  • Wtf motherhood maternity.  My receipt says a full refund will be issued for unworn clothes within 45 days of the order date.  So I went to the store and The manager said their computers don't allow them to return things after 30 days.  Then why does my receipt say otherwise? Give me my money!!!!!!
  • I took the day off work today for my niece first birthday. I got a message from my mother in law that she has the stomach flu this morning and my father in law had it 2 days ago, so if we wanted we could go over and just have dinner and give my niece her gifts and go home and she would stay up in her room. (My brother in laws live out of town and they are both here this weekend) so I thought about it.. But decided that I wasn't going to go cause I don't want to risk getting sick (I have litterly had 4 colds and I have had the stomach flu twice since being pregnant not to mention morning sickness and terrible migranes even still at 20 weeks).. I told my husband he could go he said no he wanted to spend time with me and he could go see his brothers tomorrow when I'm at work. Now my brother in law is being rude and saying I'm not gonna get sick and all this stuff and making me feel guilty for not going over and sacrificing my health... We invited them to our house but they denied the offer.. Anyways I'm just mad cause he has no idea what's it's like to be pregnant let alone pregnant and sick! And really I'm the one who is suffering.. I would love to see everything and I took a vacation day for nothing.. But yet I get made out to feel guilty?! Anyways.. Rant over
  • We are in the process of cleaning out our den to turn it into the nursery and we have a ton of shit to go through (my husband inherited the house and there's still some random stuff we need to deal with). Today I tripped over one of those fake wood boxes that holds cassette tapes and cut my foot open. It hurts soooooooooo bad. Gahhhh.

  • I'm in MD, it's freezing here this weekend. We found on Friday we need a new heat pump installed, which will happen on Monday. We knew the heat pump in our house was old and that this would happen eventually, but it still hurts to spend thousands of dollars all at once :(
  • SIL came up with a name that she wants our child to call her. It's not a variation or nickname to her actual name; it doesn't even make sense.  I'm not sure why I'm so annoyed by this, baby isn't even born yet.

  • @Nerdchild YES! I was at target a couple days ago and ventured to the maternity section for the first time ever. Turns out I was looking in the plus size section the entire time. I didn't know the maternity section consisted of only a couple racks and one display shelf.
  • @Racso12 No nursing bras in either the bras and underwear OR maternity. Guess Target isn't as preggo friendly as their online site makes them out to be!
  • edited February 2016
@Nerdchild I have gone through several racks of plus size clothes at target thinking I'm in the maternity section! So annoying.. but my target has a huge selection of nursing bras so that is one plus..
  • Apparently I can't grow a baby AND fight off colds at the same time. Third cold in four months and it was the same last pregnancy.

Also, I am feeling a little sorry for myself because I am losing my free time (aka DD's nap) because my dog had surgery. Instead of resting on the couch while watching tv I will be taking my dog out to the bathroom (can't with DD awake because I need to use a sling and go slowly), icing and stretching dog's leg, and giving her pills(12 total per day). I feel terrible that she is going through this and have cried over her suffering but this moment I just feel exhausted.
  • @Nerdchild - thank you! Your comment means so much and encourages me. On a positive note this happened now and not when baby is here. Also, DH is such a big help which I am extremely thankful for!
  • @holly142 I hope your pooch is nothing like my oldest dog, she's a total jerk who milks any illness or injury for attention.  I've seen her pretend to have a goat head in her foot after watching me pull a goat head out of my other dog's foot.  I walked over to her as she was standing with one foot raised all pitifully, checked her perfectly fine foot, and watched her run off all happy that she had pulled my attention from another dog.  True story.
  • @Nerdchild the plus size maternity section is even worse.
  • @blissylissy86 I can't even imagine.  I'm baffled that they had 1 rack of maternity clothes (which included plus size), 4 racks of regular plus size, but 8 goddamned racks of teeny tiny tween bathing suits. 8.  It's February, ffs.
  • @Nerdchild preaching to the choir. Maternity clothing where I live is basically non existent. My annoyance atm is maternity gym tights. Where are they? And I don't want to pay $180 for them online. I asked at a local sport store and the lady told me to just go up a couple lf sizes. I was like wtf, my butt would look even more horrendous then usual in pants 2 sizes too big. It's like they don't want me to go to the gym.

Little boy due July 31st 2016

  • @holly142 what kind of surgery did your dog have?  My dog tore her CCL (like the ACL in humans) a few months after DS was born. The recovery was terribly long and then she tore the other one! It sucked for everyone.

I just bought some maternity gym tights from old navy that fit well, and after my coupon they were only $10. I really recommend them!

  • @Nerdchild , goat heads are the absolute bane of my existence. My female pup seems to draw them to her paws like a magnet, and my jogging stroller is out of commission because all three tires popped from them on ONE WALK where we never strayed from the sidewalks. I have to buy BMX bike tires that are more resistant to them for my stroller. You know...next time I have an extra $75 lying around. :-P
  • Wtf body I am in gospel choir today and can barely get through one song without getting so winded and light headed. Wtf I've been singing for years and never had this issue!

I think it is some combo of your excess blood volume (since the heart and lungs work so much in tandem) and, obviously, a bit of internal organ crowding/displacement. We have some nurses and MD's on this board, so please correct me of I am wrong.
  • @whoberry - In May, my dog had her left ACL replaced with a TPLO surgery. She is only 6 years old yet bigger (60 lbs) so we had to do the most expensive kind in order to have the best chance of success. She was in confinement for 6 weeks and then 6 weeks of slowly adding in walks. Then she tore her miniscus in October and had that removed. Confinement for 3 weeks, recovery for 5 weeks. Now her other knee went out and she had another TPLO surgery to fix her ACL plus her miniscus.

I am am sorry about your dog! We knew it was likely her other knee would go out but it doesn't make it any easier :(

  • @holly142 You make it sound like your pooch plays pro basketball with an injury list that long! More couch spud, less Air Bud, pooch!
  • I get real annoyed when people finish their thoughts with: !!!??!!?!
I always picture some frantic, hot mess of a person on the other end slamming on their keyboards.
My uterus is also a bitch. She's been acting pretty damn hostile towards her houseguest.

Agreed. They say your heart beat can increase by 20 beats and still be "normal" as well the huge increase in blood volume makes your heart pump harder so even resting your body is using more oxygen than normal, so when you do something vigorous you expend more energy require even more oxygen and feel out of breath... Not sure there's any remedy for this though.. Womp Womp.
  •  Rant of the weekend, I am so sick! This cold is killing me..... I can't barely take anything for it!!! My throat/nose are burning really bad... Aaargh!!!

@holly142 it sounds like you know what I'm talking about... I hope your pup feels better soon and you get more time to take care of yourself!
  • @Serpica - I feel your pain. I am resting (DH is home today), taking warm showers, cleaning my nose with saline solution and drinking lots of liquids. I hope we both get better quickly!

All this talk on maternity clothes is legit. I was heavier before pregnancy. Especially in the boob reagion (DDD). Around here its one or the other. Maternity is too small in the chest and there are no pants that fit and plus size is designed to slim the waste. I am nervous shopping online so I have been buying everything 3 sizes too big, so I swim in it. Ugh.
  • @holly142 that's exactly what happened to us, we did the TPLO on both legs.  It was expensive and a really long recovery!  Sorry you are dealing with it now!

  • @Nerdchild I'm with you on the target gripe. I'm mad that they don't have professional clothing! All they have are leggings and yoga pants. I can't exactly roll up to court in yoga pants. I would love to but that's not gonna fly. Also, they don't have anything in maternity sizes that isn't XL. I know I'm no longer a size 4 but XL is too big!  And the Old Navy and Gap in my town don't have a maternity section! So I've been doing a lot of online shopping and hoping everything fits. I still feel like an overstuffed burrito.

  • I hate maternity shopping. I've only managed to keep one pair of jeans and one shirt - everything else I have to send back because it doesn't fit! It's almost impossible to find anything in my size because I'm technically plus size - sometimes standard xls will work and sometimes it's just not happening. I ordered a dress and a few tops from Gap and I don't know why they're considered maternity- they look the same as standard sizes! It's so frustrating. I'm a little concerned I may be wearing the same outfit over and over to work because I've only found 1 shirt that meets dress code for my office. Argh!!

  • @Kellyj103 see, our target only has sizes small or medium,  maybe once in a while you will fine a large, but nothing bigger.
And since motherhood went to sears, they had 1 single pair of 'plus size' maternity pamts in a size 16. They did have dozens of 2, 4, 6, 8 sizes. I guess they assume women in GA are not a 10 or larger and pregnant.
    Thank God for Raid.

  • Have any of you tried pink blush? It's an online store that offers maternity. I like it because it doesn't look like maternity, just extra stretchy material etc. although I haven't tried any of their pants yet. They do have plus size too!

@Katekay3 Pink Blush has cute stuff - especially dresses. I will probably order my shower dress from them. But I didn't find any tops that were professional enough for my workplace so I'm still on the hunt! :)
