  • I missed your original post but I just wanted to reiterate what everyone else is saying! He is such a beautiful baby and I am so glad everything went so well. It is amazing how positive and strong you and Jaxon is lucky to have been given you for his mama!

  • Wow they did an amazing job! You have a beautiful little dude. How are you holding up?
  • So glad Jaxon is doing well! Many thoughts and prayers for a quick recovery. You got this, us mommies have reserves of strength deep down not just in our bones but in the marrow. It's ok to break down and be scared he won't remember any of this, all he needs is his mommy.  Hugs
  • Thinking of you and your LO. I hope his recovery is going well!! My son had his cleft lip repair at 10weeks old, the first week was rough but he healed quickly as babies do and looks and feels great now. Two things no one warned me about that are normal: really bad gas which made his crazy, and very congested from the surgery. If you have any questions or want someone to talk to, feel free to message me.

  • Sending you good thoughts and hope for a fast and speedy recovery for your little guy!  He was and still is such a little cutie.
  • I always enjoyed pics of your son because he's so adorable. He's adorable post-op too!

What a brave boy. Listen. I had a good few eye surgeries in my life and my first one was at 18 months old. And while i remember (to this day) every waking moment of the whole ordeal (the surgery kick started my long term memory so it was a defining event) i was not in the least traumatized from it. Annoyed, irritated, upset and cranky, yes indeed. Frustrated, you bet (though most of that was from being nearly blind after the surgery due to patches over my working eye) but did it leave me with any lasting trauma at all? Nope! Glad my folks did it. Now i can see much better than i would have without it. Without the surgery, i would likely be legally blind. I love my mum and dad for making that really hard choice.

So listen, I realize that as a parent, the terror of that day and the worry about how he handled it is probably really real. It was for my mum and i know if Olive needs any surgeries, I'll feel the same way. You're very brave!

But he's gonna be just fine. And he's gorgeous beyond belief, both before and after.

Good things coming for you both, nothing but good things :)
  • Glad surgery went well! Praying for a speedy recovery!
