@mom2adoodle I was the SAME way when I was pregnant with DD. Everything was so overwhelming! It took me a long time to realize that I didn't have to know everything right away. I spent my entire pregnancy fretting about what would come after and beyond and then realized after DD was born that I had plenty of time to take each stage as it came and educate myself as I went. It made everything much more enjoyable. I hope you find your balance because stressing over everything takes the fun out of it all!
@mom2adoodle- I wasn't that way in pregnancy but I was after I had my first, especially after going back to work. I actually became consumed by the "research" I was doing - always trying to find the perfect answer as to why my little guy was gassy or crying or kicking or anything. I ended up seeking help for the anxiety as I was having a hard time eating/functioning beyond it. Now I try to just live in the moment and let things happen but it can be hard.
This isn't meant to increase your anxiety, but might be worth telling your significant other just so someone else knows that at times you feel overwhelmed (which is completely normal - my own case was very exaggerated)... just because it can be hard to see in ourselves when something becomes abnormal.
Sorry.. off my soapbox. I've become a bit of a mental health advocate after being pretty shocked to suffer myself
@mom2adoodle, everything @JennM205 said. I worried just as much as you are if not more. I'm a huge worrier. The cool thing about children though is they grow at the same rate that we are able to develop our skills as parents. Take it one milestone at a time, and don't read too many things. I never read things because there is no guarantee anything will work for your individual child. I just followed my instincts on most things, and that always seemed to work best.
@mom2adoodle Me too. I am an obsessive planner and researcher when it comes to EVERYTHING and have been forever. Everything from picking a college major to a wedding venue to trips we take. And of course I got a little obsessed with ttc with temping and OPKs etc. So I'm trying to not get ahead of myself with this baby and take it day by day. Good advice from @jennm205@AnnaS930 & @TheTamedShrew !!
