Because I know I am not supposed to have it, all I want is milk! I actually just stole 2 Tru Moo cartons from the lunch cart and am debating chugging them both. I also have left over pasta with spinach and marinara.
Something healthy is on the menu today I assume. Working at home today (thank goodness, don't think I could've taken getting the lab results from my 1 hour glucose test without a nervous breakdown) and DH just went to the store to get me a 'healthy' lunch. And this trend shall continue at least until next Tuesday afternoon.
I'm having Mac and cheese. Ugh. I've been doing so well with my eating but this week, I just can't help myself. I'm constantly starving and want quick food so I resort to eating crap. I hope this doesn't last the remainder of my pregnancy.
Healthy was a correct assumption. Peanut butter sandwich on whole grain bread, carrot sticks, and snap peas. Wasn't bad... Just obviously would have rather eaten something else. Stupid glucose screening.
Garden vegetable soup, spinach and beet salad and cantaloupe. I had three eggs and bacon and almonds for breakfast and usually have big rib eye steak for dinner so I didn't feel the need to have more protein for lunch.
I lied. I went to Target on lunch (that's how/when I grocery shop between working full time and a toddler at home) and then hit the In & Out drive through on the way back to the office. Burger, fries, and chocolate shake. So much for "healthy choice"! But I'm sure there is totally protein in the burger and calcium in the shake ... right?
Hahaha... Yes! This is me.
I packed a salad with a chicken burger on top with Greek yogurt dressing. But I had to run out for blood work during lunch so I stopped at McDonald's instead. Chicken wrap and fries with honey mustard. My only regret is that I didn't get a milkshake. I couldn't bring myself to order it. It seemed like it was going too far.
@Charissadeats its a mint milkshake McDonalds only sells during March for St. Patrick's Day. I'm randomly going to be in the suburbs today so I'm definitely stopping by the drive thru for one even though it's freezing here!
@bltbear82 Wait wait wait they sell it all through March? Not just on St. Patrick's Day? I've been trying to get a Shamrock Shake for yearrrrrrssssss but they are always sold out by the time I get there!!

@amberraysofdawn Yes they start selling them the 1st of March until the end of the month!
Thank ladies, now I want a Shamrock shake and will probably end up with one tonight because there is a McDonalds literally a minute's drive from my apartment!

@kp90 I think we have most of the popular stuff, like Big Mac, McNuggets, McChicken etc. We also might have other stuff which you won't get - like we have a Boerie burger - which is Boerewors patties - I am not mad keen on it, but I think (as the name will tell you) that it's unique to us.
We only got Burger King about a year ago though and Pizza Hut.
@charissadeats Crazy how food varies even at chain restaurants based on where you live. Now I'm craving fast food -_-
I just had this conversation with one of my students as he went on and on about wanting to find a McD's that still sells pizza.
And another student detailed his plans to create a s'more croissant filled with marshmallow Fluff and chocolate that you could order "slightly burnt". I had to ask him to stop because I could not concentrate on getting his BP. These kids are not helping with my cravings/healthy lifestyle!
What I ate today: salmon wrapped in roasted seaweed snacks. I just spoon some salmon into each piece of seaweed and eat it piece by piece. Spinach salad with a small amount of curried chickpeas.
What I was totally craving instead of that: Butter Chicken with basmati rice.
Bringing this on back because I am super proud of my lunch. Plain Greek yogurt, cut up veggies, pita chips and I am going to drink that entire bottle of water, plus refill it at least twice. And, because it is an early dismissal day, I actually know for a fact I will eat everything here!

Ha ha, I only post in food threads when I like what I ate as well. When I'm a lazy bum, I avoid tracking anything I eat. I'm really struggling on the water front. I just know water = more pee. And I feel like I'm having to go far too often.
This morning I had an early appointment so had 2 buckwheat pancakes (I make them in big batches them freeze) and a side of strawberries and banana and water. Just a tiny bit of pure maple syrup.
Then about 2 hours later I ate donuts (do nut holes and a bear claw) with water to drink, I would have gotten OJ but if I am drinking OJ I *need* it to be super ice cold. No exceptions. The OJ there was not so I didn't get it.
Then for lunch I had quesadillas (whole wheat tortilla, pinto beans mashed, bit of cheese, lots of raw onion, and guac for the filling) with a little bit of decaf iced tea and more water.
Snack was almond butter, banana, and a few chocolate chips mixed together and you guessed it - water.
Dinner was cooked sushi, miso soup, and salmon soba with water. Dessert was watermelon.
Oh no - what is brownie brittle and is it as delicious as it sounds? @laurenmdrn16 (Btw - I do apologise for always asking what stuff is - I know I can google it, but an actual description is so much better/more real than a googled version).

Oh it is awesome! Basically it is the crispy pieces you get from the bottom of the pan after you make brownies. It is super chocolately, but instead of dense and moist, it is crispy and crunchy like a cookie. The pieces kind of melt in your mouth and are like chocolate heaven. Find THAT in a Google description! I feel like sending you a bag so you can experience the joy too.

See, that is what I call a description! YUM!! I want that now. One day when I'm big I'll visit the States - I'll start making a list of all the stuff I am gonna nom. Thanks
Spinach, carrot and beet salad with poppy seed/olive oil dressing. Plus a piping hot bowl of coconut curry soup with kale and navy beans. I hadn't tried that soup before and it was amazing. I'm a sucker for anything with coconut milk and curry though.
