WAYDTGKU: as of now, zilch. Got the idea to take a break from temping during AF from another poster, so I'm doing that. I may even go rogue this cycle and stop temping altogether to give myself a break.
R/R/CS: I'm remarkably not too upset about CD1. Excited to try for a Christmahannukwanzika/Festivus baby!
GTKY: Keeping with the holiday theme--what is your favorite holiday meal or dish?
I love any and all potatoes, especially mashed. My mom makes killer cheesy potatoes, which is kind of like an au gratin dish.
TTC January 2016 BFP May 17, 2016 DS born January 31st, 2017: Rory "Mac" MacKinnon
WAYDTGKU: nothing at the moment. Just having myself a pity party.
R/R/CS: this cycle was so rough on me. I thought we did everything perfectly. We had our best timing and I had a clear temp shift. I know I should just focus on this time now but I just feel so defeated.
GTKY: Keeping with the holiday theme--what is your favorite holiday meal or dish
R/R/CS: BIG rant, so I'm sorry for the long post. So I ran out of my Easy@Home cheapies (which I LOVE) before my predicted O day, so I bought a pack of cheapies at CVS. BIG MISTAKE. Positive OPK on CD23 but still no O in sight. Also thought I may have had another positive OPK this morning, so I took a CB insert (without the handle, because it's a one smiley and done situation with those things, which I feel is such a waste!) and read it manually (which I know they say not to do, but desperate times calls for desperate measures) and it looked quiet negative to me. I know I should just go spend the money today to get some digital ones and reorder the E@H, but that doesn't make me any less frustrated. I hope this doesn't turn into a 41 day cycle again. Didn't someone mention possibly having different length cycles based on which ovary O'd? I'm looking back at my last few cycles off HBC and it goes 38, 34, 41, 34... and now we're here at CD26 still waiting for O. Unfortunately I've only been charting all the things this cycle and last, so no way to know what has been historically going on. I'd appreciate a c/s for anyone willing to offer some advice.
GTKY: Keeping with the holiday theme--what is your favorite holiday meal or dish? Thanksgiving is my fave, and I LOVE stuffing. My family does a giblet stuffing and it's the bomb dot com.
R/R/CS: So today is usually my O day, but still no positive OPK. My CM & CP are all pointing to it being about that time but no luck. I've been reading around a number of forums and some say Clomid can delay ovulation. I took 50mg days 5 through 9 and was told I could ovulate 5-10 days after by last pill, so I guess it could happen as late as CD19 but I'm impatient. The reason I'm taking it is to improve egg quality so is it possible that my body is trying to produce more mature follicles so it's taking longer to ovulate? Just speculation but I was curious of anyone elses experiences.
GTKY: Keeping with the holiday theme--what is your favorite holiday meal or dish? For Easter, DH makes these amazing bacon buns. I'm definitely looking forward to those next weekend.
R/R/CS: was cooking dinner last night and looked at the timer and had 10 minutes left so looked at my H and said we've got that time, let's go. Haha. Oh. This is so much fun. (Sense sarcasm. Lol)
GTKY: Keeping with the holiday theme--what is your favorite holiday meal or dish? My favorite is my homemade mac and cheese.
@kellybean1988 sorry bout day 1 but glad you're feeling alright.
@jedially85 sorry bout day 1 for you too. Creepy hugs for you. @sandwichlover at least it wasn't close to O. I get so angry when I do that close to o time. @ratspj sorry you're frustrated. I definitely don't see an ovulation shift. You could still today or you surged and didn't actually ovulate which means you could still later on. Don't count yourself out yet. @lcsrva have so much fun in Italy!

Well...I know I said yesterday that I didn't think my temps were accurate but that ff gave me cross hairs and an O day.....deep down I was hoping it was true. Well this morning temp was way down..so FF took away cross hairs and said nope lol. ..no O for you. My cycles are normally 22 days and I've normally long Oed by now....so I'm worried the cycle is anovulatory
GTKY: Keeping with the holiday theme--what is your favorite holiday meal or dish?
DH and family are French Canadian...around the holidays my MIL makes a dessert called "sucre á creme" which is like fudge. I could eat it forever and always.

R/R/CS: I don't know if we're going to Netflix and Chill anymore because holy smokes is Stardew Valley such an addicting game.
GTKY: Keeping with the holiday theme--what is your favorite holiday meal or dish? Green pea soup for Christmas! It's tradition from the old country. That's shifted to a New Year meal for partner and I due to scheduling, so I guess now it's green pea soup with ham, sauerkraut, and black eyed peas. Gotta love making a Cajun-slavic household meal.
@vintageandrea90 You're regular until you're not. It's definitely too early in your cycle to start worrying about it being anovulatory. Don't stress about that!

WAYDTGKU: Temping, I'll probably start BD soon since it looks like my period will end today and I don't want O sneaking up on us again

@kellybean1988@JediAlly85 sorry about CD1, ladies. @RatsPJ I'm sorry I don't have any advice for you... I stopped using opks because I never got true positives and it was so frustrating! FX your temps will give you some answers and soon! @lcsrva I'm so envious of your upcoming trip! Can't wait to hear about it. R/R/CS: So I mentioned yesterday that my temp was elevated and likely due to alcohol consumption. Well last night I just HAD to have a couple beers before bed and my temp was elevated again. I hate when I do this so close to O because now I don't know if it's the real deal or not. I have typically O'd on CD 18 in the past so I'm hoping tomorrow's temp will be lower so we can hio at least one more time. We did EOD this FW which I know is supposed to be as effective but it made me feel kinda anxious to not get r in as much as possible! We shall see what happens. Sorry this turned into a longer rant than expected!
GTKY: Keeping with the holiday theme--what is your favorite holiday meal or dish? I love green bean casserole. Love it.
GTKY: Keeping with the holiday theme--what is your favorite holiday meal or dish? Thanksgiving is my fave, and I LOVE stuffing. My family does a giblet stuffing and it's the bomb dot com.

@felix08 Alcohol REALLY messes with my temps. Which is inconvenient, as craft beer is one of the great loves of my life. The one trick that seems to work for me is making sure that I don't go to sleep with a buzz. I have obviously cut back on drinking for TTC purposes, anyway, but I notice that if I happen to drink a bunch but then sober up before bedtime, I notice that my temps don't go so nuts. I am also careful to make a note in FF when I drink, and I discard post-drinking temps liberally.
One other note about drinking - I notice that if I drink one day, my temp is elevated the next. But then if I drink a second day in a row, my temp goes WAY up. Maybe that's just me, because I've never read anything about that in the various literature. But that's consistently been the case for me.
R/R/CS: I got a 'high' reading on a CBA OPK but still a negative on a regular CB OPK. This is my first cylce using the Advanced as well, so we will see how these work. Last cycle I never turned any OPK, so I was pretty excited for a flashing smiley this morning. My temp was pretty high this morning and I think it's because I turned the heat up two degrees last night because I was cold. It might end up getting discarded at some point. Time will tell!
GTKY: Keeping with the holiday theme--what is your favorite holiday meal or dish? I love mashed potatoes!

WAYDTGKU: I get irrationally annoyed about answering this question every day. I'm not going to do it until something changes. R/R/CS: Hoping for one more high temp and then move to TWW tomorrow. Silver lining of traveling next week for work, the BSC will stay at bay.
GTKY: Keeping with the holiday theme--what is your favorite holiday meal or dish?
For Easter I love a honey baked ham and pineapple stuffing - the stuffing is bread, cream, sugar and shredded pineapple. It gets crunchy on the top and gooey at the bottom. Soooooo good. Just decided I'm going to have to cook a traditional Easter dinner on Sunday even though I wasn't planning on it after traveling.
R/R/CS: Not much going on right now. Just impatiently waiting. I don't like this time of the cycle where you wake up, take your temp and pray that when you turn it around there is a nice temp jump. That did not happen this morning, maybe tomorrow...
GTYK: As much as I love the potatoes and stuffing, I am really just going through the motions until dessert arrives. Love me some pie!
@lcsrva Omg, Italy would be amazing! Definitely on the bucket list of places to visit.
@nwegman7878 Sorry, I don't have any experience with Clomid, but hopefully O arrives soon!
@sarah0985 Your post made me giggle. We totally did the same thing yesterday, except we had a little more time. I was making homemade pizza, so after I made the dough, I looked at DH and said, well we got about an hour... lol
@vintageandrea90 Sorry your CH were taking away. FX your temps start going back up again! It's still early though, so I wouldn't get worried just yet.
@kellybean1988 Sorry for CD1! That's great you're feeling pretty even-keeled. I love my temping break during af; helps me stay sane and more like myself. I took a complete break from temping during my birthday month and just used opks; that was nice too but I decided I really wanted to know our exact timing every month. I would totally give up temping altogether if I could! (Actually, I wrote fitbit and asked them to incorporate temp monitoring in future trackers! )
@JediAlly85 Sorry for CD1! FWIW I think the bsc and sadness hit me hardest at month 5, so I feel you. Be good to yourself!
@RatsPJ Sorry for the unclear temps and running out of opks at the worst time!!! Can you share/link your last chart? What were your temps during the LP last time? I'm inclined to think you haven't o'd yet... But way to keep up on the bd!!
@lcsrva Ooooh, scenic route. I'm stealing that! Have fun packing and getting ready!!!
@nwegman7878 I'm sorry, I don't have any experience with clomid but I think your reasoning sounds... reasonable
@sarah0985 Haha Ten minutes! I'm impressed! DH would be like, uhhhhh, that's too much pressure and I don't know if I could get my clothes off that fast, but we're practically sex sloths.
@vintageandrea90 Sorry for the confusing temps! I don't know your med history, but if your cycles are regular it's unlikely you're suddenly having an anovulatory cycle. And if you're new to temping it can take a few months even to see patterns. There's something called a fallback rise where your temp dips a day or two after O; I have it almost every cycle but ff will still give me CH 4 days after O. I hope you see a noticeable pattern soon!
@TheJerilu Love *wishes* Your holiday meal sounds amazing. I love keeping traditions and cultures alive, and blending them!
@britters314 O sneaked up on us twice in the last few months and I was like, excuuuuuse me, I was trying to get -2 AND -1 this month! Good luck with timing if it does come early!!
@felix08 Sorry for the confusing temps! At least you're covered with EOD; fx for a clear temp shift soon!
@beary67 Yay for a flashing smiley!!! Hope this cycle you get a better sense of everything with the CBA!

WAYDTGKU: nothing now, enjoying my temping break
R/R/CS: I feel shitty for saying it but I've been avoiding our friend group for the last few months because I've been so down about ttc. But Friday one couple actually showed up unannounced and were like, we're going out! So we had dinner then went over to another couple's house and drank and played games, then went for a middle-of-the-night doughnut run. It was so fun and felt like college again. I really needed it. I'm hoping I can stay more engaged and less hermit-y.
GTKY: Keeping with the holiday theme--what is your favorite holiday meal or dish? I really love Thanksgiving stuffing/dressing. I eat way too much every year, but it's the only time I have it so I go all out! I think my favorite whole meal is probably 4th of July - cheeseburgers or steaks on the grill, potato salad, mac and cheese, fruit salads and ice cream, setting things on fire, all of it.

@whiska I had a clear temp shift last time in the mid-97s. I agree, I probably didn't O yet. I guess I'm just baffled it's so late and frustrated, cuz I don't know what's normal, and you're normal until you arent, and all that stuff. Let's see if this link works to my chart history. <a href="https://www.fertilityfriend.com/home/RatsPJ">My Ovulation Chart</a>
WAYDTGKU: Finally getting on board the temping and charting train. My thermometer and ovulation strips should be here tomorrow and FF is all ready to go.
R/R/CS: nothing really
GTKY: Keeping with the holiday theme--what is your favorite holiday meal or dish? I love apps before meals. Dips and finger foods are my favorite. I also love ham at Easter and prefer ham on Thanksgiving.

WAYDTGKU: Charting, PNV, did some mucinex, general healthiness
R/R/CS: I'm going to hang out here for a couple more days... So FF gave me solid CH on CD 11 a couple days ago that I didn't trust at all (FAM mode). Switching to Advanced mode gives me dotted on CD 10. Just some background, I historically O around CD 14 (I know, not reliable but still), I historically have O pain (hasn't happened this cycle), AND this is my first cycle take mucinex during my FW - so I'm feeling funky about trusting my CM completely. Temps have been whacko (weird random spike?). This morning I had a rise, maybe yesterday was O day? Or do y'all trust the CH? Sorry if the chart is huge - I'm on my iPhone.
GTKY: For Easter, we do a big pot of sauce, meatballs and homemade manicotti. Mmm. Delicious! This is my first Easter married, so I'm going to incorporate some of DH's traditional southern Easter foods, too. But man that pasta. :9
@kellybean1988 - I still temped, but I took a roughly two week break from bumping and I think that helped me focus on my life outside of TTC better. It was a nice break.
@JediAlly85 - Sorry for CD1 girl! -hug- And I'm all about the lasagna as a holiday meal.
@RatsPJ - I don't see any O on that chart, maybe you're having a super cycle? I recall back before charting I "skipped" a period here or there (which I now know must've just been a late O).
@sarah0985 - Hahaha gosh, that's like us now. DH went to sleep earlier than me last night so I went to bed with him to DTD and went back to watch Netflix after. I literally left the tv on pause while I was in bed. What is this nonsense?
@TheJerilu - I. Love. Cajun food. I'm from south Florida originally, which surprisingly has a fair amount of Cajun food/spices flying around. It's a funky mix of South American/Caribbean island/Cajun down there. I need to cook that way more often.
@vintageandrea90 - Don't be stressed yet. Sometimes your cycle gets a few days different and it doesn't mean anything bad!
@felix08 - I always get ticked at myself for drinking around O. I gave up alcohol for lent this year, and surprisingly my chart had not seemed to improve. I still have whacked out temp spikes. I feel ya. I do think from here on out I'm going to abstain from the big ETOH during my FW, though. It was nice this cycle to know I didn't do anything to make it weird. Less self hate.
@whiska - I feel disconnected from our "group" since we got married. None of them are married, only a couple are in LTRs that are kinda dysfunctional... And none of the gals get why I want to have a baby. We've been slowly hanging out with other people or just enjoying eachother and I feel a little guilty about it. Sometimes I feel "more adult" than them because I want a family now, and then I feel even more guilty. I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one.
@thefarmerswife0411 - Once we buy a house (I told you about the one near my in laws yesterday I think), seriously one of the first things I want to buy is a SMOKER. Yumyumyumyumyum. I'll just sit over here and try to contain my jealousy.
R/R/CS: So, I'm back. Some of you might remember me. I got a BFP on the 6th, right after our diagnosis with MFI and setting a plan for IVF. I announced it in TWW on Monday the 7th. The pregnancy was confirmed with blood work and digi, and I was shocked and blissed out for two days, until my second beta showed static numbers. My RE told me it wasn't viable, and I guess was concerned about ectopic. Very inconvenient since I had a trip to Italy planned for Thursday.
Luckily, on Thursday morning my numbers dropped to half and the ultrasound made it clear it wouldn't be ectopic. I just had to wait to bleed. So we boarded our flight and I got my period in Italy. The period itself wasn't too bad but the cramps were horrendous. Emotionally, I am all over the place. I had accepted we wouldn't get pregnant on our own, and then we did, and then we lost it, and then I was on vacation and everything is normal. It is just so weird, and it hits me when I least expect it. It's amazing how much joy and planning can happen in the span of two days. Even though it was just a chemical and I don't feel like I lost a baby, I feel like I lost...something. We spent the whole night crying when we found out it was gone. It was too good to be true. This has reintroduced a lot of confusion to the process too. Anyway, I guess it's time to get back at it and still wait to do IVF? Who knows.
Thanks for having me back.
GTKY: Keeping with the holiday theme--what is your favorite holiday meal or dish? My aunt makes a huge spread on Christmas day that includes my favorite lasagne. Love that.
Sorry about ghosting yesterday! It was SUCH a long day.
@kellybean1988 Sorry about CD 1 *thumbs down* @JediAlly85 Sorry about CD 1. It's so easy to get sucked into a sad mood. Just remember that now you are another day closer to trying again. (Which is probably no consolation right now.) @Sandwichlover Yay for last day of AF! @RatsPJ I'm not sure I see an O shift yet. Thinking it may not have happened yet. Fx for it soon. @lcsrva I'm so jealous you're going to Italy! @nwegman7878 I would BD anyway. I don't have any experience with Clomid (yet) so I'm not sure if that's the issue, but if you BD anyway you'll probably feel like you didn't miss a chance! @sarah0985 What holiday do you have Mac & Cheese for? And I'll be there for that holiday, save me a seat LOL. Mac and cheese is by far one of my favorite foods. @vintageandrea90 I think it's too soon to tell if you're having an annovulatory cycle. Don't forget that stress can delay ovulation! Maybe it's going to be a few days late because you're willing it to happen. I'm sorry you're having such a difficult time @TheJerilu How do you like the raspberry tea? Have you noticed any difference? I keep telling myself I am going to get some but haven't. Maybe I'll pick some up grocery shopping tomorrow. @britters314 BD away girl! LOL @felix08 I don't drink a lot so I don't have any profound advice. But I am keeping my Fx for a low temp for you tomorrow! @beary67 It IS so exciting turning an OPK lol. Especially if you hadn't before. Happy for you! @DiFazette Fx for a high temp tomorrow! @PepperAT I hate waiting too! I'm super impatient. @whiska I totally understand the hermit life. Sometimes it's too easy. But I am glad you went out last night and had fun. We need to remember US sometimes in this TTC journey! @teamginger13 Fx for a Friday trigger! @PennStateCait Fx for temp spike tomorrow! @thefarmerswife0411 Corned beef on the smoker?! My god my mouth is watering. Quick story, DH and I were given a really nice smoker over the winter by a friend. DH is OBSESSED and yet the only thing he's smoked is a single chicken breast. He is awful at planning a head so instead of doing something low and slow, he always has the bright idea to want to smoke something at like 2 o'clock in the afternoon on a Sunday. And I usually have to talk him down. I'll make sure to plan FOR him this summer so he can use it properly lol. @FSUNole31 Welcome to the dark side my friend lol.

R/R/CS: So my OB told me we can't have unprotected sex between now and my hsg on the 29th. I was prepared for two or three days of no unprotected sex beforehand but I was really surprised they wanted no unprotected sex this entire time (11 days total). DH is a huge baby when it comes to condoms so it looks like we have a HIO break on our hands. I go in tomorrow for my CD 3 blood work. (CD 4 because Sunday). I'm looking forward to getting those results. I also slept for 13 hours last night so that was good! And I got my Wondfo's in the mail on Friday so I'm excited about that!
GTKY: Keeping with the holiday theme--what is your favorite holiday meal or dish? My fav holiday is also Thanksgiving and I have to agree with @RatsPJ that stuffing is my favorite. My mom makes a killer Sausage Stuffing. BUT I think it ties with mashed rutabaga on St. Patrick's Day. I seriously love it so much I make it year round. I especially love to mix it with mashed potatoes. OY so good.
@RatsPJ Gah it's so frustrating waiting for o to get here and then it takes its sweet time! Based on your old charts yeah, I don't think you've o'd yet. I'd say keep up with the opks you have and order more. Since I use the cheapie wondfos I test 2x/day when I think I'm getting close to o (mine go from barely darker to blazing positive in 12 hours!). And then watch for your temp to go above 97.2 or 97.3.
@khbear Unfortunately I think you'll have to wait it out a few more days to see how your temps work out. I could definitely believe you o'd on CD11, especially with a few more temps >97.4. I think o on CD14 is less likely. OR you'll see a temp drop in the next few days and then a more noticeable rise. Look back at your old charts and see which seems more likely. And I'd keep hio in case o is still coming. If you trust your usual symptoms that makes me think you haven't yet. Good luck!

WAYDTGKU: trying perfect timing this cycle with sex ED
R/R/CS: So mini rant here. One of the annoying parts about TTC for me (other than the obvious) is not being able to make long term plans. Friends of ours want us to go to Thailand with them in the fall. We want to go but obviously not if I get KU in the next couple of months. Add to that no one knows we are TTC is making it difficult. I know this is not a big problem compared to more important issues it's more of an annoyance because my personality type is to plan out things (total A-type). Same goes for work, I'm talking to my boss on Friday about launching a major project (which would last at least 2 yrs and I would be the lead) for my department in 6 mos. Wtf am I supposed to say...like that would be great but I could be KU or hopefully will be and gone for at least 6 mos of mat leave during the project? Or a year if DH doesn't want to split the parental leave? She doesn't have kids and would looooose it if she knew. What is your favorite holiday meal or dish? I love food. Like pretty much all food so I could never answer this question with one thing. One of the best parts about the holidays is the leftovers. Turkey and cranberry sauce sandwiches! And all desserts of course. Sugar pie is a French-Canadian favourite and absolutely to die for!

LOL! Ours is relatively new & I swear DH is figuring out things to smoke EVERY WEEKEND. Of course I'm busy in the kitchen doing all the seasoning & prep but he's the one actually using the thing, I would be clueless lol! HAHAHAHA Definitely recommend planning ahead so you can get things going in the morning! With either a giant pot of coffee or a giant pitcher of cocktails! This is our 1st corned beef so I'll keep y'all posted!

I have typically O'd on CD 18 in the past so I'm hoping tomorrow's temp will be lower so we can hio at least one more time. One other note about drinking - I notice that if I drink one day, my temp is elevated the next. But then if I drink a second day in a row, my temp goes WAY up. Maybe that's just me, because I've never read anything about that in the various literature. But that's consistently been the case for me.

Love that.
@kellybean1988 Sorry about CD 1 *thumbs down*
@JediAlly85 Sorry about CD 1. It's so easy to get sucked into a sad mood. Just remember that now you are another day closer to trying again. (Which is probably no consolation right now.)
@Sandwichlover Yay for last day of AF!
I'm sorry you're having such a difficult time
@TheJerilu How do you like the raspberry tea? Have you noticed any difference? I keep telling myself I am going to get some but haven't. Maybe I'll pick some up grocery shopping tomorrow.
@britters314 BD away girl! LOL
@felix08 I don't drink a lot so I don't have any profound advice.
Month/Cycle: 6/4 (Yesterday I said 5, it's definitely 4. I'm horrible at counting)

OY so good.

@rosenyc123 I'm so incredibly sorry to see you back here. My sister miscarried on the way to Hawaii and it just completely changed what was going to be a blissful vacation to a time to reassess and mourn. I can't imagine how difficult it would be. Please take care of yourself and feel free to vent here any time. We're here to listen.
