  • @Sgoldberg247 Can't wait to see the quilt you're making! I wish I was that talented. For the uterus question - early right before I hit 20 weeks I felt my uterus growing out more. Now that I'm almost 23 weeks it is definitely growing up towards my ribs, but with my short torso I already feel like I'm running out of room.

@Huskerfanz Yay for hitting the halfway mark!

Over halfway!!  I don't think I'll go past 35/36 weeks because of triplets.
DS 9/2/13 was a BFP from an IUI!
Triplets due 6/29/16 also from an IUI!

  • @Kballew10 I used to be a stomach sleeper too, so it's definitely been an adjustment trying to get comfortable at night. I still haven't gotten a body pillow, but what I do is lay in a weird position where I'm almost half on my side and half on my stomach. Then I hike my top leg up towards my chest with a pillow underneath it. Not perfect, but that seems to be about the most comfortable I can get right now.
  • @BakerBird525 Good luck at your appt today and yay for feeling kicks from the outside! So exciting :)

Holy shit! Yeah I didn't even think about that...is it crazy to think that you could have three more babies in a matter of 15 more weeks?!
  • @KOR121 Hey there due date buddy ;) I like your morning tradition! Also, you would think not working would have an upside where I can sleep in, but I'm one of those psychos that wakes up with H every morning at 4:00 before he leaves for work, and then I don't like to "sleep the day away" so I'm up by like 6:30 after that anyway lol

@SMLmom Good luck at your appt today! Let us know how it goes.

  • @mrsschmity: Yay for picking paint! What did you choose?

@Sgoldberg247: Can't wait to see pics of the quilt!

    @MeganF08: Ugh, taxes....

    @huskerfanz: Woohoo for 20 weeks!

@Kballew10: Maybe your head pillow isn't the right thickness, and your neck is positioned at an odd angle?

@BakerBird525: Hope you have a great OB appt! I still have mornings here and there with nausea...right there with you.

How far along are you? 20 weeks! Excited to be halfway!

    Rant/Rave/Symptoms:
Rave: Slept through the night, thankfully.

    Rant:
    Dog's being a PITA.
Had a sharp, stabbing muscular pain to the left of my belly button suddenly last night. When pressed, pain shot all the way down through my vagina. Lasted about a half hour, then stopped. I attributed it to baby stretching and/or organ and muscle shifting due to uterine expansion. Sound familiar to anyone?

What are you doing to prepare for baby?
    Registry continues
    Kitchen-ing continues
    Next up, shampoo nursery carpets

    Questions?
    See rant.

GTKY: What is your favorite way to start the morning?
I'm with @mrsschmity. Love having coffee and breakfast out on the back patio on summer weekend mornings.
  • @kor121: That .gif is spot on. I love me some coffee, too.

@smlmom: Good luck at the OB appt! Sorry to hear your daughter still isn't feeling well. Hope that clears up soon.
  • @mrsschmity - I love the blue-gray color!  And I love that the other is called Belgian Waffle... and now I'm hungry.

Good luck today @BakerBird525 and @SMLmom!

@crdo - Good call.  I will try 2 pillows tonight and see if that helps!

Yes, yes it is.  That's why I've been going nesting crazy as I could go on bed rest at any time, too.  Plus, I'm going to be large and uncomfortable rather soon.  Average for triplets is 32 weeks so it could quite possible be sooner, too.  36 is probably the max for me.

He has been getting better about sleeping in but is still being kind of a pill to put down.  At least he is getting more sleep now so he isn't crabby all the time now.

  • @mrsschmity: Love those colors with the sheets! Going to be beautiful.

@NicknShan: Yep, we clean the carpets ourselves. A few years ago we bought a Bissel carpet shampooer. Works great with the pet-specific cleaning solution since it's a little more heavy-duty than the regular carpet solution they sell. For us, it's handy to have the shampooer at home to spot clean or deep clean high traffic areas 2x a year.
  • @mrsschmity love those colors!  We are doing a navy blue and beige.  Kind of similar!  Makes me anxious to paint now.  And I'm the same way - I'm up and at them in the morning, but I do love a mid-afternoon nap.

@mkemommy We have two top names.  But we aren't ready to commit.   Name may have to wait until baby is born.  It's not a matter of disagreeing, it's more we aren't sure if it is right.  Our list had less than five names to start with so it wasn't that complicated for us.   I get why parents don't tell people the name until after baby is born now.
  • @mkemommy: Thanks for the reassurance. That's the first time I felt that pain, so it threw me off a bit. Although, this is the first time in my life my uterus has been the size of a volleyball, so there's that, ha! Didn't have any indication that the pain was anything other than normal stretching/growing, but you're right that if it keeps up I'll just call the doc to be sure. As far as the kitchen, what's hampering progress at this stage is the outside temp. We need a solid 2-3 days above 50F for H to be able to prime and paint the doors in the garage. So, that'll likely be the end of the month (please!). Conservatively, the kitchen should be done next month. How's your reno going? What's the next step for you guys?
  • @crdo - Ugh, I'll keep my fingers crossed for you for warmer temperatures soon then.  We won't see 50 for a loooong time here in Wisconsin.  ;)  I remember our kitchen remodel...we did it in the winter and it was terrible (kitchen was out of commission for about 2 1/2 months).  I feel your pain and hope you are done next month.  Bathroom reno is going ok for us...main plumbing is done, drywall is up, floor tile is laid.  This weekend will be finishing the mudding/taping of the walls, grouting the floor tile, laying the shower tile and maybe laying the tile around the tub built in (but the latter is doubtful).  We also have to grout the shower, paint, put wainscoting up, finish the tub deck (including tiling around the top and wainscoting around the base), put the shower glass walls up, put the vanity/toilet in and finish putting all the plumbing fixtures in.  So, yeah, its going to be a while being weekend warrior types for renovations.  ;)
  • @mkemommy: Thanks--at least the kitchen is back in commission since the cabinet boxes on the walls are painted and all appliances are in place. 2 1/2 months would be rough
Sounds like your bathroom is coming along well! Are you guys laying tile yourselves?
  • @crdo - My BIL is doing the tile...he has done it before many many times and does a great job.  I'm so thankful to have him close by...he is very handy.

@hockeyfan42 - Thanks, my doctor is really laid back so she'll probably just tell me "everything is fine, don't worry".  Have fun at dinner tonight!  I hope you get to eat something good.  :)  I am zero help with hair.  My hair is in a pony tail 9 times out of 10.
  • @crdo actually I had a day last week where I had shooting pains in that same area... sharp, brief, but sporadic for 2 periods of maybe 15-20 min each.  It did worry me at the time cause it was more than a dull ache for sure- but nothing since then (been a week).  I think it was just growing pains.  I had a ton of pain with my daughter around 17 weeks and wound up in the ER, only to feel silly because there was absolutely nothing wrong- just stretching.  I'm not saying to not take pain seriously, but growing pains seem to occur in all shapes and forms and are USUALLY just part of the process, I think.
  • @tjenkins528 right on with the sleep sched.  Today my daughter started talking at 4:30 and I was like "nooooo!"--- then she and I both went back to sleep till 5:45, which felt like a sleep-in and caused my morning to be a bit rushed.  Ah, mom life...
