They went  from a light pink to almost burgundy.
im not a fan but it is what it is
I've been told they do and I really hope my source wasn't lying. It'd be cool if the linea nigra and stretch marks went away in a hurry, as well...
I have a super light linea nigra so that's cool but I have a ton of stretchmarks on the underside of my boobs and a patch on each outter thigh/hips.
The ones on my hips actually kinda hurt.
If this baby stays in another 2 weeks I'm thinking I might get some on my belly too.
Probably has something to do with me gaining 48 pounds  :#
my cellulite on my ass is outta control.
I can't wait to kick my own ass at the gym again. It's going to be a sweaty, mouth breathing, weight lifting extravaganza.

@emgee27 - I love the disclaimer at the end that it won't affect members of The Knot or The Bump... Except they know it will, and we know it will, and they know we know it will. Otherwise, why post a warning on an unaffected app?
I'm technically a member of the knot, so if it was affecting those members the update would affect me. I don't think the nest is anywhere near as popular as the bump and the knot though >.>

  • I hate how I plan out what I am going to cook for the week, buy the groceries to make it, and then forget what I was planning to make. Right now I have this beef that I have no idea what I was going to use it for and this happens all too often.  :/

I use Pinterest! I make a weekly "secret board" and title it with just the date, and repin the recipes I'm using that week so I'll remember and not have to dig through them later.

Then again, I'm a junkie and a pen and paper also works for memory.
  • @jonesl12 @AmadorRose I'm about 99% sure the nip color goes back to normal eventually. The 1% is the possibility that it's close enough to just have forgotten, haha.
  • @AmadorRose @Missingchampagne I stopped in to my CrossFit box on Monday and just the smell of the workout equipment (its in an open air warehouse and its a bit hotter/more humid than usual for this time of year so the smell is stronger) got me aching to workout. I can between the end of one class and the start of another so I was seeing both ends of the workout. All I wanted was to grab a barbell and get to it! But at least I know now that I will be able to go back in a couple months, instead of the wondering how I'd ever work out at that level again (due to cost, so so thankful for the deal he worked for me!).

Also, I've still been using myfitnesspal to track food, loosely anyway. I haven't been strict with it, but I'm still trying to maintain a certain calorie intake, due to a bigger weight gain about halfway through here. I knew that once my nausea went away I was "making up for lost time", and sometimes took it a little overboard, so it has helped to track it even some.

  • And UUUUUGH when does this insomnia stop!!!!! I know I'll be up a lot during the night with a newborn, so it's not the constant waking that's bothering me right now. I woke up around 1am (after a really terrible dream of still birth, WTAF I don't need that terror and nonsense!), and I couldn't fall back asleep until 4am...just UGH. DD woke up at 3:30 crying so whatever, I was already up, but when I went in I had zero clue what she wanted. Normally, a quick recover with her blankets and a couple second backrub is just fine. But last night it seemed like she wanted me to stand in the doorway of her room...and just stand there. Um...no. I tried EVERYTHING else, and eventually DH went in because I was so frustrated. At least once she fell back asleep then she was out until just before 7. But I got so little sleep last night. In those 3 hours being awake I kept panicking about going in to labor today, since I need my body to wait until tomorrow at least, and I kept thinking "this is it" in my half awake stupor and that I'd be messing my family out of over $2,000...

I read that the nipple thing is because babies can only see contrasting colors at first and the areola darkens so that the baby can see it and find the nip  more easily. Maybe it goes away after they get to the point where they can see better?

I also read that the linea nigra goes away after a few months but it may stick around longer if your BFing. I'm not sure what that has to do with it but it was in the "what to expect" book.

  • I run, although I normally hate it. I haven't run since November and I am surprised to say I miss it a lot. I can't wait to get back at it. I just signed up for a 5k in September to keep me motivated once I'm cleared for exercise.

I got the 'crazy' a few years back and ran like a million halves and 9 marathons, burnt out and hated running afterwards. Haven't really missed running until being pregnant and feel like I'm looking forward to taking it up again, like a 5k program, when I'm cleared to work out. I feel like I can love it again after all this time!
  • I hate running, but I do it cause there is no better way to burn calories....
  • I also really dislike running. I do like the elliptical tho to get in some extra cardio after a workout
  • Woohoo!  Was told by the OB today that if I choose they can bump my C Section date up by almost a week.  My little peanut is still breech and it was discovered at my growth scan on Tuesday that baby went crazy and got the cord wrapped around his/her neck a few times.  Baby is fine though, thankfully.  But holy shit next week is so soon!  I'm ready, but I'm not. AAAAACCKKKK!
  • I hate running too. I wish there were simpler ways to get a good work out that are not running. I just think running is so insanely boring.

Growth scan yesterday, and baby's measuring at just over 7lbs at 36 weeks. My OB looked at me at this morning's appointment and very solemnly and somewhat apologetically told me that, although estimates can be a little bit off, this means it's quite possible that I'll give birth to a baby over 8lbs if I make it all the way to my due date.

Neither my mother, nor either of my grandmothers, nor any of my aunts ever gave birth to a baby under 8lbs. My little sister, two weeks early, was the runt of the litter for my mom at 8lbs 11oz.  Even with no growth scan, I'd have assumed that I'll be giving birth to a little chunk well over 8lbs if I make it anywhere near my due date.  8lbs doesn't phase me. I'm just keeping my fingers crossed that she comes out before she makes it to 10!
Ha ha my thoughts exactly!! DH was 10lbs and I was 8lbs 4oz... So definitely not expecting a petite little thing!

Swimming is supposed to be an amazing, full-body workout too!
  • I was a pole fitness instructor for a few years after being a student and it's the best workout I've ever had. Can't wait to get back to it

Yeah the only thing is it requires you to have access to a pool.  :/

I think it's weird that they make such a deal out of an 8# baby, that's like.. normal size. If that's considered large, my "big" 8#4 boy felt tiny in my arms.

Halves are doable but the mere thought of running 26 miles gives me a mental block. I just blank out and think about nothing but the sounds of my breathing and my shoes hitting the pavement...but I couldn't do that for 26 miles.

On a different note, I have a whole new appreciation for those of you who have been experiencing BH for long periods of time. I just started to this week and it's not at all what I was expecting!

I've had them since early on but now they seem a little more intense for sure. Not painful just tight .

Speaking of fitness, is anyone here a personal trainer, athletic trainer, or something along those lines? I'm having a hard time finding exercises that can be modified for DH's broken old body but I really want to keep him motivated about being in good health. Our age difference makes me extra worried about his fairly stagnant lifestyle.
My degree is Kinesiology (but I specialized pre-PA) so I have lots of base knowledge and AT/PT friends. :)

The most important thing as people get older is lifestyle change- regular activity over exercise. Things like parking at the back of the lot, taking the stairs and walking for transportation when possible. Some of the best tools are apps or trackers that can remind them to get up and move on an hourly basis, especially if they're at desk jobs.

As for pain, swimming is fantastic for both rehabbing injuries and for general exercise because the water helps take pressure off the joints.

I can't believe I forgot your background! I'm going to PM you today when there's a lull in my work.

@jonesl12 mine are tight and uncomfortable...but the worst part is that little girl seems to like her space so any time I have one, she tries to shove her butt through my abdomen and then pushes off into my cervix really hard. Work is busy and yesterday I was up and down from the floor a million times recertifying my CPR license so she was pissed and violent. Does it matter at this point if I just keep trucking through them? Because I'm too busy to slow down and put my feet up or even count. I'm 38+3 so I wouldn't be mad if they became real contractions here soon...

I LOVE cardio-kickboxing. I can not wait to be able to start back at it after I have the baby! I have a kick bag at home but at the classes I was taking we had to do a 20 minute warm up run and it was seriously the absolute worst part of the class. ugh lol

I'm hoping mine turn into something more substantial too. I think you are a day ahead of me so I completely understand.
When mine pushes off my cervix or moves her arms down there I swear it feels like she's actually going to punch her way right out of my crotch.
When she stretches her feet stick way out my left side/ribs and I have to tap her feet so she pulls them back or I can't breathe.
i can't imagine going another 2 weeks to my due date. By then she will be even bigger and my body is at its max I think
  • Haven't had sex in 33 weeks and now that we are in the clear DH is scared of hurting me or baby. Ugh really!!! We talked about this and I was looking forward to even I feel like crap :/

  • The ultrasound tech that did our second bpp yesterday was able to see that DD2 has a ton of hair! She could see it waving around in my AF all the way around her head. Both my nephews had a lot of hair when they were born and never lost it so I'm keeping my fingers crossed for DD2 to take after them
