  • Oh man she's annoying! Good on you for asking her to change the date. Utterly ridiculous.
  • @ahernandez16 ugh.  At least the rest of your family agrees that she is being crazy.  Also why does she need a shower in late may when she isn't due until late September?  She'll be all of 22-23 weeks along if I can count correctly.  Didn't she say she was 17 weeks a few weeks ago or am I misremembering that?  Pretty sure that isn't how math works....
  • Wow..that's yeah, there is no reason why she needs to have her baby shower soo early if she's due in September. Sounds like she is one heck of an attention grabber

    Lilypie Pregnancy tickers
  • @sgoldberg247 yes. I don't think she can math.

As I understand, her "reasoning" for the shower having to be that day is because her and my cousin were supposed to get married that day and she already has all of the tables and chairs and stuff rented. BUT because of her "illness" she doesn't think she can handle a wedding... but she can handle a shower the same size/caliber of a wedding ???? because she's basically just turned her wedding into a baby shower.

As far as I know only tables/chairs had been ordered before she decided to make the switch so I don't see why she can't even push the shower ahead one day to that Sunday... I mean, I didn't even order my chairs for my wedding until about a month before. Andplusalso, they changed their wedding date at least 3 times already and had to change the rentals. It's not like it'd be impossible to change it again. She just REALLY can't deal with not being the center of attention.
  • Sounds like someone needs to catch her in the act of her fake illness..that would leave her wordless.

    Lilypie Pregnancy tickers
  • @ahernandez16, why exactly is she not getting married that day?   She is really cray cray.

I cant can't think of a twatwaffle right now, maybe later.

  • What?  That makes no damn sense whatsoever!  I can't handle a wedding so let me take the plans that we had and change them (making more work for me) to be a party of similar size on the same day that I'm still doing all the work to plan because I don't understand etiquette.  Is her "illness" brain related?  That's the only explanation I can come up with for the baffling ideas she has.
  • OH I HAVE ANOTHER ONE. Whoever hit my car while at the hospital for said heart checkup is a TW.

  • @VikingGirl12- noooooo. Go get yourself some comfort food and take a nap (if you can). You need it today.
  • @vikinggirl12 Oh man, both of those things suck hard core. I agree. Eat something delicious and put your feet up today, girl.
  • My cousin's fiancée (chronic illness faker) wins again. I ranted briefly about this a while ago.

I am graduating on May 21st with my BA. My mom told me a few weeks ago that she heard the bitch was planning her baby shower for that same day. This is her second kid in less than 3 years, it's another boy, she's throwing the shower herself, our family is all within 30 miles of her and she's due in late September. There is no reason her shower has to be that day.

Anyway. She text me yesterday to ask me when my graduation was over because that's the day that she's having her baby shower and she wants to make sure everyone can be there. Uh, hello. I've been busting my ass for 6 years to get here did you stop to think maybe I wanted to have a celebration after my ceremony that day!?

So. I was super mature, didn't text her back and tattled on her to my aunt (her MIL) and asked her to talk to her and get her to switch the date. Maybe I'm the TW for doing that but everyone in my family agrees she's being ridiculous and I knew if I said something to her it wouldn't be received well and we'd probably end up throwing pregnant punches, lol.
What is her f***ing deal? September. No, not acceptable. She's absolutely crossing the line here. She should be everyone's TW.

  • @VikingGirl12 that sucks, both the insurance and someone hitting your car.  I'm a little terrified that my insurance will try to pull something similar during delivery despite them claiming to cover 100%.  Hope the echo at least went well!

    @ahernandez16: That bitch cray.

@VikingGirl12: What the fack?! $1235 and some idiot hit your car?! Uuugh.
  • OH I HAVE ANOTHER ONE. Whoever hit my car while at the hospital for said heart checkup is a TW.

    That's awful!!!!!!!

  • @ahernandez16 wow...sounds like a piece of work. Ironically I think her and my husband's cousin who is due in the next two weeks would get along really well. She's been the biggest pregnant drama queen to ever drama.

@Vikinggirl12, you poor thing, you are having a really shitty day! I agree, ice cream and relaxation are in order!

My TW is the stupid B that works downstairs who has refused to accept that I was the one hired for my position. I handle HR and payroll for 3 different RV dealerships in Ohio. She is a sales person. I'm aware I'm only 26 but I was hired for the job based on experience and I've been doing it for a year without any complaints from my boss. She doesn't seem to think I should've been given the job and it seems, based on what she's said to others, that she feels she should have been picked for it, even tho she didn't apply. Anyway, she came up yesterday looking for my boss who had already gone home for the day. I asked if there was anything I could help with and she said "Well I have to fill out a new W4 form to change my deductions but that has nothing to do with you." So I told her I actually am the one she needs to talk to, since I handle payroll. So she kind of got snotty and goes "Why would you handle that? Why wouldn't [my boss]?" So, since my filter is pretty much non existent anymore I said "You mean why would I handle submitting what deductions are taken out of your paycheck when I'm the one the processes payroll?" So whatever, she took it to fill out it, and then came back today and walked into my boss's office and goes "I just wanted to let you know I'll be updating my W4, I'm not sure Beth should be the one to handle that", while I'm sitting right here! The vindictive bitch in me wants to just shred the damn thing as soon as she brings it in!

  • @vikinggirl12 I'm pissed for you!
  • Ugh serious TW today. @ahernandez16 what is her "illness"? I don't get how you can be up for a baby shower but not a wedding.

@VikingGirl12 that's awful! How does your insurance company just decide to no longer cover a necessary procedure? And major WTF to whoever hit your car and didn't leave a note. Are there cameras in the parking lot?

  • My TW is my work..I have to type up a general leave of absence letter to my director requesting to get my unpaid time off for baby and also fill out a form for leave without pay because I came just about 1 month short of qualifying for FMLA and don't since I wont have been here a year yet. Like I don't have enough stress as it is. Oh and to top that off I have to figure out if I'm going to resign right after my leave or work a bit then resign since we'll be moving this summer to New Mexico...ahh!

POTS isn't debilitating, definitely not enough to warrant cancelling a wedding over.  Sure it requires you to be smart about your motion but debilitating?  NOPE.
  • @vikinggirl12 both of those things totally suck.

@edeibel89 I hope your boss said something along the lines of "why are you giving me this, it's Beth's job"

  • @Pbear93 fortunately I have the best boss on the planet and she did tell her that I "will always handle all matters payroll related" so it's nice to have back up, it just pissed me off!
  • Omg, people never cease to astound me...especially how bitchy someone can be!
  • @edeibel89, at least your boss has your back.

    WAIT!
You can still use FMLA- maybe just not right away! Take the unpaid leave you need to give birth and recover. Then return to work and as soon as you are eligible for FMLA- you take it. In general- the leave is to be used in the first year after your child's birth in order to bond. FMLA is not just to give birth and hang out immediately after.

    https://www.dol.gov/whd/regs/compliance/1421.htm
    "Employee Eligibility

To be eligible for FMLA leave, an employee must work for a covered employer and:

    • have worked for that employer for at least 12 months; and
    • have worked at least 1,250 hours during the 12 months prior to the start of the FMLA leave; and,
    • work at a location where at least 50 employees are employed at the location or within 75 miles of the location.

    Leave Entitlement

A covered employer must grant an eligible employee up to a total of 12 workweeks of unpaid leave in a 12 month period for one or more of the following reasons:

    • for the birth of a son or daughter, and to care for the newborn child;
Leave to care for a newborn child or for a newly placed child must conclude within 12 months after the birth or placement. (See CFR Section 825.201)"
  • First of all- @ahernandez16 and @VikingGirl12 - you win TW Tuesday! That's ridiculous! You both deserve a cookie today.

My TW is my moms neighbors and their stupid dog. I was outside at my moms house today feeding her dogs when the neighbors dog (who is a 225lb Great Dane) decides to come over and CHARGE at my moms dog (who is standing at my feet eating). Obviously the dog hits me and almost knocks me over.. He's got about 50 pounds on me... If I would have fallen and the baby would have been hurt... They would have a law suit on their hands! Ggrrrrr it makes me so mad!
  • I feel like @Palisson's post should've had a bit more "but wait! There's MORE!" to it. Otherwise, kudos ;)

Yes. I have a good friend who has POTS which is why I'm 98% positive she's faking her diagnosis and 100% sure if she does have it she's totally milking it.

@Palisson Oh man thank you for that explanation! The company H works for switched in February and pretty much told him he was SOL for FMLA despite working at the actual site for 5+ years. But if his boss was willing to work with him he could "probably take a few days."

I had no idea you could defer FMLA leave or that you had a whole entire year to use it. I guess I thought you had to take some right away and then had a year to use the remaining. I'll have to mention it to him and when his anniversary with that company comes up he can jump on it and take some time off with the baby.

I'm so glad you're in this BMB. ❤

    BUT WAIT THERE'S MORE!
Hang on- was his company purchased by another company? Would he have been eligible under the previous company?
Covered Employers include "private sector employers who employ 50 or more employees for at least 20 workweeks in the current or preceding calendar year - including joint employers and successors of covered employers."

You really want to pay attention to the details of this act- it's pretty broad and you may find that you are covered. You are your own best advocate!

    https://www.dol.gov/whd/regs/compliance/1421.htm
  • @Palisson he's a security guard. His old company was "fired" and the mall he works at hired a new company to take over the security contract.

He was eligible under the previous company, though.
  • My TW is the glucose drink. Why oh why must it taste sooooo gross??!?
And the lab where I did it - even though I showed up at 8 when it opened, they made me wait an hour to see the lab tech, who watched me drink the shit and then said come back in an hour. So two hours total for an hour test. Why couldn't they just give me the drink when I got there?!
  • Ugh people suck! I'm sorry for all the damn TW's!!! Also @ahernandez16 that b**** is facking insane!!

@palisson I have a legal question that you may or may not know the answer to but it's worth a shot: I work part-time at a company (it'll be 3 years in May). We are a private company contracted by the state (Ohio) to process disability cases and they had a 4 year contract that is up July 1st. As of now it sounds like we aren't getting the new contract because other companies out-bid our company. Besides them having to pay me for any PTO time I've accrued am I SOL?
