I can't take you serious if you end your opinion with "sorry not sorry". Might as well start with " I'm not racist but..." Or "no offence...". You are just trying to make yourself sound better for an opinion you think someone will get mad at.
I won't be letting my child(ren) into the same room as my cousin's kids until my progeny are fully vaccinated. Sorry not sorry (do we have a dedicated sarcasm font yet?)
I have like 30 wondfo pregnancy tests in my bathroom drawer, and since this is pretty much our last shot for another child, I'm peeing on every one of those suckers. I hide the tests in my drawer so that DH doesn't think I'm (too) crazy.
I know (from painful experience) that the test only measures HCG, doesn't impact anything, doesn't indicate whether HCG levels are growing, and that the test can come back positive even while you're having a miscarriage..... But those two lines make me happy every time I see them.

@moosette113 - oh man, are your cousin's kids speshul unvaccinated sneauxflaykes?
I seriously side eye parents who choose not to vaccinate their children based on pseudo science about scary bad for you vaccines. If you'd ever had one of those diseases they vaccinate for you'd sing a different tune!
*I do understand why some can't vaccinate due to legitimate medical reasons *

We ordered from our favorite sushi place on Tuesday, BUT I didn't order any raw sushi. In fact, I actually ordered Steak Hibachi with a broccoli tempura roll (it still counts as a veggie right?) but I was saddened when the food arrived and I suddenly felt kind of repulsed by it.
I guess this isn't really so much of a confession as me being annoyed that the worst thing ever has happened. I love all food equally, and now some of it just seems down right gross.
Except that broccoli tempura roll. That was amazing.

@missteacherlady16 We ordered sushi a few nights ago and it was amazing. I only ordered cooked sushi which definitely hit the spot even though I was missing my tuna mango roll.

I agreed with my DH that we won't tell anyone that we are pregnant until the end of the first trimester but I've already told my sister and have every intention of telling my parents after the first ultrasound. I just really don't want him to tell his mother because I don't want her calling or showing up all the time or dropping things off because she is an exhausting person who smells funny and I don't think first trimester symptoms and her will mix well.
I have a cold on top of just feeling exhausted from 1st tri, so I was so looking forward to a nice hot bath after work yesterday. I got home when LO was sleeping and filled the tub. The minute I went to step in, she woke up. So rather than waste that water, I got her a toy and she played in the bathroom while I took a 10 minute bath. Wasn't the relaxing one I hoped for, but it was something at least.

There are very few medical reasons that someone could not be vaccinated. Usually this applies to someone who is immunocompromised who cannot receive live vaccines. I think sometimes people use this excuse too often.
Edit to add: I just finished doing a vaccine disease state review with my two students where we discussed the contraindications to receiving vaccines, so I felt the need to jump in there.

My MIL is also extremely exhausting (read: completely nuts) and DH told her without asking/coming to me first about it. I was SO MAD. For a few days, she was blowing my phone up and we NEVER talk outside of family functions. It was like, all of a sudden, she thought we were BFFs. I put a stop to that really quickly. Then, last night, we went to our favorite Mexican place for dinner and the owner comes up to our table to congratulate me on my pregnancy. I gave DH the death look. He can't keep his mouth shut for anything.

@JamieK1882 I agree completely. I am aware of one instance in my personal experience that it happened, and the little girl was born with cancer and in for the fight of her life. (Now a completely healthy teenager)
I have a coworker who is trying to get pregnant, but she's a complete moron and does not understand how the human body works. Since I have a kid (she doesn't know I'm pregnant again) she always asks me all kinds of questions about getting pregnant. So she thinks that right after you get your period is the best time to try because "the bleeding means the egg is there".
I've decided to just let her think that, because her husband is a complete asshole and I kind of think they shouldn't reproduce if they can't use Google.
We just booked a private ultrasound for March 24th even though I get my healthcare for free. I'm on the NHS (which is amazing) and scheduling is a nightmare. I am currently waiting for a letter that will inform me when my first appointment is with the midwives. The letter should be here within the next week (I'm 6+4), and the appointment should be for some time between weeks 8-10. Whenever I get to that appointment, I'll be able to make my dating scan appointment, which is meant to be between 11-13 weeks but who knows what availability will be like. We are going to be away for most of April so since we have literally no clue when they'd be able to fit me in for a scan, we booked a private one just in case. We could cancel the private one if we need to, but I really want to be able to tell our families in April and I won't feel comfortable doing that until I have a scan. So now I can look forward to an actual date where I get to see my baby (babies?). I can't wait!

I so wish they would invent those date calculator tests that calculate longer than 3+. My OB practice won't do an u/s until 12 weeks (if I remember correctly), so I would love to be able to track that things are progressing at home.
@PeggyOlsonFTW I read the books later in life (as in, in my 30s) and really enjoyed them. Then I tried to watch the movies and thought they were horrible. I think maybe had I seen them when they were at the height of their popularity I would have enjoyed them more, but I just felt too old. I would re-read the books though again in a heartbeat.
I'm Catholic so I don't eat meat on Fridays during Lent. Nothing at home was sounding appealing to pack for lunch, but then I remembered I have girl scout cookies coming into today. Lunch problem solved!
I already order bellabands and they just came in yesterday. My dress pants are already uncomfortable and I had a wake to go to last night so I already wore one! It was beyond comfortable and I don't remember why I wear regular pants at all!

I think it was a combination of the fact that they were released when I was in high school and college (and after college too, I guess) and they were marketed toward children and I had no time for pleasure reading. I still don't. Maybe when my kids are old enough we'll read them together.
@PeggyOlsonFTW I'm waiting for my kids to get older too so I can read some of the books that were released after I had time for pleasure reading. I really want to read the hunger games also. One day maybe...

You just reminded me I dated a Catholic guy in HS. He took me out for Valentine's dinner and it was a Friday during lent. He had salad and fish (I think) and I had a gigantic steak. I did not feel guilty. Enjoy your lunch

Oh, I blew through the Hunger Games series! I think I read them the summer I was pregnant with DS and wasn't working.
@peggyolsonftw I loved Hunger Games! The movies were ok. Did you ever read the Divergent series? So good, but I have never hated a book ending more than that last book.
While I am so incredibly excited to be pregnant with this baby, I am honestly so disappointed that I won't be able to ride amusement park rides with LO this summer. We bought a season pass to our local amusement park because it's the first year she'll be old enough to ride the KiddieLand rides, and most you ride with a parent. It's seriously gonna be hard to watch DH take her on all the rides : /

I haven't read Divergent. I wanted to, but I watched the movie first for some stupid reason and I did. not. like. it.

Agreed. I loved the first book, liked the second, hated the last.

@MRSCORKER Everything about your story infuriates me for you.
DH is going away on Sunday for an all-day gaming convention, leaving me a lone with DD. To his credit, he repeatedly asked if it's okay that he go and told me that he really appreciates it. I told him that everything would be fine and that I want him to have a good time. But I really want to bank that all-day convention so that I can go out multiple times during the upcoming weeks without him giving me puppy-dog eyes.
