My estimate at 36 weeks was 5lb. 14oz, the ultrasound tech said could be 14oz off either way though. c section scheduled for this coming Wednesday (39 weeks, 2days) so we will see just how much the little one has grown
I had an ultrasound at 36w3d and LO was 6#5oz. Tech said he was in the 43% percentile and expected to put on a half pound or so a week until his arrival.
At 36 weeks, they measured her at 32 weeks and scheduled an ultrasound. The ultrasound measurements estimated 4 1/2 pounds. I have my doctors appt tomorrow discuss...they've been concerned because she's measuring behind, but I've heard from multiple people that measurements can be so misleading and often just scare you more than anything.
At 37 weeks, she was estimated to be 7lbs 8oz. With my first, at 40ish week, he measured around a little less than 7lbs but was born 8lbs 11oz a week later, so these estimates are just that, estimates.
@lindseylou33 we had a 37 week appointment at 37+4 on Thursday. My fundal height was measuring at 33 cm so they sent us for monitoring and another level 2 ultrasound. Baby was measuring at 34 weeks (7th percentile) and 5#8oz. They scheduled us for an induction tomorrow at 38+0 to make sure that he's just meant to be a little guy instead of there being something wrong that they cannot tell from labs and ultrasound. I think this is mostly occurring because he's less than 10th percentile and he had been measuring exactly on time until 26 weeks and then was measuring ahead from then until Thursday.
@mommaz1 I'll be thinking about you tomorrow! I know so many people who were measuring behind like us, and they had perfectly healthy little babies - hopefully everything goes smoothly for you! It's nice that they've been measuring you all along to be able to compare - they didn't start measuring me until a few weeks ago (and was already behind) and haven't had an ultrasound since our anatomy scan.
Measuring 6lb 15oz at 36w. My DD was 6lbs when she was born at 37w. They had diagnosed her with IUGR at an u/s the day before because she was measuring in the high 4lb range (can't remember exactly) and a few weeks behind. Turns out she's just a petite kid. She's still only 24lbs at 2.5yrs.
At 36 weeks our little guy was measuring 5 lbs 11 oz. he was born just over 38 weeks at 7 lbs 2 oz. so gained about a half pound a weeks like they said he would.
I'll be 40 weeks on Wednesday, but the 36 week ultrasound is the last measurement I was given. At that time, they estimated her to be 6lbs, 14oz. They said they are "very confident" in that number and I have a tendency to believe them because they were pretty much spot on with my son, who was born the day after my 36 week appointment a couple of years ago (he weighed 6lbs 1/2oz at birth and they estimated he was right around an even 6 lbs).
They say baby gains around 1/2 lb a week in the 3rd trimester. If that's the case for my little girl, she's around 9 lbs by now.
I have my 40 wk ultrasound scheduled for this Thursday if I make it that far, so I'll get another estimate. It'll be interesting to see how close the actual weight is to the estimated weight.
Had my 36 week appointment (at 36w3d) and doctor just felt around; no ultrasound. However, this is baby #2 and doctor mentioned that she thinks "this is a bigger baby". Not much to go off of... we will see in 3 weeks, or sooner!

I had a growth scan two days before my c-section. For baby girl they said 4lbs 6oz and she was born two days later at 4lbs 12oz. Baby boy was supposedly 4lbs 14 oz and was born two days later at 5lbs 5oz.
ETA I was 37 weeks though and they were being watched because their growth had slowed a lot!!
I just had my 36 week appt with the perinatologist. He is estimated to be 8 lbs 8oz. Same doctor was on the money with my DD. Plus my belly agrees with the estimate.
My last u/s was at 34w3d and he was measuring 6lb11oz. By that measurement, he should weigh 9lbs11oz at 40 weeks, but the perinatologist thinks he'll be around 8.5.
So far I have two weight guesstimates in the past few weeks. The first one is "oh wow! A really big baby!" And the second one was "she seems to be very average". I give up on my doctors.
I wanted to share the weight estimate I received and the actual one he was born at just 8 hours after the growth ultrasound. He was estimated at 8lb 6oz at 41w1d and born at 8lb 14oz the same day. Fairly close but certainly don't put too much weight (pun intended ) into these estimates.
When we found out at 35 weeks fluid was low the office said 7lbs 1 oz .. Maternal fetal med said 5 lbs 9oz. After two weeks of hospital bed rest she was born 8lbs 5oz
I'm 38 weeks and still haven't gotten an estimate. Going to talk to my doctor about it on tuesday.
Some Drs dont give out estimates because they aren't usually very accurate. My dr only gave me an estimate once I was a week over due because they want to keep an eye on size of baby and fluid etc. at that point. No harm in asking but be prepared in case they say no.
makes sense. I just want to have another ultrasound and see my son. Also i want to know that he is growing okay because of some of the health problems ive developed in the last month
My doc said baby would be 8lbs10oz when I was 38 weeks, so I was induced because he was concerned about the baby getting too big/shoulders getting stuck. He weighed 7pounds5oz when he was born at 38+4!
My 2nd baby was estimated at 8.9lbs at a 36 week ultrasound to estimate when we should induce due to her being 90th percentile the whole pregnancy. No talk of induction was needed because following the ultrasound I went into active labor and was sent to L&D. She weighed 7.14lbs. Pretty close estimate. This baby, who isn't actually due till 3-13 (lurking Feb because I've never carried full term) has also been high 90th percentile and at 34 weeks was estimated 6.8lbs, we check again this Wed, will be 36+3 if she doesn't grace us with her presence early like her Sisters:)
Just sharing results from estimates. With my first three babies my doctors always thought I was carrying little 5lb babies because of how small I was. But all three of my children were over 8lbs and I knew they would be bigger babies. I just had my fourth baby Feb 7th, he weighed 6lb9oz. My ob estimated him being around 6lbs around 36/37 weeks. At 39 weeks another ob said he was already a good 7lbs. I had him at 39w6d. I knew he would be a smaller baby and honestly each ob had a different estimate.
Re: Weight Estimate at 36 weeks?

He was born at 38 weeks and was 5 lbs. 13oz. So.... they can actually be much more off than 15%. lol
With this one, the tech said he was 4 1/2 lbs at 36 weeks. My (different) OB said she doesn't think he'll get above 8lbs. So we shall see!
