@Blonde1817 oh no! That is so scary! Glad you are ok. My friend was just telling me that her first pregnancy symptom was always fainting! She never fainted when she wasn't pregnant, so she wasn't prone to it. With her 2nd, she fainted at dinner one night, went home and tested and it came back negative. It was too early to test, as a few days later it came back positive, she had been pregnant with her 2nd DD. But yeah, that was always her first clue! All that to say, I'm glad everything checked out normal, and it's still super scary I'm sure but it definitely can be a normal symptom.
@Blondd1817 I've had several faint/dizzy spells but they've all happened post-orgasm. Which I find weird. But was basically told that pregnancy kind of throws off your equilibrium and so you can be weirdly sensitive to things you wouldn't have been before. If you can, try and remember what you were doing before the fainting spells. Maybe something you're doing is causing you to get dizzy??
Has anyone else felt super dizzy or fainted during pregnancy?
Yes I have been very dizzy. My blood pressure dropped significantly since I've been pregnant. Try to stand up slowly, when getting out of bed dangle your feet over the side for a few seconds before standing. Also, drink lots of fluids.
My other symptoms include a super short fuse, lower back pain, and constipation. Honestly though, I always thought that the women on I didn't know I was pregnant show were crazy. Now I kind of get it because my symptoms have been relatively mild and could be written off as something else. (Other than my lack of period and horrendous breast pain that has subsided)
So, I haven't had ANY spotting through this entire pregnancy... until this morning. I had some light pink spotting with no cramps, but it's freaking me out. Why am I all of a sudden spotting now, at 12w3d? I called the nurse and she seems to think everything is fine and I was able to hear a strong heart beat with my doppler this morning AFTER I saw the bleeding, but seriously, body, WTF?!?! We announced on Facebook yesterday and I was feeling so good about everything. Now I feel like shit.
Say a little prayer for my sanity, guys. I'm such a worrier!
@CopperBoom86 I would have been freaked out too but glad you got to hear the heartbeat & the nurse thinks everything is okay. Anxiety is hitting me hardcore right now about EVERYTHING so I understand the worrying. FX & prayers for your mind to ease!
I am just about 12 weeks and my newest symptom is being soooo irritable. Literally everything my husband does is bothering me. I'm still throwing up every day, often multiple times a day so that's definitely contributing to the irritability but he is not helping either. Why am I awake every day of my vacation by 7 am? Oh because he wants to go running and is the LOUDEST PERSON EVER getting ready. So grouchy.
@CopperBoom86 I can relate, we announced on facebook on Wednesday night and then Thursday morning I passed out and had to go to the ER. What awful timing! And of course the nurse there sucked at finding the heartbeat, so I was on the verge of a total breakdown by the time she located the heartbeat. Ugh. FX your spotting was just a random, one time thing.
@CopperBoom86 Ugh, I'm so sorry. Do you think it could have been from your cervix? Did you have a BM or sex? I had pink spotting after straining during a BM. I'm so glad you heard the HB but I totally understand still freaking out. **hugs**

@MRSCORKER - No BM or sex. Those were the first things the nurse asked about, too. I'm insanely happy I decided to get a doppler at this point. I've only been using it about once a week, but to be able to heart the heart beat this morning kept me from having a true melt down. Hopefully, the spotting will subside and that'll be the end of that. I swear, I'm still seeing very light pink spotting when I wipe, but it may just be my mind playing tricks on me.
My crazy symptom this week is that after no nausea for at least two weeks, I had such a huge vomit fest this morning that I busted a whole mess of blood vessels around my eyes. I look super scary, like I just got in a bar fight. And yes, I'm on the nosebleed train as well, been getting at least one a day for weeks. Today it came during the vomit fest. So I was simultaneously barfing from my mouth, bleeding from my nose, and bursting capillaries around my eyes. That's either the most disgusting thing I've ever done or I'm incredibly talented and should get an award.
@WildMama Ughhh that is awful. Hope you feel better soon and the nausea goes away for good!!
OKAY BTDT moms I need your input if what I have is RLP or I should be worried. I've been having a lot of twinges and cramps and backaches etc lately but yesterday was a whole new world of pain. I woke up with back pain and decided to try some prenatal yoga at home to stretch it out. Felt much better afterwards. Then about 10 min later I'm laying on the couch and get EXCRUCIATING sharp pain in my right hip. Nothing I did helped. Finally I laid on the floor with a pillow between my legs and eventually it went away. I was about to have DH take me to the dr if it didn't go away, it hurt so bad. After about 40 min I stand up to go upstairs to bed and the pain comes back almost instantaneously. I spent the afternoon laid up in bed which seemed to help and then felt better the rest of the day except at night on the couch when I could feel a pulling sensation in my hip area. At first I was really worried because I had no idea what it was but I read that RLP could feel like a sharp pain in the hip? Anyone else have this sort of pain before?
@LGW2015 Obviously, this is not meant to replace medical advice, but from my experience there are a ton of things that can cause sharp, horrible pains. For me, they have been -RLP (the worst stabbing/stretching pain I've felt) very possible this is what you're feeling. -Constipation ( YES IT CAN HURT YOUR BACK AND HIPS HORRIBLY ) -Gas ( can be just as painful as constipation ) -Normal ol' stretching from baby growing -Braxton Hicks -Pain from joints loosening up
I would try not to worry too much unless you feel severe cramping or experience spotting, or have symptoms of any type of pelvic infection, and I would call the OB just to get their two cents.
@WildMama I had the same thing happen to me! I'm 11w5d, nausea is way down, haven't womitted in like 3 weeks, and then started feeling insanely nauseous all day yesterday, culminating with vomiting like 4 or 5 times around 11pm, so hard that my abs hurt. Then I woke up at 2am with a horrible cramp in my right side, I guess due to the ab workout throwing up gave me, and I thought I was gonna have to call in sick to work this morning it hurt so bad. But I rolled over to my other side and now it's fine... but man, I thought this close the the 2nd trimester I was supposed to be feeling better!
14 weeks today and I woke up to RLP. Most excruciating feeling ever. It passed quickly though. No nausea this morning, that's the first time in over a week. I expect it to come back but I'll enjoy today while I can.
14 weeks today too, my worst symptom this week is headaches, ahh they are driving me mad it's like a constant pain behind my left eye... My nausea vanished and headaches and tiredness hit me with a bang!
I think I have a UTI. I thought I might before, but the symptoms went away. When I was at the doctor on Monday, April 4, they did not take my urine, and I didn't say anything because I wasn't feeling symptoms at the time and I tend to forget anything but the current moment. Now I'm feeling icky again and my next appointment isn't until May. Debating whether to call in or to try to get one of those home test kits instead. Or maybe the symptoms will go away again?
@RainMira9e definitely call your doctor. If it develops into a kidney infection it can harm the baby so it's important that it gets treated right away. Call your dr and see if you can stop in quick for a urine sample. Mine did the quick dip test right there for me in minutes. But i've never heard of a home test kit for UTI? Either way I'd probably call the dr because if you do have one you'll need them to call in your antibiotics. Hope you feel better!
@BrynB2I got the band. It works for me. It takes a little bit to kick in sometimes. I haven't worn them very often lately because the MS has subsided. Earlier I was having all day MS. I would wear the bracelets all day too because I didn't want to have to wait for the MS to subside if I took a break.
@RainMira9e I saw you're nervous about your symptoms. I'm not sure exactly what you're feeling but I saw you mentioned bladder pressure? I just wanted to add that I was having a lot of bladder pressure and felt like I constantly had to go and had a full bladder even right after I emptied it. I thought I had a UTI too but it turned out to be nothing. The dr said it was probably just my uterus growing and putting pressure on my bladder. It ended up getting better after a week or two. Hopefully you get some answers soon and it's something simple like that or a UTI!
@LGW2015 Is bladder pressure a UTI symptom? I've never had one before so I'm no familiar with signs. But I've been feeling that way a lot lately, even if I just went. And I'll go but almost nothing comes out. Lol. I doubt I have one, just curious if it's a typical symptom since I have a doctor appt on Thursday and was going to mention the pressure.
@krzyriver I read that it can be, especially in pregnancy (the symptoms of a UTI can feel different in pregnancy than when not pregnant apparently). But it could also just be a normal pregnancy symptom haha the most typical symptom is burning. I would just mention it to the dr when you go and see what they say. I was having some discomfort down there too that I could've sworn was a UTI but apparently not! Who knows, my body is a mystery to me at this point haha
I have been so afraid lately that something is not right. Not that anything is wrong. I just don't feel like my stomach is really growing. I know it's stupid because I've been having headaches and was so exhausted and dizzy yesterday I slept until 12:30. So anxious for my appointment next Monday so they can tell me everything is just fine.
I went today and gave a sample. They said they will know something in three days!!! If the uterus is supposed to be "rising" about now would be a good time. It was really hard to squeeze out my sample. I know it could be "normal" but I wanted to get checked out anyway. Like everyone, worried about the baby! Also, my previous pregnancy symptoms have been more off-an-on, in waves, etc., and this has been just a steady discomfort. I know that doesn't mean that it's different, though.
@MRSCORKER Oh man, yes. Itchy belly and boobs started at about 9 weeks for me! I bought this Palmer's Cocoa Butter Formula spray-on oil for pregnant women that I found at Babies R Ys. I spray it on my boobs and belly after my shower before I towel dry. Then I just pat those areas dry. It's worked wonders!
@samijrichards This will sound crazy but try eating raw broccoli. My MIL from my previous marriage SWORE by it for her migraines. I had the bad headaches last week and nothing was working so I ate some and I tell you I felt better within a half hour.
Also, is anyone suffering with Restless Legs Syndrome suddenly? I swore this wasn't a real thing but holy crap I'm awake until all hours with it, I'm going mental. My body and mind are exhausted and heavy eyelids but try to sleep and my legs are tingling, uncomfortable, achy until 2 or 3 am. My sister has this (not pregnant) and takes iron daily and said she puts lavender oil on her feet and hands as well as her pillow and said it has helped her immensely. I go to the doctor Friday but I've got two field trips this week, ortho appt for one kid, Doctor appt for another and I'm drained already. I don't want to just take extra iron in case that's bad just trying to see if anyone else is going through this.
@ladyshark311 I have dealt with restless legs in the past and it sucks! I would highly recommend trying a meditation in bed as you are trying to fall asleep, it really helps me with this. I do a body scan meditation on the app "stop, breathe & think." It is amazingly helpful to relax my body. I struggle to fall asleep because I move around so much and it helps me be still. I've also discovered a couple of things that trigger it for me. One is sugar late at night. A tough one for this pregnant lady, but having too much sugar in the evening really makes me squirmy! Also, I find that working out in the evening can make it worse for me, but exercise in general can make it better.
I also have some RLS when trying to fall asleep. I've had it on and off for years, and no real advice, but I feel your pain!
12+4 and am feeling fat and ugly. I'm definitely not getting the pregnancy "glow". My skin and hair is getting oily and dull. It's awful. This weekend I'm going to color my hair and maybe get a cut, hope that helps.
I had our NT scan on Thursday last week. Little bean was flipping and moving so much. It was cute, but after half an hour and trying trans-vaginally, she still couldn't get a clear picture for the scan. She said it's really normal and the day before they were only able to do one out of 9 moms who came in. I'm not too worried about chromosomal issues due to lacking risk factors, so it was cool to get just an in-depth ultrasound. She took a TON of pictures, but only printed out 5 for us and they were all blurry. It was annoying. I was measuring almost a full week ahead, so I'm letting that ease any anxiety I was getting over waking up yesterday and my symptoms having seemingly disappeared...I'm just telling myself my body thinks it's already in the second tri.

I've suffered from RLS since before I was pregnant. I've noticed drinking plenty of water throughout the day, as well as drinking a glass before bed. No scientific evidence to back this up, obviously, so this is purely anecdotal.
@ladyshark311, RLS was part of why I suspected I was pregnant this time around. It's so weird that that's a pregnancy symptom, but then, what ISN'T a pregnancy symptom?
