I've found in my 16 months of being a mama so far that I've had 2 obsessions that I just can't stop buying for baby,
#1. Sippy cups. We were able to find our perfect brand of bottle for us on the 2nd attempt (Medela bottles with pump at first, switched to Dr. Brown's on formula to decrease gas), but sippy cups I just kept on buying! Soft spout, 360 cups, straws, no straws, etc. Luckily that has calmed down a bit now that kiddo isn't picky.
#2. BOOKS! Oh my goodness. My baby shower was book themed so we started off with a decent library for little man, but I pick him up a book EVERYWHERE I go! Even if they're good deals, it is out of control. We have every little Dr. Seuss/Eric Carle board book ever made, and so so so many others. And he gets them as gifts too (We surprisingly have had very few duplicates, and I plan to donate duplicates to his daycare). But I just can't stop! I love sharing a new book for him, but won't need to buy/have any left to buy for #2!!
Haven't considered yet what my buying obsession will be for #2, a lot of others from my first BMB loved bottle buying, baby carrier buying (Wild Tula fanatics), etc. How about the rest of you? Any first time moms already stocking up on a particular item??

Re: Second Timers (or more) What are you Obsessed With?
Other than that we buy way too many toys (DH is worse than I am but it's so sweet I have a hard time getting upset about it). DS has enough trains and rails to supply a daycare and every single room in the house has a corner or space dedicated to toys. They are taking over!!
ETA I've already completed all the newborn diapers I'll need for this babe and am almost done with size 1.

I go through phases with DD. When she was a year old I discovered Boden clothing and bought way too much for her, oops. Books, toys, hair bows all cycle through.
I am trying to refrain from major buying with this one since we already have so much but I know I'll only be able to hold myself back for so long. I have been looking at lots of wraps and carriers and I think that'll be my next obsession.

On a side note, I'm kind of sad that if we have another girl, I'm not going to be able to justify buying her clothes for her entire first year because we have so many already.

I do not buy my kids books. We have lots, and they like them, and we do read them. But. Last time I bought them new books they ripped them apart. I was furious and now we only get books from the library (and I keep very close tabs on them) , other people gift them to us, or we get them second hand. It just isn't worth it right now to buy brand new books.
@marajay6 We have one of the zoo sets for the GoGo wheels that my parents got DD for her birthday. My mom went crazy and bought all the animals with it, and got her extra track for Christmas, but I want to get more of the sets to add to it.
ETA: oh you mean't for our other kids. Nothing now that they are older lol I was obsessed with baby legs for both the younger ones.
@annas930- I just scored a pair of "Keen" sandals for LO for $3.50 wooottttt. Can't wait to see his cuteness in them this summer!

Same here! We love Little People, and all 3 of my kids play with them. My only complaint with them is that they take up so much room. We have 2 houses, the preschool the horse "stable" thing, an airplane, a school bus, three or four smaller cars. They're so hard to put away.
