BFM 4/4

Re: BFM 4/4

  • Woke up at 2:45 to pee, couldn't go back to sleep.  Finally after 1.5 hours of reading I fell back asleep.  DH wakes me up when his alarm goes off at 5:45 and I roll out of bed thinking I'll have a nice shower and kick the day off right after spring break. I glance at my phone, and it's not 5:45....it's 6:45.  He set his alarm wrong.  I have to leave the house in 15 minutes.  No time for a shower, no time to eat breakfast, time enough to throw on clothes and deodorant, my hair in a messy bun, and get out the door.  UGH!

  • Seems like everyone got their high hopes that LO would of been born by now since I was being treated for PRL. Now it's super annoying getting tons of text messages asking for updates. Please stop!

Also I thought I'd enjoy being off BR and enjoy being out but I'm starting to hate the public comments and crazy staring contest with my belly.

I'm sure I'll have more later if I don't show progress at my appointment today.

    Oops double post. Stupid phone!
  • I only got maybe 3-4 hours of sleep at best, broken up into segments. I've been having contractions since around 8 pm but they were inconsistent and they did not intensify. They were also impossible to sleep through and whenever I laid down my tailbone hurt so much and my back pain was so much. I'm going to try and make it a whole work day because I can't afford to take any time off, I'm already short some hours when I start my MLOA.

Cannot. Remove. Wedding. Ring. Since last Thursday... Here's to hoping my hands don't swell anymore, or I may just as well lose this ring finger!
  • Just waiting for a call from the hospital for instructions on our induction..... I hate waiting.

LO just break the water already!
  • DH & FIL "fixed" our dripping shower yesterday. This morning we discovered water all over the floor of the garage (under the shower). Instead of calling a plumber, DH is working from home and FIL is coming over to "fix" it again. Ughhhh.

  • I am sick of people asking about what middle name we're giving LO. We don't freaking know. If we did know, I may not tell people just for spite. Stop asking me!

We went out to eat a few weeks ago and this random lady followed me around the restaurant suggesting names, AFTER I told her we had picked a name, but were not sharing as we didn't care for anyone's opinions.  Apparently she took that as: "we're undecided."
  • Yeah, if my body could figure out what it wants to do, that'd be great. BP is high again today and since the hospital I go to just changed over to a new building, I can't even find a good phone number to call to leave a message for my midwife. I've called 4 freaking numbers and none are working. My BP is high, I'm lightheaded, and I'm seeing red blotches when I close my eyes. I do not want to go in for monitoring unless I absolutely have to because I can take my BP from work, but I would like to keep my midwife informed. Ugh.
  • Still pregnant.  That is all.
    This. SO much this.
I still have two weeks and this is how I feel. That and being at work

  • I had a rare moment of lessened pain and I kicked a soccer ball to my niece on Saturday when it came in my direction, and I'm pretty sure I totally separated my pelvis. I can hardly move. Not that I was moving particularly well to begin with thanks to this SPD pain, but holy. shit. this was unreal. I feel like the world's biggest bozo and am still mad at myself over it.

The thought of almost 3 more weeks of this is just torturous. We're no longer considered pre-term, let's do something girl!
  • I was in the hospital overnight last week--thought they were going to induce me then but instead on bed rest...anyway, hospital gowns are the worst.  Why are they so gigantic and one size fits all?  Can't there be multiple sizes??

Also, second the fingernail clipping at work.  Why co-workers, why???

Another, this is more of just a slight annoyance. I feel like being scheduled for induction *prior* to your edd puts the mom shaming in motion. Like you're expected to give a good reason as to why you're being induced early. As if *you* could simply go to your doctor and say "hey, i'm tired of being pregnant, schedule me for induction". I trust my dr and if she thinks I need to be induced 3 days early then I need to be induced three days early. I don't need the opinion of an arm chair doctor or need to convince you that it's necessary.
I so needed to see this. I have been on a serious guilt trip and doing everything I can to get him to come before Thursday  (my induction date) because I feel guilty that I have to be induced. My entire family and friends have completely supported us and have had nothing but encouraging words to say (aside from my psycho MIL who doesn't talk to us anyways).  But it still feels like I've failed and it stinks.
  • So I found out that the DMV has not issued my new license because it's set as "pending" because the mail form got sent to the wrong office and they assumed payment was not received. Wtf? It's been over a month and payment was processed within the week it was sent.

Yes! I'm not scheduled for induction but I keep getting elevated BP readings and I'm freaking out. I will not but upset if they decide at my next appointment (39+1) to induce to be safe. They probably won't, but I'm so stressed about not being able to keep it steady that I'm probably just making the issue worse.
That, and I'm really excited about the potential for life without lightening crotch.

I think the shaming comes from the women who try to ask for an early induction without a medical reason.  I am willing to bet that there has been a doctor or two that has complied though.

I completely agree with you.  It irritates me to no end that so many people think they know more than the doctors.  Especially those that have not been part of the conversation since day one.

I think a lot of people don't understand what a scheduled early induction actually is.  I mean, when it is scheduled, it's because the doctors think you can safely make it to that date, but don't want to increase the risk by going beyond that date.  HOWEVER, they will adjust that date based on your monitoring.  (With my OB we were looking at an induction on the 11/12, but based on my increased monitoring, we might be looking at tomorrow now.)

  • Drove to the train station this morning... not a single parking space within several blocks.  Missed my train while searching. Finally found a spot that I think is legal (the other side of the street has signage forbidding parking on Mondays between 7AM to 9AM from April 1 through October 31 for street cleaning, but there's nothing on the side I parked on). Get out of my car, race to catch my late train... and watch from the platform as the cops park at the end of the block, get out of the car, and start writing tickets for cars parked on the side of the street that's marked no parking. Even if I'm parked legally (I think I am?), odds are good I'm about to get another ticket for expired plates (got one at 9 a.m. on 4/1 for a plate that expired 3/31... the state of IL no longer sends out renewal notices and I never thought to check because I've never not gotten a notice). Joy.

While I will not contest that I'm a terribly irresponsible person for not having known that my license plates expire in March (and for not getting them renewed this weekend after I realized there was a problem), the fact that they're out there writing tickets for expired plates within 12 hours of expiration, and the fact that they're out there ticketing within the first 45 minutes of parking being illegal in a specific zone, when it has been entirely legal for the entirety of the previous year, seems just a little predatory. Jerks.

To top it off, I forgot my phone at home and all of my registration paperwork in the car. I don't know my license plate number, either... there goes my plan to walk to the DMV over lunch for new stickers. Guess I should have gone to the super-shady 24 hour currency exchange Friday after work instead. Booooo.
  • Sick of all the false alarms.  I was miserable last night with severe back pain.  Couldn't really walk or move.  It was terrible.  I kept bawling because of the pain  Started having contractions again.  Called the Dr and they said it wasn't back labor but normal 38 week crap and told me to stay home.  I just want the contractions to stop or get worse so I know she's on her way.  To make it worse woke up this am feeling great.

  • My employer lost my address, birthday, and social security number. I'm relatively sure they threw the book away that it was in, which although not safe, would be better than them just leaving it laying around somewhere. :rage: All I got out of them asking for my information again was "yeah. Sorry about that... I'm sure it's here somewhere!"

Oh and btw you were supposed to have sent me my information for filing taxes by the end of January! Not a few days before taxes have to be filed legally! Ugh... First time business owners are idiots. (In this case. Don't flame me)
  • I'm 6 days pp with #3, today is hubby's first day back at work. I don't understand why people keep telling me how hard and impossible today should be. My 4 and 2 yr old have a handful of their normal squabbles. But today really has been a good day. my house is clean, kids and i dressed and showered, and im content.

Stop telling me it isn't random family members.

  • My ex (DD's dad) seems to think that it's totally appropriate to dress our 5 year old as a trashy hooker for school. I have discussed the fact that leggings on a child with a bubble butt are not appropriate to wear as pants...so today, he put her in a lacy tunic with cheetah print leggings.  No sleeves, no jacket, it was 44 this morning.  Yes, it's 80 now, but she needed a jacket this morning and he sent her with nothing.  I cannot wait until she starts kindergarten for the sole fact that our schools wear uniforms.  At least he can't make her look like she's headed to dance on a pole.  UGH!!!

Totally agree!!! It also bothers me that someone might start to doubt their doctor's judgement because of what a bunch of people "decide".

oh no, not my goal at all. I just have family on hubby's side texting and asking how rough today is and how I possible can't be getting anything done.

False contractions left and right! I swore last night that it could have been the "real deal" but then I went to sleep, woke up and was better. Oh yes, almost forgot. My vagina still feels like it's going to fall out with all this pain and pressure. I can't shift in bed, let alone walk normally without wincing I pain.

My 4yr old lives in leggings. Around the house I don't care, but when we leave she has to put a skirt/dress on. She HATES jeans, refuses to wear them, has since she was about 2. Not sure if it's a texture thing or what.

So I understand the struggle. But weather appropriate stuff is a must on his part. does he let her choose what she wants to wear and just goes with it we all know the interesting fashion sense that age group has lol.

This is so me.  I texted DH to tell him that my contraction were back and he relies with, what else is new?  I know he's fed up too but don't ask for updates if you don't want to hear about it.
