@riversong15 thanks! It wasn't the text really (we don't actually get to see them in person to much). It was that he texted me a pic of her ultrasound. He is a guy so probably has no clue. I'm not hurt by it. But if I wasn't currently pregnant I would have been hurt I think. Especially since the one an only ultrasound I had was an empty sac due to blighted ovum.
@m6agua yeah texting a pic of an ultrasound is not cool, glad you were okay though!
It's my loss milestone today. I feel like garbage, extra nauseated and so exhausted but I'm so thankful for these two little gummy bears and I can't wait to have today behind me!
@m6agua I know if someone sent me that and I wasnt pregnant right now, I would be hurt. At least he is an excited new dad so you can cut some slack.
During my freak out yesterday I was texting one of my best friends in the waiting room.. who thought it was okay to talk about how she "thinks" shes pregnant. Which she also did after I miscarried last time. Not cool.
@m6agua and @RiverSong15 I have a good friend who knows about my loss and has had 6 losses of her own and is now pregnant and things are going well. I'm really happy for her, but she has been sending me ultrasound pictures since the month after my MC. You would think having gone through this that she would be more sensitive? Or maybe she thinks that her 6 losses gives her carte blanche permission to flaunt her happiness because she's had it so rough. In any regards, I strongly believe in the no ultrasound rule. I hate to sound callous, but nobody cares about your baby's inutero picture, but you. If they ask, feel free share, but u doubt people will ask!
@m6agua sorry that you are having to deal with some insensitive people. Some people are just tone deaf as my husband says and some just clueless what the pain of loss feels like. Even my most well meaning friends sometimes will say and do things that just make me cringe. Never easy though.
Also, thinking about all you ladies getting to milestones. I would tag you but the mobile app is pissy sometimes. Milestones are so rough. I'm thinking of all you. Hoping that getting through those days no matter how hard brings you some peace when you get to the other side. I have what I guess you would call a milestone coming up on the 28th. I'm anxious for it but just going to try and take it an hour at a time if need be.
I'm counting down to my latest loss milestone (8w.) Ten days to go and then I think I'll finally start really getting excited for this one (a bit of excitement has crept in.). This is going to be a very long ten days. My ectopic was at 6+4 which is today for this pregnancy.
For or those who have reached their loss milestones, I offer creepy internet hugs.

Reading about you all dreading the lead-up to your loss milestones makes me feel so not alone- thank you! I'm thrilled for each one of you as you fly right by it!
Mine isn't until 16w, so sometimes I feel like I'm going to pass out from holding my breath. I just keep telling myself to stay in the moment, excited for THIS baby and THIS pregnancy will be a healthy and happy one. So easy to say one moment, but to stick with these mantras has been the most difficult thing ever. If I could just blink and fast-forward to twentysomething weeks, that would be great, ha!

Thinking of you today @RiverSong15 - you'll breathe a big sigh of relief when today is over! I've never been this pregnant before...it's still a bit surreal.
We waited until our loss milestone (9wks) to tell anyone when I was pregnant with our daughter, our rainbow baby. This time we have already told a lot of our family and it gives me the most uneasy feeling, like I am tempting fate. I am also keeping a mental list of who knows because it makes me feel calmer about who we might have to deliver bad news to. Only two more weeks until our milestone and hopefully I can chill a little more after that.

@lilwonder I know how you feel. I keep telling my husband I wish I could fall asleep and wake up when I'm in labor. We've been planning fun things every weekend to help the time move along.
I lost my son at 37 weeks and I'm trying desperately to enjoy this pregnancy and not be a bundle of nerves. Hoping once my extra monitoring kicks in after 20 weeks I'll feel calmer. 13 more weeks till then.
Next milestone/appointment? April 5th for the first appointment
Rant/Rave/Anything else: We lost 1 pregnancy at 4w 2d, and another at 16w. Everything had been fine up until I couldn't find a heartbeat with a fetal doppler. We'd had an ultrasound at the first appt and heard the heartbeat several times at the doctor's and at home. I'm terrified that something will be wrong at the first appointment, but even if it's not I'm probably not going to relax since things were fine the last time. With my son, who is 18 months now, I just loved being pregnant and I hate how this has taken the joy out of it. Maybe as things progress, and hormones settle down, it will get better...
We've told some family, including both parents, and most of my coworkers because I need the support. Apparently my husband's niece is also pregnant with their second child (due 2 weeks-ish before us) and is planning a big announcement at Easter. She doesn't know we are pregnant, but was insensitive about our loss so we're kind of dreading Easter with the family now.
I'm glad to find this forum and the opportunity to share with others in the same situation. Also loving all of the Doctor Who and Jessica Jones usernames.
Questions? Anybody used a fetal doppler at home and know how early it can pick up a heartbeat? Not sure if we'll choose to use it this time or not since it might be too emotional, but I'd like to know when it would be possible to try.

Hi, I'm A. I had a mc in February 4 days after I found out I was pregnant. I had a super faint BFP and had to go to the doctor for an already scheduled appointment the next day so right after I went to women's health and they confirmed. My mom was with me and so she ended up finding out before SO. She can't keep a secret so we told my dad that night (plus it was only fair).
Fast forward, I am 5w today and want to tell my family more than anything, but SO really wants to wait 3 months since he's worried about what happened last month. Also my mom was overly excited the day we found out (went shopping for clothes and a teddy bear, bought flowers, shrieked a lot, etc.) I have no idea how I'll wait that long. I usually talk to my mom almost daily and she's going to start noticing soon that I have been a lot more quiet than usual. I'm just afraid she'll ask me as she already knows AF was late.
Weeks: 5
Next milestone/appointment? Haven't had any tests yet except for a HPT daily (to ensure lines are getting darker) so I'll head in Monday morning to get labs and schedule my first actual appt.
Rant/Rave/Anything else: My best friend just told me she's pregnant with #3 and I am so excited for her but also so freaked out for myself. This morning I also found out boss' wife is also pregnant. And EVERYONE on FB, celebrities, etc. I really have to stop going online (other than here of course which is my new obsession anyway). Fingers crossed that this one goes well, for me and for all of you!
Questions? My SO's mom talked to a psychic who said we'll have twin boys soon. I don't believe in psychics but twins do run in the family (his dad was a twin). Odds of this coming true? (More of a rhetorical question for everyone's entertainment)
Also I haven't really had many symptoms yet other than having to pee a lot and being super hungry. Anyone else in that boat (and find out everything's still ok)? I was several days passed my expected period when I first got my faint BFP so I hope I'm progressing ok.
GTKY: Are you crafty? If so what is your favorite project you have done? Sometimes I paint as a stress reliever. And I love photography. I love crafts but usually don't have the patience for them. My sister on the other hand is super crafty and I've already promised she can decorate the baby's room/wardrobe/etc. Luckily I love her taste.
@agriffes welcome! your symptoms are normal. On the twin front. Your odds are just the same as everyone else. The hereditary factor is passed through the females only (fraternal twins by ovulating more than one egg). Identical twins the probability is the same for anyone. This is taking out age/fertility treatment factor.
@agriffes Twins do not run down the father's side. Identical twins aren't genetic and a tendency towards multiple ovulation (so tendency to have fraternal multiples) would only matter if it was on your side.

Yeah I had to log out and log back in. I am usually so good at this stuff. I'll just claim pregnancy brain on this one.
Question for all of you... is it weird that I haven't had any labs done yet? It seems like everyone here is getting their levels checked, etc. How far along were you when you did that? My mc was so soon after I found out that I was pregnant last time that the only labs I had were at the ER to confirm the mc. When I had my confirmation of pregnancy last time they said I could do labs that day or closer to my 8w appointment. On Monday I'll definitely opt to have them done, I just didn't know if I'm late to the game or something. Also my mom works at the hospital so not telling her is going to be interesting... I'm going on her day off so there's no chance of running into her or her seeing my car in the parking lot. Eek.
@ash111916 - it's not common practice for most docs to follow betas. Usually a positive HPT is enough for them. Those of us who are having levels followed or early ultrasound have a history of recurrent loss, infertility treatment/followed by an RE or have had bleeding or something that required a check.

A history of a single early, uncomplicated loss, while absolutely devastating of course, doesn't put you in the same risk category as those of us who've had recurrent loss, later losses, losses due to known health issues, or are being followed for fertility issues so I think it's probably not abnormal that you haven't had labs yet. My last pregnancy was ectopic, I have been seeing an RE for fertility problems, and I have Asherman's which hasn't been treated yet which is why I am being followed so closely. The early labs aren't necessarily a 'normal' pregnancy milestone, even if they are pretty common.
When I was pregnant with my first, I'd had a miscarriage at 5w before. They didn't do any extra labs or follow up with my pregnancy with him because it wasn't assumed I had anything wrong with me since, unfortunately, miscarriage is really common and not usually a sign of an underlying problem.

@ash111916Regarding testing for HCG and such, it's really not so unusual to not have the tests done. The reason you see a lot of people here doing it is because we have all had losses on this thread. Some of us multiple losses. Testing for HCG is just a way to get peace of mind that the pregnancy is progressing normally before the first ultrasound. I think the majority of women don't know about or bother with HCG testing because they have never had a loss before or this is their first pregnancy.
Edited to add: also most people test sometime between when they get their BFP and before their first ultrasound since that is when the numbers have the most significance. If you are 5 weeks you could still get your betas done this week, but after HCG gets to a certain level it won't double like it does earlier on and at that point ultrasound is really the best way to see if the ppregbancy is progressing normally.
Thanks all! I have a few underlying medical conditions that can cause infertility or increased risk of mc. And I'm a natural worrier so that doesn't help. I've seen a lot of people on other threads testing early too. I guess I'll get a lot of my questions answered on Monday at the doc.

@zrain I love the idea of making a quilt! I still have my rainbow quilt from when I was a kid (actually I think it was my older sister's but at some point I claimed it and now it's mine)! I wish I could sew but since I can't my aunt said she'll make one when I have a baby (she made a beautiful one for her daughter who is pregnant). I just love the idea of having something that you can use forever!
Next milestone/appointment? I haven't made it yet, I'm too nervous. I had my first u/s at 8 weeks last time, unfortunately baby was measuring 2 weeks behind with a HB of 84. They made me wait a week and at the next u/s there was no HB. I then wanted to see if my body would miscarry naturally, it did not. Two weeks later I took Cytotec. I had an adverse reaction that made me hemorrhage and had to have an emergency D&C. Doctor told me to wait two cycles before trying again. Had cycles in Jan & Feb and then a positive pregnancy test one day after my missed period in March. I am beyond nervous.

@kcolv I know what you mean, I keep hoping it will feel real and that we can get excited instead of just being scared. Do you think your MD will see you any sooner this time around? Mine said that she won't do anything different this time, even with the previous losses.
