I am really struggling to time my contractions. I feel like at some point in the middle of night last night my BH have turned into possible real ones? I'm not sure but they're definitely more intense than my BH. The BH was just my stomach getting hard every so often. These are more at the top of my belly and really uncomfortable but not really painful.
Anyway, I'm at work, trying to time them with an app on my phone but I keep forgetting to stop the timer when the contraction is over because I'm also working/walking around somewhat infrequently.
Question!? More for stm. Do you remember if baby moved much when you first went into labor or during labor? My daughter is 5 1/2 and I don't really remember if she moved or not

DD squirmed after contractions, but I had low fluid levels, so I felt EVERY movement with her. That said, this baby is WAY more active than she was, and reacts pretty violently to every contraction (prodromal labor, boo) so I think it may be a "personality" thing for the babies.
@imrachellea I'm also a crossfit hater but that's a hell of deal - and if your husband won't get on board, you can always remind him of the hell you went through in the past 9 months to beat his offspring
My OB appointment got rescheduled to Wednesday thanks to overbooking. Ugh so over this. Now hubby has to take another morning off to drive me. He already took this morning off and they waited till like an hour before my appointment to reschedule.
Work is getting stressed out. People are scrambling to get their final details in before I go on MLOA. I'm going to be so glad I get to take at least 8 weeks off from work. It seems like the only times I get to get off from work is when I have babies and this will be my last time
I feel like going swimming right now would be exactly what the doctor ordered, so to speak. Luckily Chicago parks are full of indoor pools; unluckily, most of them seem to have more "family swims" than open or adult swims, and the rules seem to be that you're required to have a child with you for the former. I will probably appreciate that once LO gets here (who wants random creepers in the pool?) but right now I find it immensely frustrating. Thinking I may show up anyway, and anybody who wants to call me out for not having a child with me is more than welcome to try to tell me that my almost-fully-cooked fetus doesn't count.
I just had a chunky peanut butter , banana , and fluff sandwich. I forgot fluff existed and when I saw it at the store I had to buy it. I feel like I'm 6 again.

Went over to 1st Tri for a laugh and was not disappointed! Someone asked if she could be showing already....she is 5 weeks, her baby is the size of an apple seed.

My hubby and I usually make each other Easter baskets because we're sweet and sappy like that. I waddled my fat ass out to the store this past week and picked out all his favorite goodies and made him a lovely huge basket. I have it to him this morning and he makes this dumb face then rubs my belly and says "This is your Easter present, right?!"
I'm acting like it's okay but my feelings are really hurt. He even made a comment s few days ago about needing to go out and get stuff for my basket so I assumed he had stuff stashed away like I did but nope.
It wouldn't be so bad except we didn't do anything for what we call our "Valenversary" either. Every year instead of celebrating Valentine's Day we celebrate it two weeks later on the 28th because that's the day we met. He always does something sweet/romantic but we didn't do jack squat this year. We spent our actual wedding anniversary driving home from his family's house from Thanksgiving and didn't do anything for it either.
I just hate that I'm 37 weeks pregnant and we haven't done anything to spend time together on our "special" days since I've been pregnant and it's the last time it will truly be just the two of us and my feelings are just hurt. =/
It's not too late. Plan a date night (soon!) and let him know you'd like it to be special. Communicate that your feelings are hurt and that you want to make these last days special.
I hate to be Debbie Downer but it does not get easier once the baby gets here. Romance will need to be more deliberate in the craziness of everything. You won't be sorry for making it a priority now.

Ah the Blump
That's what I relplied to the comment lol " it's a blump"
I was also highly entertained by the thread where the girl who was having bleeding kept feeling and checking her own cervix. its now a DD and labeled " ! " on the first tri board

How does one check their own cervix and does she have any clue what she's feeling for?

Do any of you ladies know at what point a Dr will do a membrane sweep? On paper I am 38 weeks but I'm measuring a week ahead.
I'm 38 weeks and asked for one yesterday, however I'm still not dilated so my dr said it wasn't possible. I believe as long as you're dilated (even a little) and your full term your dr could do it.
Out of curiosity how do you know you're measuring ahead?

When my dr measures my belly(uterus ) it is about a 1.5cm ahead. At my last appointment he is already about 8 pounds. I've been ahead since my 18 wk ultrasound. The way I see it is he's just a big boy. His dad was 9lbs

Fundal height doesn't make a difference in baby size or delivery date. It's also notoriously inaccurate and many practices don't do it anymore. FWIW, I've measured 1-3 weeks ahead consistently since they started measuring and LO is small-average size...she just has some extra wiggle room.
@jonesl12 I did see your blump response! Haha! I was highly entertained by that self-cervical-check post too, even though I didn't get to it until all the deletions, but I got the idea. I guess to each their own but checking your own cervix is for sure strange and just asking for an infection!

I give them props for even being that cooardinated. TMI but I can barely reach to shave let alone check my cervix!

hell, I can barely reach to wipe. You're doing better than me. lol

My LO is measuring pretty large too but my dr said that I'm just carrying a large baby. She's been measuring large since my 20 week u/s and I asked my dr if it was possible that I'm further along than we think but she said that she was measuring large but never ahead of schedule.
At 38 weeks I'm still not dilating, not that it means much and could change tomorrow. My doctors are however having me do another u/s next week at my 39 week with a different tech who they say is usually ounces away from baby's actual weight. My doctors are however concerned that if she does measure big I might a more difficult delivery but we wont know until labor starts and we see what my body is capable of handling.
I swear pregnancy should come with a warning label.
Anyone take red raspberry leaf tea? Does it have any connection with labor or contractions?
I do constantly and it hasn't really done anything labor wise. From what I've read and from what my dr says is its great for actual labor. It helps soften the cervix and if you are already close to labor it may push it over the edge. But everyone is different. A close friend of mine drank it straight for a day and had her son the next day. Who knows. It tastes yummy so why not!

With my daughter at her 18 wk US she was measuring behind. She was born at 40 wks and 4 days. My dr was right on with her weight. Every doctor is different though I agree with the warning lol. Even being my second pregnancy I clearly forgot the little things that go along with it!
UGH I just burst a vessel on my finger because I punched the wall too hard. DD is making me crazy for her nap. I dont' care if she naps right now, I really don't. She's staying in her room, playing, whatever. But she keeps starting to fuss about her blankets not being on (no crap kid, you keep throwing them off to play and 2 seconds later deciding you want them again) and she WON'T put the blankets on herself. I'm trying to eat my lunch but every time I go to eat a spoon, she's fussing for me. I try and leave her, but she's one of "those" that if you don't respond she gets more and more agitated and if she gets too agitated, there will be no calming her and not only will she not nap, she won't stay in her room by herself. I just want to eat my dang lunch...
I'm a little surprised that everyone here seems so weirded out by a woman checking her own cervix... Did none of you chart your cervical position when ttc? I've previously been on boards where EVERYONE charts when they're trying, and just assumed that there would be women everywhere who did. Also, I've never understood why anyone thinks it's not ok to touch one's own cervix, but it's ok for anyone one has sex with to do it... I promise your partner touches your cervix with his penis literally every time you have sex, and if fingers are involved, he probably does then, too.

Its heaven, I even like putting it on ice cream
