GTKY: I'm lame today...What is your favorite budgeting advice that you try and follow? If budgeting isn't your thing, what do you wish you could do better?
Rant/Rave/Symptoms: So I saw my new doctor yesterday. I liked her because she actually explained shit in detail to me and helped me understand things better, but it sounds like she only comes to the clinic I go to once every 1-2 weeks. So it's likely I won't have a regular doctor for the remainder of my pregnancy. Found out I did, in fact, fail my 1 hour glucose test. Back to the doc tomorrow for the 3 hour. Fucking wonderful. I also asked about baby movement - turns out I also have an anterior placenta (which my previous doctor didn't tell me), which explains why I can't feel as much movement from the outside sometimes.
What are you doing to prepare for baby? Purchasing the new flooring this week & getting ready to install later this month. Growing a basketball.
GTKY: I'm lame today...What is your favorite budgeting advice that you try and follow? If budgeting isn't your thing, what do you wish you could do better? H and I took a Dave Ramsey class a couple years ago and it was one of the best financial decisions we ever made. Some of the best tips we took from the class were using cash only for all purchases (not including online bills), and using the snowball method to pay off any debt. Other than that, just making it a point to "pay yourself first" by putting money into savings every month - no matter how big or small the amount.
What are you doing to prepare for baby? Getting bigger by the second and hopefully completing our registry this week!
GTKY: I'm lame today...What is your favorite budgeting advice that you try and follow? If budgeting isn't your thing, what do you wish you could do better? We use cash for almost everything. It's definitely helped in the splurge department always room for improvement, but I'm comfortable with where we're at.
Rant/Rave/Symptoms: Rant: Still super stuffy and ears won't pop very often, but I didn't wake myself up coughing last night except once and my husband wasn't wearing ear buds so I must not have been snoring too bad! Also, spring, where are you? Rave: The more baby kicks and moves, the more connected I feel to him. I'm getting so excited for him to be here. 11 more weeks! And...he just kicked! Symptoms: I didn't have to take a zantac yesterday so that's a win. Feeling some kind of sharp pains in my vag occasionally. Light crotch? BH are becoming more noticeable I think.
What are you doing to prepare for baby? Same as yesterday. Baby shower this weekend, couple of classes later this month, still need to sign up for a birthing class, and OB appt. on Thurs morning.
GTKY: I'm lame today...What is your favorite budgeting advice that you try and follow? If budgeting isn't your thing, what do you wish you could do better? I think this is a great question, especially since we're all about to add another person to our families! Fortunately, we haven't really had to budget much, but that will change once I stop working for good in a few weeks. My advice is, don't spend what you don't have, pay off your credit card bill each month, don't do month to month payments on small things (cars and houses don't count), and don't pay full price!! Learn where you can negotiate (thank you DH), and look for coupons!! I'm always impressed by how good DH is with his money (and in turn, ours) and how he isn't afraid to negotiate and ask for better prices and deals when it comes to stuff like cars, carpet, painting, house stuff, etc.
Also, ask yourself, 'do I really need this?'

How far along are you? 32 weeks today, only 8 more weeks to go!
Rant/Rave/Symptoms:Hubby started his first day of work today so I reluctantly woke up at 5:30 with him. I guess I'm gonna have to get used to waking up early to prep myself for feeding the baby but man I'm tired. Went back to sleep after he left and I feel worse. And when I woke up I felt excruciating rib pain, I'm assuming because I kept turning in bed he scrunched up in there.
What are you doing to prepare for baby? Baby shower next weekend
Questions? I'm hoping baby has a growth spurt soon cause It still feels like my belly hasn't gotten any bigger.
GTKY: I'm lame today...What is your favorite budgeting advice that you try and follow? If budgeting isn't your thing, what do you wish you could do better? Ugh I'm no good at budgeting I wish I was but I wish more that I had more of a neat freak mentality. I hate to clean as does my husband which can be troublesome at times.
Rant/Rave/Symptoms: LO must have flipped around or something because it is now hitting something near my cervix repeatedly and it is not comfortable! Rant: SNOW! What the hell VA, get your shit together. Rave: New niece arrived yesterday evening! Madelyn Lee! I feel sort of bad for my SIL though. She was really trying for a VBAC and, while we don't know details, she ended up with another c-section, so she's going to be disappointed in herself. Plus, she didn't want an April 4 baby because that's her mom's birthday and her mom is... overbearing. I hope she enjoys the moment and doesn't think about the details too hard! And I can't wait to visit her!
What are you doing to prepare for baby? Resisting the urge to order pizza for dinner last night and eating healthy instead... lame.
GTKY: I'm lame today...What is your favorite budgeting advice that you try and follow? If budgeting isn't your thing, what do you wish you could do better? H takes care of our money stuff and he does a good job of creating budgets, we just don't do a good job of following them. I think the one thing that helps me is when we set goals for how much we want to put into savings each month so that instead of knowing how much money to spend per "category", we just know how much we can spend beyond the monthly bills. So far, it's worked well and we've put away more than we anticipated!
@mrsschmity sorry to hear that you failed the 1 hour glucose! I did too and had to do the lovely 3 hr test (which is sweeter, heads up) but overall not THAT bad. Def bring a book or music to listen to so that the time seems to pass quickly. I just got back my results yesterday and I passed woo hoo! The nurse was telling me that many women who fail the 1 hr will pass the 3 hr, they make the 1 hr hard to pass because they want to be sure they catch all GD cases. Also, if you do end up with GD it is not the end of the world. I did a lot of research on the diet, and it is certainly manageable for the next 2 months- especially to make sure LO is safe & healthy! Fx for you!!
How far along are you? 29 + 4
Rant/Rave/Symptoms: Rant: We are currently living with my in-laws as we save up to buy a house. I am very thankful that we do not have rent to pay and are secure with housing right now... With that being said, it is getting to be exhausting living with MIL. She will shut off lights in a room you are in "to save electricity." She is the biggest offender with the "just wait" comments regarding my pregnancy, as if I am not a real pregnant lady or mom yet because X or Y has not happened to my yet (I feel like I will be at DS's graduation from college and she'll be like "Oh well just you wait until he goes off and gets married, then you REALLY know how it feels to be a parent!") And recently she has been pushing for us to set up the crib in a spare bedroom on the 2nd floor. We live in the large finished basement and have more than enough room for the crib to be set up down there, and I have said multiple times that I would not feel comfortable having my baby sleep two floors above me (also, can you imagine running up the stairs multiple times a night for feedings? Ugh!) I am holding off on even setting up the crib, because ideally LO will sleep in the cradle beside the bed for 3-4mos and then we will be moving into our own place and I can just set up his crib in his own room... But she won't let it go. She even had my FIL carry the box the crib is in up to that spare room over the weekend. She is not getting it... I know I should just keep my mouth shut and be thankful for all the help we are getting, but it seriously starting to bug me. Ugh, sorry. Rant over! Rave: I slept fairly well last night. I am still a bit tired and would rather be lounging on the couch than at work, but I am thankful for the 8 or so hours of sleep I enjoyed! Symptoms: Same ol' stuff!
What are you doing to prepare for baby? Growing him!
GTKY: I'm lame today...What is your favorite budgeting advice that you try and follow? If budgeting isn't your thing, what do you wish you could do better? I never charge anything unless I have the cash on hand to pay for it. I only have credit cards to build up my credit. For example, if I buy something with my Macy's charge in the store after the transaction I will ask to make a payment and literally pay off whatever I just bought. Anything purchased online will always be paid by the time the bill is due. No late payments, no interest fees. DH and I have no debt besides my student loans, and I am proud of that!
@mrsschmity I'm sorry you have to do the 3 hour test Also, can you book all of your appointments in advance so you can get the same doctor as often as possible? If it makes you feel any better I've now seen my high risk OB five times and he still tells me that someone else is my doctor every. single. time. because she filled in for him once on the first day. *sigh*
How far along are you? 31 today!
Rant/Rave/Symptoms: Rant: OB still said no to seeing a chiropractor and going "swimming" (read: floating). He was all up for me going in the water and then right at the end of the appointment said, "let's wait two weeks for that." BOOOOOOO. Rave: Going out for lunch today with my sister so I'm getting a giant plate of nachos for lunch. I'm sure I won't be able to finish them but I'll bring them home and graze all afternoon, lol. Symptoms: BACK PAIN. Lots of movement which is fun, but baby always stops when H puts his hand on me to feel. I think it makes him a bit sad so sometimes I try to poke it for him. Am I a mean mom already?
What are you doing to prepare for baby? Breastfeeding course tonight. Eating all the food (mostly chocolate).
Questions? I feel like all my real questions are rhetorical today. Anybody else feel like they're ready for pregnancy to be over? Where the fuck is spring?! You know, those kinds of things...
GTKY: I'm lame today...What is your favorite budgeting advice that you try and follow? If budgeting isn't your thing, what do you wish you could do better?
I'm kind of crazy with my budgeting spreadsheets. I just like knowing where I've spent money and it keeps me from going too nuts with shopping. Plus I upload the spreadsheet to dropbox which I can access on my phone. That way if I want to splurge I can check and see what we've already spent that month. Sounds like we're a bit the opposite of everyone else in that we use our credit card for EVERYTHING. I'm a points junkie and we just got a card that has travel rewards so we're trying to bank lots of miles for a trip. That being said, we never carry a balance on the card so using it doesn't put us into debt. I think this system works well for us because both DH and I have a healthy fear of consumer debt (he's a trustee in bankruptcy and I... Well, I've been broke! Thank you, post-secondary education).
Rant/Rave/Symptoms: Symptom-wise, just really tired Rave is that tomorrow is my husband's birthday I am picking up his cake and beer after work. I have my glucose test tomorrow, which blegh, but I took the rest of the day off so that's nice
What are you doing to prepare for baby? Starting to wash all the clothes and blankets!
Questions?
GTKY: I'm lame today...What is your favorite budgeting advice that you try and follow? If budgeting isn't your thing, what do you wish you could do better? We put a large chuck of money from every paycheck directly into savings. We never see it hit checking, so we don't miss it. Besides that, the biggest thing we budget is going out to eat money and we give ourselves around $40 a week. That's where we will blow all our money if we don't watch.
Married July 2014 DD born June 2016 Second due August 2020 (team green!)
@mrsschmity - Sorry about the doctor situation and the glucose test. Hopefully the three hour will be better! @mamanicoleof3- My registry changes every day and I feel like it will never been done since I'm using the amazon one as a personal checklist and registry. I'm sure people are overwhelmed when they see it. @bakerbird525- I have never been into coupons because it seems like they aren't ever for things that I purchase. Is there a website or service that you sign up for that gives you ones that you can use? @kbequette08 - I am with you on wanting to be more of a neat freak! H is much better at cleaning than me but we both struggle sometimes. Our house is a wreck. @kballew10- Congrats on the new niece! Also, on your ability to resist pizza-that is a feat in and of itself
How far along are you? 31 + 1
Rant/Rave/Symptoms: Rant: Basically no sleep last night, I was so uncomfortable and the dogs woke me up at 4:00am. I do not have the patience for ANYONE at work today. Rave: One of the diapers I ordered came in and it is precious! Symptoms: The usual suspects: fatigue, difficulty sleeping, hives, etc.
What are you doing to prepare for baby? Joined a cloth diaper coop and working on building my stash. Also working so I can afford said diapers.
Questions?
GTKY: I'm lame today...What is your favorite budgeting advice that you try and follow? If budgeting isn't your thing, what do you wish you could do better? I am also a Dave Ramsey fan although I'm really terrible at budgeting. I like his plan and do really well following it for a while but then I fall off the wagon. Keeping an emergency fund is huge because you never know when you will need it. I also like the debt snowball but it is overwhelming because I will never be out of debt. Each time one gets paid off something new pops up.
Rant/Rave/Symptoms: Rave: slept through the night last night! Symptoms: just RLP as usual
What are you doing to prepare for baby? walking to a cupcake shop here to get her a cupcake she's been craving?
GTKY: I'm lame today...What is your favorite budgeting advice that you try and follow? If budgeting isn't your thing, what do you wish you could do better? I am awful at budgeting, so my main thing I wish I could do better is save and keep track of everything. I know that seeing the numbers would definitely help me know where I'm spending all my money. I'm sure I could do better at comparing prices and planning better for groceries, etc.
@mrsschmity that's awesome the doctor yesterday actually told you things! Although it sucks that the doctor won't be there often. That Dave Ramsay course sounds really good too! I keep hearing about him, maybe I'll read up on maternity leave!
@BakerBird525 You have some good advice for budgeting! I need to ask myself more if I really need what I'm buying!
@Kballew10 congratulations on the new niece! I'm sure your SIL will get over the details soon Think of it this way - everyone will think of little Madelyn (love the name!) instead of the overbearing mom on 4/4!
Rant/Rave/Symptoms: Rave- Villanova won the national championship!!!! Rant- I am facking exhausted. Symptoms- RLP, reflux, back pain, trouble sleeping
What are you doing to prepare for baby? Right now? Mainly eating
Questions?
GTKY: I'm lame today...What is your favorite budgeting advice that you try and follow? If budgeting isn't your thing, what do you wish you could do better?
1) Never buy anything you can't afford 2) Save, save, save 3) Save for retirement! 4) Trying to pay for all the extras in cash so we're not surprised by the credit card bill at the end of the month!
@mrsschmity Good luck with the three hour test tomorrow! I'm sorry you failed the one hour one. On anterior placenta, I have one too and the doctor told me "You'll be surprised how much they move in there with your next kid." It wasn't as awkward as it seems.
@kballew10 Congratulations on your new niece! FX for an uneventful recovery.
@candicek15 With you on the credit card points! I just pay them off every month.
How far along are you? 29+4
Rant/Rave/Symptoms: My sweet husband let me sleep this morning so I'm feeling a lot better. Sore throat turning into cold but no fever. Really needed that extra hour and a half. Rant: Why is it cold again? Come on, spring! Get your stuff together! Symptoms: Heartburn, feeling big and heavy...cause I probably am.
What are you doing to prepare for baby? Registered us for a hospital tour in May yesterday. My nephew came six weeks from now so that's on my mind...
Questions?
GTKY: I'm lame today...What is your favorite budgeting advice that you try and follow? If budgeting isn't your thing, what do you wish you could do better?
I started by writing down every single expense. I don't buy expensive stuff so I was surprised how little things add up. Helped me lower my spending by about 20 percent. I highly recommend the Dollar Bird app that just tracks everything in your phone. That way I can have a look and see where I stand on any given day. I also think in two week cycles since that's when I get paid rather than monthly. Asking if you really need that is an awesome advice.
I haven't been on these posts as much lately....will try to be better about it (work is a zoo).
How far along are you? 30 w, 6 d
Rant/Rave/Symptoms: I can barely reach my feet to put my socks on anymore...H is going to start to have to help.
What are you doing to prepare for baby? The nightstand for the nursery is coming soon and I tested the baby monitor yesterday
GTKY: I'm lame today...What is your favorite budgeting advice that you try and follow? If budgeting isn't your thing, what do you wish you could do better? H is a BIG saver and always looking for ways to cut. I'm not a big spender but I'm not as into cutting as he is. I do like to look out for deals though and pride myself on making food that is great from whatever we have. I think the biggest budgeting advice is to not sweat the one-time expenses you can't avoid but to really watch the monthly recurring costs and try to figure out a way to cut those down.
Rant/Rave/Symptoms: Rant - Same. Just need sleep. Rave - Today is H's and my dating anniversary! 7 years. We'll be celebrating with a breastfeeding class and then maybe a late dinner/dessert after I'm out of school tonight.
What are you doing to prepare for baby? BFing class today. Trying not to be hormonal and order a 4D ultrasound and waste $100. I go through phases where I think they're dumb and then phases where I want one. I only have a few weeks until they don't offer them anymore with as far along as I am for the sake of picture clarity so we'll see how strong I am, lol.
GTKY: I'm lame today...What is your favorite budgeting advice that you try and follow? If budgeting isn't your thing, what do you wish you could do better?
We try to save SOMETHING every month. H and I both recently got raises so we've been trying to save the "extra" and just live off what we were living off before because we were comfortable and fine.
I personally try to implore the 30 day rule. If I want something weird (like the damn ultrasound) I wait a month to see if I still want to buy it. H can't figure this one out, lol.
Rant/Rave/Symptoms: Rant: I have NO motivation to work, but I have tons I need to get done this week! Rave: The hot chocolate I got from Starbucks this morning is delicious! Symptoms: general discomfort and some pain around my belly button from time to time.
What are you doing to prepare for baby? Setting up the nursery! We have all the big furniture items (crib, dresser, glider), so now it's just a matter of decorating.
GTKY: I'm lame today...What is your favorite budgeting advice that you try and follow? If budgeting isn't your thing, what do you wish you could do better?
I'm not great at budgeting - my husband is much better when it comes to saving money. But since we moved to our new house and got pregnant, I've made a real effort to dial back on my spending. I've started to ask myself "do I need this?" and "can we actually afford this?". If I don't need something, I don't buy it... and if we can't afford it, then I try to make compromises elsewhere to come up with the money if it's actually a necessity.
@MeganF08 : For instance, I always keep all Bed Bath and Beyond coupons since they never 'expire'. That's good for little things, but they help since you can use more than one at a time now (for multiple items). But for big things, my husband will actually buy Home Depot or Lowes coupons on Ebay for super cheap and we use those for big purchases, like the carpet we just had installed. 20% of carpet and materials goes a long ways! And coupons for going out to eat, if we get some for Chipotle or any of the local places, we don't hesitate to use those. I'll never be one of those people on Extreme Couponing, but I'm getting into it more, because, why not?
@Mrsschmity : Sorry about your glucose test results. GL tomorrow!! When I wear a zip up hoodie (only jacket that currently fits over my belly) it totally looks like I'm smuggling a basketball under there!
@kballew10 : I know right, WTH Virginia! I saw snow in the forecast this morning and did a double take. Didn't actually seem to snow here though. Suppose to snow on Friday too! Congrats on your new niece and to your SIL!
@ShawnaG123 : Wow, you are a saint for dealing with all that! Why would you want your newborn's crib to be 2 floors up, that makes no sense! Have your hubby carry the crib back down and get it set up to put an end that! Also, I do the same re credit/charge cards. I have one credit card to build credit and gives me cash back and charge cards for 2 stores I shop at most and as soon as I buy/return stuff, I pay the bill.
@tjenkins528 : I wish I had taken my own advice when I was younger and in college. It seemed like I 'needed' everything back then.

Rant/Rave/Symptoms: Symptoms: Stuffy nose--just spring not pregnancy related? Feeling lots of kicks, hiccups, and rolls.
My family member who'd been taken off of life support Sunday night passed away peacefully yesterday afternoon. He'd fought a decade-long battle with Alzheimer's and its complications, so although it was hard to let him go, it was a mercy for him. My cousin said either a nurse or a family member had been in his hospital room all day except for just a few minutes yesterday, and that's when he passed. My cousin said she was convinced he planned it that way to spare anyone sadness from witnessing his death--sounds just like him
What are you doing to prepare for baby? H is almost over his plague, so it's back to (actually) finishing the kitchen this weekend.
First baby shower this Sunday!
GTKY: I'm lame today...What is your favorite budgeting advice that you try and follow? If budgeting isn't your thing, what do you wish you could do better? 1. Live within your means. 2. We pay all bills and most purchases via credit card for cash back and points, and pay it all off every single month. 3. Build and keep savings of at least 3 months of expenses as an emergency fund. 4. A dollar in a retirement account now is worth $6 or 7 at retirement. Save aggressively, if you can. 5. Mint.com is nice for viewing and tracking all expenditure trends for overall budgeting 6. Don't finance purchases (except house and cars, unless you can cash those too).
Rant/Rave/Symptoms: Rant - My dog got us up WAYY too early this morning and I want to smack him. Also my husband isn't working out this morning like he usually does, so he stole the coffee pot to make regular coffee (I usually get to make my decaf first). Rave - I've been trying to train my dog not to bark at the TV and he's doing surprisingly better. I just hope it continues to improve until baby's arrival. Symptoms - sniffles, stretch marks, tossing and turning at night, etc.
What are you doing to prepare for baby? I have my first of the classes at the hospital this weekend. Its the breastfeeding one and the only one that H doesn't have to go to with me. I'm pretty pumped for that. I'm going to start moving stuff up to the baby's room today - I'd been putting it off so I could paint, but since I'm not doing that now, I might as well start organizing.
GTKY: I'm lame today...What is your favorite budgeting advice that you try and follow? If budgeting isn't your thing, what do you wish you could do better?
I am usually good at setting a budget if I set my mind to it, but H and I are terrible at sticking to a budget. Usually because stuff comes up, but mostly because my H likes to buy things online without telling me and using credit cards that I don't see the statements for. Its SO FUN (read sarcasm) to see the packages pile up on our front porch every week and have no idea how much they cost. Also, with us moving, our mortgage should be lower and we should be able to pay off some debts with the profits from selling. So what I wish I could do better is just take advantage of finally being able to catch up on some of that stuff and actually start saving money.
@mkemommy I love your budgeting advice about not sweating the one time cost items that come up, but focusing on cutting down the monthly or weekly expenses. I do that and it saves tons!
Married July 2014 DD born June 2016 Second due August 2020 (team green!)
@mrsschmity sorry you failed the 1hr, GL with the 3hr! Glad you like your new doc.
How far along are you? 29w3d
Rant/Rave/Symptoms: Rant & Rave: getting ready for a week long visit to SD. H has a required week on campus for his grad school class. Dropping DD with grandma in Stl, so I'll be kid free! Not looking forward to the 19hrs of driving. Still waiting to hear my results from last Thursday's GTT. Symptoms: nothing really.
What are you doing to prepare for baby? Planning to work on the nursery when we get back next week. Maybe.
GTKY: I'm lame today...What is your favorite budgeting advice that you try and follow? I have nothing that hasn't already been said. H keeps a spreadsheet the he updates daily. We use the snowball method for our student loans. We never carry a balance on the credit card. Never finance any purchase aside from car & house. Put the max we can into retirement savings. Etc....
June 2016 April Siggy Challenge: Reasons my kid is crying
@ahernandez16 Damn, not sure if this is helpful but 3D ultrasounds are $300 around here...
Oh damn! They can be pretty pricey if you get like video and blah blah but I just want to see his cute nose... even if it looks like every baby in the world's cute nose right now.
I literally just woke up this morning and was like, "I NEED THIS" despite saying how dumb and unnecessary they are to H over the last 6 months.
@MeganF08 I totally hear you
on the cute diapers. I am borrowing a
newborn stash from a friend, but before I knew that I ordered a couple of ones
with cute prints, and those little newborn printed diapers are so adorable!

GTKY:
I'm lame today...What is your favorite budgeting advice that you try and
follow? If budgeting isn't your thing, what do you wish you could do better?
We are best at saving when we
put money directly into savings so that we never get to see it. Snowballing debt has also been helpful. It’s amazing how good it feels to have one
less payment a month and to have that money to put towards some other
debt. Our biggest challenge is wasting
money eating out; if I don’t get to the grocery store on Sunday, my week is
spoiled because I don’t have the energy to grocery shop and cook after work.
Hello there! I haven't done one of these daily check-ins in forever! But I still like to read them. Can I still play today?
How far along are you? I'll be 32 weeks on Thursday
Rant/Rave/Symptoms: Feeling huge, heartburn, pain in my diaphragm, trouble sleeping
What are you doing to prepare for baby? Making lots of headway with the nursery in terms of clearing it out! Brought up the baby clothes from the basement, set up the pack 'n play, scored a deal on a rock 'n play and bouncer, ordered the co-sleeper, ordered a comfy rocker/recliner...whoa, this is happening
Questions? Nothing major, and I know there's still plenty of time for baby to move, but I still get a little worried that she seems to switch from being breech to transverse. Although, I THINK I felt a foot up high last night, so maybe she's turned? I don't know why I can't just relax and trust that she'll turn.
GTKY: I'm lame today...What is your favorite budgeting advice that you try and follow? If budgeting isn't your thing, what do you wish you could do better? Agree wholeheartedly about paying off the credit card balance every month faithfully. If you can manage that, you are doing yourself a huge favor. And I always drive my cars into the ground, because I LURVE not having a car payment.
@crdo I'm sorry to hear your family member passed. My grandmother went through a similar battle with Alzheimer's. My thoughts are with you and your family.
June 2016 April Siggy Challenge: Reasons my kid is crying
@crdo I'm sorry to hear your family member passed. My grandmother went through a similar battle with Alzheimer's. My thoughts are with you and your family.
Thank you. Alzheimer's is a terrible disease, so it's a relief he isn't suffering anymore.
@mrsschmity glad you found a new doc you like! My doc is also kind of on a 'need to know' basis where he doesn't really explain anything unless it's important -- I think his idea is that he doesn't want patients worrying about irrelevant things but it sounds like yours was just ignoring important stuff. Good luck on the 3 hour!
@candicek15 why no swimming? I haven't been able to do anything active I've had really terrible RLP/probably SPD in my left groin and was thinking about going to 'float' this week to just get the rest of my body moving...
How far along are you? 30+3
Rant/Rave/Symptoms: Baby has performed some sort of acrobatics and now seems to have some extremity wedged in my ribs? Maybe? It makes it really uncomfortable to sit at my desk and kind of hurts it's been going on for over a week now. Also the RLP/possible SPD is killing me. Is this why pregnant women waddle?? Last rant, it dropped from sunny and beautiful to 29 degrees here in NYC, and I put on my winter coat this morning and my belly popped the zipper. Toggles only it is! Raves - My sister and my best friend got married this week, I had a beautiful dress that I sized up and had a seamstress add a little fabric panel to the lining so I felt pretty and fancy without feeling like a circus tent. H and I got some really beautiful pics of us and my belly
What are you doing to prepare for baby? Buy Buy Baby has a registry consultant, and we have an appointment to go this weekend. Basically using it to learn all the things and then do my research online. They let you create a registry with an 'alias' so that ppl can't see it until you're ready, so I'm basically a spy. GTKY: I'm lame today...What is your favorite budgeting advice that you try and follow? If budgeting isn't your thing, what do you wish you could do better? H and I have always been very transparent with each other about our joint finances, while also keeping our financial independence, something important to both of us. We review our joint credit card and bank statements approx quarterly, and will re-evaluate our budget to include baby soon!
Rant/Rave/Symptoms: headache from new contraction med, still stuffy from cold or allergies or pregnancy
What are you doing to prepare for baby? bed rest. it seems to be helping at least! cervix was closer to 2.4 at my appt yesterday
GTKY: I'm lame today...What is your favorite budgeting advice that you try and follow? If budgeting isn't your thing, what do you wish you could do better? Increase savings when you get a raise, know where your money actually goes before setting up a budget

Rant/Rave/Symptoms: Rant-My H is being a real Ass lately, he's absolutely miserable, because he actually has to work more than 6 hours a week, for 2 weeks and is taking it out on me. He wakes up grump and gives me a hard time for every little thing I do/eat. I am really getting sick of his nonsense, all he does is wash the dishes and cook, I do everything else and he acts like I do nothing. Ugh Also, I am a bad mom, I slept right through my glucose test this morning and I have my phone off to avoid the call from my doctors office, I'll deal with them later Rave-We have a new facility administrator at my clinic, who will actually be there every day we are open, even if just for an hour or 2, verses the one we have now, who we see once a month...if that. I have heard she's a real hard ass, but I'm excited about it, maybe she will actually care that 2 out of the 4 people who work there, are lazy and unethical. I do my job per policy, and work extremely hard, so I know she won't have an issue with me, but I'm hoping she'll get rid of my lazy charge nurse Symptoms- BH, RLP, Back Pain, GI issues N/V/D, tired as heck and heart burn. I've said it before, but I'll repeat myself, the only thing I like about being pregnant is the kicks and movements.
What are you doing to prepare for baby? Well I'm suppose to be taking my glucose test as we speak, but I just woke up, so that's not happening. I'm not worried though, I take my sugar daily, at work, and I'm rarely over 70, let alone 150.
Questions? None at the moment
GTKY:
I'm lame today...What is your favorite budgeting advice that you try
and follow? If budgeting isn't your thing, what do you wish you could do
better? I don't follow a budget, I just try not to buy crap. I really haven't been buying anything non baby related, lately. My H has a set amount he gives me per week and I try to put $500 of my paycheck into savings each week. I use a spread sheet to keep track of my bills; when they are due, when I pay them, min amount due and total amount due. I have had one for years and I find that helpful.
@mrsschmity glad to hear that you at least got to see a doctor who gave you a little more information.
@parsonsperson I ask about the baby's position every time I go to the doctor. Of course they always tell me that it's too soon to care, but it's one of things I can't stop thinking about.

Rant/Rave/Symptoms: My only rant is this cold weather. I don't have a warm coat that fits, and I am so ready for spring.
What are you doing to prepare for baby? Nothing much in these past couple of days, although we did get to pick up a bunch of hand me downs from some friends yesterday. I haven't even looked through the bags yet to see what's in there.
GTKY: I'm lame today...What is your favorite budgeting advice that you try and follow? If budgeting isn't your thing, what do you wish you could do better? I'm also a fan of using credit cards for the rewards and convenience, but my advice is to set a limit on how much you can spend in a billing cycle, pay it off every month, and check your balance frequently.

GTKY: I'm lame today...What is your favorite budgeting advice that you try and follow? If budgeting isn't your thing, what do you wish you could do better? We have nice sum in a savings account where we always throw all bonuses and any funds we weren't counting on. We put most things on a credit card that gives us lots of points, but never carry a high balance, if at all. I also have the spreadsheets but it seems to mostly just make me depressed when I see how much is spent on H's lunch (he never packs) and other random stuff. I definitely would like to do better, but getting H on board is more difficult than I'd like.
My cousin said she was convinced he planned it that way to spare anyone sadness from witnessing his death--sounds just like him
Oh, @crdo I am so sorry. I don't know if I ever mentioned this, but my grandma lived with us for a few years and she had Alzheimer's...passed away while in our home in Hospice care. It IS a relief in many ways when your loved one who has been suffering finally passes, I totally understand that feeling. Such a cruel disease that is absolutely heartbreaking for all involved. I'm thinking about you.
@candicek15 - We use our credit card for everything too. Even for monthly bills (if there is no additional fee). Points are the best! We've gotten a LOT of Target and Home Depot gift cards out of it!
@MeganF08 - My ability to resist pizza was greatly aided by H's lunch of pizza and his complete desire to avoid eating it 2 meals in a row. So really, it was giving into him instead of pizza.
@ahernandez16 - H got a raise recently and we're doing the same thing - living like we had been. Instead, that extra money goes to the savings as a pretend "daycare" payment. Really, the price of daycare kind of shocked us into saving more... it's insane.
@crdo - I'm sorry to hear about your family member, but I'm glad it was a peaceful passing.

Rant/Rave/Symptoms:
So I saw my new doctor yesterday.

Symptoms: I didn't have to take a zantac yesterday so that's a win. Feeling some kind of sharp pains in my vag occasionally. Light crotch? BH are becoming more noticeable I think.

Rant/Rave/Symptoms:Hubby started his first day of work today so I reluctantly woke up at 5:30 with him. I guess I'm gonna have to get used to waking up early to prep myself for feeding the baby but man I'm tired. Went back to sleep after he left and I feel worse.
How far along are you? 29 + 4
Rant/Rave/Symptoms:
Rant: We are currently living with my in-laws as we save up to buy a house.

Rant/Rave/Symptoms:
Rant: OB still said no to seeing a chiropractor and going "swimming" (read: floating).

@mamanicoleof3- My registry changes every day and I feel like it will never been done since I'm using the amazon one as a personal checklist and registry. I'm sure people are overwhelmed when they see it.

5. Mint.com is nice for viewing and tracking all expenditure trends for overall budgeting
DD born June 2016
Second due August 2020 (team green!)
Etc....
@MeganF08 I totally hear you on the cute diapers. I am borrowing a newborn stash from a friend, but before I knew that I ordered a couple of ones with cute prints, and those little newborn printed diapers are so adorable!
How far along are you? 29 + 4
Rant/Rave/Symptoms: Nothing new to report.
What are you doing to prepare for baby? We have our hospital tour tonight and learn about hospital admissions, etc.
Questions?
GTKY: I'm lame today...What is your favorite budgeting advice that you try and follow? If budgeting isn't your thing, what do you wish you could do better? We are best at saving when we put money directly into savings so that we never get to see it. Snowballing debt has also been helpful. It’s amazing how good it feels to have one less payment a month and to have that money to put towards some other debt. Our biggest challenge is wasting money eating out; if I don’t get to the grocery store on Sunday, my week is spoiled because I don’t have the energy to grocery shop and cook after work.
Triplets due 6/29/16 also from an IUI!
Rant/Rave/Symptoms:
Rant-My H is being a real Ass lately, he's absolutely miserable, because he actually has to work more than 6 hours a week, for 2 weeks and is taking it out on me. He wakes up grump and gives me a hard time for every little thing I do/eat. I am really getting sick of his nonsense, all he does is wash the dishes and cook, I do everything else and he acts like I do nothing. Ugh Also, I am a bad mom, I slept right through my glucose test this morning and I have my phone off to avoid the call from my doctors office, I'll deal with them later
Rave-We have a new facility administrator at my clinic, who will actually be there every day we are open, even if just for an hour or 2, verses the one we have now, who we see once a month...if that. I have heard she's a real hard ass, but I'm excited about it, maybe she will actually care that 2 out of the 4 people who work there, are lazy and unethical. I do my job per policy, and work extremely hard, so I know she won't have an issue with me, but I'm hoping she'll get rid of my lazy charge nurse
Symptoms- BH, RLP, Back Pain, GI issues N/V/D, tired as heck and heart burn.
GTKY: I'm lame today...What is your favorite budgeting advice that you try and follow? If budgeting isn't your thing, what do you wish you could do better? I don't follow a budget, I just try not to buy crap. I really haven't been buying anything non baby related, lately. My H has a set amount he gives me per week and I try to put $500 of my paycheck into savings each week. I use a spread sheet to keep track of my bills; when they are due, when I pay them, min amount due and total amount due. I have had one for years and I find that helpful.
@parsonsperson I ask about the baby's position every time I go to the doctor. Of course they always tell me that it's too soon to care, but it's one of things I can't stop thinking about.
How far along are you? 31+6
@kballew10 kudos for resisting the pizza....I ordered it instead last night, in a moment of weakness haha
How far along are you? 29 weeks
Rant/Rave/Symptoms: Rant: So so tired...our animals seem to band together and decided when they're going to be rambunctious turds all night. Rave: My boss brought in cheesecake this morning. Om nom nom Symptoms: Been getting a lot of stabby headaches lately which are quickly getting on my nerves, so I might mention them to the OB, since I have an appointment this afternoon. I
What are you doing to prepare for baby? Seems like I'm eating every second of every day at this point
Questions?
GTKY: I'm lame today...What is your favorite budgeting advice that you try and follow? If budgeting isn't your thing, what do you wish you could do better? We have nice sum in a savings account where we always throw all bonuses and any funds we weren't counting on. We put most things on a credit card that gives us lots of points, but never carry a high balance, if at all. I also have the spreadsheets but it seems to mostly just make me depressed when I see how much is spent on H's lunch (he never packs) and other random stuff. I definitely would like to do better, but getting H on board is more difficult than I'd like.
Triplets due 6/29/16 also from an IUI!
