of anyone's business. She has an advanced degree in a science field from UCLA, she should be out there dispelling all this nonsense with her celebrity position!

I haven't paid a whole lot of attention to this anti-vax nonsense. BUT what?! How on earth can Dr. Bialek, neuroscientist be so wishy washy on vaccines? As to her recent position--ok fine, your kids medical info isn't anyone's business, but for goodness' sake use your platform! Totally agree, @sgoldberg. It's disappointing she won't speak up.
Sleep. I need sleep. Last night sucked so bad in the sleep department. And getting up by 5 is for the birds. If I did not need to save my leave for after baby is born, I sooo would not be going in today.
OMG my sleep sucked last night too. Is this what I have to look forward to for the next 2 months? My husband came in at 2:30 and washed up in the bathroom connected to our bedroom and it woke me up. Then I couldn't get back to sleep, but I must have. then he was snoring so loud it woke me up at 4 am and he eventually went to the couch, but I tossed and turned until I had to get up at 6am. Ugh!
Im getting my oil changed... I've been here at the "express" oil change at Honda for about 45 minutes and I have another hour left. Yay.... And my hospital tour is at 6.
A guy I worked with today simply pointed at my belly and laughed as he walked by.
He said nothing. Just laughed and pointed.
I said nothing.
Wwhhhhyyyy?
That person sounds special.
People who live and work in Boston get a bad rap for not being friendly in general, but at least people keep to themselves and don't make awkward or rude comments to strangers. I don't think one stranger has said anything to me. People at work barely make comments, just a couple this week of "Oh I didn't know you were pregnant, congratulations!"
@huskypuppy14 i agree as a fellow Bostonian. Thankfully no rude or obnoxious comments from strangers. In fact I was offered a seat on the crowded orange line last week!
Now I work with people that have severe mental illness so my clients have the best comments. "You must be pregnant because you are getting real fat in your gut." So flattering!
@ahernandez16 maybe like an exclusive club? Like only the most elite mean girls can be June 2016 mean girls?? We could all get members jackets
My random for the evening: We had our hospital orientation tonight and I told H we needed to stop by Dairy Queen on the way home cause I wanted a blizzard. We stopped at my parents' place first so it was almost 10pm by the time we got to DQ and then I scarfed it down pretty quickly. Well, quickly enough that D(amn) H did an impression of me that sounded a lot like Cookie Monster. I told him if he made another comment like that that he'd get the whole blizzard and my fist in his face the next time. Then two minutes later the baby went nuts and I started feeling like crap. I'm currently torn between wanting to feel sorry for myself and "no ragrets."
Not updating either. All caught up now. So happy they got rid of those adds "temporary" or not.
@gray51015 glad to hear your Drs are very thorough and I hope your LO stays put. I can't imagine how stressful that must have been. You seem so collected so kudos to you. I'm also sorry to hear about the hospice situation 94 what a great age. Prayers of peace.
10 week countdown here it's getting real. i am awaiting my obs office to open think I may have gotten a uti yuck. I have flank pain, crossing my fingers it's nothing, plus I have my shower on Saturday and I don't want anything to get worse.
My dog jumped up on me yesterday when I got home and hit my belly pretty good. Today the spot she hit (right beside my belly button) is very sore to the touch. It feels like a tender bruise but there is no visible bruise. I know baby is well protected in there but it's still scary!
is a hospital tour really necessary? I know where I'm having my baby, it's the only hospital my OB office delivers at, I wouldn't mind a tour, but I don't know if I'm going to have one.

I'm hoping not, lol. Our hospital no longer offers them...instead, they put a virtual one on their website. Not very helpful, haha. I have to go to the labour & delivery floor tomorrow morning for my Rhogam shot so I'm planning to scope things out a bit.
Re: Weekly Randoms go here...
Possibility I suppose..I am completely clueless. I guess I'll find out.

(see what I did there with the tots)
Edited to add: they comment that they don't understand all of the tot references on here & think the board is full of exclusive mean girls.

Also - we've managed to replace bump adds with threads about titanium vaginas? I'm just pissed I didn't think of adding that to @tunibee's thread!

If they think this board is mean, they should just not be on the internet at all. Seriously, this is the nicest board on the bump and the knot.
