Re: Symptoms Thread: Feb 18th

  • So today I feel fine... In fact I feel great! I'm 7 weeks and I've felt sick on and off last few weeks, today I've sore boobs and heartburn but otherwise all ok.. Feeling good terrifies me as daft as that sounds! Had a loss last year and now I'm a complete nervous googling wreck, scan on Tuesday should hopefully calm me though...!i

  • 5+3. The moodiness hit me really hard over the weekend... Crying, feeling mad at everything, etc. I am very bloated and constipated too. Sore boobs and fatigue continues, but so far no real nausea.

    2nd BFP: June 20, 2016; CP June 22, 2016
    3rd BFP: August 13, 2016!!  Fingers crossed!!

  • I'm 5 weeks and 1 day. Yesterday and day before I had terrible headaches all day and was tired. Today was the nauseas return back from early last week. Tired too. First doc app on Tues, hopefully I'll find out the cause of the headaches!
  • @skyemarie09 another thing might be to go to the eye doctor so they can rule out pregnancy-related optic nerve swelling, if the doctors you saw didn't do that already. Hope you feel better soon!
That seems like a likely culprit! Pregnancy does weird things to nerves.
@skyemarie09 I really hope you feel better soon!
  • I think I'm just a walking symptom lol. 7w1d. Constant nausea for two weeks until I finally started b6 vitamins yesterday. I was a real bizatch when nauseous, and not eating enough at all.
otherwise I'm super grateful for all the others. Tired, old lady sleeping habits (9pm), gas, cramps, and no ability to concentrate...even though my husband thinks I'm making the last one up.
Off to buy seabands and preggo drop pop thingies asap-thanks to you guys for the ideas!!
  • I literally laid in bed all day today! I just have no energy! Im hoping once I hit 12 weeks, I get some energy back! This is definitely the biggest symptom for me by far since the throwing up has calmed a bit!

  • Really just sore boobs and achy back so far...should I be worried I'm not having any other symptoms?? Also, looking to see if anyone else is having odd twinges in their tummies?  They're definitely not cramps, just every now and then I get a few twinges or what feels like poking on different sides of my stomach.  I'm 6 weeks today - not going in for my first appointment til I'm 8 weeks.  However, I had a chemical pregnancy (and thus early miscarriage) at about 6 weeks back in October and of course am freaking out these are signs it's happening again.  Got an immediate positive at barely 4 weeks this time, whereas last time I barely got a positive (so faint!) at 6 weeks so I'm feeling like this is a viable pregnancy and it stuck...at least for the time being! Just looking to see if these twinges are normal?? Or are they a prelude to stronger cramps...   Called my doctor, but playing the waiting game to hear back from her....
  • alysie89 Im gagging just thinking about that baking soda and water combo.

6w5d and Pregnancy cravings just started but they're fairly mild.  Yesterday I really wanted spaghetti Os with meat balls (gross). Im also soooo bloated I cant eat a full meal, I just eat little bits throughout the day bc I feel soo full but still hungry at the same time.

I'm so sorry for your loss in October. I went through the same thing in November so I know the feeling of panic this time around all too well. Symptoms (or lack of) are not a sign of the viability of a pregnancy. Many women never get symptoms, some have tons, some have symptoms that come and go. The twinges can definitely be normal, so can cramps for that matter. There's a lot of growing and moving going on in there so it makes sense that we would feel that to an extent. I've had off and on cramps since my BFP 2 weeks ago as well as some weird pulling sensations. My doctor has assured me that it's normal and no big deal. Take a deep breath and try to relax, maybe I'll even take my own advice and do the same :)

    @MRSCORKER@LGW2015, @br0co1ii, @krzyriverand the boob-stabbing crew--I'm with you there! I haven't had the exploding nips feeling yet, though...can't say I'm jealous! ;)

My cravings were getting pretty crazy between bouts of nausea, but now everything just tastes like dishwater. Thank goodness the nearby soup place had potato cheese soup today, which I could stomach (I'll have all of the potatoes, thank you). Gatorade/G2, apple juice, GinGins and animal crackers are my life. I'm so bored, and so so SO cranky about it, but it's just how it is for the moment! The nausea isn't as bad as it was, but it's more constant, and everything just tastes so bad to me. I did have a great morning on Saturday and made french toast, which really hit the spot but was still mellow enough to handle.

Also, all I want to do is sleep...sleep sleep sleep sleep sleep. Probably because I'm living on flour... :|

ETA: I'm 7w6d, so hoping this phase ends soon and I move onto the healthy fit fabulous glowy part! ;)
  • Hello! 7 weeks/4 days here. When I hit 7 weeks on Thursday the nausea- all day/night/can't stomach anything - kicked in. Per my Dr's recommendation, I started taking B6 on Sat. Yesterday and today I feel so much better- almost normal. Boobs hurt less too. Of course it's great to feel good, but I'm also a bit concerned. Could the b6 work so well so fast? I have read that symptoms fluctuate daily but am looking for some reassurance. Had my first scan last week and and all was perfect. Thanks!
  • I found out Saturday and was like "hey, I have NO symptoms yet".  Then Sunday afternoon a bunch hit at once and haven't left.  Exhaustion, heartburn (which has been happening for about a week but I didn't know why), crampy feeling, hungry every couple hours and can't eat much, gas, and strange dreams.

  • Thanks @MRSCORKER ! So sorry for your loss, too. :(  Weird how something you barely know exists is so missed after it disappears.  We tried to move on quickly, hoping to get "knocked up" the following month, but just got our BFP a 2 weeks ago! Hoping this is the one.

Just got off the phone with the NP - she reassured me twinges are fine.  Even cramping is fine, as long as it doesn't continue to get more and more severe.  Because of my CP in October though (and because I also had a little spotting over the weekend), they're sending me for blood work to see if the HCG levels are increasing as they should. Of course now I have to wait until Thursday after 2 draws to make sure it doubles, so I'll try and take your advice to relax, thought it will be hard!  Sending you good thoughts and advice to take your own advice! ;)
  • Jolly ranchers and sour patch kids work great to curb the nausea too- saved me during many a work meeting with my first two. Also for me sipping very cold iced tea seemed to help.
  • I hit 6 weeks on Friday which is when my symptoms normally start. Nothing happened so I thought I was off the hook. Ha! Nausea hit this morning and I have been absolutely exhausted! Luckily I have never had to deal with the sore boobs through any of my pregnancies but that may be because my boobs are pretty much non existent lol!

  • (Loss mentioned)

Right before I got my BFP yesterday, I've been experiencing cramps that felt just like period cramps if not a little worse, they are going away now add my period was supposed to be ending. I had a loss in January of last year at around 6 weeks, so I'm a little bit nervous this tune around but I know that God had a plan and I really feel like this one is going to be it :-) other than the cramping that I'm still experiencing at 4 wks 3 days, I'm breaking out like a teenager. Also my boobs are a little bit sore, but nothing too bad. Going to enjoy the no-symptoms while they last! Good luck ladies :-)

This!  I actually made a special trip to the store last night to stock up on jolly ranchers and warheads. The didn't have the latter but sour patch kids were close enough.  I had my first vomiting session this morning before work and have barely been holding it together between the two and ice cold water

  • I was so paranoid last night thinking I was cramping!  Turns out, it was just gas.  I've never been so grateful for gas in my life before.
  • I have a stupid question about morning sickness/nausea

How did it start for you? Was it gradual or was it sudden? I'm nervous because as far as I can tell, I haven't had any kind of nausea yet which can be a bad sign.

I've been experiencing something that I think might be nausea and I feel really dumb because I'm not sure if I'm imaging it or not. It doesn't last very long....a few seconds tops, and then passes. I'm 6w2d today so I know that it's still a little early though I thought for most, MS is supposed to start around 6 week?

Seriously...I know I'm obsessing. I'm trying to keep the crazy at bay. Humor me?

@missteacherlady16  I have an encouraging response for you, but I'm running out to pick up DS from daycare.  I'll update in a few minutes!

Update: OK I'm back. So here are my thoughts and my experience.

It really has no bearing whatsoever on the general health of your pregnancy if you're not experiencing nausea. I felt NONE of that at any point of my pregnancy with DS and it was a textbook pregnancy. The exhaustion and food aversions were there for sure, but I wasn't remotely sick (or even feeling sick) at any time.

This time around I'm feeling mild nausea and it started around 6 weeks, but for others it can start much earlier or later. Mostly it feels like my head is "foggy," if that makes sense, and if I move too quickly it turns into slight dizziness and I feel like I might be sick. It's definitely not the traditional "oh my god I need a bathroom immediately" sort of feeling. Certain smells also trigger it.

Anyway. This was a really long way of saying RELAX. There's nothing wrong with not feeling sick. Embrace it and try to enjoy the excitement of these early weeks ;)

@missteacherlady16 , I'm also still so new to this.... but I am finding that my nausea isn't constant, nor was it sudden.  For me at least, it feels like it goes hand in hand with my food aversions and heightened sense of smell.  Like I'll smell something repulsive, and it'll make me gag.  Or SO will suggest a dish for dinner that sounds disgusting, and it'll make me nauseous just thinking about it.... but for me, my nausea doesn't happen out of the blue.  Something (food or smell) has to trigger it.

  • @missteacherlady16 I had absolutely no MS with my son.  I think I had a day where I felt a bit queezy and that was it.  I did have huge aversions to a lot of food though, but it wasn't because I was nauseous.  So it's completely possible to have absolutely no morning sickness at all and everything be a-ok.

Craving chicken nuggets like no other !
  • The last two days I've been eating like a hobbit. Breakfast, second breakfast, snack, lunch, snack, supper, dinner... I'm not gorging myself, but goodness I'm hungry! If I fight the hunger, exhaustion and a sick feeling take over. Just thinking about this is making me want to eat something.

  • @GingerGril haha I said the same thing about being a hobbit and having second breakfast all week lol I eat constantly. I try to eat small things throughout the day, it helps with the nausea too because otherwise I start to get queasy.

  • Anyone with just an upset stomach? I've had food aversions and a little bit of nausea thinking about or smelling some foods.  The past couple of days my stomach has been really upset. Didn't know if this was a symptom of pregnancy or if it was possibly a bug or something I ate...
  • @Piperella My stomach has been upset the last 2 days too.

And hello nausea. A part of me is thrilled because it's my first real pregnancy symptom but then again, i feel like I'm hungover until about 11.
  • @missteacherlady16, no nausea here yet either at 5w4d. Last pregnancy I had ZERO appetite and near constant nausea, though no real vomiting. This time I am hungry all the time (though even that is subsiding). My only symptoms are my sore and growing breasts and some fatigue.

  • The nausea has been bad the past couple of weeks but the past 2 days it's been pretty good.  Tummy is a bit sore (like indigestion) and I'm burping a lot! Sometimes the burping makes me gag which is always fun.  My nipples are sore, in a bra it's okay but when I take my bra off at night it's like OMG WHY DOES AIR HURT?!? I have some aches in my pelvic/back area but not cramps as much as it feels like I had a good workout and its tender (thanks stretching!).  Emotional/crankiness comes and goes not too badly.  During the day I can't eat and at night I can't stop!  Gotta love the insomnia too.

Oh! And let's not forgetting feeling like I've already gained 30lbs when I haven't gained anything.
    Pregnancy Ticker

  • @LauraPCOS I was wondering if anyone else had emotional/crankiness. I didn't think that would start until later on, I guess I was wrong.

I feel like I've been a raging bitch lately...but I also haven't been sleeping well, so I'm not sure if the bitchiness is directly related. However, there are tons of hormones going on right now, so it is not outside the realm of possibilities. When I feel myself becoming annoyed, I try to take a deep breath and think about if it's really as annoying as I think it is or are my hormones getting the better of me.
