@br0co1ii I hear ya. I'm going through the same thing as well, lots of cramps and twinges. I've been having crazy allergies and lots of sneezing so now every time I'm gonna sneeze I grab my uterus to brace myself for the cramps ha I assume it's the growing and stretching but you're right, better safe than sorry if it doesn't get better! Hope you feel better.
What is bothering you the most? Back pain. Started a couple weeks ago. I think it's from being off work and sitting on a couch tht doesn't support me. But starting back at the salon on Friday didn't help.
Anything improving? Morning sickness is mostly gone. It popped up for a bit today, but went away pretty quickly.
I was feeling better, thought I was over that hump of feeling awful then this weekend hit and I've been miserable! Nausea, severe headache that I've had since yesterday morning that will not go away and such insane fatigue. I'm 12w tomorrow and here I was thinking I was in the clear.
@LGW2015 I'm so sorry to hear about your friends, that's so awful and I can't even imagine going through that.
Hi ladies, Ive been so poorly with diarrhea and stomach cramps this weekend it's been horrendous, I'm 13 weeks today. Anyone else had the same? I'm trying to work out if it's part and parcel of pregnancy, hormone changes etc or something I've eaten.
@sidecarsareforbishes The best is that my OB refuses to prescribe zofran because my specific gravity is fine and there are no ketones in my urine. So she says I'm eating enough and staying hydrated. Except all I can eat is french fries and fruit smoothies, and I'm F@$&ing miserable ALL THE TIME. I am considering quitting my job and I have skipped an outrageous amount of classes. My grades are very poor this semester. I asked her once for a prescription, my husband asked the second time, and he's basically going to call back tomorrow and beg for a prescription. Maybe she'll allow us to use Reglan instead, which is a category B (even though I feel zofran is perfectly safe--and it's also category B ).
@br0co1ii I began taking that nightly when she suggested Diclegis. (Except it's actually Unisom and not Benadryl.) I can't imagine paying $35 for 30 pills (no generic) when I can make it myself at home. It has not really helped. I'm no longer nauseous all day long, but now I vomit 2-3 times per day. And it's not like barf, oh now I feel better. It's fifteen minutes of violently vomiting up anything in my stomach, and retching up stomach acid if there's not anything in there.
@von1976 ew. Okay. I'm so sorry you have to deal with that. Hopefully not much longer though! My nausea/vomiting has been reduced to 1-2 times a week at this point, so hopefully you start to get the same releif. I know what you mean about job/school. Luckily I didn't have it nearly as bad as you do, but my work/grades were suffering pretty bad for a bit there.
@von1976 I called my ob office after not being able to drink liquids without vomiting for nearly 2 weeks. I could only tolerate smoothies and shakes. So I called my OB office and the nurse told me to just eat/drink what I can tolerate. I almost blew a fuse. I told her I couldn't take not being able to drink anymore. She then agreed to ask my Dr to prescribe something. I got the prescription for zofran and it helped, but not all the time. Some days I'd take it and within minutes of it completely dissolving I'd be vomiting. Last week I vomited 4 days straight. On the last day I vomited 6 times in now day. It was terrible. I called the office and must have gotten a different nurse. She called in phenegran (not sure of spelling) suppositories, because I couldn't go more than 45 minutes without vomiting stomach acid. It was a rough day.
I guess I said all that to say I've finally felt ok for 3 days now. I'll be 14 weeks tomorrow. I hope this is the end. I don't know if I could survive a whole pregnancy of the vomiting. Also I really hope you start feeling better soon, and I hope your DH can talk your Dr into getting you some zofran. It helps a ton, most of the time.

Have any of you tried Meclizine. It's OTC, Cat B, usually for motion sickness. I've been taking it pretty much since 5 wks and it is the only sure thing for me. I'm also really prone to motion sickness anyways. But it doesn't make me nearly as drowsy as the Diclegis did for me. I couldn't take the diclegis and function. The meclizine has been my life saver and it usually lasts for 24hrs for me, and it's cheap. Just a thought.
Round ligament pain! Did a lot of couch sitting while visiting my very pregnant friend this weekend. I quickly learned not to stand up too quickly after having some really sharp pains. Yeowch!
acne. Oh joy. The pimples. They started on my forehead up high and have now traveled south to my temples and my entire forehead.
Otherwise can't complain! Just waiting for the 'glow.'
What is bothering you the most? My blump! I can't believe I may have a month or more of this super awkward in-between stage of belly. For people who know, its starting to look like a baby belly, but to strangers I'm sure it just looks like I've had a few too many beers and cheeseburgers! I want to be able to have a legit bump and wear tighter shirts rather than hiding the blump. I really hope I pop by the time we go on vacation in May. I'd much rather look preggo in a swimsuit than have a potbelly.
Anything improving? Basically everything! Well, except the bloat, that's the same. But really no more mild nausea, no more constipation, energy is up. My appetite is still way up and I think I need to be more careful about not overeating. Grateful that I haven't experienced RLP yet. I had some cramping early on in pregnancy and it suuuucked.
Any questions we can help you out with? Tips on dressing the blump?
@Blonde1817 I don't have any tips, I can't hide it anymore haha even my flowy shirts are tight around my belly. Although I'm sure it just looks like a pot belly to others. Unless I go out to eat, because then by the end of the meal my bump gets hugeeeeee. I just went shopping this weekend for some long shirts to go under my flowy ones, a couple of comfy stretchy skirts, and a few more flowy shirts that hopefully will last a little while. This awkward stage is definitely so frustrating to find clothes that fit right!
What is bothering you the most? ALL of my symptoms are gone, but I'm hearing baby's heart beat on my doppler consistently, so everything is a-okay!
Anything improving? Yep, what few symptoms I had to begin with are now gone. I told DH yesterday I now understand the whole "I didn't know I was pregnant" thing. Aside from the absence of a period, I've yet to have any extreme symptoms that would make me think I'm pregnant if we weren't trying. So crazy!
Any questions we can help you out with? Nothing really, I just wanted to add my two cents to this thread just in case there are any other ladies out there worried about a lack of symptoms.
I feel like I'm in the phase too! Just looks like I've gained weight in my stomach and everything else is the same size. Hopefully our blimps will turn into bumps soon!
11 weeks tomorrow. I'm with you all on the nausea and vomitting. I'm on vacation with the hubby and I puked so much after dinner at a fancy restaurant that I clogged their toilet. So embarrassing. The waves of nausea come on so fast I have to throw up wherever I am. I'm really hoping this passes soon!
@SonyaL9, this pregnancy has caused me to become completely lactose intolerant. It took weeks for me to figure it out but daily diarrhea was awful. I finally tried cutting out dairy and am now symptom free. Maybe you could give it a try too?
Maybe I'm just freaking out. But I feel like my Blump has went down, my belly looks smaller. I'm 12w 6d today. Is this normal? Had nausea this morning but nothing after that. Just a bit of backaches. Any suggestions? Anyone experience something similar before? ( posted this on the wrong board earlier lol)
@Blonde1817 - did you find stretchy skirts? I've been looking but haven't had any luck. A few maxis, but I was hoping to find shorter ones too.
11+3 today. I had some weird cramping yesterday, not AF-like, but just different. This morning I woke up and my blump felt really firm, especially on the left side, so that's weird...I've been battling on/off nausea all day today. Luckily, starting this weekend my insatiable appetite seems to have subsided some. I'm still having cravings but no longer ravenous every 2 hours + only wanting junk food.

Has anyone else who has a doppler not been able to find baby's heartbeat? I've read it's super normal to not be able to find it until 14+ weeks but everyone else seems to find it so much earlier. I'm 11+3 and haven't tried since last week, but had no luck. I was the upper end of average size before getting preg, so maybe that's why.

Mamas, I have a question and can't find an appropriate thread to post in, and this seemed the most appropriate.... (didn't want to start a thread).
I have my NT scan today at 430PM (PST), and I want to know what usually happens? It's not with my OB, she sent me to an ultrasound specific place instead.... I know the NT results are tied with the blood test results. So will the technician be able to tell me if everything looks good? Or will they just not say anything and tell me that my doctor will explain everything?
I'm 13w6d (measuring 14w1) and my MS has been replaced with insane food sensitivities/vomiting that seems specific to eating anything fried or too fatty, or having too much sugar. So in a weird way, it's keeping me extra healthy...which I guess is good? Fatigue is still very real but eased up, boobs are still super sore when touched but otherwise ok, blump is still out of control. I'm also with the wow-RLP when sneezing or sometimes when standing up! What a weird feeling, I'm still not used to it!

@LGW2015 I crossed that threshold last week!! I literally sneezed as I walked into the bathroom after my commute home, feeing like I was about to pee my pants anyway...thank goodness it was only a tiny drop, all I could think as I sneezed was "Noooooooooooo!"
@MorganL925 I only tried a couple of times during my 11th week, but I couldn't find the heartbeat. I have lots of abdominal fat so I blamed that. Today at my NT scan everything was fine. Maybe I'll try again in a week or so when the NT scan assurance wears off.
@Blonde1817I have a few structured fit and flare dresses (in a non-stretchy material) in one size larger than my normal size. Those tend to hide the in-between-bump fairly well so far, though they do get tight by the end of the day.
@br0co1ii@sidecarsareforbishes I GOT ZOFRAN! OMG, IT'S GLORIOUS! I actually cooked and ate a full meal with my husband this evening. First time in over two months! I might actually enjoy our anniversary dinner coming up next week. AND I'M NOT THROWING UP VIOLENTLY 3X A DAY! I am pissed at my OB for keeping this magical, magical stuff from me. Next time I'm demanding it from the get-go, or changing doctors. Screw the 8 weeks of misery I went through.
UNRELATED: Soo, at 14w1d I'm now having serious trouble trying to urinate when I get up at night or in the morning. Like, I really, really, really have to go, but I just can't get the stream to start. I end up having to bear down really hard to get it to trickle out, and then it'll start flowing. I googled it out of curiosity, and it turns out this is not uncommon in women with retroverted (tilted) uteruses early on. Apparently baby sits right on our urethra when we're laying down until the uterus grows up and out of the pelvis. I read horror stories of women having to go to the ER to have 1.5L drained from their bladders.
So, you know, if anyone else is having this problem... now you know. I've had good luck doing child's pose for a few minutes before peeing, that seems to help tilt the uterus back into position and relieves the pressure on the urethra. And I might be bringing home a straight cath kit just in casies.
12w 1d (not sure if I updated my ticker) and feeling like I could fall asleep at any moment. Also having intense sciatic pain whenever I'm sitting at my desk for more than like 30-45 minutes. Last pregnancy the sciatic pain didn't hit until 3rd trimester and only really occurred when I was sleeping. Some food aversions, mostly to things I normally LOVE. Going on vacation and hoping to get some good R&R in while I can.

The NT scan is the 12 week US right? If so, mine was in the Dr's office. The ultrasound tech told me everything as it happened. Baby is measuring 12+3, so no need to change due date. She pointed out all the body parts, heart beat and all that good stuff and said everything was looking good. Then I went to see my Dr, just to answer any questions. It was a very pleasant experience for me.

@ladyshark311 I haven't tried that particular brand. It's just docusate sodium, also known as good old Colace. Works great, but the store brand would probably be loads cheaper.
@annabenanna The NT scan CAN be tied to the blood test results. Mine wasn't. They are able to tell from the scan alone what they are looking for given your age and your race. It's basically just an ultrasound. Ours was video that we got to take home. It was done in a genetic specialist's office, and the ultrasound tech was great and explained to us exactly what we were looking at. What the NT looks for is nuchal translucency, or the amount of fluid at the back of the baby's neck. It determines risk for Downs Syndrome specifically. Depending on what blood test you get, they may be looking for other chromosomal abnormalities, mainly the other trisomies that can occur. (A trisomy is where you have three of one chromosome instead of two, like you're supposed to.) If you're getting the "First Trimester Screen" done, it's not very accurate. Don't freak out if it comes back saying you have an increased risk for trisomy. Just have the cell-free DNA test run, it's MUCH more accurate (99%). I had them both run at the same time. The cell-free DNA test is just a maternal blood sample.

I had mine yesterday and had a similarly pleasant experience. I don't see my doctor until Friday, but the tech told me everything looked good. She explained everything we were looking at as she went and pointed out the arms, legs, brain, stomach, facial features, and heartbeat. Baby was bouncing around and it was really fun to see! I'm 13w today based on measurements.

@sidecarsareforbishes The best is that my OB refuses to prescribe zofran because my specific gravity is fine and there are no ketones in my urine. So she says I'm eating enough and staying hydrated.
