March Symptoms

Re: March Symptoms

  • @PugsandKisses yes!!! It's happened twice and both times have been about 30 minutes after dinner. First time was in Walmart and the second time was in lowes. I just started feeling super light headed and dizzy- like I was going to pass out. I had to sit down. I started sweating and got tunnel vision then it seemed like my hearing was going in and out. After sitting for about 10 minutes or so I was strong enough to get up and walk but extremely exhausted. All I wanted to do was go lay down. I don't know why it happened or what caused it.

  • @PugsandKisses I'm no expert, but I've heard that if you eat too large/heavy of a meal your body can overreact and send too much of your blood to your digestive system to get started on processing the food, which can leave the rest of you in need. Obviously, that effect would be exaggerated in pregnancy, as your blood pressure can already be lower plus you have your LO that needs blood too.

  • At least I am not alone. I know have a killer headache, but I can deal with that. Passing out at Publix whIle ordering cheese is not acceptable.

@PugsandKisses I work with some pregnant nurses and they mentioned a few times that dizziness and weakness like that can be caused by your blood pressure dipping! Then again when my blood pressure gets high I do feel the same and have to sit down. I do feel fine after a few minutes but if you feel rough for a couple of hours you might be best to go speak to your doctor. Also iron deficiency has similar symptoms too, all the blood being pumped into baby might be taking all your iron supply! Best to definitely get it checked though.

  • @PugsandKisses it could also be your iron level. Have your doctor/midwife check your iron next time. I take Floravit (liquid iron) once a day to keep my levels up. It's made for pregnant woman.
  • I am so glad I'm not the only one with leaky boobs... Husband looked pretty nervous when I mentioned that nifty new symptom.
  • My BP normal is on the slightly lower side and I have no had an issue. At one point, with my 1st, it was about 85/40 but I felt normal.

I will have them check my iron out too.

    Thanks everyone.

  • I had RLP the other night so bad that it literally took my breath away and made me cry. I was laying in bed and sat up super fast and felt like my lower stomach was being ripped open! I was in tears and it took me forever to catch my breath and recover. And I think I am going to have an un-medicated labor... we'll see how that goes!
  • I've had dizziness and near-fainting episodes too, which was scary. Was told it was normal and that my BP will be at its lowest during the 2nd trimester. I've been making sure to drink/eat as needed. It does seem to be getting better. My doc said that she would have checked for iron and other nutritional stuff if it hadn't gotten better on its own. It was good to know that it wasn't a surprising symptom for the doc... I hope it gets better for you guys soon as well!
  • I have been having this happen for awhile now. I was told that compression socks would help, and sure enough! I also know the times its most likely to happen and I don't move quickly or do anything super physical at that time i.e. no stairs, jogging, getting up quickly. It's helps a lot.
  • Is anyone else experiencing nosebleeds? I'm a little more congested these days and today I had a full on bloody nose when I was out on my walk this morning. Allergy season isn't helping  :s

@kellyj103 lots of nosebleeds here. I just got over a cold a few days ago, and now my allergies are here with a vengeance. Thankfully all my nosebleeds have been short and not too terrible, but they always come on at the worst times!
  • I have also had near fainting episodes and dizziness. For me, it ended up being dehydration. I've been drinking 62 oz of water a day and they said that wasn't enough and to try doubling it. I haven't had any dizziness since, but I have to pee all the time!
  • I have no idea if this is a pregnancy symptom but my eyes are super watery and it seems related to the congestion. I've never had issues with allergies but maybe I'm more sensitive to things now? My skin seems more sensitive to products too. Annoying!!

  • @Kellyj103 i have had a bloody nose the last two mornings. they dont last two long, but caused me to be late for work. ha
  • I have the pregnancy congestion + a head cold I think I caught from my first graders. This is miserable! Lol
  • I thankfully haven't had nosebleeds this pregnancy (yet), but with DS I had them all the time... Including upon the conclusion of my matron of honor speech at my best friends wedding. Sitting at the head table in front of 200ish people, with only cloth napkins around. Lovely.

  • I also have the leaky boobs.  This happened after having sex, my husband looked down and said, "your boobs leaking btw".  LOL
  • Definitely gotten nosebleeds including right before leading a group meeting that was bad timing .... I generally put an ice pack on my nose for a while... fun fun!
  • Any one else getting acne cysts?! I never had acne like this as a teenager and don't know what to do with it. It is just bumps that don't really come to a head

  • @Lindsayleigh1989 I started getting that last year out of nowhere. Mine was along my jawline and some on my chin. I read that it's due to sugar intake... I cut my sugar intake (just a little bit) and it cleared up. I think different parts of your face means different things. Or it could just be a pregnancy thing.
  • @Lindsayleigh1989 Everywhere. And I feel like none of my tried and true methods to deal with them are safe for pregnancy. Normally I would douse myself in a salicylic peel and move on, but there's conflicting evidence on safety.
  • @Lindsayleigh1989 I have been getting them on my cheeks and forehead.. I bought this biore charcoal cleanser that is safe to use that has been helping! But ow, when I get them they hurt so bad!
  • Fatigue has come back with a vengeance... Mama needs a nap
  • @Lindsayleigh1989 I have just been having the occasional normal break out, but DH has been getting acne cysts like crazy in the last month or so. It's like I got to pass along some symptoms.

  • Yes, fatigue has hit hard here too.  I was just writing if off as being sick, but it hasn't gone away, so im thinking maybe it is pregnancy related.  Also, I had no appetite for a while and now the hunger is back like no other. I am so hungry the past couple days, I feel like it consumes me. Must be going through a growth spurt or something...

  • I did a lot of cleaning today and I  carried the vacuum up and down the stairs and I felt pretty sore and crampy afterwards. It's been about 4 hours and my belly is still sore and feels very tight and my lower back hurts. Should I be worried? No bleeding or anything.... I think I just overdid it. Anyone else experience this? Wahhhh, it hurts.
  • Holy discharge! And I would love to be able to breath out of nose sometime soon.

I wouldnt be worried, Ive been feeling like this after work for the past couple months and I tell my OB and he doesnt seem to be concerned at all.  He says its just the way my body is taking it this time (this is my third so things are more stretched out apparently.)  The pain is so bad that I feel like I need to use a wheelchair by the time im done working sometimes (and I have a high pain tolerance).   The pain I get is just as you described, its tight and sore and I feel a lot of lower pressure in my pelvis, and my lower back is very stiff and sore.  Just another lovely part of pregnancy. :)

    Oh thank you for this!
  • @sayerhart I have the same thing when I over do stuff too. We are renovating our house right now and in the mornings I feel good enough to help, but after I do anything for too long my stomach gets hard and achy. It's sore like I just did 1000 sit ups! But my CNM said that its just the muscles getting tight from stretching all day and that I just need to take it easy when I start feeling this way. I wouldn't worry, but definitely mention it at your next appointment
  • Missed my diclegis last night and have thrown up all day today. Yay. I have two classes to teach today, and am hoping I can make it through the 6 hours without throwing up on students.
  • Is it way too early for Braxton Hicks? I know I'm dehydrated because I was on a 6 hour flight today and didn't drink nearly enough, so that could be exacerbating it. It's nothing too severe...maybe 10 seconds of feeling my uterus get tight and heavy, then it goes away. Doesn't hurt at all. I talked to my sister about it and she said she had them starting fairly early too, but I haven't seen it mentioned here at all (though I've been on vacation so I may have missed it).

Definitely not too early!! My apps are telling me it's common for them to start around now. I'm 23 weeks.
  • @sboston06 I think I had one wake me up early this morning. It was just like you described. I'll be 23 weeks on Tuesday.
  • @sboston06 I've had a few too, mostly when I've been really active and not getting enough fluids and it's just like you described, a tight sensation but not painful.
  • @Lindsayleigh1989 I've had them a few times now - actually grew two overnight last night. I put neosporin on them which seems to help somewhat in relieving the pain until they go away on their own.

Thanks how long did they take to go away for you?
