Symptoms Thread: Feb 18th

Hey everyone!

I've been noticing a lot of threads started lately about different pregnancy symptoms. I think, instead of cluttering the main board, it may be easier to have one place to just discuss symptoms and experiences. So what symptoms are you currently experiencing? And what do you need help with symptom wise?

@DarthFuriosa - I think you're technically signed up for the symptoms thread, so I hope I'm not stepping on toes. I know you haven't been feeling well.

  • Headaches, crankiness and nausea! Oh my.

I fought nausea for a good 30 minutes yesterday morning, got a massive headache and terrible nausea last night, barfed up my whole dinner and went to bed at 8. Ordered preggie pops today (are they actual lollipops or hard candies?) and might be off to find ginger candies I can discreetly suck on at work.

I'm having horrible, disgusting, I-don't-want-to-be-around-myself gas EVERY NIGHT. DH and I were cracking up last night in bed because it was just so bad. Sorry if TMI but it's real y'all. Other than that, I'm just having mild cramping that rotates between uterine/lower back. Nothing terrible enough to take a tylenol for, just enough to be noticable/uncomfortable. I'm only 4+4 so I guess I should enjoy feeling fairly normal while it lasts!

ETA: Sorry you haven't been feeling well @DarthFuriosa. Hope you feel better soon!

  • I really haven't had much going on. I know it's still early (5+4 today) but I get worried that I don't seem to have any symptoms, at least nothing that would definitively say "you're KU!"

So I've had cramping due to gas, some fatigue, and maybe a little insomnia? I woke up to pee around 2 and then couldn't fall asleep for a good hour or so, which is very unlike me. I don't know if that counts as insomnia since I fell asleep last night in less than 10 minutes. I feel more bloated than usual but appetite is still normal.

@missteacherlady16 I actually felt pretty good (not counting the fatigue and sore boobs) until yesterday (6+2). The nausea came out of nowhere and hit me like a ton of bricks.

ETA: I keep looking at the Belly Book I had for DS and checking the symptoms I wrote down each week. Most of them say that I was tired, had kinda sore boobs, was bloated and cranky. I'm glad I wrote those down because they help calm my PGAL mind this time around.

  • @missteacherlady16 wow, I'm exactly as far along as you and feel the same way too! Besides large/sore breasts, I feel pretty great! Mild symptoms here and there...I always thought I would actually feel more pregnant, but reading other posts I guess we should be thankful for the lack of symptoms!!
  • Nausea and bone-weary exhaustion, plus being super moody. Today the nausea was the worst.

I'm using up the rest of the Costco-brand Slim Fasts I have (they make a great snack on the go right now when I don't actually feel like chewing something). I had to pull over about a mile from my house this morning and chug it because I was so nauseous I couldn't drive! I'm going to have to start the crackers by the bed trick, I think. It wasn't nearly this bad with DD! Trying to explain my SeaBands at work is going to start to get tricky...

  • Today I've had no nausea (so far).  Thinking about certain foods make me cringe, but other than that I feel like I've had an appetite increase.  I ate so much rice and takeout chicken korma last night.

Stabbing boob pain every now and then.... oh and acne breakouts.  Ugh.

Other than that, I'm feeling great!
  • 5+2 here.

I'm just tired and fighting a cold isn't helping. I don't have the energy to keep up with the house, packing and a toddler but I can't sleep at night. Aside from that, I'm getting cramps that go away with water/rest and I know they will just keep getting more annoying (I cramped the entire 40 weeks with my son, almost daily). I'm starting to feel very "meh" about food but no nausea in a week.

Nauseous. All. The. Time. It's been slightly better the last 2 days but it feels like my food is in my throat 24/7. And the thought of most foods makes me want to throw up

Some people have mentioned preggie pops, can anyone tell me what they are exactly and where to find them?

The nausea has been the hardest for me. It started last Wednesday. It starts from the moment I wake up until I go to bed. I usually throw up once in the morning when I'm getting ready for work. For the whole day I fight the urge to throw up. I gave in and emailed my doctor to see if she can prescribe me something. It's becoming really hard to concentrate at work.

  • @missteacherlady16 - is it typical for you to get up to go pee in the middle of the night? I know that's strictly a pregnancy symptom for me. I've been getting up every night around 2-2:30 to pee. Super annoying. And I probably pee like 3-4x times in the 2 hours before I go to sleep. It seems to be worse at night for me.

I should be around 6w4d. Supposed to have my first ultrasound tomorrow. I've been exhausted everyday since getting my BFP. Like I feel like a zombie. My boobs also hurt, but haven't for the last 2 days. It makes me nervous, but I've heard that's normal. No MS. Eating everything in sight.

  • I ordered Preggie Pops on Amazon yesterday after about 4-5 straight days of all day nausea, some vomiting at night.  It gets really bad at around 8:30 at night and I have to do some deep breathing so I don't lose it.  Today is day 2 of Diclegis (1 in the AM, 2 at night) and I'm actually feeling pretty good today, which is weird.  I was on zofran last time and it hardly touched my nausea, and I still threw up at least a couple times each day.  It's early, so I won't call it a miracle yet.  I'm REALLY hoping it can keep my symptoms at bay when they get worse in the coming weeks.

I've never tried Preggie Pops, but I think they're sour candy right?  Last pregnancy Jolly Ranchers helped somewhat and yesterday sour gummy worms calmed my stomach for a bit.  And oddly a glass of ice cold milk has been helping the last few days.  Hang in there everyone.  This part really is the worst.  Even the pain and discomfort at the end has nothing on 1st tri morning sickness.

@missteacherlady16 I wasn't having many symptoms either (other than some cramping and insomnia) and it was driving me crazy. Then I hit 6 weeks and bam! All day morning sickness, headaches, fatigue. I'm miserable. And so happy about it. Lol

  • I was in symptom less bliss till about last fri when i started feeling just yucky finally hit the puking yesterday. And DH came home literally a min after I had stopped puking in the Kitchen sink. He was so worried I guess I looked like I had been crying and all I could do was laugh and say this baby is the size of a pea and already kicking my butt. I am at 6w6d today so I guess our little one is closer to a blue berry but you get the sentiment.

for those ladies who don't have them yet the sea bands are heaven also preggy pops come in lollipop and drop form i love those thing they help with nausea just in general.

7w4d, and m/s is still pretty awful. I never actually throw up, I just spend the entire day wanting to vomit. Nothing sounds good and we have a fridge full of leftovers I can't bear to touch. I started taking Vitamin B6 yesterday, but I'm not sure it's helping as of yet. The only thing that seems to help is eating something. So I have to eat every two hours or so. At this rate I'm going to be as big as a house before the first trimester even ends.

Oh, and my boobs are huge and they hurt like a mother. I need to buy new bras.

Nausea that comes and goes. Worse usually when I wake up and get moving around. I'm always so hungry. I feel like I could eat a horse. My teetas are constantly sore. And i feel like I can't get enough sleep. And TMI ALERT diarrhea that won't seem to quit. But I'm not complaining in the least because all these symptoms are just reassurance that Peanut is alive and well tucked safely inside.
  • 7w5d.
My nausea that has been pretty persistent since 4w seems to be dying down. It's getting replaced by mood swings though.

Also, I started getting weird stabbing pains in my pubic bone. At first I was alarmed, but it stopped for now. I thought it was too early for this...
  • It's still pretty early for me (4w3d), but definitely count me in for sore boobs and gas. I've had some very mild cramping. Although, sometimes I realize later that it was just the gas lol. And also a slight increase in the frequency of urination, but it could be just from upping my water intake from 10 glasses a day to 14.

Other than that, I'm feeling pretty great. No nausea or fatigue yet, which is nice, but I feel like they're just around the corner waiting for me!

  • The exhaustion is really bad for me.  I think it is the worst symptom by far as it makes me completely unproductive at work and home.  I'm also starting to get nauseous again at the look and smell of foods.  Luckily no throwing up, and I feel sorry for any of you ladies that are vomiting.

  • Very early on for me yet, but I am TIRED.  Like hard to keep my eyes open at work tired.  Probably isn't helping that I have given up caffeine (at least for the first trimester).  I may have to reinstate a cup a day.  I did that last time with DD but I didn't have a toddler to chase around!  Besides that, I have some serious lower back pain.  It is just dull, aching pain.  I really hope that goes away as I know it will be back in spades when I am toting around a big belly!

  • @PeggyOlsonFTW consider yourself lucky that it was only for about 30 minutes and hopefully the drops help you keep it contained. Mine has been the reverse the last 10 days where I only get about 30 minutes where I am not hit by bricks nauseous in a day. Hoping this doesn't last the entire rest of this trimester or beyond.

    The drops taste awesome btw.

Besides having to put up with this stupid cold that hasn't let me breathe or sleep well for the last 3 days, just have the fatigue, moodiness, constipation and am SO hungry! I used to NEVER eat before leaving to work and now I have to eat or I get hANGRY! LOL! I can't wait to be back to normal when this cold is gone, then I can focus on my pg related stuff. ♥

  • 6+4 now.  Fatigue is pretty strong and I have been getting 9-10 hours of sleep a night complete with crazy dreams and minus the 3 AM pee break, which is annoying.  Nauseau comes and goes, mostly in the evenings, but I have only had 2 bad nights where I felt I needed to keep the trashcan close.

Other than that.. minimally sore nipples and a lot of constipation, which is decreasing my already decreased appetite. I think I am down a few pounds so far.

@PeggyOlsonFTW, I have the hard candy version of the preggi pops and I think someone already said there are lollipops, too. I also have a chew version (may not be the same preggie pop brand) which is also pretty darn tasty but I haven't found them quite as effective.  DH got them both for me from Babys R Us.

  • I've been having sore boobs and my sense of smell has definitely increased. I noticed tonight that I had/have super light spotting. TMI but it was only when I wiped and then to confirm I had to go inside to find blood. Now I'm very worried/ scared. But trying to let the positive google results outweigh the negative results/ worse case.

  • I'm 7 weeks today. Overall I still feel pretty good. Some days I am absolutely exhausted, and other days I feel pretty normal. But every day by evening I am absolutely exhausted! I have been slightly moody, and off and on queasy feeling. It's only every so often, but when it does hit, it is really bad! I have already thrown up once this pregnancy, and had another close call this morning. With my first I was a little nauseous, but never got sick! If it stays mild this time too, I will be happy!

  • Oh well I'm glad to know I'm not the only one experiencing a lack of symptoms at the point. It makes it easier to quiet the crazy. I'm sure I'll feel ridiculous soon for ever complaining about lack of symptoms.

i know someone asked me about my middle of the night pee sessions. It's probably pregnancy related but I've been drinking a lot more water so it's also possible that I just have a tiny bladder. I normally could sleep through the night as long as I stopped slamming water by 6 pm but now I just drink all night so I'm getting up 1-2 times a night. Usually just once though.

@missteacherlady16 my first symptoms were increased thirst and waking up at night to pee, so I'd definitely think it's pregnancy related for you as well! You're still early though. I didn't start the MS until almost week 7.

  • I had a little bit of sore boobs and slight nausea weeks 4-5. Just hit week 6 today and lately I haven't been feeling anything really. It's bumming me out. I wish I had better signals that said "pregnant!" Also my ultrasound is not for three more weeks, so no visual confirmation, either.

  • 5+4 and I'm in the "very few symptoms" camp. I get tired easily and I'm moody, but that's about it. Another pg test today confirmed still KU.
  • So these "pregnancy farts?" They are a real thing apparently? Those showed up today. Thank god I was doing a bad wound case and could blame the smell on that.

Right. And I guess now that I think about it, I do have symptoms, they're just subtle (sore boobs, increased thirst and ruination, fatigue, bloat, and to some extent, mood swings).
