For first time mom's who may not have thought of it, anything that fully buttons or zips is the best when they are so small and the umbilical cord is still healing. I picked our sons going home outfit, and it's a sleeper that zips all the way down, but no feeties since it will be mid summer. Full button onsies can be hard to find though, especially for summer ones. But they really are the greatest when they are so tiny
@Lynnlove28 I totally thought the same thing since this hadn't crossed my radar at all, and then promptly enjoyed an hour of surfing the internet looking at newborn outfits
Don't have anything picked out yet but learn from me and my first... Had a cute outfit and was getting him dressed to bring him home and he peed on it so he did not have the cute outfit we intended... Always have a back up outfit!

midwestbaby Can you ask your mom where she got the fox stuff, or what brand is it? I can't see it in the pic, it's too small. there's something about foxes with this pregnancy, I've been drawn to any and everything with foxes, it's kinda weird, but now I need to get this, too lol!
No going home outfit ideas yet, but my mom got this adorable blanket and matching straps for the car seat. We are doing a woodland theme nursery. I doubt we will need the blanket in August, but people here tend to crank up the AC.
Just a word of caution- you are not supposed to use anything on the car seat that didn't come with it (i.e. strap covers) due to the function of the seat and flammability. "Car Seats of the Littles" Facebook group has all kinds of info on it if you're interested... Buzz kill, and being that mom, but yeah...
This is true, but my car seat actually came with strap covers, so we just replaced them with thinner softer ones. We had to, during the summer months DD was getting legit cuts in her neck from the straps and would scream when we tightened them.

I am not sure of the brand, but she got them from tjmaxx We are doing foxes for our nursery and I totally can relate to being drawn to them. Must buy all the fox things!!

@ashleyd642 - the dress is from the Gap. It came in two colors, one with purple flowers and one with yellow flowers. The purple was only available online. I bought the yellow for my dd over a month ago so they may start getting limited in sizes. It is an absolutely beautiful dress.
I'm going to put him in something soft and cozy. I had DD in an embroidered gown with her name on it, and looking back I feel like it must have been so uncomfortable, especially since it had to be pulled up for her to get strapped into the car seat. This time I'm going to put him in maybe a one-piece short-sleeve something....maybe this, which I already own. https://www.gap.com/browse/product.do?cid=1031288&vid=1&pid=194548002 . I also love this, but they only have it in larger sizes right now aaargh! https://www.gap.com/browse/product.do?cid=1031288&vid=1&pid=194569002

@midwestbaby that outfit is so adorable! The only thing I would suggest is waiting until the belly button falls off as that could rub on it and irritate it.
