So, I love wearing my LO. I loved wearing DD1 before ergonomic carriers and baby wearing became a main stream thing. I thought I would hate trying to wrap my baby. I thought I was clumsy and my daughter would slip through the wrap. I really liked my Lillebaby. It was comfortable and quick and sturdy. After a bit of protest, one of the ladies in a local moms group got me to try wrapping Bridget. Ladies, I fell in love. It was so much more comfortable for both of us. The wrap molded to our bodies and could be adjusted much more quickly than my formerly beloved Lillebaby. (I'm fickle, I accept that about myself.) I joined a baby wearing group with a library and am trying all the wraps. They are so beautiful. I can feel my bank account crying as I stalk facebook B/S/T pages. lol.

Are you a baby wearing virgin or an old pro? (Being a pro sounds like a bad thing when compared to a virgin, but really it's not meant that way. lol) What are some of the reasons you do or do not like the idea of baby wearing? For those that do carry, what are some of your favorite wraps or carriers and why? For wrappers, what are your go to carries?

Wear all the babies!!

I have too many carriers and wraps to name. Even my husband wears our kids.
It just makes like easier.

I use the Moby everywhere we go! I used it with my older daughter too, but it wasn't as necessary as it is this time around. I love it so much! I haven't even tried any other wraps, though.

Ohhh! I love baby wearing, this is my first, so I guess I'm kind of a virgin. Ha ha I have an ergo and a ring sling and I just bought my first wrap (a linen blend yaro). I love it! I can't wait to try a back carry. The tie off is so much prettier with a wrap! I love my local baby wearing group too. It is an amazing group of ladies (and men!).

I've got a Moby wrap and love it!! I wouldn't mind getting a structured carrier too but the moby is great. Anyone know if there's a back hold for it? I'm doing the hug hold now but I see that being tough on my back as he gets heavier

I love my chimparoo ring sling! I told my fiancé that for Easter I want to buy a Tula or Lillebaby for Arlo's Easter present. Any advice on which one you guys prefer?

LO hates the wrap but loves his carriers! I carry him basically everywhere. My mom thinks its weird since she prefers strollers and crap like that. the stroller that came with our car seat is in her car, since so far she's the only one that uses it. I hate myself for leaving him when I go to work, so I keep him extra close the rest of the time.

I wear LO in the Moby wrap and love it! I also bought a Tula to use when he's bigger, since babies should be atleast 15 pounds unless you buy an infant insert.

Just fold up a receiving blanket and put in under them. You can find a video tutorial on YouTube. I use my Tula all the time without an insert.

First, I'll say I really like the features that the Lillebaby has that the Tula does not. Second, try before you buy!! I can make the Lillebaby and other carriers work for me, but they do not fit my body type very well. Petite women tend to have a hard time with them which is in large part why I love using a wrap so much. The fit is so much better. The leaders of the baby wearing group I belong to put it this way - Carriers/wraps are like jeans. What fits one person like a dream may be awful on someone else. Also, when you try before you buy you should wear it for a few hours so you get a good feel for what it's really like. Almost anything feels fine for an hour or so.

I get to try any carrier/wrap they have in their library for up to one month so I can get a good feel for the item or even just use something like a water sling for a beach vacation. I super highly recommend doing things this way.

I just got my Tula in the mail today. Had an infantino but it was uncomfortable. I can't wait to use the Tula but baby is sleeping!!!! It's sly pattern. So in love. I love baby wearing it's so much easier and baby loves it too

From everything I've read a used wrap is probably better anyways since it's already broken in and so is likely to be softer and easier to use.

You can't back carry with a stretchy wrap. You'll need an sac or nom-stretch wrap. : )

I got a baby k'tan based on some recommendations but Elodie hated it so I ended up returning it to BRU. We have a structured carrier too that she does seem to like. I really wanted to baby wear, and I'm sure I was either doing it wrong it should try another type, but we're too broke to buy others and I'm too antisocial to join a fb group. So there's that... Definitely jealous of you ladies who are making it work!!

Joining one of those chapters doesn't need to involve much socialization and could help a lot. Think of it as going to school. You check out a carrier from the library and the certified expert (they're literally certified experts in how to wear babies safely) teaches you tips and tricks then you go home.

I'm a Virgin but we both love it. DD is a spitter though so she often spits up in it which gets all over me, her and the carrier. Super gross but she often falls asleep in the carrier which rocks for getting dinners made and the house cleaned.

I love love love my boba wrap, I am going to get a lillababy all seasons in a couple weeks to use this spring and summer. Also considering a water wrap for the summer.

I didn't think I'd be a big baby wearer, but that was before I had a 'velcro baby'! Wearing her makes life so much easier. I got a Moby wrap at my shower, but I was scared of using it when kiddo was tiny, so I got an infantino carrier. She's not a huge fan of either, likes the moby far more, but she conks out fast. Some days it's the only way she'll nap. I think she doesn't like them bc she wants to hold her head up and look all around, so she might like them when she's older and I can do a hip carry. Looking in to a ring sling now, since the moby is so warm, I want something lighter and breathable for warmer weather.

With my first I had a B'jorn and hated it because it made my back hurt. Now I have a k'tan, ergo 360, and just got a beachfront. LO doesn't really seem to like the k'tan and ergo as she fusses and cries until she falls asleep. Once she does she will sleep in them for hours. I haven't tried the beachfront yet as all the fabric is intimidating. The others are structured. I am excited to try out the beachfront though. I really like baby wearing.

I'm a FTM, but 13 weeks of baby carrying has made me feel like I'm an old pro. ;-)

All of my baby carriers were given to me as gifts. I have two mei tais and an ergo 360. I never use the ergo, not because I don't like it once it's on, but because I can't get it on without help. There is a strap right behind the neck, and it is impossible to clip it with one hand without catching my hair in it. Not to mention it's a pain to adjust.

I LOVE the mei tai. It's super easy to fit just right, and it is fast to get her in and move on with my day. She's happy. I'm happy. She even smiles whenever I start tying it around my waist.

I have a boba wrap which I love and an ergo. I haven't tried the ergo again since getting the wrap, but I had a c-section and it was putting too much pressure on my incision. Did any other c-section mommas have this problem, or is it just because I'm petite and weird? Also, holy hell batman, Wyatt sweats up a storm in the wrap!

I didn't wear my other 2. I've noticed I feel like I missed so much with them that I've discovered with LO. I'm still learning everyday 3 kids later!! Anyways, I am MOBY obsessed! I wear it everywhere even in the house. I have other wraps. Ergo, katan, regular buckle wrap and sling wrap. I like the sling one but it's too tight for me and not adjustable. But I'm literally in love with the moby. Unfortunately it was the last of them all that I discovered or I wouldn't have wasted my money on the others. Lol. I love taking her everywhere and I hate carrying that dang heavy carseat all over the place. If im not wearing im carrying. My LC actually complimented me on carrying her. She said "I absolutely love seeing mom's carrying their baby, now days you always see those bulky seats or strollers, it's refreshing to see a baby in a mother's arms." I feel way better with her close to me.

There is so much here!
I looked into the BWI, for me the closest chapter is an hour or so away.. Might still try it out..
I found a gently used Moby at a consignmen for five dollars but we never quite got the hang of it.. I'd wear him around the househouse, but he was hour or miss whether he liked it.
He really likes the ergo, the first time he was in it my SO carried him around the zoo for three hours!
I like wearing the ergo kiiind of.. I want something to wrap. I feel like it'll be faster, more comfortable, and ,not that this is the most important quality but rather a bonusbonus, but cuter.

I never got the hang of baby wearing with DS1 but I'm loving it with this LO. I bought a cheap moby-style wrap from amazon (a 'funki flamingo' wrap) and it was a little intimidating at first but I got used to wrapping it pretty quickly. I love that I can wear the wrap under my coat to drive somewhere, then just slip DS into it when we arrive. It's so easy!
i also bought a cheaper version of a mei tai for when DS is bigger and in need of something that doesn't stretch.

I have an infantino and tula (rockets) from DD1. I love my tula! With DD2 I have added a Boba wrap and I have a beachfront baby wrap arriving on the 23rd! With DD2 I mostly use the Boba (she's 11lbs now), but outside on cooler days it is easier to use the infantino (although my back prefers the Boba). I don't own the infant insert for the tula as we bought it when DD1 was around 15ish months old. DD1 still fits in the tula and DH likes using it as a back carry with DD1!

I was nervous about trying the wrap but now I love it and wish I had the Boba with DD1.

I wanted to baby wear my whole pregnancy, but it took me a while to get started due to irrational fears of suffocation. But now that I'm over that we love it!

i have a boba, ergo 360, and infantino. I use the boba the most.

My DH also loves baby wearing and when we are all home, he wears DD more than I do! I love wearing when we are out at events too. Having DD feel safe and comfortable, and having free hands is awesome!

The Baby K'tan is amazing. I was so nervous baby-wearing and starting later in the game when my daughter was around 3 months. She loves it and always falls asleep in it.

Sounds like you need to wrap the ends a little more (instead of tying in front, wrap it one more time and tie in back). It definitely has taken me a lot of practice to get the Moby secure and it still takes me a few minutes to get it wrapped because I want the fabric to be flat and not twisted (which is difficult when there's so much fabric!). I've upgraded LO from the newborn hug hold to just the hug hold and we both enjoy it. He fusses when I first put him in (I have to do lots of bouncing/walking/shushing) but he'll calm down and usually fall asleep pretty quickly

Have you tried putting the wrap on before you start your journey? I often wear the wrap to drive (with DS obviously in his car seat) then it's just a case of slipping the baby into the wrap when we stop the car.

This is what I usually do. You can also wrap in the car once you have gotten pretty good at wrapping.

I'd suggest trying to go to a meet. The one I'm part of holds meets all over the area. Look and see if they have a facebook page and contact them through there. Some of the ladies will even come to your house and do a one on one.

I was very worried about that also, but the ladies I spoke to explained it's just part of it and when the ends get too dirty you wash it. They said your little one is likely to get it grosser between spitting up and blowing out than the asphalt will.

I have a beco, k'tan and a Moby. I love the k'tan and use it every time we go out. DH just started using the beco a bit more now that lo is big enough. I don't really use the Moby because I don't trust myself to wrap it correctly, it's just so giant and unwieldy.
