Hi ladies,
I've spent a lot of time reading posts on pregnancy forums, but this is my first question.
My husband and I have been ttc for 5 months, and this month, for the first time, I'm SURE I had Implantation bleeding 6-7dpo. I have never spotted, and this was light (3 drops, exactly), and lasted for about an hour. 8 days later, and still no positive pregnancy test! My period was due yesterday, and still nothing.
Has anyone else experienced this (i.e.taken a super long time to get a bfp after implantation bleeding?)
Re: Has anyone gotten a BFN 8 days after Implantation bleeding, but still ended up pregnant?

Please take time to read the newbie guide pinned to the top of the TTGP board. We don't promote symptom spotting and no one here can or will guess if you are pregnant. It's actually against TOU to ask (or ask in a roundabout way).

Implantation bleeding is rare, there's no possible way to be "SURE" until after a positive pregnancy test that it even was IB. Bleeding mid cycle happens for many reasons... Most of which are not IB.
You aren't pregnant. The test said so. We can't tell you any more than that.
Even if someone had a similar experience, it would have no bearing on yours.
Andplusalso... This is a TRYING to get pregnant board, most of us have never gotten a BFP.
I suggest lurking more and reading the pinned posts at the top of the board.

Cycles can change at any time for any reason. People tend to be hyper aware of every little thing when TTC. You've probably spotted before and didn't notice or care because you weren't ttc at the time.

Luteal phase spotting is negatively predictive of pregnancy. Also, "implantation bleeding" has been assessed in a couple of different studies and so far no study has been able to show that implantation is capable of causing bleeding/spotting. A study done by Oxford on "Vaginal bleeding in very early pregnancy" found that:
Also, it's highly unlikely that you could have a negative pregnancy test a full 8 days after implantation occurred. If you did have implantation happen 8 days ago then I'd say it would be unlikely to be a viable pregnancy considering the extremely poor doubling rate of hCG that would lead to negative tests 8 days later.
I think that since your period is "late" with BFNs the most likely scenario here is that you ovulated later than normal. You're regular until you're not. You've never spotted until you do. Bodies are weird and things change sometimes for no real reason.

It sounds like you just need to keep testing until you get your period. There is nothing any of us can do for you here.
I had implantation bleeding but I only realized that's what it was because I ended up with a positive test (edit: this was years ago, btw). If you have a negative test then my experience with IB is useless to you.
OP you need to chill out (and read the TOU).

OP, you know nothing of the women in this group. They are some of the most supportive, intelligent, and kind-hearted people I have the pleasure of knowing. You have to give support in order to get support.

It's ok you asked this. Just know most of us have not been pregnant making this question difficult to answer. Bodies do not work like clock work all the time (some are better than others at it). And no two bodies are the same. But i agree. Please consider reading the newbie thread...and please stay! Join. Great group of ladies who are supportive if you play the rules. Also forgiving. I made a mistake when i joined too no one held it against me.

Don't misunderstand me, my children will know beyond a shadow of a doubt that they are loved and they will know more than their share of hugs and kisses. But they will also know when they make mistakes and when they fall down and get bruised they will know how to pick themselves up and brush off the dirt and keep going. And they will be cognizant of their surroundings and the environment they are in before barging in and spouting off whatever they feel they'd like to say. And if they did make such a mistake, because i am sure they will not be not perfect, they would know when to back down and bow out gracefully.
Now would be a good time to practice that graceful bowing.

I feel like you probably havn't been temping. If you had been your response to "how do you know you're really late" wouldn't have been "because I never have been before". You would have said something about the length of your luteal phase.
So I'm giving you side eye now.
OP you are not pregnant until you turn a test positive. So you are not pregnant right now... I'm 30 and my periods have been the same length until the last 3 and then they are 7-9 days longer than normal with no positive test. Our bodies are normal until they aren't. And I know all of these women who follow and have responded will be amazing mom's because they are strong and opinionated and don't take crap from strangers...
Threads will take a darker tone if OP indicates that long term and more than helpful posters will not make good parents.
