A brother for Harrison?

Hi All. Our DS, H.arrison De.an, is almost 3YO and I am due with my second little boy in June. My husband and I thought we had decided on our second's son's name - Theo.dore Blake. However, in light of Ivanka Trump's decision to name her son Theodore we (mostly me) are questioning our choice. Can anyone think of some names that are similar in style that we may like? TIA.

I honestly think you're overthinking it. If you love the name, then use it. Who cares what Ivanka Trump did.

That's so funny that you say that-- when I saw the article, I was so glad she didn't choose the name we're considering for our boy! So I get it, I wouldn't want anything associated with that man/family either! That being said, I don't think anyone will associate that name with Donald Trump. It's such a classic name. In fact, when I read this post is forgotten what she named him until you mentioned it! I think you're safe.

On a side note, we are strongly considering Harrison for our boy name. How have you liked it?!

I would still use the name! I doubt too many people will make that connection. It's not like you are naming him Donald! I understand where you are coming from (we are using the name Teddy and I had a sudden thought the other day that I hope people don't think of Ted Cruz), but I think if you guys love the name - and you should, because it is great - then there is no need to second guess it.

@pjpeppercorn - We LOVE the name Harrison. I think that's partly why I feel so torn about Theodore -- because I feel like we hit it out of the park with Harrison. We don't call him Harry; either Har or Harrison or a bunch of other made up nonsense. He is FAR from a Harry.

Not gonna lie my strong dislike for anything Trump would make me have the same feelings and worry you do. That said Theodore has been gaining popularity for a while now and it's a classic name. I truly doubt a grandson in this ridiculous family will be what many think of upon hearing it and it's a solid choice

I see your point, but I wouldn't NOT use the name because of Ivanka Trump. nobody remembers what her other 2 kids are named, right? it will quickly be old news

I understand where you are coming from! But I agree, you're overthinking it. Theodore is a great, classic name. Harrison and Theodore sound awesome together. I say stick with it!

I love Theodore and had no idea what Ivanka chose for her her kid. She's isn't exactly on my culture radar. I remember Trump named his (last?) kid Baron a few years ago and I would skip that which is trendy and unusual and would be tied directly to him but Theodore is so classic.

We have liked Theodore for years and still plan on using it. I haven't heard much about her baby. I say definitely use it and I think it sounds fantastic with Harrison!
