I taught my daughter to say "I'm the devil" tonight because I needed something to make me laugh so I didn't throw myself into the fireplace. File this day under "why am I having another one???!!!!"
I got my "push present" at the same time as my Christmas and birthday present... Lol we traded in my little car for the pilot. But H has said he will order a keg of my favorite beer when we are home and situated. I'll take it!! He also said he will buy those breast milk test strips that test for alcohol content.
I barely ever wear jewelry but I like the idea of earrings or a bracelet or something not ridiculously expensive that would symbolize our son that I would wear and think about him. I think it's dumb to call it a push present; I mean we get a baby out of it so that's good enough!
Re: nesting. I get super nesting motivated and make all sorts of plans. Then decide I am too tired to do any or care that much. Sometimes I get really motivated to ask my husband to do something until it gets done. He's wonderful.
Re: push presents. Totally judge those who demand them. I always love presents so I would take one any day. Not for childbirth in particular! Just for whatever. I actually sort of bought my husband a push present last time, maybe? I bought him engraved metal collar stays of Etsy. One said "She Stole My Heart" and the other had her name. I will likely do something similar for this one.
Push presents are ridiculous. I echo the sentiments that a nice bouquet of flowers or something like that would be nice, but my H has been nothing short of amazeballs through this insane journey. I know I'm growing the human, but he's put up with a ravenous, hormonal, crying, obscenity-shouting Linda Blair for 31 weeks. I almost (almost) feel like I owe him a gift.
Oh that's right. It's his firstborn heir that I'm birthing. Never mind.
This is indeed random but I just showed H a quick (cgi) video of labor progression from early dilation through birth. His first response? Can I bring some finish line tape (like at the end of a race at the finish line) to the hospital for her to break through, I bet the OB would find it really funny...
literal LOL. I love this .
DS 9/2/13 was a BFP from an IUI! Triplets due 6/29/16 also from an IUI!
Ugh. This heartburn is going to be the death of me. It's so bad!!!
My ob said Zantac was ok ? Anyone else hear of that. Tums just don't cut it.
Zantac was in my approved list. I personally use one with JUST omeprazole because it was cheaper lol. I keep tums on hand though for when I need a quick fix and I'm not around my other stuff.
So glad I'm not the only one not feeling the whole nesting thing. Every time I pick something up, DH asks if I'm nesting. I'm like: "No, the delivery bag was blocking my view of the TV." ....
I know this may sound super stupid, but I wish I could spend my day on all fours, simply so this kid wasn't pressing on every nerve and shoving my stomach into my throat.
I 100% sympathize. I feel the same way most of the time.
@CourtJack- sorry your day was so rough how old are your kiddos?
Aw thanks It wasn't the worst just testing my patience. I'm just tired and cranky and my daughter thinks dinner time is like hell on earth. She's 2.5 and my son is 8. I need a drink.

My OB said Zantac is fine also. I take Zantac 150 2xa day.
Nesting: I never nested with my first. With my second though, starting at 37ish weeks I started scrubbing floors, baseboards, the refrigerator, bathrooms, toaster oven....you name it I cleaned it. My house had never been so clean. I'm getting spurts of it this time too, but with two little boys to clean up after I have no more energy.
Push presents: are rediculous if demanded, but sweet when they come from the heart. In my family its tradition for the grandparents to buy mom a pair of diamond earrings for her first baby. After DS2 was born my mom asked what kind of jewelry I wanted, and since I really didn't want her spending a lot of money on me I asked to have my grandmothers ring resized so I could wear it. I wear the ring and earrings every day.
1. Totally agree that push presents should not ever be demanded. Totally negates the sweet gesture. 2. Zantac 150 (or generic ranitidine--same thing) is a lifesaver for me. Was for my last pregnancy, too.
My photographer just messaged me that her computer crashed and all our files are corrupt. We don't have any of our spring pictures
Noooooo. Any chance she has them on the memory card still?
***Ugh stuck in the box. ***
She doesn't. We were one of her earlier shoots, so she had to clear her card out. We've used her a few times before and she's been great, and she's also really inexpensive. 30 minute shoot for $85 and it includes the rights to the pictures.
If she can't fix the files then I'm going to ask for a make up 30 minute spring family plus maternity shoot and a discount for newborn poctures I think. Does that sound unreasonable?

I think that's very reasonable. I'm sorry that happened - what a bummer
Married July 2014 DD born June 2016 Second due August 2020 (team green!)
I think my husband started nesting...I came home to a spotless house. Seriously, the oven hood vent pans were even clean. H knew I was super stressed today with tons of work to do before I have to go to a work conference on Thursday morning (magical how 5 days worth of work still has to fit into 3 when you go to a 2 day conference) and he had a half day today so he spent the other half cleaning and, honestly, that is the most thoughtful gift ever for me...you thought of me, you thought of how you can make my life easier and less stressful and you did it without me having to ask you to. I'll take that as a push present any day of the week over a piece of jewelry.

I'm so sorry! If she didn't reimage the SD card, she can send it to a specialized data center (I can send you the name of a few) and likely have the card recovered despite the corruption on the computer. Even if she erased it, as long as she hasn't reimaged and reshot it can likely be saved.
DH and I lost almost all our wedding photos to a failed SD card. It was a really hard blow, especially the family photos. But we learned that there's a lot they can do now to save photos from most problems. I hope you can recover them, but if not your solution is more than fair. I'd still request she try to send out the SD card.
Umm I haven't nested at all. Like not one bit, not even washed his clothes. We're trying to buy a house and I was thinking I would wait and do everything in the new house because if I have to box everything up it'll just get dirty again but that might be pushing it.
My OB said Zantac was fine. The heartburn is awful!!!
I had never heard of a push present until now!!
I had chocolate cake today for my birthday and it was amazing! I think I might have one of the cupcakes for breakfast tomorrow

Lol!! Thanks so much! And yes I think I know what being a dragon feels like now.. Not fun.
Ugh. I posted on Facebook about my heartburn earlier and all of the responses were really nice and helpful.. Until... This one lady who I barely even know just commented and said "just wait until your ears start burning!" ummm ok thanks for absolutely not helping in any way. Why... Why must people be like that?
I nested BIG time with number one right near my due date (went 10 days over). I even put contact paper in my drawers and broke out the paint to touch up all the interior dings and sanded and painted my back patio steps...this time...I do not see that happening. Maybe I will wipe my toddlers snot?
I never heard of burning ears. Debbie downers you should have responded that you rub raw potatoes on them to help alleviate the sensation. Idiots !!!! Lol
DH got me a pandora charm as my "push present".. Although I'm 100% certain that he has never heard that term. It was the baby carriage and I found it in my car one morning before work with a sweet letter about being the mother of his child. I cried all the pregnant tears.
Ill be very surprised if he gets me anything this time. But presents are always welcome around here!
I feel the need to clarify (in the event my husband snoops my posts). I am not judging anyone who has a husband who decides to get them a push present. I. Love. Presents. I just judge the women who demand them or think they are entitled to them. Because judging is fun.
ETA: Comfy LuluLemon yoga pants are a *necessity* not a push present, silly!

@sdLindenbergI just took a two-day "bringing home baby" course at a childbirth education centre and the instructor said that only 0.02% of the alcohol you drink reaches the baby. She said if you can drive, you can feed. And when the alcohol is out of your system that it's out of your milk because your body has processed it (no need to "pump and dump").
This was the best news that I heard all weekend.
Also, she said that there's info on this on kellymom.com and drjacknewman.com but I haven't checked those out yet.
