Re: How YOU doin'? (Symptoms Thread -March)

  • I'm doing so much better than I was before. I feel like each day a little layer of symptom-clouds is peeled back and a little more pregnancy-sunshine is peeking through. I was in such a fatigue/nausea/food aversion fog for the past few weeks and now at week 11 things are starting to look up!

New symptoms include headaches and dizziness - neither of which are too bad!

  • I'm doing much better! Week 4-11 were pure torture... I could barely function.
Now at week 13,  the nausea only comes in a small wave once or twice a day but the headaches have started!
  • Currently "eating the world". Ugh. Once or twice a week I just have this incurable hunger. And then I hate myself come dinner time. :(

However, I've been able to stay up until 10 pm a little bit more often. I've even seen a couple of 10:30s. It's been a while since that's happened!

  • 10 weeks this week! Huge appetite, constipation (but I've been able to tame the gassiness and uncomfortable bloating, I figured out that apples were a major culprit for me!), the fatigue seems to be easing off today but I'm not totally sure, it might come back full force tomorrow. I still have lots of food aversions especially to vegetables (but I can eat raw carrots most of the time and an occasional side salad though it's hard).
  • At almost 12 weeks I am feeling pretty good. I've been on Diclegis for going on 3 weeks and it's been a lifesaver. For the first 5 weeks I was throwing up 5-7x a day and lost 6 pounds in 3 weeks! I'm still super tired and emotional. And now I'm HUNGRY. All the time. Ah!

  • Nausea is starting to go away! I'm still really tired and cannot make it past 9:30pm before getting into bed during the week.
  • The exhaustion isn't so bad anymore -@reesaXden I feel the same, weeks 4-11 I would get home and literally felt like I couldn't lift a finger! Food aversions have eased up. My heartburn is back with a vengeance (although that could be attributed to stress) and my constipation too- is it possible to have built up a tolerance to Activia yogurt?!
  • Nausea is on and off, but is occurring less and less often, which is good. I'm still super tired, but have been having trouble sleeping at night too! Although, someone recommended tart cherry juice at night to solve that, and I have to say, it's really helped me the past couple of nights. I mix it with a little lime-flavored seltzer water or ginger ale and it's like a nice little evening mocktail that puts me to sleep!!! Food aversions are still quite strong too. :(

  • Haven't gotten sick in the past 2 days. My OB told me to stop my prenatals on Monday and she thinks that'll do the trick. She said it's too late at this point for folic acid to make a difference anyway when it comes to spinal bifida.  I lost 7 lbs in the 1st tri so she just wants me keeping everything down.

  • 13, maybe 14 weeks if my midwife decides to change my due dates after my IPS scan and the nausea and vomiting are totally gone, energy level is pretty much back but the heartburn hast started already!!!  With my first this didn't happen until much, much later.
  • Ok, so I'm still having gagging and puking fits every other day about, but other than that I feel much much better overall. At week 13, I'm hoping these will end soon. They are definitely not as intense as before. More energy.. but my after meal tummy bloat is insane. I can't eat too much at once or I'm painfully full and bloated for hours. I have been eating normally and mostly healthy but have not been able to eat full meals. Also I burp all the time!

  • Compared to the last 4 days I feel pretty decent! The flu really knocked me back ugh now I'm so hungry that my stomach feels like it's eating itself so I'm still quite nauseous and coughing up mucus makes me gag constantly BUT I'm back to keeping food down!
  • Feeling good at 12 weeks. Appetite and energy are both returning.

On a side note, I think I'm getting colostrum coming in already. Or my milk came back. My milk had only dried up 2 months before BFP, so I'm not sure if that's to do with it, but I'm waking up with dried colostrum/milk on my nipples.

  • Still nauseous at 13 weeks, 6 days. Yesterday I got it really bad and the minute I felt like I could make the 45 minute drive home, I left. Then I had to work from home. At least I was in my bed. I called the doc to get more Diclegis and I'm picking it up on my way home today. I just had an appointment on Monday and didn't get it refilled because I felt OK for a couple days and thought that meant my nausea was going away. Nope, I was wrong.

  • 13w6d and still nauseous too! Couldn't keep lunch down yesterday or even water this morning. With DS I'm pretty sure the morning sickness was over by 16 weeks. Hoping the nausea will finally go away because this is brutal.
  • I'm 14 weeks and the nausea is getting better but for the last two days I have had random moments of sharp raking pain that feels like there is a little alien clawing the inside of my uterus. I guess it's normal but not at all pleasant.  Makes it pretty hard to concentrate at work.
  • Ugh - so sad to hear so many ladies are still struggling with MS. Hopefully second tri will be easier on us.

My lower back has been hurting a lot this week, it's like there is built up tension or something but I cannot release it. Also, if I eat anything after about 7:30pm, I wake up in the night with bad heartburn. At least I think it's heartburn, it feels like I have a lump in my throat and I need to burp. Gross.

  • Heart burn and acid reflux was horrible yesterday.   I feel like it is way to soon for that also.  Still have to get my daily nap in or I am a bear!

  • Awful. Just plain awful. All day nauseous, throwing up at night, in bed by 7:30, so drained and tired. But I'll only be 10w tomorrow, so it makes sense. I'm usually sick until around week 15. :/

However, I've been super impressed with how wonderful my DH has been about stepping up and helping out.

  • 10 weeks and feeling good. Nausea seems to be going away a bit although I have been taking some b6 for about a week. Huge appetite though. This kid is going to be a foodie for sure
  • I feel for all you ladies still struggling with MS :( I've got it bad too at 10w6d. After an ER trip for dehydration Sunday they put me on 4 days of phenergan then back to zofran. I thought I was feeling better for a few days so I tried spacing my zofran out, and then I starting throwing up and couldn't stop! Hoping it eases up for me soon. I didn't have sickness at all with my first so this is all new to me!
  • I have always eaten healthy.... The thought, sight or mention of vegetables makes me sick!  I feel like my body is rotting!  Even meat is disgusting!  I have been living off of pizza and Mac n Cheese!  I'm dying this is torture!
  • Well I would have to say week 11 is kicking my ass. I had to stay home from work today because the smell of most food makes me dry heave. I stayed at work all day yesterday and was constantly scared of puking in the halls. I can't call in again tomorrow so I hope it gets better. My sickness was getting better week by week until yesterday and now it's back with a vengeance.
  • @nativetexan512 -- I have that lump in my throat feeling and have to burp all the time too. I had it with my son as well. My ob told me then that it was a kind of heartburn. I imagine it's the same now. It's kind of gross, but mostly manageable.
  •  I either feel fine and full of energy, or I am suddenly dry heaving in the middle of a meal I was just enjoying two bites earlier.  Or right in the middle of a lovely day, I burst into tears and can't stop for several minutes.  Then I'm done and I'm fine!

Oh also, the titty pain! Oh, the titty pain.  Sharp pain radiating from my right nipple woke me up several times through the night.

    I'm 10 weeks, btw
  • @nativetexan512 I had that with DS, tums and Zantac helped get rid of it.
  • Remember when I said I was feeling much better?! Yeah, well that's out the window.  I'm with @618mom22boys and suffering from severe acid reflux. It's so bad I have to sleep in a recliner and it's even causing me to puke. I'm on meds for it now and hoping it starts to kick in soon... This pain is fierce.
  • I forgot about the constant nighttime peeing. Like, every other hour. So annoying!

  • Doing better. Although today and on Valentines weekend, I experienced very painful upper back pain, like a pinched nerve. Now my arms feel a little numb. Im thinking I  should call or email my doctor. Not sure what else to do. Other than that, all is well.
  • Blarg!  I'm so hungry, but have super nausea today.  I can eat a couple bits every 10 minutes or so, then I do ok, but I just want to eat my meal.  My hashbrowns are cold because I'm having to eat them so slowly :( Also can't handle the cold eggs, so much for protein lol...  Also RLP and hips are constantly hurting since last night.  I can't sleep on my side right now cause they're really bugging me.
  • The night-time peeing is down to only two to three times, so that's a plus. I'm afraid to jinx myself, but I'm feeling slightly less exhaustion overall. It's the worst in the afternoon- but it's also likely because I work two jobs most days, and it makes the days crazy long. So after about 8 hours of working I'm pooped, ready for a nap, but still have another 2 or 3 hours to go.
Speaking of pooped- I feel like the constipation has been easing up just a little. Thank GOD.

  • I'm 11weeks 1 day and just puked up my dinner. The nausea vomiting and fatigue are starting to take it's toll. Is it trimester two yet. Just waiting for the magical day when this lifts and eating potato chips and baked goods until then. Ughhhhh hurry up
  • The morning sickness has eased up quite a bit, yay! And, no more headaches. However, RLP is killing my hips; I can't wait to see my chiro on Tuesday.

  • 13 weeks and change and feeling worse than ever :( Nausea, headaches, fatigue :( My husband is like "Don't worry, when your body realizes how far along you are it'll start to feel better." Uh, thanks husband? Not sure it works like that lol.

So here's a new one: I finally threw up today! At work. I had nausea/queasiness off and on since the beginning, but just a little bit, and didn't puke until today. It was awful, and all of my coworkers knew what was going on, but I had to push through the rest of my 9 hour shift anyway. Boo.

  • Has anyone had the dizziness, or super clutzo happening?? If I'm not dropping something, I am running into something. My legs and hips are going to start looking like I am severely beaten. I was a bit of a clutz in general in life- but this is ridiculous already.
And for once, after being so exhausted, I finally slept through a whole night- no bathroom, no movement. I woke up exactly how I fell asleep and I felt great- other than my whole right leg was numb ! I do suffer a bit of sciatic from time to time but have massage therapy to help with it.
