Evelynn Leigh arrived on the 28th of February at 11:24 AM, 6 days before her due date on the 5th. She weighed 8 pounds 10 ounces and is 20 1/4 inches. She's been a happy baby thus far and is the cutest smoosh ever seen (I'm just a little biased). My phone won't let me share the picture with y'all so you'll have to take my word for it
Our little guy arrived yesterday, via csection. I was feeling a lot of guilt for not attempting a vac. Little guy was 8 lbs, 13 oz and 20 inches long. Turns out he had the cord around his neck twice and the doctor was very glad we did a section. Everything went smoothly and I love my cute little guy!
Diego René born at 1:15 am on 3/1/16, 20.5 in., 9 lbs even. Big cheeky boy and momma are doing great!!!
Water broke on Monday 2/29 around 10am, headed right to L&D because of gbs+ and needed to get antibiotics started, labor was stalling all day though, but once it got going it only took 2 good pushes and baby boy was born!
Lucas Reid (6.3 lbs) and Logan Flynn (5.7 lbs) made their grand entrance to the world via c-section on 2/26 at 37.6 weeks. Both boys are absolutely perfect and I can't wait to take them home today.
Duke Kristopher Anthony Jurkovich born 3-1-16 via planned CS. Duke was born 6lbs 12oz and 21 inches long.
Our baby is healthy and we are feeling very blessed. words cannot describe how in love with my son I am. I can't wait to spend my life being this boys mommy!!
Kaitlyn Amanda was born by scheduled c-section at 12:36 pm this afternoon. She had been breech, and didn't turn during the version we had not quite 2 weeks ago. It turns out she had her cord wrapped around her legs. She weighed 9lbs. 4.5oz, and was welcomed by all her grandparents and big brother, who was afraid to touch her. Lol. She is already spoiled, and won't sleep unless I'm holding her.
Ephraim Randall arrived on his due date of 3/3! He's 7 lbs 11 oz measuring 20.5 in tall. He's taken to breast feeding like a champ, which is a huge relief for his nervous FTM. Baby, mommy, & daddy are all well & totally smitten with one another.
Oliver was born this morning (March 4) at 4:45 am. He weighs 7 lbs 4 oz and is 19.5 inches long, making him a little smaller than his big brother and sister were. He was due March 9
I started having contractions at 9:30 on Thursday. They were 3 minutes apart right away. Got to the hospital at 10:30, water broke right before 2 and it was pretty painful after that. But I got another med free birth like I wanted and everything went pretty smoothly! So happy and so tired after not sleeping at all last night!
Charlotte Elizabeth aka "Charlie" born 3/1 at 40 weeks via scheduled C-Section. No complications with baby or mum (like last time) and we're all home and happy. We love her.
Baby Henry arrived on March 3, 2016, at 2:41 PM. He weighed 8lbs, 13.4oz, and was 21.5" long.
Longer birth story: At my OB check on March 2 my blood pressure - which had been stable throughout my entire pregnancy - was extremely elevated. Unfortunately I was 0cm dilated, 70% effaced, and a -2 station. DH, my doctor, and I all agreed that it was time for baby to get out, but my doctor was clearly recommending a C-section because he didn't think an induction would succeed (due to baby's predicted size and the fact that he was not engaged). He was also concerned for my mental state, as my mother suffered a traumatic brain injury on February 23 in a car accident and has been hospitalized ever since with a very uncertain recovery. Nonetheless, I had a successful induction with DS1, and did not want to go straight to C-section. My OB arranged for me to go to the hospital at 8PM on 3/2 to start Cytotec to ripen my cervix.
Lo and behold, when I arrived at the hospital, I was dilated 2-3cm, and so the Cytotec was cancelled and Pitocin was ordered for 4AM. Started the pit on the morning of 3/3, and was making slow and steady progress. By 7ish I was starting to feel extreme pain and vomited, so I decided to get the epidural even though I was just 3.5cm and still at -2 station. The epidural started out great, but pretty soon it was obvious there was a window that wasn't getting pain relief. Despite another tweak, I requested the epi be replaced once the anesthesiologist explained that I was at risk of needing general anesthesia if a C-section became necessary. That was a great decision because I finally got total pain relief. My OB was reluctant to break my water because of the baby's high station, but eventually did so when I was around 7 or 8cm. That really helped bring the baby down, and all of a sudden I started to feel intense perineal pressure. The baby was finally descending and my OB let me labor down.
I started pushing at 2:33 PM and the baby was born at 2:41 PM - to the great surprise of everyone given the baby's size. My doctor told me afterward he thought I would be pushing for 90 minutes! I am so glad I chose the induction rather than going for the C-section, and that I stayed ahead of the pain. I am a little sore and obviously tired, but functioned much better and enjoyed so much more of his delivery than I did with my first son. Breastfeeding is going better as well. We went home on Friday and are enjoying this sweet addition to our family.
Little Evelyn 'Evie' Mae joined our family March 4 @ 5:42pm weighing 7lb 3oz and 19.5" at 38w6d. She looks just like her brother Andrew and we are all totally smitten!
birth story, I made Dh give it up Friday morning after avoiding all week because of leap year and ds2s birthday on March 2. I went to the gym as usual afterward and took a barre class where I was really crampy but figured it was from the sex and it would wear off. After class I was walking to my car and felt a small but noticeable gush (and I had just peed minutes before) and I was wondering if it could be my water, but nothing more came so ds3 and I kept our coffee date with a friend. During the next hour the contractions picked up so I texted Dh to skip his haircut and meet me at home. I took a quick shower to see if the contractions would slow down but they didn't so off to the hospital we went! The test strip for amniotic fluid was 'inconclusive' but I was at a 5 and having regular contractions so I got admitted. Got the epidural an hour later at 7cm, and about an hour later pushed her out in just a few minutes. Overall a pretty quick and easy delivery! She had some trouble maintaining her body heat for the first few hours after birth and Dh had to do skin to skin with her for a couple hours to finally get her temp up and she didn't want to latch on to nurse until around midnight but since then she's been an eating champ! I had a few stitches and am pretty sore today but staying on top of the Motrin/Tylenol helps. Feeling sad but relieved to be done with this chapter of our lives (thanks hormones) and so blessed. Looking forward to seeing the rest of our March beauties!
Juliet Rose came into this world on March 3rd at 39+1 weeks via induction. She was 6 lbs 13 oz and 19" long.
I've had high BP towards the end of this pregnancy and my OB wanted to do an induction for health reasons. I had 1 last appt on March 3 at 3:45pm and BP was still high so I got sent to L&D right away to get things started. After getting settled in, my OB broke my water at 5pm and said I was already 5cm dilated and 80% effaced. We walked around for a few hours and contractions were about 10 mins apart. Around 8pm my OB ordered pitocin to get contractions closer together. By 8:30 they were 2-3 mins apart. At 9:15pm I had a cervical check and was 8cm and the nurse called my OB as she felt I would be delivering soon. Around 945pm I felt the urge to push and my OB just showed up to prepare for delivery. A few contractions and pushes later, she was out at 9:54pm. I still can't believe it happened so fast! I had no tears and has been a pretty easy recovery. We are so blessed baby is healthy and breastfeeding is going great.
Luke Michael Wayne Rogers joined our party on 3/7/16. My original DD of 2/27 was adjusted to 3/5 with the dating u/s. He was 9#1oz and 22" long.
I I was hoping for a VBAC which I did not end up with, but this was still a beautiful healing birth experience.
I had contractions for a few weeks and was dilated and 90% effaced by my DD. Sunday morning (40+1) I had a small gush of water. We headed to L&D where the on call doc was less than VBAC friendly. Luckily my water test came back negative and they let me go home after monitoring. I had dilated more just in the short time we were there so I thought this might be early labor. We were able to run some errands and eat out. Went to bed at 830pm and was awaken at 1030 with that distinct POP that so many talk about. My water had broken!!! My body was working.
We we gathered our son and things and started the 45 minute drive. Contractions came hard and fast. My husband panicked. He is not good with blood guts and although nothing was happening like that my pain level freaked him out. I called 911 and he pulled into a fire station on our route. An ambulance took me the rest of the way while he followed.
I I was a bit frantic by the time we got to the hospital. Pain was out of this world. I know labor is different for everyone but ladies who can go drug free are a whole 'nother level of crazy awesome crazy. My heart rate way bad. Babies heart relate was bad. And the same doctor was in house. Without much monitoring at all he comes in and tells me he reccomends another section. I asked him to leave. And I told my ANGEL of a nurse and my doula I would reconsider once I had an epidural and was thinking clearly. Right now my room was chaos and so was I.
Got the epidural - she was amazed I was able to sit still after having witnessed most of the action. BUT as expected removal of the pain for me helped both me and baby return to normal. I was able to labor they the rest of the night and they to the doctor shift change st 8am!!! Yay. No pushing till the new on call was in house!!!
The he new on call was super calm and VBAC supportive! We made t to 10 cm and started to push. He moved from 0station to 1 so some progress but after 3 hours of pushing there was no more movement down. Disappointment. I had been in labor for 15 hours with an additional 3 hours of pushing. On my new OBs advice we turned down the epidural so that I could try pushing outside the bed. She knew at this point he was sunny side up but could not push him back up enough to turn him manually. (OUCH TRYING) so I got on hands and knees for a minute then was able to squat using the back of the bed. I explained this as how you go poop when camping in the woods. Very classy. Still no movement down. So I threw in the towel. I am so very proud of how I educated myself this time and gave it my all.
During the section the OB let me know his hand was up by his face blocking him more. And oh his poor head. As you can see in the photo he was stuck on my pelvic bone. The divot has slowly faded but it is still there a bit.
I fiund out out it wasn't the outcome I had hoped for but EXACTLY the process I needed. I feel extremely healed from my last birth. I succeeded.
Xposted in january and VBAC boards for all the amazing women who helped and inspired me. ❤️
Clare Barbara born 3/9 at 39+5. 8lbs 6oz and 22inches long. Had contractions all day 3/8 but not close together and already had a doctors appt that afternoon. Was seen at the doctors office and was 3cm dialated. Sent to L&D for slightly elevated blood pressure. Got sent home since contractions were still to far apart and blood pressure had dropped. The understanding was that we would probably be back in 24 hours, but was told to get some rest and some food. Came back about 10:30pm and was admitted. About midnight my water broke in an epic manner. My nurse told me it was in the top 5 massive water breaks she had ever seen. Got an epidural and a few hours sleep I dialated fully by 9am but she was still at a -2 station. Started pit to try and move her down. Tried pushing around 11am for an hour but due to drops in her heartbeat and absolutely no movement down we opted for a section. Turns out it was a good thing! Her cord was wrapped around her torso more than once. Had a great section experience and am so happy she is here!
Jude Gray born 6:08pm on 3/3; 8 lbs 20 in 39 weeks and 1 day.
Induced due to high blood pressure and protein in urine at doctor's visit on 3/3. Started pitocin at 10am. Requested epidural around 3:30pm at 4cm. Labor progressed rapidly after that. I pushed about a half dozen times and he was out! Welcome to the world!
Sadie Sue Ann born on at 38weeks & 2days. 7lbs 7oz and 20" long. Came into L&D dilated to a 6, they hurried and got my epidural (which unfortunately did not work for me very well). Slowed at an 8 so they broke my water. 15 minutes of practice pushes, and six contractions with the doctor and she made her appearance at 2:05pm! We are smitten and can't believe how much hair she has!
Virginia Karen aka Ginny was born at 10:10 pm on March 12th. She was 8 lbs 12 ounces, 21 inches long, with a 14 inch head! She had all of us completely fooled into thinking she was going to be a small baby. I was induced at 10 am, and had reached 9 cm by 6 pm. I got an epi, which slowed everything waaay down, and then it accidentally got yanked out and had to be re-inserted, which slow things down even more. But, when it came time to push, I only pushed for 10 minutes! 6 contractions and she was out! Everyone is happy and healthy and resting comfortably in very little pain.
Avery Rose was born March 11th @ 8:46pm, 7 lbs 11 oz., 19.5 inches long. One day before her due date!
I was in labor about 29 hours. Admitted to the hospital at 1pm and progressed fairly quickly from there. I pushed for a little over an hour, and of course, the epidural ran out during that time. After I was almost sure she wasn't coming out, two more rounds of pushes and she was here! She is pure joy and simply amazing. We are so in love.
Amelia Christine was born in 3/6 at 39+4 via c-section due to breech presentation. We found out at 36 weeks and did EVERYTHING we could to try and help her turn. She was just too comfortable. I was planning another med free birth, so this was pretty crushing. But I came to terms with it and it was actually a really good experience.
I started having contractions on Saturday, but nothing consistent or real feeling. Around midnight, they became the real deal and I decided to take a shower at 2am to get ready to go to the hospital for the c-section. I was still hoping she'd turn in labor, but she never did. I labored until around 8am or so when they came to take me to the OR and get the epidural going. Both the epidural and csection were just so weird and uncomfortable, but not painful. My husband and my doula were my rocks during the procedure. They helped keep my mind off of what was happening and before I knew it, I was hearing her cry and the relief of it all made me cry too. After they suctioned her and got her apgar scores, she was put on my chest and we did skin to skin until sometime after we went into the recovery room. She took to breastfeeding immediately. We were in the hospital for 48 hours. One week post op and I'm still in pain, but it's controlled with ibuprofen and I'm taking it easy, which isn't easy to do with a 2.5 year old.
Sylvia Anne was born March 4th at 12:29pm, 7lb 12oz, 20.5in long. Water broke at 3am that morning and we headed to the hospital at 5:30 because my contractions were only 2 1/2 minutes apart. 1cm dilated at 7am, but went ahead and got the epidural because of how close together the contractions were. Thank goodness! 8cm by 9am, ready to push by 10:30am. After pushing for the longest two hours of my life, Sylvia was here. Unfortunately, her color was not good so they had to take her to the NICU after just a few minutes. Thus began a week long stay in the NICU while the doctors treated her for a severe case of jaundice that was not responding to conventional treatments. Her bilirubin levels were so high they were worried about it crossing the blood/brain barrier and considered doing a blood exchange, but thankfully it never came to that. We were finally able to bring her home on March 11th and she is doing well. We are so relieved, and excited to start our lives as a family of three (plus doggie big brother Rudy). Even though it was a rough first week, we feel very blessed with how things turned out. Many babies in the NICU had been there for months, and my heart truly goes out to those families. Their strength and endurance amaze me.
Went to be induced on Sunday at 8pm at 39+4. I was 1cm dilated so they started me on a drug at 10pm to help soften the cervix but said I was already contracting on my own frequently - four hours later I was at a 5 which quickly went to an 8 then a 10... 6am rolled around, 10ish contractions or so later and she was out. I'm amazed at just how "easy" and relatively pain free my labour was. Luckily didn't do the pitocin and baby only caused a few minor tears so I'm sore but happy and feeling grateful. She was a huge 8lb 10.5 and measures 21 inches.. Very happy that she's so big especially given my recent surgery and the extreme weight loss that went with that. Very tired and ready for some sleep !!
Emma Rosalie (8lb 12oz, 20in.) was born Sunday at 39+3 at 3:30 pm after 12 hours of labor, including 1.5 hours of pushing. Both the labor and pushing times were halfed from my first labor, and I made it to 8cm before an epidural. The nurses and I thought DH was a great coach! I was really sick (vomiting, dizzy, ringing ears) through the end of pushing and for about 5 hours after delivery, so DH has gotten a lot more bonding time in. She is strong and healthy with an incredible amount of hair. We love "Baby Sister" and are so blessed.
Malcolm Jeremiah was born on Monday, March 14th at 12:29 am. He was exactly 8 pounds and 20.5" long.
I went into labor Saturday night and my water started leaking early Sunday morning. I went into L&D Sunday at 1 in the afternoon and was started on Pitocin because I hadn't progressed much on my own. After my epidural I went from 3 to 8 cm in 40 minutes, and was ready to push an hour later. I only had to push 12 times and he was here.
We we are completely in love with his full head of blonde hair and his sweet personality. Big brother is excited!
Ilan Gabriel was born at 11:58 pm on March 13th (due date March 11th). He made it just in time for mommy to win the family pool. He was born at 7lbs and 11.5 ounces and 20.5 inches long. Safe to say IUGR was not present He was bigger than DS1. I woke up with very mild 15-25 min apart contractions on Sunday at 325 am which allowed me to keep sleeping. Contractions came roughly 7-8 minutes apart and mild most of the day slowly progressing to 5-7 minutes apart and still mild to medium. By 8pm we were packed but decided to go nap with some ocean sounds and hypnobirthing affirmations. Best decision ever as contractions slowed to 20 minutes apart allowing me to sleep for over an hour. By 10:00pm hubby accidentally woke me which started them again. They were again mild to medium slowly increasing in intensity but only 3.5 minutes apart. After about 30 minutes I said we should go in. As soon as I got up I got the shakes and suspected that perhaps I'm way closer than I thought and in transition. Shakes never stopped till after delivery. Called doula to meet us at hospital. Got to triage by 11:15pm. After 30 minutes of them trying to get baby on monitor (he kept moving) finally checked me and I was at 9. I couldn't believe how close we were and that I was handling contractions so well at 2.5 min apart now. Midwives started tub for water birth and a minute later my water broke mid contraction. Holy crap that started to hurt. I immediately felt pressure like needed to poop. Walked across the hall to l&d room with water filling in tub but went straight to the bed and got on fours. 4 strongest contractions ever his head was out. My doula was a savior for me. Now I know what the ring of fire is! This felt good as it gave me something to do with those contractions and focus on. Next contraction his shoulders and butt. I thought I was going to die but I made it. Medication free and zero complications. I think I was crying in disbelief. Two tiny tears. Baby did the breast crawl. Amazing experience if you get a chance. So happy and in love with our DS2 ever since. Picture later. Just wanted to type up before I forget.
Labor went so fast! Contractions started at 4:30 in the morning. They stayed between 14-18 minutes apart all morning. My water broke around noon and within 15 minutes they progressed to 4 minutes apart!! My husband raced home from work and we got to the hospital at 1:30. We had DD with us because my mom hadn't arrived from out of state yet! I was 4cm and 80% effaced. By 2:25 I was 10cm and started pushing (no time for an epidural!!! Oh and DD hung out in the nurses lounge eating Popsicles, haha!! My mom got to the hospital like 5 minutes after I started pushing).
My beautiful Adeline Jeanne was born at 3:11 pm! 7lbs 1oz, 19 1/2 inches long! Spitting image of big sister, Juliet! I got my Ides Baby!!
Honor Josefina born March 9th at 6:52 pm via c-section. She was 6 lbs 7 oz 19 1/2 inches long. She is perfect and her brothers daddy and I are absolutely smittened with her.
Samuel Michael, born on 3/10 at 39w6d. Our little porkchop was 9lbs7oz and 21in and I'm thankful that he came fashionably early or I would have had a 10 pounder.
Had manageable contractions all of Tuesday night but they fizzled on Wednesday. Picked back up early Thursday morning, though they were all over the place. We called my in laws to come pick up our daughter and packed her up, I felt like labor might actually progress this time. I walked 3 miles up and down our driveway to try to get the contractions to regulate but they never did.
I forced myself to eat lunch and by 2pm the contractions were BRUTAL but 11 minutes apart. I felt silly calling the hospital but they told me to come in anyway since I was a second time mom and things could go quickly. By the time I got to the hospital at 2:30pm I was shaking so hard I couldn't sign the intake forms and -surprise!- was at 7cm and in transition. They rushed the epidural as fast as they could and I got it at 8cm, which thankfully slower things down so I could catch my breath. My water broke at 5 and there was meconium so they called pediatrics to check out baby just in case. Started pushing at 5:20 and he was born at 5:25, three huge pushes and he was out. Minimal tears, though I did push out the catheter as well so my bladder's been slow to recover.
Crazy labor but much much easier post-partum experience. Thanks to his 9lbs8oz sister for paving the way!
He's a moose and a dream baby. Eats and sleeps, no fuss no muss! Him and his big sister Elena look like they could be twins born two years apart! She is madly in love and so are we!
Greyson Kelly 6lbs 7oz 19in long Born c-section March 12th @ 10:34 am 38 wks
We had a c-section scheduled March 18th due having a previous cesarean with DS. Actual due date was March 25.
Woke up at 5:30 with weak contractions that were ten minutes apart. Woke up my husband to get things ready. Living 2 hours away from the hospital I called my doctor to see if we should head that way. He told us to come, sounds like early labor. 20 minutes down the road the contractions were stronger and stayed at ten apart. One hour later we arrived at the hospital (yes my husband was speeding) and the contractions were 2 minutes apart. Contractions were horrible!! Finally started getting prepped for surgery after two hours of monitoring. Surgery went well and we heard the most adorable cry at 10:34 am
Baby girl Norah born 3/15 8#2oz 20in. Successful induction at 41w. Cytotec and then foley bulb sent me from 2cm to 7cm. Epidural placed after that. Pushed for 30 minutes and out she came.
Silas Ryder 7lbs 11oz 19.5in long Born vaginally March 8th @ 4:07 pm 40+5wks
Went to be induced on tiesday March 7th at 5pm at 40+4 due to high blood pressure. I was 1cm dilated so they started me on cervidil at 7pm to help soften the cervix. At 7 am they removed the cervidil and I was only at 2 cm and 75%effaced so they decided to start the pitocin. Which brought on fast and strong contractions that wouldn't stop. At 11am they shut off the pitocin because I was already at 8 cm ad by 12pm I was at 10 cm fully effaced. So they had me start practice pushing. By one the doctor who was there and I was pushing for real. I ended up pushing for almost 3 hours. Silas caused a few minor tears so I'm sore but happy and feeling grateful he's here. I ended up having too much blood loss that they us to give me two blood transfusion and had to stay in the hospital for 4 days. I am Very tired and ready for some sleep !!
Re: March 2016 Birth Announcements
Water broke on Monday 2/29 around 10am, headed right to L&D because of gbs+ and needed to get antibiotics started, labor was stalling all day though, but once it got going it only took 2 good pushes and baby boy was born!
Our baby is healthy and we are feeling very blessed. words cannot describe how in love with my son I am. I can't wait to spend my life being this boys mommy!!
5 pounds 15 ounces
19 inches long
Arrived 3.5 weeks early on 3/3/16 (original due date 3/27) after two days of trying to stop contractions with meds. Baby was just itching to get out!

A few contractions and pushes later, she was out at 9:54pm. I still can't believe it happened so fast! I had no tears and has been a pretty easy recovery. We are so blessed baby is healthy and breastfeeding is going great.

Successful VBAC
39 weeks and 1 day.
Induced due to high blood pressure and protein in urine at doctor's visit on 3/3. Started pitocin at 10am. Requested epidural around 3:30pm at 4cm. Labor progressed rapidly after that. I pushed about a half dozen times and he was out! Welcome to the world!

Born c-section March 12th @ 10:34 am 38 wks
Good luck to the rest of the mommies!!
Baby girl Norah born 3/15 8#2oz 20in. Successful induction at 41w. Cytotec and then foley bulb sent me from 2cm to 7cm. Epidural placed after that. Pushed for 30 minutes and out she came.
Born vaginally March 8th @ 4:07 pm 40+5wks
