Your husband has good taste ;)

@roseshadow873 I'm not sure who Alan Rickman is...
Are you one of those Harry Potter deniers on here? I can't remember. He's in Harry Potter and Die Hard, and quite a few British movies.
Does he play Snape? I'm terrible at names but I don't forget a face. I've watched a couple but I like LOTR better.
He plays Snape. He was also in Die Hard and Dogma.

  • I still can't believe it: babies could be coming at like any time. Ahhh!

SHHH don't say it out loud!!! I'm in denial about that so I can avoid a major meltdown about all of the things left on my to-do list before baby arrives lol.

  • Ok seriously. .. let's get this baby shower going. I know there is multiple things that can "induce" labor naturally. But do we know of anything that has actually worked. A friend of mine recommended Raspberry tea, she swears that's what started her labor. I will definitely be trying that. Anything else!?

Totally doesn't. You can actually drink it starting the moment you get pregnant as long as your doctor says ok. The recommendation is to start drinking it at 35 weeks to help tone the uterus.

I tried the whole nipple stimulation thing... It worked for a while, then I would stop doing it, and stop contracting. Now if I do it I lactate, so I'm over trying that method lol...

Trying not to laugh at you making healthier choices sock wise >.<
Is it bad that I only picked the fruit ones because one of the pairs had full pineapples on it.., and I felt that maybe the universe would get that I don't actually LIKE pineapple... so the socks were supposed to be a representation of me eating a full pineapple to induce labor... Since I'm so sick of being pregnant and LO keeps trying to come out anyways.

  • My doctor asked me if I had been having contractions yesterday and I was like, uh, I don't know? Maybe? A bit? Even though I'm a STM I don't honestly know what a real contraction feels like for me, partially because I was pitocin induced so those were super intense that I can remember.

I honestly don't remember any specifics of labor and delivery barely at all. Any other STMs that way?

I remember the basic logistics of what happened with DD, but couldn't remember any of the sensations of labor until a few nights ago. Those contractions hurts and then I was like, ohhhhh yeah. I remember this.

I kinda have the opposite - I only felt contractions with DD during labor, not even BH. Now between months of BH and having up to 3-4 irregular contractions per hour for a couple weeks, I'm afraid I'm going to not notice when I'm in actual labor. I'd love to avoid the mess of my water breaking at home, but at least then I'd know for sure when to go in...

I've actually had three dreams this pregnancy about giving birth. All three dreams were of me giving birth to a boy instead of a girl though. The last birth dream I had was incredibly vivid. I could see every single tiny detail of that baby girl's face... She looked so much like DS when he was born, but she had minor differences that would be completely realistic. I was so upset after that dream... DH made it worse by saying that LO might actually be a girl after all, since there's a small chance that the tech was wrong. Doubtful. Extremely doubtful. We saw testicles AND a penis. We're having another boy.

Babies get extremely swollen while I'm the womb. As much as people don't want to think about it, they also get "aroused." Obviously they have no idea that they're "aroused," but they still get baby boners/engorged clitoris. Yay for tons of blood flow! That's why they no longer identify a fetus' sex based on the presence or lack of a penis. They check for testicles and see if they can see a cleft where the vagina would be.

I kind of remember what labor was like? The only thing I remember was that the time between my water breaking and actually pushing was the worst... And that was only for about 30 minutes. Pushing actually wasn't that bad. I just kept reminding myself that with each push, there would be one less until my baby was born and labor was over.

I've gotten a clear readout on both in the same picture lol. Being aroused isn't always sexual anyway, just a physical happenstance, especially in small children.

As a boy mom, that's 100% accurate. DS wakes up most mornings with a baby boner. As DH puts it, it's just his body telling him good morning.

DS has always, but not that long ago he woke up and was really upset about it because it wouldn't go away and he asked me very dramatically if he was going to die - I was like "no buddy, you're not going to die.. but you need to talk to your dad about that one!"

As bad as this sounds, I really had to bite my tongue to keep from laughing at the situation.

That reminds me a of funny childhood memory. When the twins were about 3 or 4, my brother Travis came running into the kitchen butt naked yelling "it won't go down!" over and over again. My dad hD to explain to him what was happening while we all ate breakfast because Travis wouldn't get up off of the floor haha.

Don't even get me started on this stupid show... It is so innacurate and an offense to my profession!

E.R. Was amazing though. You could actually learn Medicine by watching it. The authors did excellent research and consultations for the cases showcases.
I used to love watching ER with my mom! Granted, I was about 6 and most of the jargon went over my head. I just yelled at my TV that "You don't suction for that long anyway, you fuck!" as they suctioned the seizing patient...after putting a tongue depressor in her mouth while she seized. Why are they always seizing? Mike just shook his head and asked why it's even still on. There's nothing good on Netflix :(

I have to to say my gentleman crush is Gerard Butler. Mmmm.
By the time ER made it to Brazil I was already late into high school, so I only really watched it during medschool. It was very well done.

  • I discussed the "stripper/hooker" name issue with DH. His explanation?

    1. Those are the names of actual strippers that they talk to other guys about. We know a few people who used to be strippers, so we've heard their aliases.
    2. Those are the names of the girls that always "seem" to sleep around or who are "constantly" becoming pregnant. His examples: Jessica, Nicole, Veronica, Maddison, Holly.

Had our childbirth class and hospital tour today. Three things I have officially decided:

    1. I do not, under any circumstances, want an epidural AT ALL EVER. NO. STAY AWAY.
    2. I do not, under any circumstances, want a cesarean section AT ALL EVER. NO. STAY AWAY.
    3. I do not, under any circumstances, want to give birth AT ALL EVER. NO. STAY AWAY.

I don't really want this baby inside me anymore, though, so.... yeah. Could be a problem.
I feel the exact same way about #3, its a huge fear of mine. I'm trying to mentally prepare for a c-section incase it's needed. Oh and I'm petrified of tearing or being cut. There's a Feb-April FB page where woman who are giving birth are posting their stories and it's giving me even more anxiety than before. Woman talking about how painful going to the bathroom is after birth and breast feeding is.

I'm 36+5 and was just telling DH I can't even imagine LO growing anymore because there's no more room. I'm in so much pain and discomfort. My organs are squished and I want to cry.

Someone mentioned raspberry leaf tea which I've started drinking three times a day now. From what I've read several places it is not labor inducing, but tones the uterus and helps prevent tearing during labor which is what I fear. I will gladly drink the tea all day if it works. It tastes nice so I don't mind. The only thing to remember is to get real raspberry leaf and not just an aroma tea with raspberries.

Ill go make myself another cup now.

Was it an acupressure foot massage? This was the go to method when I was living in China. I used to go for a weekly foot massage and it was important to disclose if one was pregnant in case some of their fancy footwork would bring about labour. I would give it a go.

I had full on L&D amnesia by a few weeks out. Probably why I was willing to go through this again. I don't remember any of the pain, just the memory of having to get extra drugs because DD1 was popping my hip joint out and forcing it to stay that way. My water broke before contractions started last time, so if it's the other way around this time I probably won't know what's going on for a bit

  • @elasticheart13 I've been drinking the tea three times a day at work since the third tri started. I drank it with DS and only had one minor labial tear. With him I started drinking the tea at 35 weeks.
