@AGK2015 Same here. I haven't felt any BH or anything and I'm due next week.
Some people never do, even though they are having them. I have felt 2 or 3 times a mild feeling that I thought "hmmm maybe?" But that's seriously it. My body doesn't want to talk to me.
With my 2 year old and my April baby (actually born 3/30) I went from nothing (no BH, minimal dilation) to true labor and had the babies within 24 hours each time (with only, say, 5 of those hours being truly painful). Seems like some bodies just work like that, so you never know!
I feel like this little guy is never gonna come out! How do I go from PTL scares to pretty much no contractions right at 37 wks??? We thought he'd be here by now but now I'm starting to think he's just gonna wait till our scheduled section...or some dramatic unexpected appearance before then. Joker, stubborn, and dramatic like his daddy already!
Big babies blow my mind. @sarahufl your squish was born the same size DD was at her 2 MONTH check up. You're a rock star.
The thought of having a little baby scares me! DS was 8#4 and felt TINY in my arms. 6-7# just sounds itty itty bitty.
DD came home around 5.5# (down from 6#3) and DS at about 6 (down from 6#11). Other than not being able to find much that fits them for clothes, itty bitty's not bad
Mine has lost 6 oz since the 6th and is now 6#14 oz and feels tiny! i was 4#8oz at birth and went home when I was 5 pounds. I could not imagine handling a baby so small
Holy shit guys...I'm someone's mother. How long does it take for this to actually set in?
Agree with @imrachellea.. I'll let you know when we get there, 5y later, it still catches me off guard sometimes.. and the thought of being TWO people's mom. *terrified*

Wait til they say you can take her home. Hit me like a load of bricks - what do you mean go home? Shouldn't there be some kind of test to be sure we can handle this? What are they thinking?!?
@AmadorRose You'll get there... Most of the time. But my firstborn is 13, and there are moments when I still think, holy shit, are these really all mine?! Who thought that was a good idea?! I'm definitely not qualified to be a mom!
At two days overdue, one of the last things you want is unexpected problems. Well, was at the grocery store and my car got hit in the parking lot while I was shopping. I mean, come ON. The guy's truck shifted out of gear and drifted backwards into mine. Some minor paint scratching, but the biggest problem that I didn't see until I got home was a crack in the frame above the wheel. I got his insurance and the damage was so small, he could easily have left and I probably wouldn't have been the wiser, so I admire the guy for sticking around. But that's what I get for trying to get out and do something instead if waiting at home for something to happen...sigh.
Oh, cute. Anyone else getting random ads popping up in the middle of threads?
Yup. Including one for the Bump app, now available on the Apple Watch.
I'm questioning whether that was REALLY the best use of funds and talent when they can't seem to get the app to actually function on a regular smartphone.
@nola520 yes, there's no rhyme or reason to all the random adds that all of a sudden are clogging up my page. Also, my stupid computer can't do quote boxes. I haven't been able to quote anyone for the last few days.
My mom made me feel all weird about deciding not to circumcise. That's nice....
My mother legit cried about it for weeks. I don't think it's that big of a deal to her now. And apparently only 30% of the population is actually cut. Who knew?

Aren't mothers great? Mine made me feel all weird because we ARE planning to circumcise. "But I didn't have your brothers circumcised!" Um. Thanks Mom, I did not need or want to know that (or anything related to that) about my brothers.

I know! So interesting to learn. We aren't doing it either and I feel great about our decision.
I was of the "seems unnecessary, but I don't have one" opinion on circ, so I put the final call in DH's hands. He said "seems unnecessary" and picked against. Now I'm just super excited to not have to care for it each diaper change
Man it's sure slow here now. I'm so bored! This is random but my cat actually did something useful for once: he killed a HUGE spider!
Yeah I've been thinking the same thing. The drama as decreased from the tri boards too. It's like they all go to the Real Answers now. My cats were chasing a mosquito. I was wondering why the heck they were running around together and staring at the wall.
Buckle up and here we go - first day home alone with both kiddos. And of course along with a couple feedings, DD fell out of bed and needed snuggles AND DH got a random bloody nose in the MOTN last night. So tired already...

Yesterday was my first day alone with both kids (well, partial because my parents came over). We went to the grocery store and only got about half of what I had intended to get, and I almost had a hormonal meltdown in the checkout because the cashier told me I had to take something off the belt. It was exhausting in a way I didn't realize was possible.

Yup, no way are we leaving the house! We've got a movie on Netflix and will be having leftovers for lunch. Low expectations all around - but hey, we're all fed and dressed

I gave my husband the choice too and he decided to do it. We had it done the day after he was born. He did not shed a single tear, and caring for it has been very simple other than removing the bandage 24h later.
Bought my "victory" bottles of wine yesterday, for post-delivery celebrating: my favorite cheap chianti, and a slightly more expensive bottle of the stuff we drank on one of our most memorable nights in Florence, on our honeymoon. I think I'm looking forward to the wine more than I am to the baby, at this point.
@brenlo42 Its my first day home alone, too. My mom was supposed to come up for a while but got stuck at work. Both napping now. Weighing afternoon boredom vs the likely trauma of a trip to target when they wake up. Even the thought of getting them both into the car seems complicated:(. But the 2 year old was climbing the walls this morning.

My husband and parents were all like "Why did you go out?!" but I figured I'll have to do it eventually so I might as well get used to it. Everything began with a poopy diaper / potty trip, and my three year old was very helpful getting out the fresh diaper and wipes for me, throwing away the dirty one, flushing the big potty herself even though it scares her, etc. so as a reward, I let her walk in the store instead of ride in the cart... that decision increased my stress immensely. Good luck! I'm hoping the weather here will get much nicer soon so that we can go to the park/zoo, but yesterday it was sleeting all afternoon.
I cannot believe I have TWO kids now. Also I'm starving, but brand new squish is sleeping on me and DH left an hour ago to pick DD1 up from daycare and take care of the pups. Im hoping dinner is coming soon...or DH with second dinner
