dumb question and I'm too lazy to look up the GD post - if I failed the 1 hour test, is there a specific window to go in for my follow up test? I failed my test on Wed Mar 16, and I haven't gone back in yet....thx!
I don't think so. I mean, the urgency is that if you have GD being on top of it is better for you and your baby. My OB gave me a time window. Both times I had things coming up and asked if I could delay it a week or two and he was like, "Yeah, anytime before your next appointment." which was like 2-3 weeks away.
Sweet! Thank you my smart friend (see?? you totally are). I am totally waiting till my u/s next week then.

I don't know if there is a window set in stone but my doctor wanted me to have the three hour test done by the end of the following week.

Here's some more BRILLIANT WISDOM: (Disclaimer: obviously check with your OB and ignore your random internet friend's personal anecdote.) My OB also encouraged me to eat ALL THE SWEETS and have a gooodbye party with them before the results came back. I feel like if he said that it can't be TERRIBLE to wait one more week so long as you are on point if/when you are diagnosed.

I like your OB. And I'm still clinging to hope that I'll pass this bad boy. Nurse said my 1hr results were borderline - so I'm banking on that meaning this test will turn out FINE. But, I did consume two GIANT home made cupcakes last night and I'll continue to do so all week.....just in case
I have my glucose test this morning. Wish me luck! I threw it up at the hour mark with my first, but had no problems with my second. I have to drink it on the way to drop DS1 at preschool. Yuck.
Went in to so my GD screening test. My number was 150. Don't know what that means. The guy didn't tell me anything. Now I'm waiting to get more blood drawn and I'm going to be late for work. Pregnancy is super inconvenient.

Was that your first draw? Before you drank the drink? Or the results from the 1-hour?

I had the same one! I downed it while waiting in the carpool line. It tasted like those barrel drinks from when I was a kid. I made it through the draw and my 28 week appointment, and now I'm dizzy and feel nauseous.
Just got an invitation to a friend's baby shower. She is having a baby GIRL and has twin GIRLS less than 2 years old. Her registry is enormous and has expensive things on it like a new car seat, etc. I'm so confused. And she's really not that type of person. I will of course go and bring a gift.
@TunieBee I know a lot of people (myself included) do a registry as a way of keeping track of what they need and expect to buy themselves. I have a registry with some big ticket items on it but only so I can use the discount at the end. I'm not even telling people that I'm registered,
Sorry to all of you doing your GTT No fun. Rainbow Brite is at it again.
I got sucked in. *hangs head in shame*
Tsk tsk.
One day, even taking into account the vastness of the internet, we'll run out of tot gifs for this nonsense. Though, I don't think Rainbow Brite has been totted? Potatoed, but not totted?
Finally back at work where I can bump from my computer. My mobile app has been jacked up all weekend and it won't show me new posts or let me comment or like or anything! Rant over...

I'm going to see if I can get her to start a new thread every time her baby kicks...
My husband brought home root beer and ice cream last night and I as going to put my kid down to bed and then have a float. She was really hard to get settled down and I ended up falling asleep in the process and never getting my float
So I guess I'm asking...is it ok to have a root beer float at 9am, while my toddler watches? She's dairy intolerant so I can't even share, not that I would anyway :P

Ugh. I'm sorry!! Will she get weirded out by it? Is there another treat you can seduce her with while you enjoy?
Does anyone else wonder what these women will do when they actually have the kid? I mean, who will they run to with their millions of similar questions/concerns/issues once the baby is actually here and spitting up brown and pooping green?!?! If you can't use the search button on TB or Google in general, I feel like you will just be one giant panic of a mess in the moment.

I know exactly what they will do. They'll be right here, starting a million threads about baby poop.

I took the test on the 14th, found out I failed the 16th, and don't go to my 3 hour until the 28th. I begged them to let me wait until spring break since I'm out of paid days off at work and can't afford the short pay check right now. They said to follow a strict diet until then though.

You are probably right. Oh well, at least I'll be able to drink wine while ignoring them then. Wine makes everything better and generally my attitude becomes...

@Emztron500 I had an A&W rootbeer freeze at about 9 yesterday as well while my dog watched. I felt fine about it.
