It's Tuesday and you know what that means!
Time to get the things off your chest.
1. Last night was the first night in a long time I didn't need to use unisom to fall asleep. Thank you, brain for shutting off.
2. It's 7:30am and DD is still asleep. I could be up getting ready for the day, but I'm laying in bed instead. I figure there won't be many more days in my future to rest/sleep, so I'm going to enjoy it.
3. H gave me a new book about a month ago. Every time I have a chance to pick it up, I start looking at pinterest instead. Whoops.
Re: TTT!
2. We had an okay weekend - grocery shopping was way too much effort for me though!
3. Our company is doing our first big animation - love the new avenues!
4. My granny and her twin is turning 85 this week. Nobody thought they would even grow up!
5. My DH is the best, most sweetest person in the world! He is so careful of letting me overdo anything these days.
6. Sometimes I think it's no wonder I have high blood pressure with some of the people in my life. Geeslaaik.
7. My mom is hosting my shower on the 9th of April now. I am actually excited cause baby gifts!! Just scared people will think they need to bring me something as well cause my bday is on the 8th. Hopefully they will forget (haha).
8. I have no idea what is for dinner tonight - brownies?
9. I deleted Facebook off my phone and I am so much less negative! People are annoying! Such a good step towards achieving overall positivity.
10. Only two more hours of work left! Happy Tuesday!
2. I cleaned way to much on Sunday during nap time. I'm glad that things are in great order (for now) but I was so sore yesterday.
3. I'm starting to feel the time crunch.
4. I tried out a crockpot pad Thai recipe yesterday and it came out pretty well! It was good enough to put in the easy-meal rotation for certain.
5. DH and I decided that I'll stay at home next year; I'm so excited to be able to be with my boys and to not have to do the rushed work-pump-clean-hope people don't barge through the locked door shuffle. It's going to take some cutting back, but we've lived on less than his current salary before (with a child) when DH has been laid off in the past, so it shouldn't be a big problem. Him securing a better job that offers insurance made a big difference for us.
6. I'm so tired today.
7. Counting down the days to maternity/extended leave.
8. I love my new chiropractor.
9. After I teach my classes, I have to cover a health class the last period of the day because the teacher is out without a sub...should be interesting
10. I just want to clean and organize everything at home.
2. It still amazes me how many threads are posted over there asking for suggestions for inducing themselves because they are tired of being pregnant even though the threads basically make people (rightfully so) lose their minds.
3. I was adding something to the registry last night and I realized it has a countdown on it that I've never seen before...68 days to go.
4. I started getting really, really out of breath at spin this week. Not sure how much longer I can stick with it.
5. But, in reference to #4, I am gaining weight like crazy so I'm afraid to stop. I know, I'm supposed to gain. But eek.
6. Last night our 60lb lab tried to climb in the bed with us in sloooow motion so that we wouldn't notice her. She got caught...she's a 60lb dog. We noticed.
7. Yesterday I hit my bump on the door because I didn't open it wide enough to get through. Awesome, I literally have no idea where I end now.
8. We made progress on the nursery this weekend by patching up the walls and filling in the plumbing that the previous owner installed. Why he thought it was a good idea to install washer/dryer hookups in the 2nd bedroom, I have no idea. He was a "contractor" but we've found about a million things that he half-assed in his own house. We also still get his collection notices. AND, when we moved it there were propane tanks from 3 different companies in the yard but only one was hooked up. Turns out that he would buy propane from one company, not pay for it, and then switch to another company and do the same when he ran out. Real upstanding guy.
9. I bought a dress from Destination Maternity that looked adorable on the pretending-to-be-pregnant model. It was not adorable on me in any way shape or form. I ordered another one from Pink Blush that I'm hoping works out better. I wish the stores around me had actual maternity sections that I could go to actually try things on.
10. Still soooo much to do with the house to get ready for baby. IDK how it will get done in time.
2. DH saw baby kicking from the outside for the first time yesterday and got really excited.
3. I am anxious for my baby showers in Texas in less than 2 weeks! I heard that some bluebonnets are already popping out around Austin, which would be awesome to see. I'm not so anxious for long plane/car rides, my back aches just thinking of it.
4. I have been kind of home-sick for my mom lately. We are SUPER close, but I haven't lived in the same city as her since I was 18 (~12 years now). We visit often and talk all the time, but lately I've been getting more sad about it with baby on the way. She plans to visit us every 6-8 weeks for long weekends (~5 days), so I think that will be manageable.
5. DH is super great, but I have been really annoyed by silly small things he's done lately.
6. Work is crazy busy. DH and I work on the same team with the same supervisor, so as I put together my transition plan I know a lot of my work will be handled by him. For some reason I don't envision a work-free maternity leave.
7. I filed taxes and did a good cleaning of the house last weekend. Now I want to obsessively organize all rooms/closets and finalize our post-baby budget.
8. So.Many.Appointments - regulator dr visits, pediatricians, daycares, 3d ultrasound, hospital tour/class, infant CPR, breastfeeding class, photo sessions, etc.. Yikes!
9. When I'm down in Texas, my BFF and I are going to hit up Kendra Scott to take advantage of the birthday discount!
10. I've started stocking up on some household and toiletry-type essentials to last us at least a few months after baby is born. I know we will still be able to go to stores, but I like having a good reserve of some of the key items. Next up will be planning freezer meals.
2. My favorite flower is the stargazer lily so for Valentine's Day, my DH helped my DD buy me some lily bulbs so I could plant them at the house. We planted them that weekend and they are already sprouting.
3. My DH has a work dinner tonight so I'm gearing up for extended time with DD today. I love being a SAHM mom but especially at this point in pregnancy, it is sometimes nice to have a small break when he comes home from work (when I cook and clean haha). Maybe we will get chickfila for dinner tonight.
4. I have an ultrasound appointment on Thursday, the first since 16 weeks. At 16 weeks the doc said he was confident it was a boy and we got a shot of the goods. Somehow though I really need the confirmation on Thursday! It's been a long time that I've been working off that early statement. I'm crazy.
5. I get balayage highlights in my hair and I'm ready to go lighter for the summer. I only have to go every three months or so since my roots don't get touched very much but I want to make an appointment for early March because I'm ready for a change.
I got fiiiiiiive on it (we can sing that for the rest of the day)
2. I just had the most heart-wrenching parent meeting of all time. Apparently someone from the school filed on her and she thought it was me. Obviously, I can't say either way, but she was so hurt. They were recently "displaced" (aka homeless) and she has been doing beyond the best that she can as a single mom. I was out for a few days and it turns out that my sub nurse was concerned because mom said she gave him medicine to help the student sleep. He actually does have a sleeping disorder, but we didn't have up-to-date MD orders since the medicine was not to be administered at school. Well, it turned into a big thing and now I feel like our rapport has been damaged and it kills me because that is my #1 priority; letting the families know that we are all on the same team with the same goal.
3. I want to go home and eat animal crackers.
4. I think the grief of my MIL's passing is finally settling in. I was in go-mode all last week and now it feels like a huge weight just sitting on my chest. My SIL sent a frantic email asking when we should celebrate all the birthdays next month and how we were going to get all the Easter baskets put together for the kids and who would be with my FIL on what would've been my MIL's birthday this coming Tuesday. Usually, these sort of things make me snap into action mode, but right now I just feel so bogged down and overwhelmed, like I am being swallowed up in a big wave. Ugh.
5. MH's response to his grief is kinda taking me off-guard. He is super horny and giddy and working ALL THE TIME. Just this week, he has taken gigs every night, sometimes piggy-backing them so he is working 8am-5pm at his day job, then doing a gig at 6pm, then another at 9pm, then another at midnight, and then coming home at 3am. He does sleep (I am usually up at 3am for a bathroom run so I make sure he goes straight to bed), but he gets up at 6am, ready and raring to go. I am a little concerned that he is going to just crash at some point and I am nervous that I won't be strong enough to pick up all the pieces.
6. I just got a text back from my son's teacher that he is having a blast and is back in the groove. Phew! One thing off my mind!
7. I am so detached from work right now. We had February break last week and yesterday and today have just felt like I am going through the motions. I have sooooo much to do to prepare for my maternity leave, but I have less than no motivation. I just want to fast forward to April break when my maternity leave starts. Where's the skip button?
8. Our finances have been really sticky lately, but we are getting an awesome tax refund and MH is working all the time and our new daycare is much cheaper (can we just talk about how we paid over $16,000 in daycare expenses last year?! When my tax person said that, I nearly fell out of my chair!). Hopefully this is the turn around we have been hoping for.
9. Just got an email from my nurse leader that someone from DPH is going to be visiting our district tomorrow and she wants to have them spend their entire visit in my office. Oh, sure, not like I don't have enough to do. Just pile on a whole two hours of posing and putting on a show for the state. I am this close to cutting the crap and just letting it all out. But I won't. I'll be a good little show puppy. Woof woof.
10. I thought I said I was giving up negativity for Lent? Whooops! Sorry. So to end on a good note, we went out to brunch with our dear friends on Sunday after church and asked them to be Baby Luna's godparents. They were beyond psyched (they are childless/child-free because they were having fertility issues and decided it just wasn't meant to be for them). I am so happy that we have that settled and it is really a great way to show them how much we appreciate all they have done for us through the years. They are such great friends and I want them to have a special place in our daughter's life.
And if you need any help with the health class, just let me know. Depending on what they are doing, it could get VERY interesting... :-P
2. I bawled my eyes out saying good bye to my cat.
3. I'm excited to not being going to work for the next 7 days!
4. I am hungry
5. 20 degrees where I am and 75 where I am headed
6.I can't believe its almost march!
7. I am tired all the time.
8. I feel ugly and fat
9.I think I will end up sleeping most of our vaca.
10. Beaches!
2. We agreed that it would be a good idea for me to go part time after maternity leave. I wish I could be a SAHM but unfortunately we can't fully afford it yet due to insurance so I will have to wait until after our wedding in October.
3. I'm getting an email from my insurance company today about what kind of pumps they cover. I'm excited to finally be able to go through my options and register for attachments.
4. SO got a huge promotion to VP and took over a bigger branch. Which is a double plus bcuz he got a raise and this bank is only 15-20 minutes from our house!
5. My sweet tooth has increased over the last two weeks but I've only gained half a pound since and I've been good and controlling my urges to eat every piece of chocolate in sight, which is hard for me!
6. My dogs are finally starting to notice the change in my body and have quit jumping on me when I walk in the door. They sit and wait for me to pet them.
7. Snow is coming and I love snow plus it will be on my day off this week so I don't have to drive in it and I can enjoy hot chocolate while catching up on my fav shows.
8. I've been very good about keeping up on house work lately (nesting maybe) so on my day off, Thursday, I won't have any chores to do!!!!
9. SO bought me a Snoogle Sunday and it's the best thing!
10. It's a slow day at work today, so no rushing around and plenty of time to be on TB!!
2. My husband felt our LO kick the other day for the first time and was beyond excited
3. I had really wanted to get the nursery finished over the weekend but my dad had a small stroke (no permanent damage thankfully!) so we didn't make any progress and don't know when we'll be able to get around to finishing it anytime soon
4. I have Friday off to travel out of state for a high school friends wedding and can't wait for a mini road trip with a bunch of friends
5. Having a hard time finding something to wear for the bachelorette party for the wedding this weekend, none of my maternity clothes are good for going out
6. Acid reflux has hit hard this past week, it seems like I get it no matter what I eat
7. I've been able to wear heels without any problems until today, my ankles feel like they're about to give out. Guess it's time to pack them away until after the baby is born
8. DH and I went to carters this weekend because we had a $10 reward to spend and ended up buying way too much for our little girl, her closet is already full. Working part time at carters/Oshkosh is very dangerous when you see the clothes every week and know you have a discount
9. This weekend was wicked spring like and now it's back to the cold and snow this week, I'm so over the cold
10. really hoping I can find some excuse to sneak out of work early today, I can't last another four hours
1.) Picked up a stray dog on my way into work today who was in very bad shape.
2.) Two hours late to work because of said dog... and he ate my lunch. (worth it)
3.) I realize more and more how much people and their lack of compassion DISGUST me.
4.) I am really, super hungry right now.
5.) My truck is going to smell like stinky dog for awhile (also worth it)
6.) I wish I could start my own shelter or be an advocate of some kind against animal cruelty.
7.) I have a sore throat and hoping it's not a cold/flu.
8.) I have my 3D US Saturday and I'm very excited to see my baby girl.
9.) I feel like a kid on Christmas because I'm so excited and anxious for my due date.
10.) I have no idea what's for dinner tonight.
1) Havent done one of these in a few weeks. Figure I don’t have enough for every week, so every 2 or 3 weeks should get to me 10 things
2) I cannot believe I am in 3rd tri already. I remember obsessively peeing on sticks and thinking the worst was going to happen. I am so blessed to have made it this far!
3) Finally changed my name!! It wasn’t that important to me, but was for DH so it’s the least I could do. I am happy though that our family will have the same last name. Its feels very unifying.
4) My allergies are getting worse as I progress in my pregnancy. Up to one Claritin a day plus my allergy shots. Hoping after delivery, I can breathe again.
5) The next person that comments on my weight is getting sat on.
6) I am starting to set my assistant up for while I am out on maternity leave. Hoping she is able to pick up the slack and not screw too much up…
7) Anyone else just sweltering? Yesterday I was running around the office in a tank dress, I was so hot. I feel like I need spring clothes already just so I don’t sweat to death!
8) Yeah Rattled is on tonight! It has quickly become my favorite new show!
9) Reading a “mindfulness” book on child birth. Yeah right… starting to think the epidural will be my friend….
10) The thread about the cervical checks has me freaked out. I think it just hit me this week. I need to get this baby out somehow!!
https://elianasgardens.wordpress.com/2013/01/05/crockpot-pad-thai/
2. I'm actually excited for curling tonight
3. I think my cold might finally be going away!!!!!!!
4. The place we do agility with the dogs is closing next month. I definitely cried the whole car ride home when I found out.
5. I also have zero work motivation today
6. I'm very excited to go to an indoor water park this weekend with DH's family even though I only get to go in the wave pool and down the boring slide
7. My parents surprised me with the rocking chair we wanted
8. Over Valentine's day I was able to get all of the wedding shower game supplies together and ready to go for my sister's shower in April. My mom keeps telling me I'm crazy but I wanted it prepared in case something crazy happens and I can't drive down that weekend.
9. I watched my friends bunny over the weekend and it did not like me. I got bit trying to put her food dish in her cage and she liked to charge at me. I felt silly, but this 4 lb animal was sort of terrifying
10. The company my dad works for (as a higher up person) is celebrating 50 years this April! I'm getting a custom cribbage board made for him with the anniversary logo but need to figure out how to get permission to use the logo without him finding out... Time for stealth mode
1. I got an automated call this morning from my student loan provider so I was all like "Sweet, maybe my repayment plan was approved!" Logged onto the website and nothing other than the notice that I'm past due. Well duh, I can't afford to make a monthly payment that big, that's why I applied for a repayment plan that I'm waiting on you to approve. I hate student loans. HATE them.
2. This past weekend it warmed up to a glorious 60 degrees! In February in Michigan! It's pretty rare so it was wonderful. Now we're expecting 8" of snow tomorrow. Yay February..
3. I talked to our attorney yesterday to get legal paperwork done (will, durable power of attorney, medical) should something happen to us now that we're having a child. Hooray for being a responsible adult!
4. Since my husband is 50% Native American I'm trying to convince him to register so we can register our daughter who will be 25%. He's very against it since his Native American heritage came from his mom who basically abandoned his family when he was 6 years old. I completely understand his reasoning, but I tried to come at it from the standpoint of if Harper is registered the local band covers a HUGE portion of her tuition once she would go to college. I hoped that him knowing how much I'm in debt to student loans that would appeal to him. He said he's think about it but I don't know if he'll be convinced.
5. I made a smoothie last night on a whim...my first ever. Both Husband and I were a fan so I think we'll start making them more.
6. I got my baby shower invite in the mail yesterday and it's perfect. My best friend did good.
7. I'm not really a fan of maternity dresses...maybe I'm not finding the right ones. But I feel like when I try them on they make me look so much bigger than I actually am - I think it's because they're not fitted. So I'm rethinking my baby shower dress.
8. I'm only 26 weeks but pregnancy uncomfort hit hard over the weekend. I just feel so uncomfortable all the time, my belly is constantly in the way, all this weird shit is happening with my body that no one tells you about before you decide to have a kid. And the gas. Good Lord.
9. We're going to tour a daycare today that has really good reviews. Hopefully we're happy with it, but they already have a waiting list so we're not sure if we'll be able to get in by September so we may look into a temporary nanny until she can get in.
10. I'm at a loss for #10 so everyone have a happy Tuesday!
2. My step dad hung gutter book shelves in the nursery... I love them! They're super cute and apparently they were cheap and easy to make.
3. Idk if my LO ever sleeps. She's kicking and moving all day and all night.
4. All this moving is becoming painful.
5. I seriously have no idea how I can get much bigger than I am. When she rolls over I feel like I'm going to burst open alien style. I just don't know if my body can do it.
6. I never participate in HDBD but I think I look sort of cute today. Maybe I'll take a picture today and save it to post tomorrow.
7. I just don't feel like my bump photographs well. My boobs and belly blend together into a big mass.
8. This past weekend it was in the 50s. Wednesday night we're expecting snow. I'm very ready for spring.
9. Only 2 weeks until spring break. We won't be doing much but I'm looking forward to sleeping in.
10. I called the parent of a first grader at school today because he refused to follow directions after multiple prompts. He stuck his tongue out at me and said "That's why you got fat!" I love children.
DD: 05/14/16
2. Have a business lunch with a customer today. Looking forward to eating out.
3. I'm the team mom for DD's bball team and their end of season party is the week I'm supposed to have a c section. Add more things to my list of things to do before the baby comes.
4. We're also doing some renovations and I'm trying not to freak out.
5. We're going away this weekend for a last little getaway before we're a family of 4.
6. Any good book recs?
7. I can't believe it's almost March!
2. Thursday we have a long 2 and a half hour meeting. Plus side of this? I get free lunch from Outback for having to go.
3. Got a message back from my insurance company last week about breast pumps. They cover them 100% from in network providers and the one I wanted to be on the list was so now I can actually get the pump I want. That and DH was really happy bc he didn't realize how much they cost. They also cover accessories and parts if purchased from the providers. Finally a win for the insurance company.
4. Our project manager asked me for my registry info the other day. This is a person who likes to celebrate everything... so guess I'm getting a work baby shower. Which is nice bc pregnancies don't happen around here very often and when they do they aren't really celebrated.
5. I had been craving PB&J sandwiches for the past 3 days and we didn't have anything at home to make them. DH surprised me last night and on top of buying stuff to have spaghetti for dinner (my favorite) he also bought PB&J supplies. I've already had 3 sandwiches since then and kinda looking forward to going home so I can have another...
6. 2nd birthing class tomorrow night. Excited bc DH said he actually felt like he learned a lot at the last one and he seems to enjoy going. Which he's hopefully not just saying bc it makes me feel better.
7. Taxes are finally almost done. We're expecting a decent sized return which hopefully won't take too long to get bc we're using it for the new floor in the nursery. Once we get that we will finally be making some headway in there.
8. Talked to my mom finally. My brother is graduating HS this year and she is almost done paying for his end of the year stuff (yearbook, grad night, cap and gown, etc.) so I'm next apparently. She said she would be going through the registry and picking a bunch of stuff. Not that I didn't expect it, but excited someone will finally be getting me some stuff off the registry.
9. Also someone my mom works with, their daughter had a baby girl last May and has a ton of clothes she was just going to give away so she's giving them to my mom to give to me to do whatever I want with. Kind of excited. Worst case I'll have a bunch of backup outfits I can send to daycare. Baby girl already has quite the wardrobe...
10. Our nursery is nowhere near done, but I love to sit in my rocker in there and just think. It's hard to believe in 3 months or so there will be a baby actually using that room.
Second - Amen. I'm horrified. do they have to check?
2. Also happening on Thursday: we are getting new windows installed in every room that has them. I'm really looking forward to having windows that I don't have to struggle to open/close and that I know will latch tightly when I lock them.
3. And the lighter electricity bills, if the company's information packet is anything to believe. But the windows that are currently here were installed over 30 years ago and they definitely don't have the greatest insulation ever, so at this point anything would be an improvement.
4. I've been having Braxton-Hicks on pretty much a daily basis now. They don't really hurt, but man do they take my breath away. I'm starting to feel a bit nervous about what the real thing is gonna feel like.
5. My baby shower is April 2nd, and the dress I ordered for it arrived just yesterday. It mostly fits well, but it's at least a good five inches or so longer than I need it to be, so I need to have it tailored. Anyone have any general suggestions for when I should take it in? I don't want to go too soon and have them make it too short because I've grown however many inches wider by the time I need to wear it, but I also don't want to go too late and not get it back in time.
6. The pregnancy rage has been real lately. I've been trying to be patient, but every little thing DH does drives me nuts! For example, right now he is munching on dry macaroni pasta like it's chips. It's loud and annoying and also, kind of ew? I can't understand how he can eat it like that.
7. @ashleyla526 and @TXmamatobe mentioned Kendra Scott. I've been obsessing over the Color Bar for a few months now...I really really want the Kiri necklace in silver and set with an emerald, since that will be DD's birthstone. Mother's Day will be right around that time...
8. I'm actually not much of a jewelry person normally - I don't even wear earrings most days - but I like the idea of having something with me that I can associate DD with. Kind of like how I associate my engagement/wedding rings with my husband. And my sister and I each have an infinity heart ring from James Avery. It's not like I have to have jewelry for each of my major relationships, or that anything would change if anything happened to said jewelry or anything like that - but I like having things with a special meaning to them that will also last and are easy to keep.
9. Speaking of DD, her kicks are getting stronger and this morning they are aimed right at my bladder.
10. Also, did I mention the Braxton-Hicks? Because I feel like I didn't put enough emphasis on that earlier. I'm gonna go guzzle some water and try to take a nap and see if that helps. Gah.
Edited because werdz are hard.
