I don't normally do WTF Wednesday because I have no idea what to say, but today I'm staring down the barrel of a 14 hour day... WTF self! I have a ton of control over my schedule, so why did I do this to myself??
Im new but just jumping right into everything... My WTF wed. is the fact that I bumped my coffee cup into my keurig while I went to put it under the spout. cracked one of my favorite cups Must have hit it just right. WTF Keurig (or maybe its just me ....sigh!)
@mrsdaddario Yes. I can't navigate any of the threads I actually want to see anymore. And by the way, thanks for the backup this morning. I have no issue with new members joining the board but with the mess that it's been, getting called out for trying to clean it up ticked me off a bit this morning.
@RatsPJ TWW is slacking. I hate coming up with a GTKY question though so I guess I'm just as guilty.
My WTF is my animals! Koda decided that he needed to go out every two hours last night. No good reason. He just wanted to go outside and feel the wind in his fur apparently. Then because I got up with the dog, my cat wanted to be out and about and meowed non-stop until about 4:30am. Then I finally gave up at 5am, had to clean up cat puke, get ready for work and leave. Also, my boss at the end of yesterday decided that he's giving himself 3 days off, with no notice to anyone else. So thanks for that boss man. I love getting to do twice the work for half your pay. I am exhausted and cranky so I apologize in advance for my quick temper today.
@wineo929 that is one long day, I hope it goes by fast for you!
@RatsPJ wow, how did I miss that in WTO yesterday?? Now I'm excited for an update, too.
@nwegman7878 so sorry your day is off to a crappy start. That's a lot of WTF for one day. I'm cracking up at "feel the wind in his fur" though. Hope your day gets better or at least goes fast!
My WTF is AF. Holy cramps and ***tmi*** blood. I had a hycosy (alternative to an HSG) last cycle and I wonder if that could have anything to do with a much worse than normal AF, or if this is just a bodies are weird thing. I just want to be at home in sweatpants on my couch with a heating pad.
DS: June 2008 Married: July 2015 BFP: 5/20/16 | EDD: 1/28/17 | Twin boys born 1/16/17
My WTF is a good one.. So yesterday after my pipes in my kitchen went, I was complaining to DH about how I hate our kitchen and I want to do a reno (I've mentioned it before and he's always said he wanted to wait) well all of a sudden he's like Yeah we really should do one this summer. let's get some quotes!
WTF DH? not sure what changed your mind but I'm running with it full steam ahead before he changes his mind LOL
I didn't get my labs done because I needed pre-authorization from my insurance company before they would cover anything fertility-related. Yesterday I found out I've been approved and they back-dated the authorization to the date of my obgyn appointment so it turns out I could have gotten them done and covered. WTF?????
Ugh, bfns for 12 months is hard enough but all this insurance rigmarole can seriously get me down. It's adding insult to injury. If I had the money I would hire an assistant to do just this.

@lisawastaken@furbabymom2007 Thanks. I was starting to think that maybe my bad day was influencing my responses a bit to much but I tried hard to maintain my composure and at least remain correct in my responses. My self control is wavering though and that comment that I needed to re-read the rules almost made me fly off the handle. But a TOU violation is not worth wasting on her.
@mwegman7878 with all of the nonsense on this board lately, I think they you did a good job explaining the rules without being nasty...and handled yourself well when you were attacked. (Hi by the way, I'm more active on infertility, but lurk here a lot!) Especially given lack of sleep due to furbabies (I can so relate to that!)
@whiska that is so frustrating! After trying for 1 1/2 years, I finally got a new job where insurance covered fertility costs, but it took forever (really 2 months, but felt like forever!) to get activated before I could move forward. I would be so pissed if I were in that situation and then find out I could have moved forward during the interim!
@sldp123 my AF was AWFUL after my HSG. Hope you feel better and get to that heating pad!
My WTF Wednesday is mostly just directed towards myself. I'm in a grumpy irritable mood this morning and don't know why. Getting woken up at 4 am by my dog standing on me and staring at me probably didn't help.

@nwegman7878 I really thought both of our posts to her were firm, but still answered her question. Which we could have not done at all. In fact, I even wrote join us, we aren't scary.
I refuse to respond to her after what I initially wrote. That was my opinion, and I won't entertain her in her "you're all a bunch of meanies" post.
I'm sorry your day is going so badly! Absolutely do not let her get to you. That's probably what she wants. She's probably sitting at her computer refreshing the pages, imaging what she wrote will sink in to us in an "aha" moment, imaging we're frowning at what we've previously posted and then will decide to write her an epic apology. And if she's smarter than that, she's probably at least hoping she hurt your/our feelings. Which if you're reading this, is not the case.
mrsdaddario Thanks. It ticked me off quite a bit at first, but seeing all of these wonderful TTGP ladies have my back makes me feel a lot better about it. Today is just peachy. Someone tell me that I'm not being unreasonable, please. What can I say, I tried to play nice but I guess it's just not in me.
You have nothing to be worried about. You are not being unreasonable. She wanted puppies and unicorns. She also wants us all to bow down and coddle her. You were honest and everyone tried to help her learn the ways of the site. People like that want you to move mountains for them, when a trail across will do just fine. She's one of the more entitled newbs I've ever seen on this site. She doesn't realize how it works and she is taking her frustration out on us.

Here's my WTF x 2: 1 - New people that think the deserve more than the rest (and I'm new! Jeeesh!) It ain't hard booboo. 2 - A friend sent a link to me yesterday. The link was news article talking about how my company is being bought out. None of us have been told. Yikes. It's fairly common in our industry (Pharmaceutical research & development), but it nearly always comes with a lot of layoffs and shuffling. I am the newbie in the department, and my job is nearly always the first to go. *sigh.* I'm also a pretty recent grad, so it's not easy finding such a good job. But the main thing is, couldn't they give us a little notice before we read about it??? WTF, boss-man?

@MommyForTheFirstTime Sorry for the bad news about the buy out. It makes me crazy when employers can inform their employees of such important issues way ahead of time. If you need to, it could've given you an opportunity to work on finding something new. The best of luck to you. FX for no layoffs but if there unfortunately is, I'm sure you'll find something soon.
@nwegman7878 - yeah, I am in the process of poking my little nose around to other places nearby should I have to jet real quick. I did already have an offer. It's slightly less than my current salary, but they give a sign-on bonus and better benefits-including adoption assistance. Still no infertility coverage, but at least the adoption option is covered... And apparently the place I am currently at gives a pretty good compensation package. Sorry to hear about your long night and cruddy morning. If it helps, I totally agree with everything you have said on these crazy boards.

@nwegman7878 Don't worry about what was said over on that other thread. You are not/were not unreasonable. Some people just get a little shock when they realize that the world doesn't revolve around them.

First WTF: my dogs. I am beyond pissed at them. Went outside a short bit ago to check on our garden, and they tore up all our pepper plants...about 10 total. I was so upset that I started crying, and I'm even more irrationally upset because DH won't answer his damn phone. I don't know if I can save them because he's the one with the green thumb.
Second WTF: I hung out with DHs grandma yesterday because she just had her hip replaced. She asked me how it's going in the baby department, and I briefly told her our issues. Her response was that she can't relate because all 6 of her children were accidents and she never had to try. Fair enough, it was a different time back then. She proceeded to say how proud she was of DH, but that things will not change for us until we stop playing house and see the light. It was awkward because she is a sweet, old woman but it's still hurtful to hear. I have always felt there is a negative connotation with the phrase "playing house", almost as if we are faking it. We've been together 10 years, married five, and have experienced so much good and bad together. I think we are beyond "playing house".

WTF landlord/property manager lady. An apartment showing every f***ing day?! I am done cleaning my house every day, especially when you didn't even show up yesterday. I don't care if you rent this apartment or not. So, you can just step over the piles of dirty laundry from now on. And scheduling every showing for right in the middle of DD's nap. I am over it.

Winnie81 Ugh the dogs ripping up my plants would make me furious. I hope DH gets back to you soon and you can salvage some. Also, although I doubt she was trying to upset you, what DH's grandma said was still very insensitive. Blame it on her age I guess, but if you and DH have been together that long and maintain a household, pets and support each other in what you do, that it not playing house. Stay strong in your relationship. I have high hopes that good things are coming to you soon.
My WTF goes to an article I just read about slang terms doctors use. "Harpooning the whale" is what they use when they're trying to give an epidural to an obese woman in labour. As a big girl, that pissed me off more than you know. 90% of us already feel like crap about our bodies, not to mention most of us will gain weight during pregnancy... and then saying something like that? If I heard that I would probably punch the doctor, assault charge or not.
@Winnie81 Cant help with the plants, but I get it with the DH grandma stuff... excepts it's his mom AND my own grandma. If I hear "relax" one more time... The also use the "playing house" terminology and it irritates the heck out of me. It's not a game. There is no playing! Hang in there.

@nwegman7878 & @MommyForTheFirstTime thank you guys so much for the heartfelt words. I'm such a hot mess this morning that I teared up reading your replies, and that's my second cry today lol. I found a garden group on Facebook to see if they can help with any insight on the plants. Saying "relax" definitely gets under my skin too. I'm confident that me and DH have built a strong relationship and bond, but it is disheartening to hear dismissive descriptions of our lifestyle that they know very little about. C'est la vie I guess.

Winnie81 Right? Well technically my puppy started being a TW last night. It just carried over into today. Jerk.
And thanks for the support. I know it's just stupid people on the internet but I take way too much to heart. Plus the lack of sleep and medicated emotional roller coaster aren't helping. Only good thing is I'm reading our Book Club book to distract me while I wait for quotes to come in at work.
**Loss mentioned** SnobunnieMel I'm sorry for your loss and that your ovaries aren't cooperating. I know my cycles were off for a while after both my losses. I took a month just to re-regulate and wait for my first post AF. It's hard but it gave my body and mind some time to heal. FX that your body gets it together soon.
My WTF Wednesday is with my apartment building. No idea what is up but over the past 3 months they've had extensive issues with water. Back in December, the hot water went out for over 2 weeks. A couple of our friends who lived on the top floor of the building said they didn't have any hot water for over a month. The building is owned by one of those large national corporations and when we asked for part of our rent to be reduced for the inconvenience, they refused.
Fine, whatever.... then two days ago, they send out an e-mail saying that they found a leak and would be shutting off the hot water during the day. Except they didn't just shut off the hot water. They shut off ALL WATER. For an entire day. I work from home so I couldn't get water to drink from the tap or flush toilets, OH had a meeting and couldn't take a shower before it. They restore water around 7PM... then another e-mail gets sent out, "Oops we found another leak, we'll be shutting off the hot water again tomorrow." Same deal... all water in the building was shut off for like 12 hours. And AF started during that time so I just felt really F-ing dirty with no access to water. It's back today but I spy a plumbing truck outside that says to me it might go out again with no real warning.

I'm so sorry for what you're going through @SnobunnieMel. I had the same pains after my D&C and it was such a confusing and awful time and I kept thinking something was horribly wrong with me... things finally went back to normal after a couple of months but I hated my body the whole time. *hug* I hope it gets better for you ASAP

My WTF wed. is the fact that I bumped my coffee cup into my keurig while I went to put it under the spout. cracked one of my favorite cups

Previously nweg...7878
@RatsPJ wow, how did I miss that in WTO yesterday?? Now I'm excited for an update, too.
@nwegman7878 so sorry your day is off to a crappy start. That's a lot of WTF for one day. I'm cracking up at "feel the wind in his fur" though.

@nwegman7878 that's crazy! I'm a lurker but I have to say I have never found your responses to be overtly rude or mean!
@canonmom413 I'm new too, hello!
@wine0929 that is a crazy day
My WTF is a good one.. So yesterday after my pipes in my kitchen went, I was complaining to DH about how I hate our kitchen and I want to do a reno (I've mentioned it before and he's always said he wanted to wait) well all of a sudden he's like Yeah we really should do one this summer. let's get some quotes!

Ugh, bfns for 12 months is hard enough but all this insurance rigmarole can seriously get me down. It's adding insult to injury. If I had the money I would hire an assistant to do just this.

Do something nice for yourself today.

1 - New people that think the deserve more than the rest (and I'm new!

@nwegman7878 I think your responses were completely justified and a normal adult who can read the instructions shouldn't have a problem with what you said.
I usually hang out in the TTCAL but the trolls were too much fun, so I had to come back over here for a few days. Plus we don't have a WTF thread. And I have to ask my ovaries WTF they are doing. Hibernation time over. Wakey wakey. It's been 29 days since my d&c, I have constant ovulation pains and faint AF OPKs. Make up your mind bitches. And thanks for the support. I know it's just stupid people on the internet but I take way too much to heart. Plus the lack of sleep and medicated emotional roller coaster aren't helping. Only good thing is I'm reading our Book Club book to distract me while I wait for quotes to come in at work.

SnobunnieMel I'm sorry for your loss and that your ovaries aren't cooperating. I know my cycles were off for a while after both my losses.
But that picture made me laugh out loud. Holy cow!
