We found out last week we're having a boy. Of course we had a girl name picked out within a month of being pregnant that we both loved. So now we're struggling with a boy name (just like with our last son!) So far my picks are Jack Henry Joshua My husband isn't sold on any of them, especially since I want to use the middle name Gene ot Eugene after my great grandpa. What do you think and do you have any other suggestions? We have a Lacee Rose and James Nicholas Jr
I would be sold on Henry but my husbandisn't fond of it. He says it reminds him of an old man. I'm hoping it will grow on him between now and july!
Henry is my hubby's name! Does your DH like any of the nicknames for Henry? Hank? Harry? Hal? I even met one Henry who went by Hunter. Henry's becoming a lot more popular--it's not as old-fashioned as it once was.

@2cutepups87@Hummingbird125 I know someone that is having a boy and she wants his name to be Rh.ys Chris.topher (no periods- just making it unsearchable).

It's been really hard for DH and I to agree on names! I think we finally have it! We're having a girl, and we're naming her Mikaela Victoria Rae (Middle name is technically two names). Victoria after DH's brother (Victor) who passed away a few years ago. I've always loved the middle name Rae, and DH really wanted to honor his brother in her name, so we thought, why not do both?
Love hearing all the names that folks are thinking of!
@emmeline714 My grandfather's name was Eliazar, which has a similar "E-Z" sound to Ezekiel and Ezra. I really like Ezekiel. That was on our list of boy names.
I posted over on the names board but would love to get you opinions as well. Do you have suggestions? Thoughts on these names? The last name is a long German name starting with a G. Sorry for the book below.
I like Miles best and Henry second. I also like Cole, Reid, Grant, Samuel, Ronan, Rowan (is this going girl though? Might be too much without a short easy last name?), James. DH likes Ian, Kian, Rowan, Reid, Silas, Damon, Niels, Keane.
The only ones in common are Reid and Rowan (possibly Ronan too). So thoughts on Reid especially would be great.
We both think these names are ok but aren't loving them: Conner, Owen, Elliot. We both like Leif but not sure if its it would misspelled/ mispronounced all the time.
@ramoseecology I really like the name Reid. I'm also partial to Owen as that would have been our kids name of it was a boy. I also picture Miles as an older name but I believe it is getting popular. Not a huge fan of Keane, Kian, or Niels
I only know Rowan to be a girl's name. But it could just be a southern thing?
DH and I are all over the board on names. Our girl list is still crazy long at this point. We agree(ish) that we like all the names and are having a hard time narrowing down. Part of me feels it's harder because we don't plan on having more children and I know "rejected" names won't be used on future children. Kind of silly but that has definitely held me back lol
We aren't super traditional but I do like some traditional names. I also don't care if a name is trending at this moment or not. DD's name is Palmer Olivia.
Current list: McKenzie, Sophie, Madeline, Harper, Stella (DH's favorite but our last name has an Ella sound in it and it makes it sound like the Rihanna song umbrella), Emma, Dylan

In my experience, Rowan is usually a girls' name. Leif would probably get misspelled, but that's not such a huge deal. My name gets misspelled all the time.

@ramoseecology Ronan is my fav. Reid is also cute. I know you said Keane/Kian is more of dh's idea but I love that name as well (Knew someone who spelled it Keyen though...which I would consider as one of my boy names in the future)
We're also narrowing down some of our girl names, what do you all think?
Madelyn Grace Charlotte May Kylie Elizabeth Maisie Lou
Also really like the name Ryan or Rylan...but don't know what middle name would go with it?
I agree what some one else said about unisex names getting confusing....but looove Ryan for a girl. I think adding a feminine middle name helps? opinions please and sorry for the novel

What about Ryan for a middle name? I know a little girl who's name is Mya Ryan and it fits her well! Out of your other girl names i like Charlotte May, but you could use Ryan with some of them especially because they are all pretty feminine names!
@hannah0726 I love Olive! That was on our short list. We decided on Dorothy May after my husbands grandmother. I have such an appreciation for the classics. Olive is a beautiful name!

Love Madelyn (Maddie as a NN) Charlotte again super cute. Kylie - not quite my favorite but it goes well with that MN Maisie Lou - very sweet may be harder to grow into.
DH also really likes Ryan for a girl but I agree, it needs the right middle name in order to pull it off. We tossed around Ryan Marie.

So my sister and her husband just got a new dog and named it Oliver. I feel like we can't use it anymore so we've crossed it off our list. Thank you though!
Thank you everyone for the suggestions! I really appriciate it! Going to run your ideas by dh now
@Katienu Wow.. Dorothy May is my grandmother's name too! It's beautiful- that's why I was trying to incorporate the middle name May into one of our names
@Wylies and @ThisisNumber3 My sister's best friend growing up had a first name of "Ryan Grace". I've always loved it, and she was so beautiful and adorable that it's always been a name I think fondly of.
@tmk0135 I'm really late to the game in this one, but my brother's name is Clayton (no one does or has called him Clay). I'm not sure if that would be a name that interests you.
For me, it turns out we like kinda weird middle names. A friend of mine always joked about calling his son "Jonny Tackle", and I've always kind of liked the sound of Tackle as a middle name. I know this won't be most people's taste. My husband's middle name is Harrison, I've always loved that name, and it's been our top contender since TTC. We've been struggling to come up with a middle name for Harrison since we tend to like names that end in the same "on", "in" or "an" sound. We were throwing out names and came up with the following top 4 picks:
Harrison Tackle ("Tack" could be a nickname since we very much dislike Harry as a nickname)
Sawyer Preyton (middle name would be after my 2 brothers: Preston and Clayton)
Harrison Preyton
Harrison Sawyer
Married to DH 10/6/12
TTC since 5/14
Unexplained with (controlled) hypothyroidism and suspected ovulatory dysfunction (but, I do ovulate on my own)
Clomid 50 mg 3/15 (unmonitored) - BFN
Clomid 50 mg + metformin 4/15 (unmonitored) - BFN
First RE appt. 5/15; Natural cycle 5/15 monitored with 2 mature follicles and Pregnyl Trigger (full dose) + prometrium - BFN
6/15 HSG - clear tubes & normal uterus; great PCT test results
TI - 100 mg Clomid + prometrium (AM & PM) + vaginal estrace (AM & PM) 6-7/15 (monitored) --> no additional response and thinned lining - BFN
TI - Injectables (follistim + Gonal-F, Ganirelix, & 1/2 dose Pregnyl) + prometrium (AM & PM) 9/15 --> 3-7 mature follicles (3 definites and 4+ that could have matured due to trigger) @ O -->BFN + 5 large cysts
I love family names but I think I would just use Peyton instead of Preyton. Preyton is pretty made up and going to be misspelled a lot. Peyton still honors both brothers.
@riveridgional I really like Sawyer and don't hear it much at all. It is not super common but not made up either. I do agree with @ThisisNumber3 on just using Peyton and Sawyer Peyton is adorable!
I looove Sawyer @riveridgional I too share your love for 'different' names. I feel like Harrison will get the nickname Harry no matter what from teachers, friends etc?. (Its like having the name Jonathan, people are going to call you John.) That's just an assumption though. I also agree that Peyton by itself is different enough and still honors both brothers. Sawyer Peyton is my fav
@riveridgional I think if we have two boys and use Clay it will just be Clay. I don't mind it, however I live in WI and all I think about is Clay Matthews the GB Packer.
So I think we have settled on Mila for her first name both DH and DD love it and it was my pick. I still love Piper but DD hates it (she is a very opinionated 6 year old.) She suggested Mila Piper and I am just not sold on it yet. I really liked the thought of Ann as a middle name (it is my grandmothers) but don't like Mila Ann. So I was thinking of Mila Piper Ann. We have a 4 letter last name so her name would still be short. Has anyone else thought of using two middle names? Or does anyone have any other middle name suggestions?
Ideas for a middle name for Hannah? We really want something with a J or an L but it doesn't have to be (and Joy is sadly off the table). Right now our frontrunner is Hannah Lily. Our last name begins with a K.
Re: Names You Want Opinions On
So far my picks are
Jack
Henry
Joshua
My husband isn't sold on any of them, especially since I want to use the middle name Gene ot Eugene after my great grandpa.

We have a Lacee Rose and James Nicholas Jr
@Stephanie7693 Henry would be my pick from those names.
