Oh, and watch out. My husband has heartburn and is laying on the couch covering his face like its the worst time of his life. If you see me on the news tonight, it was justified.
I love Slapsgiving! DH said "Just because you hurt doesn't mean I can't hurt too." Yes, that is technically true. I have a feeling my husband is slowly joining the pre-baby freak out club.
If mine continues his antics I'll probably be excited to go into labor...but as of now I'm happy to keep her where I can't ruin her as easily!
I successfully just painted my toenails. do I get a trophy or something ?
Yes you deserve one!!!! How did you do it? I'm having a pedi tomorrow morning, I can't even bother trying! Shaving my legs during shower tonight was already hard enough of a task...
I sat on the bench in the bathroom , put my back against the wall and put one foot up at a time onto the bench ( froggy style kinda) and leaned to the inside of each leg and painted.
im supposed to be getting a pedicure next week Wednesday but I dunno if I'll make it that far or not so just in case I painted them myself
@CCLow87 Jealous! Since we were worried that I may be going into labor last night, no sex happened I'm hoping we can get DS down for bed early enough for something to finally happen! It also means my body needs to cooperate. LO needs to stop cock-blocking me. That's supposed to start AFTER he's born, not before!
DH is stuck getting more things from my parents place, since my dad is apparently in super crazy mode and wants everything out NOW because he decided the day we moved to start remodeling the house. So far they repainted the entire house and have all of the new flooring ordered. I'm just happy that I'm not living there during renovation... I'm also impressed that they actually picked a suitable wall color this time around. When they first picked everything for the house (it was in the process of being built when they bought it), they picked a dark red carpet, white trim, and denim blue walls... Ew. Now the walls are a nice neutral tone that lighten up the house.
Everyone keeps talking about what percentile their LO is measuring at and I'm just sitting over here, shrugging, because I've NEVER been told a percentile until LO was out of my uterus.

I have been told nothing of his size either. They haven't tried to measure. It sounds like it is inaccurate anyway so what's the point? I am worried mine is going to be huge though.

I only did with DD because my fundal height measurements were so off. I have only seen this LO at the a/s scan. I kinda wish I had an idea so I knew if we need preemie clothes (DD SWAM in her NB the first few weeks).

Maybe they only mention size when the percentile is on the lower or higher side? When they gave me my estimate (88th percentile, yipes), they said its an overestimation--approximately 15% give or take. They probably just wanted to give me the heads up "YO your kid *might* be huge who knows" haha, but I think everyone has to understand that there is no concrete way to determine size and weight until the little tike is born anyhow.

They didn't tell me either, the only reason I even know mine is because after my ultrasound tech leaves the office I'm nosy and go through the open window, take pictures of all the screens, and review later at my leisure.
Some practices just keep it quiet if it's within normal ranges, figuring there's no reason to have you prepping for one thing or another when these measurements can be so off. At my doc, they only say anything if baby is measuring far to either extreme.
@fbanke42 I've never been told either, but the midwife I saw last week told me that she weighs around 6 pounds...by feeling her. I would really like to know how accurate she is and how long she's been practicing.
I want to throw things at everybody who posts in the "no weight gain" thread. IDGAF yo.
Um, did you actually read that thread? OP has a previous health condition and was worried about not gaining and wanted tips TO gain. Is there something wrong that or are you just feeling grouchy about your body right now, because I'm sure we all probably are, but sheesh.

I did, thanks for asking.
ETA: OP wrote "eating well and staying hydrated has been an issue". Sooo, start there? I just can't. Sorry if that offends you.
@AmadorRose The midwife wouldn't even give me a weight estimate when I had a quick ultrasound last week. All she did was check fluid levels ("you've got a LOT of fluid in there, which is good!") and that LO was head down. I'm hoping for SOME insight during my next appointment when I'm almost 38 weeks. If LO lets me make it that long. He's seriously been trying my mental health with all of this nonsense recently... DH, my ILs, and my parents aren't helping. DH and my ILs think I'll go into labor before April. My dad keeps trying to tell me I'm probably farther along but with a small baby. My mom just keeps shrugging and saying she was born a month early and did perfectly fine. I know he runs the show, but I want him to be full term.

Well it is hard to eat well for a number of reasons. It's probably even harder if you are being treated for lupus, which sounds dreadful.
@RoseShadow873 My grandmother has lupus, and it's been really hard for her to stay healthy over the years. She also has lymphoma, so that's probably part of it.

You're welcome. I was curious as to whether you didn't read it or were actually just being intentionally rude despite the fact. Question answered.
Being able to maintain quality hydration and nutrition when dealing with chronic illness outside of pregnancy can be a struggle in itself. During pregnancy, it compounds. It was a legitimate concern that she and other people actually should "GAF" about.
@cmjenkies I am sure it is a difficult position to be in, but the way I read it was:
Problem: OP cannot gain weight because of a medical condition (and corresponding drugs). OP openly states they are not eating and drinking enough to gain weight anyway so this is pretty much the expected outcome, however unfortunate.
Answer: Seek medical/dietary treatment. Perhaps try high risk board.
It's just my knee-jerk reaction to weight related threads. Too high, too low, for medical reasons, whatever the case may be. It's an across-the-board thing, not specific to one person. If that's rude... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Also on the House/lupus note... My mom, sister, and I are TERRIBLE people. When my grandmother told all of us that she was diagnosed with lupus, the three off us said at the exact same time "IT'S NEVER LUPUS." My grandmother was beyond confused... When we explained it to her, she laughed, but at the same time, we felt bad for making light of a serious health condition.

I love what an asshole he is but shortly after the listening/not listening thing, they stuck a tongue depressor in the mouth of someone who was seizing. I can't watch super innacurate war movies or shows either so I might not get through it. I've only ever caught bits and pieces until now but I'm so dissapointed
There is just something ridiculous going on with my appetite lately. I seriously only want to eat ice cream, popcorn, and cake. I'm not, but man if I don't want to! I did have popcorn and ice cream yesterday. Cupcakes sound divine. There was just a commercial for ice cream, random flavors shown, I want butter pecan. Wth, I don't even like butter pecan! I ate some whole fruit raspberry sorbet to keep myself from making popcorn or eating more Brownie Batter Core ice cream. I'm eating the healthy things, but seriously...Publix cupcakes, buttery popcorn, and decadent ice cream with chunks of dough and batter...I may need to rethink the food I'm having my parents bring me at the hospital! Originally it was going to be Anthony's meatball pizza...but now, maybe a fancy sundae...and a fancy cupcake from Smallcakes to celebrate the 0 birthday...
So I started watching House, and the dude just listened to someone's heart with the ear pieces of the stethoscope AROUND HIS NECK. I just can't.
Don't even get me started on this stupid show... It is so innacurate and an offense to my profession!
E.R. Was amazing though. You could actually learn Medicine by watching it. The authors did excellent research and consultations for the cases showcases.
I'm laughing my butt off at one of my friends wives... She posted a photo of herself yesterday talking about self-esteem issues and trying to be true to herself, not being a copy of another person, telling herself that it's ok to like what she likes, etc. That's fine and dandy, but the photo makes her look EXACTLY like her husband's ex-gf that she absolutely hates. I actually thought it was the ex who posted the picture when scrolling through my Facebook last night (DH and I are still friends with that ex). The reason that she hates that ex? The ex caught the wife cheating on her (now) husband with her (then) husband and decided to be a good person and let the guy know. I'm sorry, but you can't really hate on the person who caught you cheating... You were the one doing something wrong, not them... So her looking like a carbon copy of the ex just totally negates the entire post for me.

The show's pretty bad. It's always some crazy, rare thing that no one except House suspects and of course he is always right and saves their life just in time. The only thing I like about the show is that Hugh Laurie is in it.

Hugh Laurie is the only reason I watched the show, too. He's my older gentleman crush.

My diet is the same way!! Cookies, cake, popcorn, shitty for me stuff. I'm super struggling with it at the moment.

I used to love watching ER with my mom! Granted, I was about 6 and most of the jargon went over my head. I just yelled at my TV that "You don't suction for that long anyway, you fuck!" as they suctioned the seizing patient...after putting a tongue depressor in her mouth while she seized. Why are they always seizing? Mike just shook his head and asked why it's even still on. There's nothing good on Netflix
I have to to say my gentleman crush is Gerard Butler. Mmmm.
