I'm late to the name conversation but thought I'd throw in my 2 cents because I went through this with my daughter. We picked out our names before I was even pregnant and as soon as we knew she was a girl, we knew her name would be Olive. We didn't bother keeping it a secret so everyone called her that, everything at her shower had her name on it, etc. It seemed like other people were more comfortable with the name than I was and late in the pregnancy I started panicking thinking I might like other names better. We went with our original choice but it was months before I was consistently calling her by her name and not just calling her "baby". I do love it though. I think it's just a bit hard to settle on one when it seems so important and so final. But it's not that important, really! It's just a name and likely any name that's even on your list of considerations would be one you and your kid could happily live with.
  • Commenting on the names:
I have known my little boy's name since before I was pregnant.  When I got pregnant, before I know if baby was a boy or a girl I struggled to pick out a girl name.  I would pick one, then question it and start looking again.  That never happened with my boy name.  Just this past weekend, I started thinking, hmmmm...I really like the name ___ for a boy, what middle name would I put with it?  I think it might be because last week I ordered my first personalized item for my little one.  It's very strange the way the brain works.

  • I feel this is appropriate as we approach 3rd tri.
"I used to walk, Now I waddle...."
This is on my symptom list for today's check in.
  • Oh no!  The penguin waddle.  I really try to focus to make sure I'm not waddling yet.  But it's coming, I can feel it!

My biggest issue these days is getting my shoes on.  I am wondering if my principal would be opposed to me wearing slippers.........
  • I have a hate/hate relationship with bras ATM
I'm with you!! I think the last time I wore a bra that WASNT either a sports bra or built into my tank top was on my honeymoon? I've never liked bras ever since I actually needed to start wearing one (don't judge, junior year of hs.... lol), and I'm actually ok with the fact that I CAN get away with tank top shelf bras (but with a pad or something to hide the nips). My sister was telling me that when she was pregnant with my niece, she could make it maybe 3-4 hours before the bra came off, regardless of where she was lol.

Bras and pants are the same in our house. Usually the last thing on in the morning but the first things off when I get home. :)

I've had to change how I tie my shoes the past few days because I just can't quite bend like I used to.  Even better, I've been wearing slip-ons for the past few weeks (birkenstocks at that which are super comfy, yay for casual attire at work).  No need to bend down to tie anything!  Woo!

my pregnancy boobs are currently a size F... bra is the FIRST thing off when I walk in the door... i feel suffocated most of the day because of them!!

  • I'm also feelin' the bra pain. But my boobs are too big to be comfortable without one either, even at home. Trying to justify the expense of going out and buying one that fits properly, but I know it'll fit for like 5 minutes before my body changes size again. Argh.
  • @sdLindenberg- JUNIOR YEAR OF HS?!? Oh my word. I went from nothing to a full B in like two weeks when I was in sixth grade *cry*

@Emztron500- totally at that point too. I change into jammies and then just tuck my shirt up under the girls. Uncomfortable, but better than a bra :-/
  • My bras were killing me so I got this to try and I love it!  So comfy and room to expand.

  • @MamaNicoleof3 I was competitively figure skating from about 10 years old through senior year of hs, practicing 7 days a week, 4 hours (minimum) a day. Didn't get my period until Christmas break that same year lol. Late bloomer all around!! I had to wear Old Navy overalls or Gap Kids jeans with the elastic cinches in them because I couldn't find pants that were long enough, but tiny enough to fit my waist at the time. Then I got my period, quit skating, grew boobs and finally fit in normal pants! haha

  • I haven't worn a bra since finding out I was pregnant. My boobs were super sore early on. Best thing ever.
  • @Sgoldberg247 and @Kballew10

My mom and dad were visiting last week.  I had to put my shoes on to go out to dinner and my dad laughed so hard he snorted as he watched me struggle into my shoes.

With my ballet flat slip ons, my feet swell up so bad and look like balloons attached to my ankles.  It's awesome, lol.

I tried to go shoe shopping this weekend.  It did not go well.  My feet looked monstrous compared to the shoes I was trying on.  Even when I went up a size, they were still no where near fitting!

    That makes perfect sense then!!
  • I'll jump on the hating bras team!

Pre-pregnancy they were a D (and have been that way since 8th grade...). With a bit of an eating disorder in my late teens, they weren't as perky from gaining and losing weight, so underwires are my go to since forever.

However, I have NO idea what size I am now. But I found these bras by Bali that don't have underwire and can hold the girls up without me immediately needing to rip them off.  They come in sizes S-XL.  I'm slowly outgrowing the large.  And I don't want to talk about it.

Im not sure who said it above but they aren't exactly comfortable in a bra or out of a bra.  Weirdest thing, so these wireless bras have been a lifesaver.  I call them my granny bras.  they aren't cute but they get the job done.

Oh oh and I was purposely wearing a large coat at work (granted, I was cold) so I could unhook the wire bras in early pregnancy and no one could tell.

And it looks like they have larger sizes than XL!
I bought one of mine from Target and the other from Stein Mart.  I'm sure you could get it on Amazon too. I just need to try bras on before I buy.
  • But as a precaution - if you get cold, it's pretty obvious.  They aren't thin thin, but don't have padding to conceal hard nips!

    I second this. Link me!

Also, "And I don't want to talk about it" made me laugh. That's exactly what I told my husband when I gave up the Bella band and came home with my first bag of real maternity pants.

On the boobs/bra thing: I am clearly in the minority here, but I LOVE my pregnancy boobs and don't mind wearing (comfortable) bras. It's because I finally have actual, legit boobs!!! Was a barely-there A until after college because of decades of gymnastics, ballet, and running, and "grew" to a 32B after I stopped the athletics. Now, I'm hella thrilled with my 34C. Gimme the BOOBS!

However, I totally agree with how hard it is to put on shoes. Thank goodness it's flip flop season! Oof.

Those look amazeballs (as I give my ridiculous VS wire free bra the evil eye)
  • Also, we got the EOBs from when H hurt his back and had an MRI. Between that, three ultrasounds for me (one for baby and two to check my legs for clots), we met our deductible on February 12. Man alive.

I'm with you on the boobs!  Mine actually shrunk back down after I weaned so it's nice that I don't need to push everything up now.  :)

This looks really comfy but it sounds like the XL would be a stretch for me D:

I might order it anyway and just squeeze. The only bra that's fitting me right now is a size 38G but it's underwired and lacy and just not what I want to wear 24/7.

Being pregnant while breastfeeding and gaining weight like it's my job (and being busty to start with) is making life ridiculous.
  • @ahernandez16 I did a semester abroad when I was in college and my roommate was someone I didn't know.  I somehow got her name wrong and was calling her the wrong name for at least 2 or 3 weeks before someone asked me who I was talking about and they corrected me.  The roommate had been making fun of me for it apparently (the person who corrected me didn't know that) and I was really hurt.  I had just met her and somehow heard her name wrong (and I was totally wrong--I don't remember exactly now but they were really different names like Lisa and Rachel or something) and despite me calling her the wrong name she never directed me.  I felt incredibly small and stupid and hurt.  So if I were your coworker, I would want you to just say "hey, that's not my name, it's actually xyz".

  • I'm so jealous of you ladies with actual boobs!  I've always been a not even full A cup (all genetics, my mom is the same way) and have been really stoked to actually be filling out my bras now.  Personally, I'm loving the pregnancy boobage!
  • I'm hating bras too.  Before I got pregnant I was a DD.  I have no idea what I am now, but I need to get some new ones because they are super uncomfortable.

  • OMG I am starving right now.  And I want some chocolate.  Holy cow.  I'm like raiding my classroom to see if there's anything I stashed and forgot about.  Went to three other teachers' rooms with no luck.  I feel like I'm going to cry.
