  • Congrats @RiverSong15 !

My chart is looking wonky. My cervix is unreachable today and I'm crampy.
  • @GhanimaAtreides - I want (and DH agrees) Italian names for our children. I am Italian, and I feel nearly as Italian as Canadian - but my name is English and my last name doesn't signal my heritage (didn't before I was married either). All my nieces and nephews have Italian names - though only 1 is difficult to pronounce for people who don't speak Italian - and I love it! We have only been able to agree on female names though - we have one male name that we kind of like and one male name that we agree on but it doesn't fit the Italian restriction (my father's name). We might go with it regardless - I wouldn't want the child to feel left out of the theme (we don't like the Italian version of the name), but perhaps the child would feel special having his Nonno's name (yep, dad was American but he was Nonno not Grandpa). That is a bridge we'll cross if/when the time comes.

Re: Names Luckily DH and I have had no trouble agreeing on names. We have had some trouble with boy's names in general; neither of us wants anything aggressive sounding. We picked my grandmother's name as a middle for a girl - it's actually one of his top picks anyhow because of his favourite Tom Waits song. My middle name for a boy was a hard sell, but in the end, we agreed that a small compromise on a bit of a weird middle name (that means everything to me) was OK given childbirth and whatnot.

  • @reneeannemm My DS has a weird middlename and we love it! It was actually DH's idea and came from a sign we used to see when we were commuting to and from work together. It was always our "sign" that we were almost home and we loved the symbolism. People have had some funny reactions when they hear it, but they'll get over it
  • @BornReady I absolutely freaking love that.

  • @RiverSong15 ahh!! Congrats. Fx more of us can make it over to Nov with you. Me fertile window is active based on recent charting. No temp spike or positive OPK today.... But hopefully this week! That would get me in November by the skin of my teeth. Wishful thinking!!! But it's keeping me going.
