"opposite" teething symptoms?

So, for the past 2 days, DD does not want to eat solids at all... she's been on finger food for months and is usually a pretty good eater. Not even avocado or watermelon - her faves! She will however, drink her bottles just fine.

We think she's teething... anyone's DC not want solids with teething but do fine with bottles??

Re: "opposite" teething symptoms?

  • Mine! When she is teething she will nurse or take her sippy but shun the spoon.

  • DS hasn't completely refused solids, but he has been eating less lately, and drinking more bottles! I thought this was weird too! We know he is teething, because tooth #3 (on the top right) has broke through and #4 (on the top left) is working its way through, so I guess it is possible!
  • Yep. DS had 8 teeth at 8 months old and that is what he would do. We are working on more right now and he doesnt want solids, except for maybe every other day or once a day. He prefers the bottle when teething, but is getting older and the bottle doesnt fill him up so much anymore, so then he breaks down for the solids.  Try cottage cheese or yogurt.
