@PBear93 ugh. I'm sorry that happened to you! That's awful. She was referring to me as Kim to clients on the phone "Kim will call you back" etc and hadn't actually called for me by Kim so I felt weird eavesdropping and correcting her, lol. I'm assuming she probably had an old colleague named Kim or something.
I have horrible social anxiety so I truthfully felt anxious about even correcting her but I definitely wouldn't have wanted her to feel the way you did because I'd spend the next 50 years of my life being anxious over not correcting her. Luckily a client walked in not too long after she started and asked for me so it got cleared up real quick.
I guess I'm in the minority on bras... I'm a DD and I can't stand NOT wearing one, even while sleeping. Been that way since I first needed one in 6th grade. I was pissed when they made me take it off when I was induced with DD and I asked constantly after my CS when I could put it back on. Bleh!

I totally wore a sports bra all through birth with my DD. Dr was pissed when he noticed! But I already had too much shit in me (IVs, epidural) to really get it off. I guess it's a big problem if you need a c section so they're supposed to make you take it off if you get pitocin or an epidural but someone forgot to tell me that. I'm with you on wanting a bra all the time.
Bras: I've been a DD since HS and found out a few years ago that I am allergic to polyfoam padding which rules out 95% of padded bras. I would pay good money to be able to wear a bra that hides my cold nips and has a good underwire support.
Also, I think as long as your bra has no metal, they can't really make you take it off for sugery. I had to have 3 lithotripsy after DS2 was born and had to wear a bra because I was breastfeeding. They said as long as it had no metal,it was fine
WOW! Y'all were busy today! Let's see if I'm caught up:
- Names are special, we aren't telling ours for the sole purpose of silencing the peanut gallery. - Hey Kim! I mean @ahernandez16, I hope she figures it out soon otherwise I CAN'T WAIT for that thread to be posted! - YAY FOR GREAT CERVIX MEASUREMENTS! @huskerfanz - I'm sorry about your MIL @millermama13, I seriously hope she scales her behavior back and doesn't drive you to dream about drinking. - I too am part of the bigboobbrigade and cannot safely enjoy the leisurely life of free-swinging mammaries. - COOOOOOOOKIE CAKE!!!! - If you're having a c-section, it's more about being able to get to your heart if you code, and your bra would be in the way for that. If you're birthing vaginally, then they're being rude. If you want to leave your bra on, then leave it on. I want to do skin to skin, so I imagine I'll be completely naked at some point of the process.
1. You guys are awesome for having names! H is convinced he will "know" when he hears the right one...Umm fack no I've given a ton of amazing names! 2. Bras suck 3. I need a cookie cake and a grilled cheese 4. I had an entire chipotle bowl and chips for lunch and got frozen salted carmel custard. It was amazing
I'm definitely part of the "I hate bras" club. Why are they so uncomfortable?! I only wear one as long as I have to...the minute I'm home it's a free-for-all.
Why is it that when you know you shouldn't have something, you just want it more? I have my 1 hr glucose test at 8 o'clock tomorrow morning and figured I would limit myself to high protein/low carb snacks tonight, just in case (no medical recommendation to do so but if I fail the test by a few points and have to do the 3 hour one and I don't have GD i'll be really upset, especially since I have a needle phobia). ANY other night I would have no qualms with such snacks but tonight, all I want are potato chips and reeses cups...
@Sgoldberg247 stay strong!!! Maybe just go to sleep early! You'll be so mad at yourself if you don't pass & think you would've if you didn't cave, you got this!!
I called my ob to move my test to earlier since I had a 3pm and I eat and drink all the sugar. The nurse was like -- no your good just don't have sugar. My response was "but then how can I eat everything coverts to sugar" she then says well unless you can eat an egg you should change. Ummmm what!!?
you got this @Sgoldberg247 I've heard lime is the best cold !!!! Good luck

Thanks, that's exactly why I told H he isn't allowed to finish his work upstairs, so that i'm not tempted to grab something from the kitchen. My will power tonight is basically at zero. If I can avoid a potential false positive, it's all worth it though (70-80% of 1 hour fails are false positives from what I've read. I really need to get off google).
@WaitingMay14 thanks, I've heard the lime is the best too. My doctor refrigerates them all but when I was there for my 20 week appointment, someone was doing her test and they only had the orange and fruit punch. I'm hoping they are better stocked tomorrow morning!

I had mine done this morning. I had the orange and I thought it tasted like fanta, which I love. I knew I was going to fail the test so I had my "last meal" last night with chocolate ice cream, a moon pie, and chocolate covered marshmallow egg. I passed mine with flying colors. I don't think it matters what you eat before the fast. Good luck!

Ha I remember my sister on her third pregnancy having a big "last meal" before her glucose test after having had insulin dependent GD her first 2 pregnancies. She was sooooooo sick afterwards. Not the best strategy for the actually diabetic. Glad you passed your test!
@Emztron500 thanks! I guess I should have taken it as a good sign that all the "last meal" sugar didn't mess me up but I didn't even think about it like that!
@dennyandlee yay on passing your test! That "last meal" sounds awesome, it'll take a day or two to get my results back so I figured I would have my sugary snacks tomorrow night before knowing one way or another and at least try to be healthy-ish tonight. Again, no medical recommendation to do such, just would rather do it than fail unnecessarily (and worry that it was something I ate the night before that threw it off) and have to get stuck 4x for the 3 hour test.
@Sgoldberg247 Good luck!!! I can't eat after midnight tonight and I'm already mad DH brought me home a piece of chocolate torte last night (think flourless thick delicious chocolate)....at what point today is a reasonable time to stop eating it? Haha

@Sgoldberg247 - Good luck this morning! I took my one hour last week and was right on the border (135 is the cutoff for passing and I was 135) so I am going back for the three hour tomorrow morning. I had the orange and it wasn't terrible at all- it definitely helps to have it chilled.

That sucks, sorry you have to redo it! My office keeps them all in a fridge so they're nice and cold but somehow they ONLY had the fruit punch. Not awful but not something I would willingly drink either...
Glucose tests suck! Good luck to all the moms taking them soon! Sending all the passing wishes. Restricting carbs while pregnant blows. For me, my babies are magical calorie eaters. I can eat whatever I want and not gain weight! (Don't be too jealous, I started very overweight...). Losing that ability blows...

I get my drink to take home since I live 3 minutes from the office. They only had fruit punch the day got mine. Maybe I'll call and see if I can change it out! I've had the orange before and it wasn't bad. Hope you get good results on yours!
@sgoldberg247 I have my glucose test tomorrow morning, and have also decided that today I will abstain as much as possible from super sugary treats. I have a HUGE needle phobia and do not want to take the three hour test! My doctor sent the orange flavor home with me last appointment since I live an hour and ten minutes from the clinic, so I will drink it on the drive in tomorrow.

Good luck! My office is apparently super lawsuit-phobic and won't let you out of their sight once you've drank the sugary crap. I also am super needle phobic (I almost passed out after the draw today....again) so I'm sitting here hoping my results come back in normal range so they don't need to do the 4 blood draw nonsense.
I am somehow stuck in a box.. and I'm super late to the game. I wanted to share a bra I got yesterday at Target that is AMAZING. No underwire but still a little padding..
Also, I had my glucose and hemoglobin test yesterday, the sugar drink wasn't anywhere close to as awful as I thought-- actually pretty good! On the hemoglobin I needed to score above 11.5 and I got 11.4 are you freaking kidding me. Luckily I think my DR said that was ok!

Also, I really love peeing my pants when I sneeze....said no one ever, especially an already uncomfortable preggo.
