How are you ladies handling your weight?

Re: How are you ladies handling your weight?

  • I FINALLY made it back to the gym this weekend, did 45 minutes of cardio the first day and attempted a light return to weight training the second day. I was super careful (high reps, conservative weight #s) but here are my legs today:

Arms aren't faring much better, it was fun taking the trash out this morning. :|

  • Has anyone lost weight so far?  I'm at 11 was and down 4 lbs and definitely not eating healthy.  Although drinking more water and no constipation.   Plus am normally overweight, so hoping it's still ok.
  • @LakeR2014 I have lost about 5 lbs. I'm at 11 weeks too! It is definitely okay we have lost weight. We will definitely gain it back in he 2nd trimester!
  • @LakeR2014 Totally normal. I'm also overweight and lost 15 lbs during first tri with my first and almost 20 lbs this time. With DD, I gained 45 lbs in second and third tri, so I caught up and ended up with a 30 lb overall gain. I am going to make an attempt to gain less in my second tri this time because I started out heavier this pregnancy.

  • I have gained about 2 or 3 so far as well- though I swear depending on the day and if I can actually go to the bathroom my weight changes lol. Trying to eat more healthy things. I didn't get MS at all so I didn't lose any weight. My next OBGYN appointment is at stinking 5 p.m. too, so I will be heavier than normal because of it being so late in the day. I'll be compensating by wearing the lightest clothing I own lol!

  • I lost 16 lbs between week 6 and week 9 but now that I have nausea medication I'm gaining much quicker than I'd like... Ugh
  • Between my first and second appointments (3 weeks apart) I had lost 6 pounds from all the puking. Not sure if I've gained it back or maintained; my scale is out of batteries. I am TRYING to walk at least a mile a day (not always successful) and I try and do yoga once a week. I gained 40 pounds with my daughter and wasn't active at all, so I'm trying to do things differently this time.

  • From my 8 week appt and 12 week appt I didn't gain. But then again I was living on protein bars, juice, milk and other small snacks. Now my appetite is better and I've been eating more. But trying to get in as many veggies and fruit as possible. But I did have BK for breakfast at least once a week in the last few weeks. I end up running late in the morning, pack my son's breakfast and lunch so I grab what I can on my 45 mins commute to work. I have protein bars and instant oatmeal for when I'm at work. But I start at 9am and my first break isn't until 11am. Then lunch at 1230 and a 215 break before I am done at 530.
  • So far I've gained 2 to 4 pounds, depending on the day lol.

  • I'm at zero pounds and almost 14 weeks. I know I've lost muscle though - the skin on my calves is grossly loose. I've been constantly nauseous and the only thing I want to do is lay on the couch. I gained 60 (at least, I stopped looking at the scale when I broke 200lbs) w my first kid in 1999. I was young, and had no idea what I was doing. I had horrible heartburn and the ONLY thing that helped was frozen custard. I ate a bite or two all throughout the day and had to sleep in a recliner to manage to get any rest. Seventeen years later I know how much harder it's going to be to return to a healthy weight. My focus isn't on the numbers so much as nourishing my growing baby, my overall wellbeing and the health of my body that I'd like to carry me in to old age.
  • I'm kind of jealous of some of you ladies who have not gained or lost due to nausea. I had bad nausea from week 6 through week 10, and I still gained 3 lbs between appointments. I have no idea how much I've gained at this point, but I don't get on the scale until right before my appointments just to mentally prepare. I obsessed about my weight far too much with my first pregnancy and I'm not going to allow my body issues to suck the joy out of this experience for me again. I'm just eating when I'm hungry and trying not to over do it on junk. Now that I'm in 2nd tri I'm hoping to have the energy to keep up a more regular exercise routine as well.
