@mkemommy: Nice! Handy having a family member that knows how to lay tile!
@hockeyfan42: How long is your hair? For medium to long hair, my go-to easy fancy updo is to: 1. Tease the crown lightly 2. Sweep hair into low pony a couple of inches above nape of neck 3. Tease hair inside the pony and spray through with dry shampoo or hair spray to create hold, texture, and volume 4. Gently twist and sweep hair around pony holder into a bun, pinning in place as you go 5. Tug at hair at crown to fluff a little if desired for height 6. Spray all over with light hold hairspray Have fun at the dinner!
@smlmom: Appreciate the reassurance! Good to know someone else has experienced something similar.
Rant/Rave/Symptoms: Same old pregnancy issues... my Rant today is more about my stroller issues!! I had posted previously about the Uppa Baby Vista stroller and my liking the blue color even though we are team green & my mom & dh both felt that it was too boyish. So I said OK fine I'll go with the navy one (I just can't do black for a baby, I know many people do I just find it too harsh for my liking) so anyway I go to change the stroller & car seat colors to Navy on my registry - and they don't have the navy car seat - anywhere!! Not even for purchase through the Uppa Baby website directly... and I don't want to get a car seat in a different color because its a travel system so it would look mismatched when I snap the car seat on the stroller.... so I think I have to go with grey - and I'm annoyed because I love the blueish color but I know they are right if i have a girl & everyone assumes its a boy I'll be annoyed. (Sorry for the long rant).
What are you doing to prepare for baby? Stressing about the above Working, trying to save money but it seems we keep spending!!
Questions? Does anyone else feel weird crunching up their stomach, like when trying to get out of bed or off the couch etc, I feel like I'm gonna squish the baby if I bend too much (I'm sure I'm being crazy its just uncomfortable & weird) and its only started feeling this way this week.
GTKY: What is your favorite way to start the morning? With lots of snuggles with DH & on the weekends he usually brings me pancakes or french toast in bed! I'm going to miss those days once LO arrives!!

Thanks! My hair is probably considered long, even though I just got over 6" taken off in Dec. I'm a disaster at teasing, but I'm hoping my dry shampoo will help. At least the ponytail part is very familiar!
June 2016 April Siggy Challenge: Reasons my kid is crying
@mkemommy, @crdo, @hockeyfan42 I don't know how y'all make dry shampoo work. It always makes my dark hair look like I put baby powder in it. Maybe I tried a sucky brand. I'd love to be able to shower at night but I can't because my hair gets greasy looking overnight and dumb me can't figure out dry shampoo
@MsBeachNJ My stroller/car seat are totally mismatched. my H ordered something called a mountain buggy stroller that is supposed to be good for snow/hiking trails. I just put some sort of weird converter thing on my registry that allows my Chicco car seat to fit into it. But the stroller is black and yellow and my car seat is black and teal and they look odd together. I'm just not caring at this point haha

Rant/Rave/Symptoms: Rant - I can't stop sneezing. It is driving me insane. Rave - my dress that I'm wearing to my shower in Florida next weekend came (I had to send back the first one and order a size up because it was too small for my boobs) and it fits and is cute. It has a flower print and I feel somewhat like Kim Kardashian in that flower dress where she was accused of looking like a grandma couch, but whatever.
What are you doing to prepare for baby? Finally just ordered our crazy expensive nursery furniture. at least we could put it on a credit card so we can pay it off little by little. I'm still annoyed with my H for not finding something different, but its impossible to change his mind once its set. It takes 8-12 weeks to get here so I'm praying it gets here in time for the baby. Also, our good friends bought our glider and ottoman for us and I think those are getting delivered next friday, so yay! Questions: Has anyone else bought maternity shapers for going under a dress? I was uncomfortable with the way my belly felt in my shower dress and I know people are going to be grabbing my bump so I want to get a shaper. I know motherhood maternity carries them and was going to go look, but I don't want to be massively uncomfortable or anything.
GTKY: What is your favorite way to start the morning? Coffee coffee and more coffee. Normally I take some me time and read the news and my other favorite sites (buzzfeed, the berry, now the bump) before I do anything productive.
@chelseay416 I may be going the same route if I continue to feel so blegh about grey!! I also bought Maternity Spanx for under a formal dress... ordered them off amazon for $29. I'll let you know how they go this weekend when I wear them under a gown!

I'm a brunette, and have dealt with the same powdery issue as well. It's annoying.
My favorite dry shampoo for soaking up oil, giving some oomf, and leaving zero powdery residue is the Big Sexy Hair (volumizing?) dry shampoo. If you don't like a grippy feeling at the root, this might not be for you, but I love it.
The latest one I've tried that is a true dry shampoo intended to clean your hair is by Living Proof (perfect hair day or something?). It's on the pricier side at $22, but I really like it. I like the way the nozzle is designed to target where you want the product to go, it smells great, and it works with little to no powder left behind. The key for me (with any dry shampoo) is to spray it in the root, let it sit for a few mins to soak up oil, then brush or rub it out with my fingers to diminish the powder appearance.
Apparently I had a lot of thoughts on dry shampoo....

I have dark hair, too! I use the suave professionals dry shampoo and haven't had much issue. I make sure to rub it in and/or lightly brush it if it looks powdery. It's been a lifesaver for second (or third...) day hair.

I love this dry shampoo discussion. I've never used it but I'd like to not shower every day.
Aaanyways, my real update is that all went well at my OB apt- really a wonderfully simple apt- little dude just doing perfectly thus far. I feel very lucky. Having a miscarriage before each of my successful (so far) pregnancies makes me appreciate the blessing of a healthy bubs more than ever.
Just want to say: Dry shampoo is a wonderful thing. I've had good results with the Suave and Herbal Essences "Naked" kind, but what I would love to get someday is the Aveda brand. My stylist used it on me once and it was instant volume.

Rant/Rave/Symptoms: Rave: feeling good about the fact that I ordered a couple of maternity/nursing bras online. They are Gilligan and O'Malley brand from Target and they look very comfy. That's kind of a lame rave...but hey, it gives me hope that I won't have to wear my ill-fitting and uncomfortable bras anymore!
Symptom(ish): Last night we were playing Candy Land and my daughter did or said something funny, so I laughed out loud and the baby kicked me SO HARD that it took me completely by surprise--it almost felt like someone elbowed me really hard or I bumped into a corner. I mean, her movements have been pretty low-key all along, but this was intense! I guess I startled her with my loud guffaw!
What are you doing to prepare for baby? Nothing major

GTKY: What is your favorite way to start the morning? I love a leisurely cup of coffee, preferably in bed with H while we read or talk. But yeah...that was definitely in our pre-kid life. But the way I start my mornings is pretty fantastic anyway: my daughter comes into our room and snuggles in our bed with us a for a few minutes. If I'm really lucky, she'll fall back asleep for awhile. I love snuggling my sleepy girl. After awhile she'll whisper, "Mommy, I'm ready to get up now," and the day begins.

Amen, sister! We had a loss last November and are on almost the same exact timetable as I would've been with that baby. Yay for successful pregnancies and healthy babies!
@Kballew10 - for now I've propped be head up a bit higher with two pillows. Then I have 2 smaller pillows, one in between my legs and another one I'm almost cuddling/have one arm on...it seems to kind of help prevent my body from trying to roll onto my stomach but allows me to be sleeping semi on my side, semi on my stomach...
@mrsschmity- LOVE the sheets and the paint colors!
Loving all this dry shampoo talk! Best.thing.ever. @denny+lee - I tried a ton of brands and have found "Not Your Mothers" works best for me. I have really dark hair as well and as long as I rub it in with a dry towel then you can't tell. It did take some time for my hair to get used to it, but so worth it! I can actually go 2-3 days without washing it now with the use of dry shampoo.

Edited because the app kept cutting off half of my post! (add that to my rant!)
@msbeachnj--get the navy if you want. That wouldn't look bad with a grey car seat in it. Plus you will use the stroller years longer than you will use the infant car seat, so you will have the color of that around longer so get one you like. Our infant seat and stroller are orange and brown and we were team green with our daughter (and this one). You will be amazed at the number of people that refer to your baby as the wrong sex even with them wearing all pink and having a huge bow on their head, so if you really love the color, get the other blue one.
Over halfway!! I don't think I'll go past 35/36 weeks because of triplets.
Have they set a end date they won't let you go past? With my mono di girls it was 36 weeks.
Depends on which Dr I talk to. One doesn't like to go past 35. One said up to 38 if things are going well. So far there is no reason for an earlier date. Just depends on the babies and my body.
DS 9/2/13 was a BFP from an IUI! Triplets due 6/29/16 also from an IUI!
