So I said goodbye to you ladies last week after my u/s showed a 5+1 fetus when I should at least be 5+4 and my betas were 2469 on Thursday and the then 2770 on Saturday. My Dr told me to expect to miscarry.
Today, I got an u/s so that I could get medication and there is a 6 week fetus (should be 6+2, but oh well) and a HB of 123.
WHAT IS GOING ON?!? H and I are stunned. We already told our families that we were miscarrying. I feel like we are getting our hopes up because there is no possible way that such low HCG can mean a healthy pregnancy. I've had no symptoms at all, outside being a bit more tired the last 2 days. Any similar stories good or bad? I feel like we need to be realistic here.
Did you have another beta drawn? What were the numbers?
Sorry to say, but my last pregnancy also had a growing fetus, slow growth but still growth, and low rising betas. Sadly, our baby boy had a rare chromosomal disorder.
However. In your situation, only time will tell. Keep us updated!
DS Maxwell - 08/25/2009
Wedded Bliss - 05/19/15

I'm so sorry you're dealing with this. I feel really bad being Debbie Downer, but let me tell you what happened to me last time because your story sounds like mine.
Being a crazy first time pregnant person, I was freaking out about my no symptoms, and I asked my doctor around 6 weeks-ish to test my betas a second time even though they don't usually do that. They had gone from 2300 to 2600 in a week. My doctor told me to expect to miscarry, and they sent me for another blood draw two days later. In two days, my betas had gone up to 3300ish. Now my doctor was very confused and brought me in for an ultrasound. At the ultrasound, they saw a 6+2 embryo with a heartbeat of 120.
Unfortunately, I started spotting two days after the ultrasound and had miscarried completely less than a week later.
I truly, truly hope it turns out better for you. I know you haven't had an easy road, and I can completely empathize and sympathize with the emotional roller coaster you are going through right now! Not knowing what is going on is exhausting and devastating. I hope you get your answers soon, and I am here if you need someone to vent to.

Thanks you @BooksForMe23 and @WinchestertoPittsburgh I definitely need to hear this reality. No blood draw scheduled at this point, waiting for the Dr to get the radiology report.
I'm going to take the cheer squad route and acknowledged that it looks like a pretty good growth spurt to have caught up a day!!! FX. And sorry you're in limbo again.
Well the on call Dr just called me screaming with excitement after seeing the u/s report. She said she doesn't believe in HCG levels after seeing my tests because a heartbeat should not be possible with my numbers. Praying that this little one sticks. Dr Google has told me all kinds of messed up things about chromosomal issues, etc. I'm still hoping for my vanishing twin theory.
@chloe97 I would maintain cautious optimism at this point. I can't speak to hcg levels, because I didn't have them tested for my two losses, but with my MMC, I saw a heartbeat and a fetus that measured 6w1d and a week later it was the same size and no longer had a heartbeat. --I was supposed to be 7w6d based on ovulation when I had that first u/s, and right now you are measuring on track, so that is good news.
I want to be a cheerleader, but personally, I deal better with disappointment/loss if I'm not blind-sided by it. When I measured behind, my doctor said I had nothing to worry about. I was still concerned, but when my husband heard that the doctor wasn't worried, he said I was worrying for no reason and being silly. And my bmb flooded me with positive messages about how everything would be fine. So at the next u/s I was expecting good news and was devastated.
I have my fingers crossed for you and I really, really, really hope everything goes well. But you said you want to be realistic, and I'm the same way. So I will wait for more news from you and keep my scream of excitement ready. I wish you so much luck.

I agree with @CarrieandRoy , i had a similar experience with my second loss. I had betas checked half a dozen times and they rose but very slowly. When i went in for the 6 wk u/s the baby was measuring on track or very close and we saw a hb. My Dr. was cautious and said it honestly could go either way. He said he would need another scan to have a definitive answer. I went back a week later and got the answer I had dreaded. I personally can't put any stock in just "seeing" a hb so early on, we saw it w both losses. That is just my experience. I would be cautious but I hope your situation turns out differently than mine did!! I will be thinking good thoughts for you and waiting to hear your news.
Oh my goodness! I hope it all turns out! Unfortunately with mine, I still saw a heartbeat despite low numbers (my doctor was completely confused), but I have my fingers crossed for you!

So far, so good. Started progesterone. I got the u/s report today. Baby measures 6+2 which would make his/her conception within 48 hrs of my positive OPK. Heart rate of 123 and no other findings besides my fibroids which I knew were there.
My next appt is Monday. I had a MMC last time, so I guess it's not unlikely that I would have no spotting or bleeding with a MC. Assuming the heart is still beating, I'm going to push for weekly u/s. They won't test my HCG again. No progress on pregnancy symptoms either. I'm just having a hard time believing this could be a viable pregnancy, but both signs point in opposite directions!
The low hcg and lack of pg symptoms would go hand in hand. The big question is whether the low hcg rise is a problem. So puzzling. I'm definitely rooting for you. Fingers crossed!

I also had slow rising hcg levels. I had 2 losses but found out later they were due to mthfr. My current pregnancy was also slow rising. I asked to stop having blood draws after the 3rd time since I thought it would be over anyway. I am currently 28w4d so you just never know. Since I am high risk I did see my ob every week for u/s's till I was 14 weeks. I still get an u/s every appt. it really helps calm my nerves.
We have another good heartbeat. 143 at 7+1. My Drs crappy u/s machine measured the embryo 4 days behind last time and did again this time, but the sophisticated hospital machine measured us perfectly in between, so my Dr is not worried about the size. She says that she is strongly cautiously optimistic and this point. We go back in 2 weeks assuming I have no spotting, etc.
Wow, that is wonderful news! I'm so happy to hear it! Fingers still crossed for you, but this sounds promising.

That's great news! ... My levels were low and slow rising. I believe this pregnancy started at 77 and the highest it went (6 days later) was 200 and something. My ob said she doesn't really like to go by the numbers beacause not everyone is "text book"
I hit send to fast haha... I believe symptoms started around 6-7 weeks. They weren't that bad in the beginning. I would say 9-14 weeks was the worse for me.
@lilp2015 I swear that my symptoms started this morning. Woke up starving and have been feel more intense stomach unrest. It could just be the progesterone though. Are you considered high risk because of Mthfr?
I am considered high high risk. Mthfr GD short cervix. I'm on strict bedrest. Have been since 25 weeks. I was in the hospital for the steroid shots. I also took progesterone till 14 weeks so I wasn't sure which was causing the symptoms. I'm on progesterone again but this time it's vaginaly.
For what it is worth my 3rd pregnancy (first successful) had the lowest, and slowest rising betas. They slowed even further after they hit 1000, I was on progesterone for the first tri and had my son in Nov.
@GoogleMD that is so great to hear! Did you have any other complications during your pregnancy?
I was induced at 38weeks because i developed high blood pressure the last month. The indcuction went very smooth though, 9 hrs of labor and he was here. He was very alert and started BF shortly after birth, I can't complain a
@chloe97 - I remember you from TTCAL. We were cycle twins. I'm just getting back on here after a long hiatus, and read through that emotional roller coaster ride.
