@smallcreation you are missing the point. Whether or not the egg is fertilized, it cannot cause any hormone changes as IT ISN'T CONNECTED TO YOUR BODY. It is just kind of there. Once it implants, is the first time it can cause any hormone changes, which is what leads to symptoms.
Also congrats on being a scientist. That doesn't make you an expert on reproduction. Also correlation =\= causation.

Thanks for dropping knowledge that there are multiple hormones in my body. Mind blown. 4. So you're a scientist who doesn't believe in science... 5. Either way, keep on keeping on. What you've said here goes against commonly accepted medical opinion. I'm not going to change your mind, and you certainly won't change mine. Best wishes for a wonderful pregnancy. I'm not interested in a pissing match...
My Symptoms have been minor lots of cramping and bloated A lot! Boobs a little sensitive but not much. But the most is really sleepy and fatigue! So tired thru the day!
AND nausea has reared its ugly head. I didn't have this until 6 weeks last time, and right now its kind of constant-night time, day time, as I sit here typing. Lame.
Yes, I'm a scientist. Yes, I do my research (not on the interwebz as you call it)
I've had some seriously pregnancy-like symptoms when only PMSing, and both times I was pregnant I had no inkling other than taking a test. Sure, progesterone contributes to symptoms, which is why PMS and pregnancy are so similar, and PMS is all you were feeling at 3 DPO unless your O date was actually several days earlier. Plus the excretion of hCG boosts your progesterone and both contribute to feeling sick- neither is likely to be high enough to cause strong pregnancy symptoms before you can even turn a test unless you're having a random hormone flux that was only coincidentally during the cycle you got pregnant.
I love the whole "it's only a hypothesis" argument, too. People say the same thing about evolution and the big bang theory. It's still a lot more accurate than feelings.
Anyway. As of 5+2 (or possibly a little later, I had an ultrasound after a car accident on Saturday that makes it look like I may be more like 5+6) I get gaggy when I brush my teeth and everything smells. Weird dreams and god am I spacy.

Car isn't, but I am, thank you! Paramedics recommended I get checked out just in case. I felt a little silly getting an u/s because logically I know baby is well protected in there, but I'm glad I did because the ab soreness I got later would've had me agonizing about it.

So here is a good question for you - did you come to this board to post? or just to feel superior and show how 'smart' you are (I'm using the quotes ironically in case you missed that)
HcG is not actually what causes morning sickness. Research of scientists and doctors show that they actually have no idea what causes it. They has hypothesis but nothing is proven as research on actual pregnant woman is highly contentious. Expecting Better by Emily Oster does a good job demonstrating this. Most believe it is due to hormonal changes that occur in a woman's body during pregnancy. HcG is not the only hormone in a woman's body, sorry to break it to you. Yes, I'm a scientist. Yes, I do my research (not on the interwebz as you call it), and Yes, I do believe that some women get to experience some of these amazing symptoms at different times than others. My PERSONAL experiences show this as do a myriad of other womens, whom you are free to dismiss. Expecting Mothers do make the best judgers after all.
Hey guys!! I've been reading everyone's posts and I can finally reply! First of all, Congratulations to all of us!
so for me I thought my period was coming... Same exact cramps! Now I'm just extremely bloated, sore boobs , and sooooo tired I could fall asleep sitting up! And that happens about 2-3 times a day. No nausea yet ... I think it's a bit early for that tho right?
Hello! Very new here, as I just got my BFP on Thursday. But, since then... I have had mild cramping that comes and goes. That is about it. Some nights my boobs will get sore, but then it goes away. My nipples also look different, ha.

Only reason I tested was because I vomited for the first time since i was a teenager! Other than that I've had just sore nips, and mild but constant cramping, and bloating.
Symptoms for me are about the same as my first pregnancy in that they aren't that obvious. I haven't really experienced any morning sickness, though my sense of smell is incredible. In fact, that is what made me take the pregnancy test on the day after I was supposed to get my period. I had meant to wait a week since my cycle is often wacky, but I went into the kitchen and it smelled so horrible, and none of the people we had over that day knew what I was talking about, so I knew right then and there. It doesn't make me nauseous or anything (yet), but it is incredibly annoying and gross.
My boobs aren't effected almost at all, but then again I had an intensely hard time breastfeeding my son, and after lactation consultants did everything they could to help me they finally said that I am one of the rare incidents where the glands or whatever didn't develop during puberty (the most I had pumped was 1 1/2 oz and that was after three hours). So I'm thinking that might have something to do with the lack of tenderness and hardness in my chest.
The fatigue though. Oh my goodness the fatigue. I had a break down at about 10:30 this morning because I just wanted to go to sleep for the rest of the day and I don't know how I'm making it through the rest of the day, and the day after that, and the day after that. I just want to sleep the rest of the weeks away...I can barely keep my eyes open!
And speaking of breakdowns, HORMONES! I'm so irritable and tiny little things can set me off. We have a mouse in the house at the moment, and my husband said he was going to pick up traps on his way home from work today. I was super sad about the fact that we couldn't find another way to capture the poor little guy!
I'm really hoping that since this pregnancy so far is reflecting the last one, that it would be the same in that once 12 weeks hit, it was like I woke up a whole new refreshed person. My energy was suddenly bursting and I felt great. Hopefully that will happen again! I keep telling myself that I'm 1/2 way there now!
Yall. I went to the grocery store and some girl in fitness attire handed me a pamphlet and said Hi! We're a woman fitness group for support in losing weight, nutrition, and exercise! Blah blah blah we can help you lose the weight ...
Stop right there. I was like are you calling me fat?? I need to lose weight? I didn't say these things out loud, but pregnant me is very sensitive and moody. I couldn't really listen to the rest.

I have the mid day exhaustion thing going on where I feel like I need to sleep the rest of the day away. However even if I don't nap I usually get a second wind later in the afternoon. Besides that my Digestive system is moving a little slower and just seems off. My boobs must be growing a bit because my bra is rubbing me in places it normal does not. It feels like I have more symptoms now than my other 2 pregencies did, but I also might just be more aware.
I just had the most embarassing incident of pregnancy forgetfulness ever.
I went to the gym with my tablet because I read on the elliptical. Got to the elliptical, decided I didn't like that machine and went to the different kind a row in front. Set stuff down and realized I didn't have my water bottle. Pick things up and head back out to the car. Come back in and realize I don't have my tablet. Must have left it in the car!
Go back outside , not there. Freak out. Go back inside, look all over the machines, not there. Head back out to the car and apologize to the front desk girl that I'm crazy and I don't know what I've done with it, keep an eye out for it etc. Not in the car. Decide that I really want to sit down and cry as I head back in and give a dejected shrug to the front desk girl.
Decide I'll look one more time on the machines I was at......
and it's there, sitting right where I left it.
I was so embarassed. Seriously how long did that last - 15 minutes? Later my mom was like what's been going on with you being so forgetful all the time now??
Not to mention I'm super nauseous and have an upset tummy all around today.

Is anyone else getting these weird tastes in their mouth?
At the moment my mouth tastes something that can only be described as "like chicken broth", even though I haven't eaten anything that would remotely come close to such a taste.
I had my first instance of nausea and dizziness this morning. I think eating lots of small snacks throughout the day is what I'll have to do.
I also can't sleep at night!!! Of course, I fall asleep on the couch every night around 7:30 so that doesn't help.
Thats mostly it. Still some cramps, and extra cm discharge. Oh and I had a crazy moment yesterday where I was convinced I wasn't pregnant and went out to buy two more digital tests...still pregnant lol.
@cgss11 I can't sleep at night either. In fact, at the moment that's the only obvious symptom I actually have. Every night I wake up from 3-5 am, wide awake. I NEVER do that! I usually sleep like a rock. I finally get back to sleep and then my alarm goes off an hour later - not a happy moment when that happens.
Anyone having symptoms coming and going? Like, I feel COMPLETELY normal today. Not a thing weird with me except waking up in the middle of the night. 4 weeks is still pretty early to feel a lot of symptoms right? I have a friend who was telling me all about her missed miscarriage and it completely freaked me out.
Yep. That's me. Yesterday I felt nauseous but then convinced myself it was too soon and I was just symptom hunting and it was in my head. But this morning it came back for about 30 minutes and I've been fine since.
Also random spells of light cramps. Had them yesterday morning, in the night, not since. That's about it for me though.

My sense of smell is crazy today at work! I'm dying! It's a shame I work in the ICU.
Yeah I had clinical last night and helped a woman with the commode. Breathe through the mouth, breathe through the mouth...and I could swear I could smell it down the hall still afterward.
I wasn't sure if I was imagining things at first but now the super smell is definitely here. I had such a pitiful sense of smell before and considered it to be my nursing super power.

I'm almost 6 weeks and I don't feel a thing the fatigue comes and goes, boobs aren't sore, no nausea or aversions, sense of smell is the same most of the time. I think it's fine! I read somewhere your experience of symptoms don't dictate the amount of HCG/estrogen/progesterone. Just enjoy it!
@StacieRpittard I must say that is the only symptom that has been strong right from the start. My "morning breath" or middle-of-the-night breath is completely unbearable and I need to either brush my teeth or chug water or get some gum. I can't say it tastes like anything specific, just gross!!!

Once they're released from the bra, yes lol. Because they're free and no longer have that support. That's why mine hurt towards the end of the day. So heavy. Also if I lay down for a while and get up, they're like a bag of rocks.

Twin B lost 11/22/2017, Twin A doing well.

At the moment my mouth tastes something that can only be described as "like chicken broth", even though I haven't eaten anything that would remotely come close to such a taste.
Maybe it's the heightened sense of smell?

I also can't sleep at night!!! Of course, I fall asleep on the couch every night around 7:30 so that doesn't help.
Thats mostly it. Still some cramps, and extra cm discharge. Oh and I had a crazy moment yesterday where I was convinced I wasn't pregnant and went out to buy two more digital tests...still pregnant lol.

Also random spells of light cramps. Had them yesterday morning, in the night, not since. That's about it for me though.

I wasn't sure if I was imagining things at first but now the super smell is definitely here. I had such a pitiful sense of smell before and considered it to be my nursing super power.

I'm almost 6 weeks and I don't feel a thing
@StacieRpittard I must say that is the only symptom that has been strong right from the start. My "morning breath" or middle-of-the-night breath is completely unbearable and I need to either brush my teeth or chug water or get some gum. I can't say it tastes like anything specific, just gross!!!

Yeah I had toast with peanut butter for breakfast yesterday and even though I brushed my teeth after and had lunch/snacks, I could still taste the peanut butter at like 4pm!! Crazy.
