@Winnie81 - I don't really have anything to say, but I am sorry for CD1, and I am so sorry about the endo. I have exactly 0 experience with that much pain, but I'm so sorry you do. My best friend in college had extremely painful periods and thought they were normally ans she was just a wuss because that's what she was told. When I cam back from class two weeks after we met and I saw her crying on the bathroom floor I flipped. It's so not normal. It so doesn't make you a baby. She ended up going to the docs two years later after I nagged her every single time she was on her period. They dismissed her and told her she was being a baby. I went with her to her next appointment and fought for her. Turns out she didn't have endo but she did have 2 uteruses. One of them had basically a flap of skin blocking the opening so she had 10 years worth of period blood backed up. When she had surgery to remove it, the mass was the size of a football. The point of this being, no one should tell you what you are and what you are not feeling. Even if it is a low pain tolerance, so what? No one has the right to judge you and I am so sorry you are lacking in compassionate people.

My FFFC is that I spent an hour in bed this morning drinking coffee and going through the FF chart galleries comparing first cycle post mc charts with implantation dips and counting how many of them had an implantation dip on day 6. The cycle I had the BFP with my recent loss I had a dip on dpo 6, and then again with this cycle first one since d&c I had a dip again. I then realized I had hit rock bottom when BSC and threw my phone across the room to force myself to stop.

I'm a nurse, and I can't swallow big pills, or random meds that aren't big. I had a whole conversation with my pharmacist about whether it was ok to pierce or chew or otherwise avoid swallowing-whole the tiny progesterone pellets (it is). I always preface those conversations with, "I'm a nurse and I know how obnoxious this is, but..." and throw in, "Should I have my husband hide it in a piece of cheese?" to try to buy some cool points back.
It turns out progesterone tastes terrible but COQ10 kindof tastes like white chocolate.

Oh my gosh your poor friend. I'm sure that was incredibly painful for her. You sound like an amazing friend to fight for her so hard. I had been told all through jr high and high school that it was normal and that I was just trying to get out of going to school. It wasn't until I wasn't able to get pregnant that they actually looked into it. I've had multiple surgeries but the endo and fibroids keep coming back and spreading to different places: theres some on my right ovary that they couldn't remove, and theres scar tissue on my cervix, which adds to painful periods because my cervix gets stuck in a loop trying to contract. I do have 3 people in my life that know and understand what is going on, and I'm so grateful for them.
2 Laps and 1 Abdominal Myomectomy 6 rounds of clomid 5 rounds of iui Several HSG's sprinkled throughout the years to up my chances of a BFP Several dilation of cervix because they suspect the scar tissue is hindering it from fully opening (partially adds to the severe cramps all month) IVF #1 Gonal F, Menopur and Cetrotide ER 12/1/2016

@winnie81 I have similar period symptoms but no endo diagnosis (though it has been suspected by my GYNs over the years). I'm so sorry you have to deal with so much pain, but I wanted to let you know that I completely understand the idea of wanting to be pregnant so you are not in pain any more every month. Obviously, there are other reasons I want to be pregnant, but the idea of a reprieve from my period symptoms is often in my head. ::hugs::

1: I don't have to "stick out my belly to see if my outfit looks good with a bump". It already does. I'm fat and people ask me when I'm due all the time. 2: I win all of the baby shower "guess how big mommy's bump is" games because I wrap the string around me and add a few inches. 3: I can't remember the last time I shaved my legs, underarms, or downstairs. DH loves it though because he thinks it looks like a "real woman" and that women who shave look like little kids and his comeback is always "Why would I be attracted to that". (No offense to anyone who does shave because that's a personal choice and I respect that.)

My confession is I told my H that I intend on blocking the dogs off downstairs tonight because we can't get pregnant with dogs in the bed. Even though I know it potentially has NOTHING to do with the dogs I am hoping my H thinks I'm dumb enough to believe that is what is to blame for no sex last night. This is our window damn it!!!!! I'm not dealing with crappy skin, horrible cramps and extreme mood swings so that he can go to bed early every night!
Being pregnant will be worth it but I dread having to give up retinol wrinkle cream. And wine.
Responding to others: I love boxed Mac and cheese and ketchup on most anything. Also, I am always so relieved to hear other women say they have a low sex drive. Unless we are on vacation, I rarely want to have sex. I just don't ever feel in the mood whereas poor DH is always in the mood. Right now, sex feels like a means to an end and only happens during the FW.
Ok, so can we talk about the whole "upkeep" thing since multiple people have brought it up? My FFFC is what's normal? I don't go around asking people so I don't know.... do you shave/wax/do nothing? I know it's personal preference, I shave, but what's the "norm" here? Why do you do what you do? And... does waxing hurt? That sounds terrifying for an area so sensitive.

FFFC - While I do trim down and neaten up edges - I absolutely refuse to full on shave my pelvic area. I think it's fucking crazy that women do this. Why the fuck do we put hot wax on there and rip all our hair out??? When I used to shave everything bald for previous boyfriends I was always plagued with yeast infections and razor burn ( I also have very sensitive skin) - and for what? so I could look like I was 12 again? Nope. Pass. I was extremely straightforward with H from the beginning that I would never shave myself completely and if he couldn't handle a woman having natural normal body hair protecting her vagina then he could take a hike. I also wont judge a woman who feels empowered by it somehow - I just feel like many women only do it because they feel like they need to for their SO, or they are ashamed of how they will look.
@PaukMeKiande I think its awesome that your DH has that attitude. Mine doesn't care either way which is a huge adjustment to me. In the past I would have to take a shower and shave right before I got in bed if sex was happening. Now, it can be a week since I shaved anything and in the morning after not having showered since the morning before... its kind of freeing really
@loveinak I'm all over some boxed mac and cheese. dont get me wrong, home made is amazing but boxed is amazing and quick!
@I9i personally, I shave. probably more often than I should lol but for me its quick and easy (I started doing it when I was 16, so I'm relatively practiced) I tried waxing myself once but my wax was cheap and wouldnt grab any hair so it just exfoliated lol **TW: previous pregnancy** I still shaved everything while I was pregnant with DS and actually took a shower to shave legs and 'nethers' when I went into labor since I knew it would be a bit before I'd get to it again

@l9i I shave my bikini line but not everything. I do trim with scissors about once a month because if I don't then often hairs get pulled during sex and it hurts I'm afraid to shave everything because I don't want to put blades near that area

I generally shave every 2-3 weeks or so. I prefer a very short trim actually As I don't like the look of bald but my trimmer died and I never replaced it. I don't like it to get to long though because it just feels dirty to me, especially during my period. I have waxed before and I don't mind it but it's just not necessary to me anymore. Would rather spend my money elsewhere. I'll still wax every once awhile, especially before a vacation if the hair is already grown out almost enough. It does hurt but definitely not as much as I had imagined it would. It's more awkward than painful

**Lurker** Coming out of the shadows about the waxing downstairs topics. I used to be a religious waxer of my whole region. I even got to where I bought a whole wax kit and just did it myself. I felt it was such a great way to relive stress. I was also very much single. When I met H, he was super into it. Since then, life has changed and I can't get to waxing anymore. I also hate how long it takes to shave. So I just stick to trimming when I get around to it. H doesn't care either way. As far as the pain portion, lidicaine (sp?) spray is an amazing lifesaver.
@l9i I've shaved since I first grew pubic hair (I remember seeing a woman naked in a campground bathhouse and was so horrified by her bush). I also just have weird sensory issues and hate the feeling of coarse hair . I just got my first wax this past week and it really wasn't too bad on the pain scale, and only about 15 minutes. So smooth! I'm hooked! Now I want to see about waxing my arm pits but I don't want to grow out the hair that long there.
@l9i I don't shave but I will neatly trim down every few weeks.
*tw previous pregnancy mentioned* however when I was pregnant with DS it got to a point where I couldn't do that cause I couldn't see over my belly. So I don't even know what it looked like. And I did not give one f*ck. Lol.

I think what's "normal" is totally you do you. I do a bikini wax and keep a short trim elsewhere. Waxing does hurt, esp around my period (I'm waaay more sensitive), but to me the 30min is worth it for the few weeks of no hair. It's definitely my and my H's personal preference. I don't feel pressured or ashamed, I just like it better for me.
And also, I just moved from a warm, tropical location and my heart is still hurting for year-round beach weather.
eta TBH, the more I wax/sugar the less it hurts, and less hair actually grows back, and I'm a fan of that as well.

@l9i - I'm a trimmer and agree that waxing sounds horrifying! Shaving was always uncomfortable any time I tried- and DH actually laughed at me the one time I shaved "for" him. So relieved he wasn't into it! It's hard enough to keep up with shaving the places people (besides DH) might actually see! It would be pretty sweet if more people thought like @PaukMeKiande and her DH, though. Gag, I sound like such a conformist.

I shave everything. I used to just shave my bikini line, but for my wedding (10 years ago) I got the whole thing waxed and never went back. I liked the waxing, but it was too expensive so now I just shave. My H would actually prefer me to grow it out, and I've tried a few times but it itches so freaking bad that I can't stand it. I like it shaved because it feels cleaner to me. I don't have overly sensitive skin and haven't gotten a yeast infection or anything from it.

Yeah I want to throw it out there that I definitely think that if you personally love the feel of it and do not have health or skin problems from it then you do you and good on ya for it. My rant was not about that situation.
Some people just love to rock their bald kitties like
@l9i I always start with just trying to trim it up but end up shaving it all off. I end up taking too much off one area and then it's not even, then I try to fix the other side and before I know it, it's all gone.
@loveinak this is me. I have intentions of a trim, but then, before I know it, it's completely gone. And then I hate myself. I'm really considering the sugaring, after it grows out again and have them trim and shape it. Just to see how that goes.
And since the only reason I put myself through this torture is because of swimsuit season, can anyone offer any insight into bathingsuits that offer a little more coverage on the bottom, that aren't totally grandma looking? I have absolutely no luck where bathing suits are concerned, hence, putting me in this predicament every summer.

I have no evidence on this... but I just feel like applying sugar directly to your vag is a bad thing. The bad yeasty bacteria thrives on sugar.

@thj101 There are bathing suits that have a skirt bottom. I got one from Land's End a few years ago that just looked like a dress. It was adorable and I got a ton of cute comments on it. The suits they have can be more expensive than other places, though - but they're good quality!
I have no evidence on this... but I just feel like applying sugar directly to your vag is a bad thing. The bad yeasty bacteria thrives on sugar.
Yes yes yes 100% I agree with you (also without having any proper evidence) that applying sugar vaginally would be bad. BUT, bikini area (and even Brazilian) only goes as far as the external vulva. The vag, minus the opening, is all internal. The thing with sugaring is it's direct application and then immediate removal, plus they make sure the skin is wiped off and cleansed afterward. FWIW, I haven't had a single infection post sugaring or waxing!
@antoto I know we're on opposite sides of this thing, but I love the passion you bring to it. Get it, girl!

Yeah I think if you're having someone ELSE apply it then they can definitely only apply it to the appropriate bits. I just imagine if I tried that on myself it would end up in the bad places.
@thj101 Have you ever tried Modcloth's bathing suits? They make one pieces with boy-short style bottoms (as opposed to the skirt style. I think they're super cute, but for some reason the butt always looks weird on me.
One of my FFFCs is that whenever I see someone post in another TTC community and say something like "I'm so glad everyone here is so nice and supportive unlike some other TTC communites where every is super rude to new members" I always assume they're talking about us. Not because I think we're rude and unhelpful. Just because it seems that a lot of the drive-by posters see us that way when they do something insensitive/rude/stupid/against the TOU/some combination of those things and then get flamed accordingly.
Another confession is that I haven't told DH I'm doing acupuncture. He wouldn't understand and he'd probably be a little grumpy about me spending money on something so "crunchy" and nonsensical. So I'm just paying in cash when I go and then making up a reason to be out of the house. Or scheduling the appointments when he's away working so I don't have to explain my absence. What he doesn't know about he can't be upset about.
Edit: I cannot brain today but "crunky" is not the same as "crunchy."

I go through stages - I guess just how much I care at any given moment. I'll decide I need to clean up the bikini area, and end up shaving everything. Then I regret it because when it grows back in it itches, and if I try and shave it again when it's just growing back it hurts. I've never tried the trimming thing, maybe it's worth a shot. DH doesn't seem to care, but I always feel cleaner.

1) I was considering acupuncture as well and wasn't planning on telling H either...
2) Did you just say crunky??? LOL I think you meant crunchy....
Just chiming in on the downstairs trimming: I've shaved it all off every day for as long as I can remember. I had one brief waxing episode that quickly stopped. I'm one of the ones like
DD born PPROM preemie at 36 weeks on 10/1/17 after over a year TI, then 3 failed IUIs, and finally a successful IVF FET.
Due with #2 5/2/19 after HIO once in my FW, because apparently that's how life works now. Team Blue!
@ratparade this is pretty much me. I've always shaved because I was a swimmer and you really need to. I just kept doing because I didn't know what else to do. DH has asked if I'd ever let it grow I'd I've tried for me just for less upkeep but the itching is awful! Once it gets to that point I shave again. I feel like if I could just get past that I could just do my bikini line and trim... sigh...

So, three confessions today.

Responding to others:
I love boxed Mac and cheese and ketchup on most anything. Also, I am always so relieved to hear other women say they have a low sex drive. Unless we are on vacation, I rarely want to have sex. I just don't ever feel in the mood whereas poor DH is always in the mood. Right now, sex feels like a means to an end and only happens during the FW.

Coming out of the shadows about the waxing downstairs topics. As far as the pain portion, lidicaine (sp?) spray is an amazing lifesaver.

eta TBH, the more I wax/sugar the less it hurts, and less hair actually grows back, and I'm a fan of that as well.
