So, I have Amazon Prime and learned that, when you're a Prime member, you can get 20% off diapers if you sign up for a diaper subscription. I just had a couple of questions for anyone who has possibly used this service, or knows someone who has. We also have a CostCo membership so I still need to figure out if this saves more money than just getting diapers at CostCo.
1. If you used the subscription, did you like it? Any complaints?
2. Do you think the price was better through Amazon than regular stores, like Wal-Mart and Target?
3. How the heck do you figure out how many to order!? (I'm a STM but my baby turns 5 next month... I can't remember for the life of me how many diapers she used per day/week/month!)

Re: Amazon Mom Diaper Subscription - Do you know about this? Any STMs used it?
2. I didn't do any price comps, but it seems like a good price to me. I am sure you could get better deals if you are a hardcore couponer, or if you are using non-name brand diapers.
3. I am no help here because we cloth diaper in the day time on weekdays.
A) you don't have to lug large boxes around the store and in and out of the car

Another question- when did everyone start their subscription, before the baby arrives so you have some ready to go? Or after so you know what size to get? Do you get the largest quantity or smaller qty more frequently? Anything else we should add to the subscription? Wipes probably but not sure of there are any other products we need to buy regularly for baby..
I have a monthly subscription that includes 2 boxes of regular diapers (1 for home and 1 for school) and 4 refills of the diaper genie. Every other month my order includes a box of overnight diapers and a box of wipes. DS is almost 2 and currently wears a size 5. As they get older you tend not to go through as many diapers as say when they are really little and you're changing diapers constantly. The overnights last a lot longer since I usually use 1 or two per night.Other items like diaper cream, bath soaps, etc I usually just pick up at the store as needed.
You usually receive a notice in your email about a week before your order is about to ship. So if you find yourself needing to change sizes or quantities, no worries you can do that before your order ships.
In the beginning you will likely have a lot of diapers as gifts from friends. I would suggest monitoring how fast you go through those and then create your subscription as you start running low. The subscribe & save shipping is usually about a week, but with the Mom membership everything else is 2 days, I use it constantly.
1. If you used the subscription, did you like it? Any complaints? yes, love it! I guess only complaint is that you can't adjust the subscription date. Not a huge deal, though.
2. Do you think the price was better through Amazon than regular stores, like Wal-Mart and Target? I didn't do extensive price comps, but the prices are better than the grocery store.
3. How the heck do you figure out how many to order!? (I'm a STM but my baby turns 5 next month... I can't remember for the life of me how many diapers she used per day/week/month!) When DD was a newborn, we estimated 10-12 diapers needed per day. We also get a large shipment of wipes from Amazon every 3 months. That is more than enough!

Pampers were our favorite in the beginning, I especially loved the wet indicator in the front. Once he started crawling, Huggies Little Movers worked a lot better at holding in everything.
I tried the HEB brand and was pleasantly surprised at how much I like them but I'm pretty sure the HEB store is only in Texas so it doesn't help as much.
I have also used target diapers and been very happy with them. A lot of my friends however used the Costco brand and I've heard nothing but good things. usually my diapers are between 20 and $0.25 a diaper and every time I have looked at Amazon the average diaper cost more than that.
I would not do the subscription-based things simply because my daughter grew too fast and I found myself going from size ones to two threes very quickly.unless they let you exchange them? but that seems like a pain.

TTC 9/2013
BFP#1: 9/28/2013, EDD 5/28/13, MC confirmed 10/15/13, D&C 10/17/13

My DD cant wear anything but pampers swaddlers and this was by far the cheapest I could find - even with big box store coupons and sales. I will say when she was smaller I did get an extra case at the beginning at target on sale bc she would go through a bit more then 1 box a month. But since getting in size 3's it's been consistently a box is plenty a month.
You also get prime (free 2 day shipping) on all items you buy from Amazon and free movies - it's amazing and you don't have to take a baby to the store to get it!

You might look into cloth diapering. One of the many perks is never running out of diapers and wipes.
