Yesterday i actually won. I never was close with my mother, in fact she was abusive and drank. She's completely turned around and loves being a grandmother. She cleaned my house yesterday while i napped and had a glass of wine. The vet called, and for those who don't know we suspected my beloved springer spaniel was having kidney issues. His kidneys are fine. We still aren't sure what's going on but he's on antibiotics and the vet thinks it's treatable. My mom also watched the baby while DH finished sanding the floor in the guest room and i went to Zumba
I hope I'm going to be winning soon. Just had a session with the lactation consultant to go over DS's eating issues. Got a ton of good info and she thinks once he's eating better he'll start sleeping more than an hour at a time every night. Also, it's my birthday, so cake
&& so so glad the vet thinks your pup is treatable @mrsgetz4000 ! We lost our old man pup the week before we found out I was pregnant, we miss him every day. There's no love in the world like the love of an old dog
Today is my ods 2nd birthday, hes been an angel today(normally not), and we went to get the boys pictures done with the easter bunny and there was noone in line which is a win cuz i was really worried about that since it was 5pm and noone cried yay! Also its a beautiful day
@mrsgetz4000 - Similar situation with my mom! Recovering alcoholic, she and I are not close, but she is actually doing great as a grandma and loves it! I'm just happy that she's sober and able to enjoy this time.
I am also winning today because my husband has the day off and has basically let me rest most of the day. He's done all of the feedings and diaper changes, did a load of laundry and meanwhile I've had two naps and spent an hour playing music, which I haven't had time to do since the LO was born. I also got to walk the dog in the beautiful sunshine and I get to take him out again tonight. Still feeling tired and achy, but much, much better than I have been feeling.
Finally got called about the job interview I've been waiting on! A transfer within the company that will allow me to leave night shift behind! I interview tomorrow and I'm supposed to return to work Monday night. I've been so stressed about leaving my baby at night (hubby works 2nd shift). Now I am just really nervous even though rumor is I've already got the job!!!
I know it's now Thursday, but dammit, I win! Baby girl slept around 9 hours straight?! Total fluke, but her diaper was even dry, although not for long. I tried to feed her, she pooped, and passed back out without finishing her bottle! I don't even know what to do with myself. I got dressed (even remembering to brush my teeth and put on deodorant) and I did my makeup! Wahooo! Feeling like a million bucks today.
Wow! 8 and 9 hours??? I was so happy to only have 1 wake up last night. Even more importantly, the second half of the night was 4 hours. Usually it's about 2-2.5 hours before she's up again. I'll be happy with my win.
Okay, it's no longer Wednesday, but I just had to share because this is the coolest - the brewery where my husband is a manager named a special beer after our baby! Because our family is super Irish, her namesake beer will be available tonight and it's an Irish red.
