I've been eating there a few times a month still. It's the only fast food I eat. My state wasn't one of the ones effected.. if it was I probably would have stayed away.
They do have high sodium for some items but I can get a very healthy quick lunch there that will actually fill me up.
Yup, i did it. Got my free burrito today for lunch. Its been at least a year since i last had it, and i gorgot how good it is! I definitely ate too much snd too fast. Oops!
Ooh, did not know about Starbucks... I'm not from one of the affected states, but I had that sandwich several times. It was pretty delicious. It was just the one panini, right? Crossing my fingers, here.
They mailed me a free coupon so I'll probably swing by to grab my free burrito at some point, and then go back to never eating at Chipotle.
I don't have any real worries about food contamination (it's a dice roll no matter what you do -- small local indie place, big national chain, supermarket ingredients, farmers' market ingredients, stuff out of your own home garden; nothing's entirely risk free), it's just that there are other things I like better. As far as fast-food options go, though, Chipotle is one of the few I can occasionally stand.
I've never eaten at Chipotle bc there's never been one close to me. I will tell you though that I've switched to Dunkin Donuts for coffee and/or breakfast sandwiches due to Starbucks problems the last few months. I'm one of those people that hears the word lice and starts itching so I couldn't bring myself to eat at Chipotle (or Starbucks) now.
I'm also one of those people, and now I'm terrified to google the Starbucks problem for that very reason. Not my Starbucks...
I have eaten there since, but not at every Chipotle and not very often. My county has a website that you can check the status of restaurant warnings/inspections, etc. and I tend to check that far more often since becoming pregnant-- and since I now have a toddler who is eating the food too rather than eating things I bring from home for him. Lately, I've been getting lots of coupons from them...which honestly makes me more suspicious. I think I'll be steering clear for a little while.
@sillyfox We have Freebirds in Kansas as well. My husband loves it, but I don't get the hype. From what I've seen, most people either like Chipotle or Freebirds, but not usually both.

I'll eat Chipotle... but the closest one to me is a couple of blocks from a Freebirds which I think is better, so I never bother! They are really very similar though.

I love me some Chipotle.
Or Freebirds! Is that only a Texas thing? Because I like it way better than Chipotle, personally! Yum.
