Are you having/did you have a shower? My sister and stepmom threw me a shower on Saturday.
What items are you most excited about on your registry? We got our pack and play and baby monitor, and my dad and stepmom are buying us a dresser for the nursery, which pretty much finishes all of the large scale items we need. Also, several people gave us books that had been meaningful to them and their kids, which I love!
Did/will your DH/SO attend, the whole time, or show up at the end? Hcame only at the end to say hello to everyone.
Anything else fun you'd like to include! For one of the "games" my sister got a bunch of plain onesies and some fabric pens, glue, stencils and patterned fabric pieces. Everyone decorated either a onesie or a bib for the baby, and they are adorable. I don't know whether they'll survive a trip through the wash, but I'm crossing my fingers!
Also, my nursery theme is vaguely "jungle animals" so the food area was decorated in theme.
My family through me a surprise sprinkle. I had no clue what so ever. We were supposed to be meeting at my sisters to go out to dinner for my stepdads birthday. I walk in and hear surprise! I was shocked! I had told them I didn't want a sprinkle, but I'm so glad they did it. It was so fun. Just close family and a few friends.
Are you having/did you have a shower? If so, when? My friends are throwing me a sprinkle. It's my third baby, first girl, and I wasn't too keen on the idea, but I'm really excited about it now!
What items are you most excited about on your registry? I have a registry, but I'm not sharing the info unless asked. I'm guessing I'll be getting mostly diapers and cute clothes. My friends love baby girl clothes.
Did/will your DH/SO attend, the whole time, or show up at the end? I guess he'll come over and help bring gifts back home. The shower is at my neighbors home.
Anything else fun you'd like to include! I was surprised when my friend offered to throw one since it's my third baby. Im very excited though!
I had both my showers this weekend. I was very anxious and feeling a little awkward with it being my second child, but I ended up having so much fun at both!! Loved spending time with my sweet friends and family. (Had to remove my first name bc crazies)
My shower isn't for another month but I got a sneak preview of the invitations today & I just love the poem my sister had put on the back & the adorable color scheme!
My shower isn't for another month but I got a sneak preview of the invitations today & I just love the poem my sister had put on the back & the adorable color scheme!
Love this! I got a copy of my shower invites, too, & my mom & MIL also included a nice little poem about bringing a book. I think it's such a nice way to start a collection!
Ahh! I've been absent from here for a little while because of work but we had our shower sunday.
Are you having/did you have a shower? It was Sunday, here's a pic of the invite
What items are you most excited about on your registry? I was most excited about the Mamaroo and stroller, neither of which we got but it's ok because we received a LOT of gift cards so I'm going Saturday to finish off the list. Also, the more I read, the more excited I am about the Snuza!
If you've had your shower already, what were your favorite items you received? Any fun/novelty items? Honestly, my favorite thing so far has been the Boon lawn drying rack. It's so cute in the kitchen, even the husband liked it. We also got a custom wooden Belle with her initials on it for the nursery. It was totally unexpected and we love it! If you've had your shower already, what baby essentials do you still need to buy? I still need the stroller, monitor, a nursing cover, Mamaroo and the ingenuity booster chair. My sister in law swore by the last two items so we knew we wanted to get them.
Did/will your DH/SO attend, the whole time, or show up at the end? He did, but it was all girls so he came at the end. He was only there for like 20 minutes and then it ended, so he regretted coming so late but I asked him to be there an hour and a half before it ended. He does whatever he wants. Hate to say I told you so...
Haven't seen everyone's pics but here are some that were sent to me. It was "Tangled" themed
the sign in painting didn't match the theme but it matches her nursery. We really loved it, it looks great in her room!
@mrsmartinez16, that invite has the full RSVP address on it. The shower looks like fun. Also, check craigslist for the mamaroo, you can usually find them in great shape for under $100.
Are you having/did you have a shower? If so, when? I just had my shower last Saturday and it was so much fun. We did a couples shower and it was more laid back and party-ish. If you've had your shower already, what were your favorite items you received? So excited that we got a dock-a-tot. We travel a lot and I hear it's amazing for on-the-go. I also got all the essentials and couldn't resist the baby swimwear and sunglasses. If you've had your shower already, what baby essentials do you still need to buy? We didn't receive a lot of the healthy/beauty items like thermometer, nail clippers, etc. Also, we received mostly 3-6 months clothes so I will have to buy some newborn. Thought the opposite would happen. Did/will your DH/SO attend, the whole time, or show up at the end? He was there the whole time since it was a couples shower, but was really fun because we didn't do a lot of games and it was more of hanging out with family and friends.
What I wore: I was so fortunate that PinkBlush gave me a dress to review on my blog, so I ended up wearing that. If you haven't checked out PinkBlush before, they make AMAZING clothes perfect for a baby shower.
Are you having/did you have a shower? If so, when? My BFF threw me a small sprinkle over the weekend. She went above and beyond, it was beautiful! What items are you most excited about on your registry? The gift I'm most excited about is not on my registry - another BFF is knitting me a baby blanket! I've seen what she's done so far, and it's gorgeous (it's the same pattern as the one she made my son, but different colors). If you've had your shower already, what baby essentials do you still need to buy? I ended up getting some of my bedding, but bought the rest. I think I just have a few more little odds and ends to get, can't really think of anything specific at the moment.
Are you having/did you have a shower? We had our shower yesterday at my mom's house. My aunts came and my cousins and a couple of family friends. It was small but we got a good amount of stuff from our registry.
What items are you most excited about on your registry? Most excited about the stroller/car seat my grandma and parents went in together to get. I'm soo happy and thankful they got that for us! Thrilled about the baby swing my sister bought us. Everyone was so generous to us and we got a ton of wipes!
Did/will your DH/SO attend, the whole time, or show up at the end? My hubby was hanging out with a friend for the day to get some other stuff done since It was literally all women at my shower. He came later with his friend to pick me up since I rode with a friend down there.
Anything else fun you'd like to include? My weakness is icing on cake and the cake we had came from Walmart but man was it delicious! I had about 2 pieces and way too much food! I felt so bad leaving after everyone was gone just because my mom and sister went to so much trouble to throw it for us. I always hate the party to end. I'll post pics later, my sister has them all right now.
Are you having/did you have a shower? If so, when? We had our shower on Saturday and it was so nice. What items are you most excited about on your registry? Both set of grandparents bought the crib and dresser which was a big help. Also got a car seat and quite a few gift cards to purchase other items. If you've had your shower already, what were your favorite items you received? Any fun/novelty items? We asked everyone bring a book instead of card. So we have a good start on our baby's book collection. If you've had your shower already, what baby essentials do you still need to buy? We need to get the stroller and pack n play. We'll get that this weekend. Did/will your DH/SO attend, the whole time, or show up at the end? He was there the whole time and I'm glad.
Here is a picture of the desserts/candy bar guests could indulge in. We are doing a gray and yellow theme for the baby's room with elephants. The shower was a carnival theme with a carnival elephant and gray and yellow. It was so nice. Definitely made us feel special and loved.
Are you having/did you have a shower? If so, when?LOL well this will be rather short - no I'm not! Most my friends and all my family live far away... Kinda sad actually, since this is my first baby! What items are you most excited about on your registry? If you've had your shower already, what were your favorite items you received? If you've had your shower already, what baby essentials do you still need to buy? Well as for essentials, I still need to buy a car seat, changing table, crib, diapers, stroller, shoes, I don't even know what all I really need! Thankfully I still have another couple months - time is flying so fast... Did/will your DH/SO attend, the whole time, or show up at the end?
Are you having/did you have a shower? If so, when? Yup, 4/16!! What items are you most excited about on your registry? My larger items like carseats and strollers(That's some pricey stuff) and my cloth diapers. If you've had your shower already, what were your favorite items you received? Any fun/novelty items? I got the above listed but some things that stood out were things like the Star Trek onsies that said "I just boldly went", A mommy and baby set that said "You are my sunshine, my only sunshine" on the mommy shirt and "You make me happy when skies are grey" on the baby's onsie, also my little cousin, who is 14, found a planter that matched out nursery theme and planted and grew little succulent plants for the baby's room and her mom did something really sweet, years ago we went to Croatia and saw the village where my grandfather was born and grew up and without anyone knowing she took a piece of roofing and saved it for me. She wrote a lovely note saying how we can hang on to it and pass a little piece of history down the family line.
If you've had your shower already, what baby essentials do you still need to buy? I still need my breastfeeding/pumping supplies and more cloth diapers. Did/will your DH/SO attend, the whole time, or show up at the end? Yes, in fact he planned it with his mom. He did the decorations, the prizes, the food and kept it all a surprise from me except for the date, time and theme. He walked around the shower making sure I had food and drinks and he wore a "Dad to be" metal. So cute Anything else fun you'd like to include! We had a game of bingo going on while I opened gifts where if I got an item or said certain things they would win. At one point people kept trying to trick me into saying things like "peek-a-boo" and "baby" for their cards. lol it was really funny
@bstretch23, you look lovely and you're both adorable! I love that you had a couple's shower! I've never heard of PinkBlush before, I'll definitely check them out!
I'm late to the game, no surprise there!
Are you having/did you have a shower? If so, when? May 14th What items are you most excited about on your registry? Vino-2-Go double wall insulated wine tumbler...basically a sippy cup for adults. Kidding....kinda. My registry has been available since February and only my parents have purchased items thus far. They have been extremely generous though and bought ALL of our big-ticket items and a ton of other stuff (boxes of cute clothes? Yes, please.). I love our travel system, can't wait to use it!
Anyone else see your due date looming close in the distance and getting nervous about items that are still remaining on your registry?
If you've had your shower already, what were your favorite items you received? Any fun/novelty items? N/A
If you've had your shower already, what baby essentials do you still need to buy? My shower hasn't happened yet but because I'm a little bit of a nervous nelly, the other day I bought some of the items I felt were important that were still on the registry. I felt a bit guilty doing so.
Did/will your DH/SO attend, the whole time, or show up at the end? Nah, my Mom and aunt are planning it and wanted to keep it "Ladies Only" and I didn't mind. Since I live abroad, the people that are flying in will be here for a bit, so there will be lots of opportunities for the group (including significant others) to get together and do stuff.
Anything else fun you'd like to include! I don't know much about the shower except the favors for our guests. One of the favors is each guest will get a small bottle of champagne to open when the baby finally arrives, that way everyone can celebrate with a little bubbly. I picked out the venue and the menu since my Mom lives in the US and couldn't do it herself. Should b nice!
We received many great gifts but I was most excited about the stroller we got! Cake was yummy! We had our shower last Sunday. Got another next weekend and my work one in May.:)
I had my sprinkle over the weekend and I really wanted it to be a little different than usual. It was a women and children event and we did play a couple of traditional games (guess how big my belly is, don't say baby, etc.) but the main things I really wanted to do was have each guest tie dye a onesie which turned out amazing, we got 5 in each size up to 12 months and has each person mark which one was theirs so now my little hippie baby will be decked out for the whole year and I just thought it was really cool that everyone would be able see the baby wear the one they made eventually. Then also I wanted to get my belly done in henna and get some cool pictures of it and when I talked to the henna artist we worked it out so that each of my guests could get a hand done too! Both activities were a hit and I couldn't be happier with how it all turned out
